“Hold up, you mean to tell me you are helping Dez raise his son?” Tokyo asked Shimmy.

“I choose to do what I do because I love Dez and nobody is going to stop me from doing it. So, if y’all bitches about to have an intervention then let me know so I can bounce,” Shimmy spat.

“Dez must got some good pecker,” Tokyo laughed but I didn’t find it funny.

“Kyree, I love you. I really do but you don’t see the big picture, do you? If Shimmy’s wild crazy behind can accept another man’s child then maybe you need to just get over it and accept No Hands’s son. I get that he had him while y’all was together but babies don’t just go away. You can be mad all day but it’s not going to take away the fact that he has a son. So, put on your big girl panties and get back with him. No Hands has been on good behavior and I think you messing with Osari opened his eyes,” Tokyo said and Shimmy surprisingly agreed.

I sipped my wine cooler. “I guess y’all hoes are right. Y’all get on my damn nerves. Shaniece, sit your ass down and get that wig done before I change my mind,” I said, snatching her hair bag from her. Tokyo kicked it at the kitchen table, feeding Kylee and cracking jokes. All three of us were having a great time talking about the latest hood gossip.

“So, y’all heard that Tassana bought Osari that BMW he is driving?” Shimmy asked as I sewed her weave in.

“I heard about it. I’m glad that she is changing because Tassana was a selfish bitch.” Tokyo laughed and I rolled my eyes.

“Get over it, Kyree, you was fucking her baby’s father,” Tokyo said.

“She got an ass whipping coming to her,” Shimmy said.

“Y’all bitches know that’s my twin. I don’t mind one-on-one fighting, but I’m not standing there and letting y’all beat her ass. The bitch is trying to do better, so y’all need to mind y’all’s business and let her. All she wants to do now is be a mother and love her man. Now, if she bounces back and starts being conniving, don’t say nothing. I’m over what she did because, like I stated before, if she hadn’t schemed, Kauzie and I wouldn’t have bonded stronger. So, leave my sister alone and let her be her,” Tokyo said.

“Tokyo forgives people too easily,” Shimmy said.

“Naw, y’all bitches hold grudges too much and only miserable females live their lives like that. I whipped Tassana’s ass after she did that shit to me, so don’t think she got off easily. If I’m not worried about neither should y’all,” Tokyo said.

“Anyways, have y’all heard what Dez and Osari did to loud-mouth Becca?” Shimmy asked laughing.

  “Who is Becca?” Tokyo asked.

“Loud-mouth, ugly Becca that is always starting shit. I had to tag that bitch a few times in high school because she ran her mouth too much. But anyways, she popped off with Osari and he threw her in a Porta-Potty. Dez kicked the potty over they said. When Becca got out they said she was pissy and shitty,” Shimmy said.

“I heard Osari was messing with Mya,” Tokyo said.

“Gave her fifty dollars and told her to be on her way because she was sucking his dick wrong.” We all fell out laughing.

“Have you been talking to Osari?” Tokyo asked me.

“Nope. I have seen him a few times though. We chatted but nothing like that. I’m not going to lie though, I be having dick withdrawals. Pernell does his thing but Osari was knocking a bitch’s walls down. He had me thinking I was in love with his ass.” I laughed.

“The dick that good?” Shimmy asked me.

“Is it? I’m still mad that Tassana’s ass getting all that good wood. One time Osari had my legs folded up like a pretzel, he was deep-stroking me so well, I almost pissed. I mean this nigga was deep up in my stomach. Let me stop talking about it before I need a cold shower,” I said.

“Damn, you just made me horny,” Tokyo said. I heard someone come into my house. “Who is there?” I called out. Kauzie and Pernell came walking into the kitchen. Pernell kissed my lips then mushed Shimmy.

“Muthafucka don’t play with me. He thinks he is all of that now because he got hands. He’s going around mushing muthafucka’s,” Shimmy fussed.

