Interview with a Billionaire: Billionaire Romance Box Set Page 23

by Brooks, Sarah J.

“Read it then, what does he say, Mia?”

‘Sorry pixie I know u’ve been worried I needed 2 get away x’

She read the message out to Sarah, “That’s it?”

Mia nodded her head. It was a lame message. She began typing a reply.

‘Really that’s all I get?’ she sensed Sarah peeking over her shoulder.

“I’d be more sympathetic toward him, Mia, even though you don’t wanna be; you might frighten him away again. While you’ve got him texting you, don’t scare him away by being abrupt,” Sarah said quietly.

Mia knew she was right and decided to wind her words in and try a softer approach, ‘Hey u I miss u when r u coming back? x’

She showed the screen to Sarah who nodded her approval. Mia pressed send, “We better let the others know he’s been in touch, Sarah.”

“I wouldn’t rush for a sec, Mia, let’s see if he says where he is first. You might be able to get something out of him,” Sarah replied now kneeling down beside Mia.

‘Be back soon. I miss u 2 & am sorry 4 being so shitty with u, I know u don’t just want my money Mia x’

“See, told you he loves you, Mia. I knew he’d come around. Just let the bad feelings go for now,” gloated Sarah.

Mia smiled at her, feeling the tears pricking at her eyes. She was so relieved that Cody had contacted her, and now all the stress and relief was flooding out.

‘I love u 4 u not yr money Cody x’ she typed back without letting Sarah view this more personal message.

Her cell beeped, and she read the reply holding the screen at such an angle that Sarah couldn’t read it, ‘I love u 2 pixie don’t worry I’m ok x’

  ‘There r folks looking 4 u 2day, me & Sarah included x’

‘Tell em 2 stop looking pixie go back 2 the center u won’t find me there x’

‘Ok. Call me soon ok? x’

‘I will. Speak soon my little pixie x’

“He’s not here, Sarah. We should tell the others now,” Mia said as she threw her cell back into her bag and began standing up.

“What’s your hurry? We could stay here a while where it’s quiet,” Sarah said, reaching for Mia’s arm.

“No,Sarah, this is important, come on.” Mia couldn’t believe Sarah didn’t seem to be taking it seriously; everyone was wasting their time searching for Cody, and they needed to tell people that as soon as possible.

“Okay, fine, wait up,” Sarah huffed sulkily. Mia chose to ignore her tone. She stopped and turned, watching Sarah as she caught up with her.

“Good to go?” Mia asked a flushed-looking Sarah.

“Yep. Look, I’m sorry, I know how important this is, I was being selfish. I wanted alone time with you while it’s quiet, forgive me?”

“There’s nothing to forgive, come on.” Mia wasn’t thrilled with Sarah’s approach, but she understood her wanting to be alone with her. All Mia wanted now was to be back in Cody’s arms and to feel his warm embrace.

They soon found Zach and his group. Zach had radio contact with the other groups, “We never got a radio,” Sarah whined.

“You didn’t? Sorry girls, you can tell I’m not exactly used to this kind of thing happening.” Zach grinned. He was thrilled that Cody had been in touch and let the others know.

Mia felt bad that they’d all wasted their time, but everyone assured her it was no trouble. Cody was popular, very popular.

“You guys wanna grab a drink? Celebrate that Cody’s OK,” Zach asked Mia and Sarah when they arrived back at the center.

“Sure, I’d love to, thanks,” Mia replied, hoping Sarah’s answer would be the same.

“Not for me, I’m knackered Zach,” Sarah said, throwing Mia completely.

You bitch! Now, what do I do?

“You sure, Sarah?” she asked, trying to convince her to join them.

Sarah just nodded her head and vanished. Mia knew she lived close to the center and watched as she walked away.

“Just you and me then, kiddo; you wanna change first?” Zach asked, staring down at her with his dark brown eyes. The color was the complete opposite to Cody’s pale blue eyes: Zach’s eyes were warm and welcoming.

“Nope, I’m good in jeans and T-shirt, thanks,” she replied.

“You seem to get on well with Sarah,” Zach said while they made their way along the sidewalk outside the center.

  “Yeah, she’s a great kid.”

