“Excuse her humor, she’s a reporter.” Cody smiled at them, which seemed to work as they both went bright red and smiled back at him.
Mia mouthed a thank you to him as they all stepped into the empty elevator; the silence was broken by the young girl. “You’re Cody, aren’t you? The billionaire owner of this center.”
“Shush, Brooke. I’m sure he doesn’t want to be pestered by you,” her young companion said smiling awkwardly at both Mia and Cody.
“It’s cool, and yes, I’m the owner, for now at least.” Mia squeezed his hand as he spoke.
“For the record, we all think it’s crap what happened with you and your so-called brother; there must’ve been a better way of telling you about your adoption,” Brooke said, obviously determined to say her piece.
“She’s right; we all think it’s crap. You’re the best thing about Thrill Seekers; we’ve all read the articles about your tours and adventures.”
Cody blushed. “Thank you; that’s sweet. If I could stay, I would, but I don’t think that’ll be an option.”
“But you dunno for sure, right?” Brooke asked.
“Brooke, seriously?”
“What Owen? I’m only having a goddamn conversation,” Brooke snapped, rolling her hazel-colored eyes at Mia. Her tenacity was admirable; she wasn’t giving up easily. The elevator reached the ground floor, and they all walked out together.
“No, Brooke; I don’t know for sure; but I’m pretty certain I’ll lose everything once the adoption is proved for definite, which should be soon now,” Cody spoke quietly but firmly.
The teenagers smiled and walked away, leaving Mia and Cody standing alone, “You handled that well, Cody.”
“It’s kind of nice to know the kids are concerned, and that they want me to stay, Mia. Not that I can do anything about choices made concerning my wealth. If I’m deemed not to be a Wilson, then the inheritance isn’t mine,” he said, keeping his voice down as they walked toward the dining room arm in arm.
Mia’s mom waved like a crazed fool from across the room, “Here we go, smile and wave,” Mia whispered as they waved simultaneously, making Mia giggle.
Her dad stood up as they neared their table. He didn’t smile; he actually showed no emotion at all—his face was like a blank canvas. Mia instinctively reached for Cody’s hand and held it tightly. He glanced across at her and smiled; he looked absolutely petrified.
“His bark’s worse than his bite; you’ll be fine,” she whispered, hoping her words would comfort him slightly.
“If you say so, pixie.”
She felt so sorry for Cody; for a tall guy of 6’2” and an athletic build, who’d ridden the rapids of the Kicking Horse River without fear and completed countless other adventurous activities, he was now as timid as a mouse.
“Mia, Cody, so good so see you both. This is Mia’s dad Joe, and this, Joe, is Cody.” Her mom said the introductions with a cheerful note to her voice.
Cody held out his hand toward Joe, who totally ignored him and instead hugged his daughter.
Mia noticed Cody placing his arm down by his side once again.
“Honestly, Dad!” She sighed. Would it kill you to be halfway decent to the guy I’m with?
“I’ll shake his hand when he’s proved he’s worthy of my beautiful daughter and proved that he’s going to do the right thing by her and the baby Mia,” her dad replied in a very gruff voice.
For a short guy, he came across as very imposing; Mia knew he meant well, but seriously, did he have to come across like such a gangster. What’s he gonna say next, ‘treat my little girl wrong and I’ll chop off a body part!
She smiled to herself and stood back by Cody’s side once her dad had finished hugging her; his hugs were reminiscent of a python’s grip on its prey.
“I understand that, Mr. Adams,” Cody muttered.
“Speak up, boy. I can hardly make out what you’re saying,” her dad bellowed. Mia felt Cody jump.
“Joe, for heaven’s sake—you’re scaring him half to death.” Mia’s mom laughed. “Come on, you two, come and sit down.”
Her mom held out a hand toward Mia, which she took, pulling Cody with her as they sat down. Cody ended up sandwiched between Mia and her mom, which Mia was relieved about as she didn’t want him sat next to her dad.
“So Mia, how are you?” her dad asked as he sipped his drink.
“Good, Dad, apart from some morning sickness, I’m good,” she answered, noticing Cody standing up.
“Can I buy anyone a drink?” he asked, nervously looking around the table.
“Orange please,” Mia replied, hoping her parents would allow him to buy their drinks. He was making an effort to get along with her dad, which was more than she could say for her dad.
“Not for me, thank you,” her mom said smiling up at Cody. “Joe, do you want a drink?”
Mia’s dad simply shook his head and stared down at the table. You stubborn man. I can see you’ve only got a small amount of drink left, and yet you won’t let Cody buy you one.
“Back in a sec, pixie.” He leant down and kissed her gently on her cheek, making Mia blush.
She caught her mom smiling at them as Cody left to go to the bar. “Seriously, Dad, would it really hurt you to make a friggin effort for me?”
Her dad glared at her, “What do you think I’m doing just being here, Mia? When your mom told me about your pregnancy, I didn’t know what to think of you, and I know you’re old enough to know your own mind and all that stuff.”
“Just a bit, Dad, yeah. I was 25 a few weeks ago, you know, so I’m a grown woman who happens to love the guy you just practically ignored.”