Kauzie picked his daughter up then kissed her cheek. “You hanging with the ratchet squad today, baby girl?” he asked Kylee.

“Don’t get cursed out. You know I’m still mad at you for breaking my damn sleep,” Tokyo fussed.

“When aren’t you mad, Tokyo? I swear I’m not knocking you up no more after this,” Kauzie said.

“Nigga, you said that shit last time,” Pernell said.

“What are y’all about to get into?” Tokyo asked Kauzie and Pernell.

“Nothing really, we’re just chilling,” Pernell replied

After I was done with Shimmy’s hair, we started cooking dinner. Pernell and Kauzie were in the living watching a football game and talking shit. My phone rang and it was Ivanka. She called to tell me that she was outside and that she was about to walk in.

Ivanka came in looking like the weight of the world was on her shoulders. “Is everything okay?” I asked her.

“Lee will not give up on us. He comes to my job, rings the doorbell all night. He watches the house and he calls me all day and all night. He texts me telling me that he needs to be with me and would you believe this nigga started threatening me?” Ivanka fussed.

“That’s because he doesn’t know what to do now. Men do dirt but can’t take it. I bet he was that nigga when he was fucking everything that walks but now his pride is crushed. He might be on suicide watch next week.” Tokyo laughed.

“Don’t be in there filling people’s heads up, shorty!” Kauzie called out.

“Nigga, I wish you would shut the fuck up and stay in the living room where you’re at!” Tokyo shouted back. “That nigga pisses me off but I would kill a bitch for even looking at him,” Tokyo said laughing.

Ivanka’s phone rang. “This is him calling me now,” she said. Tokyo took her phone from her then turned it off. “If you really wanted to get rid of him then you would’ve already,” Tokyo said.

“I have been trying,” Ivanka said.

“Girl, who are you fooling? That nigga knows you still want him and that’s why he is acting like that. If you was serious about it then you would’ve been moved back home or got a restraining order out on him. You can tell the police that he is threatening you and stalking you. That’s what you do if you don’t want to be bothered,” Tokyo said then Ivanka started crying. Shimmy rolled her eyes then mumbled “Simple bitch,” under her breath. I elbowed Shimmy to hush her up.

“Desiree needs her ass kicked. I remember a few years back I almost kicked her ass. She was fucking Darrion when he and I were together. He was creeping up to her house almost every night. That’s why Dez didn’t like Darrion. They said Dez even robbed Darrion when he caught Darrion coming out of his mother’s room,” Tokyo said.

“I still don’t see what y’all saw in that fat funky-ass nigga,” Shimmy said shaking her head.

“That’s not how you talk about dead people,” Tokyo said.

“Serves his funky ass right. Everybody knows what happens when you start talking to the FEDS,” Shimmy said. There was a knock on my door. Shimmy went to go answer it. She came back in the kitchen. “Ivanka, Lee is outside and he wants to talk to you.” Shimmy laughed.

“Damn it,” Ivanka said, getting up. When she walked out of the house Tokyo was laughing. “That woman is going to be with him next week, she loves him too much,” Tokyo said.

“How do you know?” Shimmy asked.

“Because I know, we all been through it before,” Tokyo spat, rolling her eyes at Shimmy.

“I would kill that nigga,” Shimmy said.

“Bitch, stop lying to yourself. If that was Dez you would fight him then take his ass back. A woman knows when enough is enough and Ivanka hasn’t gotten to that point yet. Just like how Kyree took No Hands’s bullshit all of those years,” Tokyo said.

Pernell stormed into the kitchen. “Why are you starting shit,
Tokyo? I’m trying to get my shorty back and you know how simple Kyree is when she starts thinking,” Pernell told Tokyo. I punched Pernell on the arm.

“You are such an ass hole.” I laughed.

“What I’m trying to figure out is why you and Kauzie can’t stay the hell out of our conversation. We are having girl talk and y’all fools are eavesdropping,” Tokyo said.