“She sure is. We were together a while ago, her and me.”

  “She mentioned that.”

“Just didn’t work out, but we stayed mates.”

“You’re lucky to have that, Zach, as so many couples don’t stay mates after a relationship.”

“Sarah’s easy to get along with, Mia, I value her friendship,” he replied, holding the door open to the first bar they came to.

“Thanks. Let me get these, Zach,” Mia said, taking control and heading for the bar.

“Thanks,” he muttered, following her; once the drinks were bought, they found a quiet table by the window.

Zach was easy company. “So how come I’ve not seen you around the center much then?” Mia asked, sipping her drink.

“Cos Cody does most of the work; I’m just the person in the background who nobody knows about.” He laughed.

His laugh was infectious and natural. His eyes didn’t crinkle at the corners like Cody’s did when he smiled, and his face didn’t dimple, but his laugh was great. Zach’s face seemed to light up when he laughed.

“So now Cody’s not there, you’ve taken charge?”

“Yeah, for now, Mia. To be honest, I’d rather not have too much responsibility, you know what I mean? I’m happy being out of the public eye so to speak, and I love my work.”

She smiled at him. He was genuine, and Mia liked that. His tattoos all looked like Japanese symbols, and they suited him; she couldn’t help staring.

“You like?” Zach’s voice interrupted her thoughts.

“They’re cool,” she mumbled, feeling awkward for staring.

He smiled, watching her intently, “They’ve all got a specific meaning, Mia, but I won’t bore you with that right now.”

She wouldn’t have minded being bored but decided to leave it there, “I’m so pleased that Cody texted.” Mia felt that by mentioning Cody, it somehow reaffirmed that they were a couple, just in case Zach got the wrong idea.

“Me too, Mia. Cody’s one of the good guys in life; he doesn’t deserve to be thought bad of. If you ask me, I reckon Callum’s up to something; I know it was all proved with paperwork, but I still think it’s all a bit suspect.”

“He and Callum don’t exactly have a close relationship, so anything’s possible, I guess.”

“I’m glad Cody’s got you, Mia. He needs someone in his life to keep him sane!”

Mia giggled. “Well, I’m not sure if I’m the right person for that particular job, but he seems to like me.”

“I’d say he more than just likes you girl. He’s a lucky guy.”

Mia blushed and smiled at Zach, “I’m the lucky one, Zach, he’s a great guy.”

Yep, I think you’ve convinced him now that you’re well and truly off the singles market, Mia.

“So tell me more about your job as a reporter,” he said, moving closer toward her as he spoke.

“What’s to tell? I get some interesting stories from time to time, but most go to Izzy, who I’m sure you’ve noticed. She bats her false eyelashes at our boss Stuart, and he gives her the best stories going.”

“Oh, you mean the girl who dresses like a hooker? She’s always trying to get my attention, and I simply ignore her.”

“That’s the one! Trust me, she’ll keep trying as she hates to be ignored, especially if she sees you as a way to get closer to her story on Cody’s vanishing act; so you better watch yourself, Zach.” Mia smiled.

“I will. I’ve never liked false people, Mia, and she seems so dramatic.”

“That she is. Here’s the thing, thou
gh, Zach —she knows how to work Stuart to perfection. All she does is flash her massive tits, show some leg, and act all foolish, which isn’t hard for her, and he eats out of her hand.”

“Well, I admire you for sticking around when you’re losing the best stories to her, Mia; it shows determination and loyalty to the company, so well done you.” Zach raised his glass in the air, and Mia clinked hers against it and laughed.

Until that moment, she hadn’t noticed how close Zach had moved toward her; suddenly, his arm was around her shoulders. She was just about to ask what he was doing when she felt his warm lips capturing hers, Mia panicked, but at the same time, enjoyed the sensation. His lips were soft and gentle.

Instead of pushing him away, she melted into his kiss, allowing his moist tongue to enter her mouth. His hands were around the back of her head, holding her gently, and her arms crept up to hold his muscular neck.

This is wrong, Mia, so wrong.

“Mia! For fuck’s sake, Mia,” Cody’s voice shouted.

Mia broke free from Zach’s kiss and looked up just in time to see the back of Cody disappearing through the bar’s door.