Her dad just stared at her and then looked over her shoulder as Cody returned with their drinks, “You love him? Do you even know the meaning of the word love?”
“Everything alright, pixie?” Cody asked as he placed her orange juice down on the table and sat down.
She smiled up at him, “Just Dad being a pain in the ass.”
“Mia show some respect!” her mom snapped.
“Really? You mean like he shows me any, Mom?” Mia scoffed, feeling really upset with her dad right now.
“I give up, Cheryl. I came here out of good faith to support our daughter, and this is what I get. I’m going upstairs,” her dad said, standing up from the table and glaring down at Mia.
“Joe, there’s no need for that. Just stay and eat dinner with us, please,” her mom pleaded.
“Please stay, Mr. Adams. The food’s excellent here at the center, and I’d very much like to get to know you better; if not for my sake, then please stay for Mia’s sake,” Cody said, looking up at her dad.
She was proud of Cody and took his hand under the table, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
Her dad tutted and sighed but did eventually sit back down. The server brought their menus over, and Mia just hoped they could enjoy a peaceful dinner.
42. Chapter Twelve
Once they’d all ordered their meals, an awkward silence fell over the table; Cody began doing his annoying napkin fiddling trick while Mia took her cell from her purse and started to text him.
‘Well this is friggin shit☹ x’
She smiled when she heard his cell beep; he looked around sheepishly as if he didn’t really know if he should begin texting at the dinner table or not. Mia placed her hand on his leg under the table and patted it softly, almost giving him permission to check his cell, which he did.
Minutes later, her cell beeped, “Honestly, look at you two; no wonder the art of conversation has died!” her mom tutted.
Mia smiled and looked at her cell, ‘Yep, god I wanna strip you naked right now☺ x’
“Sorry, Mom, it’s my boss. I’ve just gotta text him back; who are you texting Cody?” She was feeling naughty now since his text and wanted to mess with him.
He coughed, “Just an old mate, pixie.”
Nicely done, got out of that one easily!
She texted him back,
‘And I wanna ride you all night long, now I’m wet. x’
Mia could feel the dampness growing in her orange silk panties and squirmed slightly in her seat, rubbing herself against its hardness. She put her hand back on Cody’s leg and slowly moved it upward toward his crotch; she heard him cough quietly as her cell beeped again.
‘Now you’ve got me hard x’
She smirked, “You get on well with your boss, then, Mia? He makes you smile,” her mom said.
Mia smiled. “Sort of Mom. He can be a pain at times, but he’s alright on the whole.”
She felt Cody’s hand on her leg and gasped quietly while her hand had traveled to his crotch. She started to caress his hardness through his sandy colored chinos; Cody had dressed really nicely for dinner. He was wearing a pale blue shirt with the chinos teamed with his walnut-colored deck shoes. For tonight his hair was back in the usual low ponytail.
Cody’s hand vanished under her long maxi dress, and she sighed contently when his fingers brushed against her wetness through her thin panties; she reached for her cell and texted him once again.
‘Meet me in the bathroom by the lobby x’
Her cell beeped, ‘I’ll be there, once my hard on has vanished! x’
She smiled and said, “Hey guys, sorry, but I need to steal Cody a minute. I need to use the phone in the main office, and he knows the code to get in.” She hoped Cody would catch on as she grabbed her purse.
“Can’t he just tell you the code?” It was the first time her dad had spoken since he said he was going upstairs.
“I can’t, Mr. Adams; it’s a secretive code. I can’t let Mia know cos if there was ever a break in, Mia would be a suspect if she knew the code. We keep the safe in there, you see, sir,” Cody replied.
Good thinking; I like it. Come on—I need you to fuck me.
Mia stood up and waited for Cody to join her; glancing at his crotch, she saw his erection had gone down; I’ll soon have that back up again!
“We won’t be long,” she said quietly. “We’ll be back before the meals arrive; I just need to make an urgent call to my boss.”
Cody placed his hand on the small of her back, and they made their way to the lobby. There was a code to get into the office—Mia hadn’t totally lied.
“Good thinking, pixie. Come on, we better hurry; the office is a better place than the bathroom,” said Cody as they marched toward the office door.
Within minutes, they were inside the small room; Cody locked it for added security, just in case someone knew the code. Mia wasn’t certain if anyone else did know it, but right now, she didn’t really care.
Cody grabbed her and swung her around to face him, his lips finding hers and kissing her with hunger; Mia could taste his Labatt beer on his lips. His sweet smelling cologne filled her delicate nose as she kissed him back with a fevered passion.
Their tongues danced together wildly, and Mia moaned when she felt his hands under her dress and pulling her panties down; he lifted her up onto his hard desk. She unzipped his chinos and pulled his boxers down, releasing his once again hard rod.
“God, I want you,” he breathed huskily into her ear as he kissed her neck.
Mia opened her legs wider, throwing them around his back; she groaned, feeling the hard tip of his staff touching her wet lips. She put her hands on the desk behind her and lifted her slim hips upward to encourage him to enter her.