“Well, stop bashing niggas then,” Pernell said to Tokyo. Kylee started whining. Kauzie came into the kitchen to get his daughter.

“What’s the matter with Kylee?” I asked Tokyo.

“Nothing, she can’t be away from her daddy for too long,” Tokyo said.

Ivanka came back into the house with tears running down her face. “What the hell is wrong now?” Shimmy asked her.

“Can you be caring at all?” I asked Shimmy then she rolled her eyes at me. Tokyo looked at Ivanka then shook her head.

“Let me get out of this kitchen before Kyree has flashbacks,” Pernell said then walked out.

“Did y’all talk?” I asked Ivanka.

“Yes, we agreed to just go our separate ways. He said that he had been feeling bad about how he treated me, especially since I’m pregnant, but he said he needed to find himself.” Ivanka wiped her eyes.

“That’s a slick-ass nigga. He broke up with you and y’all are not even together. He cheated on you and now he got you feeling bad. Damn if his pimp hand ain’t strong then I don’t know what is. Aye, No Hands there is a nigga out here that’s pimping more than you, nigga,” Shimmy called out. My mouth dropped and so did Tokyo’s.

“This is why I had my doubts when you first started talking to Dez. You sounded just like him just now and that shit ain’t cute,” I told Shimmy.

“It’s okay, she is right,” Ivanka said sadly.

“He will come around, but why was he calling you and acting like he wanted you back? I’m confused,” Tokyo said.

“He wanted closure between us,” Ivanka said.

“Ivanka, sweetie, just bring it down a notch. I know you are a college graduate with this good job and all but, honey, you need to be hip. You can’t mess with a hood nigga and think that your intelligent ways of thinking is going to help y’all’s relationship. This nigga just reversed-psychologied your uppity ass,” Tokyo said.

“Pimp hand strong, like I said,” Shimmy said, eating a pickle.

“Ivanka, Lee is not a stupid-ass nigga. Don’t underestimate him because y’all grew up in different parts. Niggas like him can outsmart the FEDS, so you know damn well he can outsmart you. He still wants you, he just playing the hoe-nigga card because he fucked up,” Tokyo said.

“Preach, bitch,” Shimmy said. I snatched the pickle out of her mouth.

“Take your ass home,” I said to her.

“Bitch, this is juicy,” Shimmy said, sitting down at the table across from Ivanka then crossing her arms. “So, bitch, what are you fittin’ to do?” Kauzie came into the kitchen going into my fridge to get a beer. We all looked at him because women cannot have privacy around men.

Kauzie cracked open his beer then leaned against the counter. “What is your high-yellow ass doing just standing there?” Tokyo asked him.

“I’m trying to figure out why you are in here like you the relationship expert. Shorty, what are you fronting for? Tell your friends how I be shutting that ratchet-ass mouth up when Kylee is asleep. Tell them how I had to take you into the bathroom the other day to bend that ass over because you kept testing my gangsta. Tell them how when we got home afterwards, you was answering me like, ‘Yes, Daddy.’ Yeah, shorty, you ain’t keepin’ shit all the way gucci with your home girls,” Kauzie said drinking his beer. He gave Tokyo a look daring her to say something.

“Y’all hear crickets chirping? Y’all hear the hood roaches fighting for that small chicken crumb on the floor? It’s awfully quiet up in here,” Shimmy instigated. Tokyo rolled her eyes.

“Y’all females talk too much shit until a nigga give y’all all those inches,” Kauzie said.

“Why are you in here?” I asked him.

“Y’all need some act-right including that little prissy broad sitting at the table. I never even met her and can tell she think she is better than the nigga she is with. I also can tell that she prolly feel like if it wasn’t for her then her nigga wouldn’t have shit,” Kauzie said. I was starting to catch a headache because Kauzie didn’t care what he said to you or how he said it.