  34. Chapter Four

“Shit, fucking shit!” Mia cried, jumping up from her chair.

“Fuck, he’s back already?” Zach said also jumping up.

  “Where are you going?”

  “With you, of course, Mia.”

“No! You stay here, Zach. I think you’ve done more than enough already, don’t you?” Mia snapped at him.

“I only kissed you Mia; you liked it, so where’s the harm?”

“Seriously? I’m with Cody, and you knew that, so why kiss me?”

“Cos you’re so damn hot, and Cody wasn’t here. I’d no idea he’d walk in Mia,” Zach answered.

“Well, he did, and now it’s probably screwed everything up. Just stay here, Zach, please let me go after him on my own.”

“Fine, but I won’t apologize for kissing you, and I won’t apologize for wanting you, either, Mia.” Zach touched her arm as she made her way in front of him to the door.

She turned to look at him. “I’m flattered, Zach, but I’m with Cody, and you know that.”

“A girl can always change her mind!” he shouted as Mia left the bar.

She heard his words as the door shut. Her mind was completely confused. Why did he have to kiss her? They were getting along just fine before the kiss, and more to the point, why the hell didn’t she just push him away?

Cos you liked it. You liked the attention from another hot guy. So how far would you have taken it, Mia?

She missed Cody so much, and she was vulnerable; Zach knew this, but it still didn’t explain why she’d not stopped it. How could she explain it to Cody?

She was grateful for her sneakers as she ran along the sidewalk trying to catch Cody. “Cody! Stop already.”

Mia could see him up ahead. His head was down, and he was marching along; she could only just keep up with him by jogging. “Cody, stop, please!”

“Why? I thought you loved me, Mia; how wrong was I? and Zach for fuck’s sake of all people; it had to be Zach, the guy I work with,” Cody cried, obviously upset and mad at the same time.

“He surprised me with the kiss, Cody. We were just chatting, and then he kissed me,” Mia explained between breaths. She was still jogging as Cody wouldn’t stop marching forward.

“And you were really fucking struggling to stop him, weren’t you Mia!” He spat the words at Mia.

“I’d no chance to stop him.”

“Or perhaps you simply didn’t want to stop him, cos you enjoyed it too much, is that more like it?”

“No, Cody, it’s not,” she lied, knowing that his words were true. She’d enjoyed Zach’s kiss; it’d been tender, gentle, and lingering. Mia had found it intoxicating and had found it turning her on. If Cody’s voice hadn’t stopped Zach, then would she have stopped him? The answer to that question was probably no.

“Don’t bullshit me, Mia. We’re done, you hear me? Finished. I want nothing more to do with you. I know you’re concerned about my questionable wealth now, and I now know you’re capable of cheating on me yet again,” he shouted.

I’m so glad you didn’t catch me with Sarah, cos that really would mess with your handsome head.

Cody had stopped marching and was stood staring directly at Mia; his raised voice had attracted attention, and all those that didn’t know he was back yet, certainly did now.

“One, I’m not concerned about your friggin wealth; I actually couldn’t give a toss about it, and two, I wasn’t cheating on you. Zach surprised me that’s all,” Mia snapped, losing patience quickly with him now.

“Whatever; look, I’ve had enough, Mia. We’re done,” he whispered quietly, walking off back toward Thrill Seekers.

“Fine, see if I care!” Really, that’s the best you can come up with?

Mia felt hurt. For once, his cheating accusations were unfounded, and he was jumping to conclusions, which in itself was ironic due to his dislike of assumptions.

She let him march off, noticing how his ankle had improved. Mia loved him, but she wasn’t about to justify her actions to him; if he didn’t want to believe her word, then that was his problem, not hers. Cody had been the one to vanish; he’d literally up and left without a word. He’d also been the one hitting on Rebecca; whether it was work related or not, he didn’t have to hit on her.

“So why are you so bothered about him?” she asked herself, taking a slow walk back to the center. Mia knew why so she was so bothered—she loved him, and she couldn’t just switch that off.

Maybe you don’t love him quite as much as you thought you did, though, girl. You went off with Callum and Sophia, and you nearly did the same with Sarah. You enjoyed Zach’s kiss when you really should’ve just slapped him for even trying to kiss you.