He looked at Ivanka. “Everything in your name isn’t it?” he asked her. Ivanka shook her head yes. “Well, there goes y’all answer to why that nigga been doing her dirty. A nigga wants to be the man of the house and be a king to his woman. He doesn’t want a woman who wants to wear the damn pants. You are trying to control that nigga and when he act up you want to take shit from him. I bet that nigga pays all the bills too and still feel like shit ain’t his. I’m just speaking from a man’s point of view because y’all women like to bash a nigga instead of owning up to y’all’s shit,” he said then walked out of the kitchen.

“Five more minutes, Tokyo then you are taking your ass home because you been stingy with the pussy!” Kauzie shouted out from the living room. All of our eyes were on Tokyo.

“I thought you was my shero,” Shimmy said to Tokyo.

“Fuck all of you hoes, shit. That nigga got inches, so he can call shots like that. That nigga’s dick ain’t no joke when I behave,” she said then we roared with laughter.

  The next day…

I sat on Pernell’s couch waiting to meet his son for the first time. Rica was on her way to the house with him. I had never seen Rica before. I had gotten into it with her on the phone a few times but this was before I knew about the baby. I was nervous. I could admit I wanted Pernell and his son was included. This was the only way for me to move on and become happy. This was one of my biggest fears and I had to face it.

“Are you nervous?” Pernell asked me.

“Yes, I am. This is what I have been running from and now it’s time for me to face it,” I said to him.

“So, are you rocking with a nigga?” he asked me with a smirk on his handsome face.

“Yes, I am but I’m taking a big chance because you hurt me bad and I’m praying it doesn’t happen again,” I said to him. He kissed my lips passionately.

“I promise it won’t because I was sick when you started giving that pretty-boy-ass nigga my pussy,” Pernell said.

“Seriously?” I asked, because I had every right to do me at the time I was doing me.

“You damn right, I’m serious. A nigga is dark-skinned and I didn’t have no hands. Here comes this pretty boy with weird eyes sweeping my girl off her feet. You know dark-skinned niggas don’t be liking those lighter brown niggas. I was handicap too. I wanted to kill the both of you. My pride was all fucked up,” Pernell said laughing.

The doorbell rang. I stood up to answer it. When I opened up the door I had to close it again.

“What’s the matter?” Pernell asked me.

  “I wasn’t ready,” I said to him.

“We talked about this shit. See, now I’m fittin’ to slap your simple ass,” he said, getting mad.

“I meant I wasn’t ready to see her face dumb ass,” I said to him. Pernell pushed me out of the way then mumbled, “Crazy bitch,” under his breath. He opened the door and Rica walked in holding their son. Savian was an adorable little boy, he looked just like his father. Rica grilled me.

“So, you want to play house with this skinny bitch and our son?” Rica asked Pernell.

“I can get my weight up, but your face is stuck that way,” I said to her. She flipped her long weave then grilled me.

“But this ugly bitch gave your man a baby,” she said. This was exactly what I didn’t have time for. Everybody knew that Pernell and I had been together for years and didn’t have a child together.

“It’s not too late for that,” I told Rica. She rolled her eyes then kissed her son goodbye.

  “Let me hold
him.” I reached my arms out to his son. Savian held his arms out to me, so I could pick him up. I got misty-eyed. “I can’t believe I’m doing this,” I said to Pernell. I never thought I would be holding his baby that wasn’t mine. Pernell kissed my forehead then my lips. I put Savian down then he started crawling. He crawled to the couch then stood himself up.

“Lil’ man is trying to walk,” Pernell boasted then he looked at me. “I appreciate you,” he said. I blushed. I had my man back and it was for good.

  Osari

Tassana had been acting distant for two weeks and I had enough of it. Some nigga named Zas had called her phone, she didn’t answer it but his name was stored. If I wasn’t mistaken, I have seen that number before and I ended up choking her silly ass because of it.

Her phone rang again while I was putting O.J. in his crib and she was trying to hide it.