The doubts were creeping in now; Mia was questioning her true feelings for Cody.

She made it back to Thrill Seekers and saw Cody in the lobby chatting to a group of teenagers. Mia stared at the floor, walking as quickly as she could to reach the elevator.

“Hey, great news isn’t it, Mia?” Izzy’s voice cried; Mia turned and watched as a half-naked Izzy walked slowly toward her.

“What is?” Mia asked, not able to take her eyes off Izzy’s bouncing, jiggling breasts.

Izzy was wearing nothing but a skimpy pale green baby doll nightie; her red, wavy hair was cascading around her bare shoulders, and her long legs seemed endless in the tiny nightie.

“About Cody coming back all safe and sound, you must be thrilled,” Izzy said, standing beside Mia at the elevator.

“Yes, Izzy. I guess I am; didn’t you have a chance to dress?”

Izzy looked at herself and smiled at Mia. “Oh shit, didn’t even think about clothes; God,I hope I’ve not offended anyone.”

“Really? They’re teenagers, Izzy, and most of them are guys; so no, I don’t think they were offended.”

“Stuart sent me a text as he was down here when Cody came in about five minutes ago. My nightie was the nearest thing to my bed, so I just grabbed it. Has it offended you, Mia?”

Mia swallowed hard, practically drooling over Izzy’s nearly naked big breasts. “Me? No, not at all, Izzy. I‘ve felt your naked breasts, don’t forget.”

“Hmm, so you have, and an amazing feeling it was too,” Izzy purred. The elevator arrived, and both women stepped into the empty space.

Mia felt horny. Her harsh words with Cody and now a half-naked Izzy had got her all hot and bothered. She tried to avoid looking at Izzy as the elevator began its journey upward, but Izzy had other ideas as she positioned herself in front of her.

“You wanna feel them again?” Izzy asked, obviously feeling as horny as Mia.

Shit, what the fuck did you have to say that for? There’s an invitation I just can’t refuse.

Mia nodded her head slowly, and Izzy smiled and slowly pulled the straps down on her nightie.

“What here? Why not come to my room?” asked Mia, growing wetter by the second.

“Why wait, Mia? Feel them now,” Izzy breathed, pushing her now naked breasts against Mia’s T-shirt; Mia reached her hands up and began caressing Izzy’s big beautiful naked breasts gently.

“Harder Mia, squeeze them harder,” Izzy commanded, pushing herself against Mia’s hands.

Mia started to squeeze them, softly moving across to Izzy’s hard nipples, which were a dusky pink color. She pinched them gently, making Izzy moan loudly. The elevator stopped abruptly.

“My floor, you coming with me? We can continue this in my room,” Mia suggested, hoping that Izzy would agree because she was so turned on.

“Sure, I’m not gonna get back to sleep now feeling this horny.” Izzy smiled.

Again girl? What are you trying to do? But Cody said they were over, so what the hell did it matter anymore?

Izzy clung to her arm as Mia fumbled with her key card, eventually opening the door; they both giggled as they practically fell in the door. Mia wondered if she’d had too much to drink but knew she’d not had that much.

They made it to the bed where Izzy pushed Mia back so she fell on her back on the soft mattress. She felt her stonewashed jeans being undone and pulled from her smooth legs, closely followed by her yellow satin panties.

“No small talk with you is there?” Mia joked.

“I know what I wanna do with you, Mia, and trust me, it doesn’t involve talking.” Izzy sighed, lifting Mia’s orange T-shirt up so she could find her lacy bra.

Mia sat up and lifted her top off, letting Izzy unfasten her bra; now she was naked apart from her tiny sneaker socks. Izzy gasped as she looked at her pushing her back on the bed and climbing on top of her.

This was a whole new experience for Mia. She’d never had a woman on top of her before; she could feel Izzy wasn’t wearing any panties underneath her nightie. Mia could feel the wetness of her arousal touching her naked thigh as Izzy straddled her.

“No panties; you were daring going downstairs like that,” Mia whispered.

Izzy didn’t answer, but instead kissed Mia’s mouth hard, her moist tongue plunging inside. Mia groaned, feeling close to an orgasm already.