With no hesitation or pause, she felt his hardness entering her hot, wet sheath; she watched him as he guided himself into her waiting wetness. His pants and boxers were around his ankles and his hands around her back. Mia’s dress had ridden up, and her panties were discarded in a heap on the floor.
“Fuck me, Cody!” she ordered and moaned loudly as he began to increase his tempo. She looked down at her breasts bouncing inside her dress as he pounded her faster and faster.
“God, Mia, God,” he cried breathlessly. She felt him tensing, and with a loud groan of male satisfaction, Mia felt his warmth flooding inside her. Cody kept plunging his rod into her until she felt the waves of her orgasm taking over her slim body; Mia cried out and felt Cody’s hand being placed over her mouth gently.
“Shush, pixie, shush,” he whispered in her ear as her orgasm flooded over her sexy body. Mia began giggling, and her body trembled against his as she kissed his cheek, tasting the salt in his glistening sweat.
“How do we explain the hot sweaty bodies to my folks, Cody?” She laughed, releasing him from her leg grip.
“Good question, Mia!” he laughed with her now. “God, what came over us?”
“We were horny, that’s what came over us.”
“Hmmm, and you felt great,” he said, kissing her softly on her cheek.
“Wanna go again?” she asked, starting to tease his shaft to hardness once again.
“Pixie, we can’t; your folks will already be wondering where we are. Come on, put your panties on and let’s get back to dinner,” he replied, handing her damp panties to her while getting his lower half dressed again.
“Awww, but I want you again,” Mia whined, trying to grab his crotch as he dressed.
“Well, you’re just gonna have to wait then, aren’t you?”
“Fine!” she sighed. Mia knew he was right; they’d already been gone for a while, and their meals were probably going cold. She pulled her panties up and straightened her maxi dress, catching the long black hair, which had managed to escape her messy bun.
Cody leant down and kissed her nose, helping her to fix her hair; Mia was still perched on the desk, and as soon as she felt his soft lips on her skin she wanted him again. She began picturing him taking her from behind over the desk; her dress hoisted up over her tight ass with her orange silk panties around her sexy delicate ankles.
His hands would be caressing her jiggling naked breasts because her dress would be pulled down to her waist from the top, his fingers squeezing her hard nipples, and his lips kissing the back of her slim neck as he pounded her relentlessly.
“You alright, pixie?” he asked, staring down at her with his pale blue eyes.
“Huh? Sorry, I was miles away. Yes, I’m fine Cody; just daydreaming, that’s all. Come on, let’s get back to the dining room,” Mia replied.
“Hey, I love you,” he whispered, helping her down from the desk.
Mia kissed his soft mouth gently, “And I love you too.”
She felt her tummy do somersaults as they held hands and left the office, “Just think that might be the last time this office is mine if they boot me out.”
“Well, at least we made good use of your desk while we could Cody.” She laughed. “I’m not making light of the situation; I know it’s serious, but I’m here for you.”
“I know, pixie and yes, we made good use of the desk.” She felt him squeezing her hand tightly as they walked back into the dining room.
“Phone call sorted?” her mom asked, smiling up at them both.
“Yes, Mom, all done. No meals yet?” Mia answered, sitting down.
“Just coming,” Cody said, sitting down next to Mia again. Their meals were placed on the table and eaten in silence.
“So, what are your plans with the baby, Mia?” her dad now asked, making Mia nearly choke on her orange juice.
“In what way, Dad?”
“How will you support it when it’s born?”
“Seriously, we’re calling the baby an it now?” her mom interrupted.
Mia noticed her dad scowling at her mom, “Look, we’re not going to have any arguments over this.”
“Who’s arguing honey?” her mom asked.
“The baby will be well provided for Mr. Adams. I can get work; there are plenty of other adventure centers around this area for a start. I won’t have a bad name as it’s not my fault. I didn’t exactly con the inheritance out of my fath …” he stopped at the word, father, and Mia grabbed his hand under the table.
“This must be so hard for you, Cody,” Mia’s mom understood, but Mia knew her
dad wouldn’t.
“That’s bullshit, Cheryl. The guy’s supposedly adopted, that’s all, not dying from cancer for heaven’s sake; it’s not that hard to deal with ...” and there you go to prove my point exactly about dad not understanding.
“Respectively, Cheryl, your husband’s right. It’s only an adoption after all, not the end of the world. It will be tricky to pick myself up after losing Thrill Seekers because of all my hard work to get this place up and running, sir, but one way or another, our baby will be provided for, on that you’ve got my word.” Cody was convincing, Mia had to hand him that, and she just hoped that the words he spoke were true.
“Hmm, we’ll see. Come on then, Cheryl, time to go back upstairs, I think now,” her dad said, standing up and looking down at his wife. Mia often wondered how they’d weathered all the years together as her dad could be so controlling at times. Her mom seemed to like it in a strange way, though; almost enjoyed being told what to do.
“It’s been a lovely evening, Mia, and lovely to spend time with you, Cody,” her mom said, politely smiling down at Cody.
Cody stood up and gently hugged Mia’s mom, kissing her lightly on the cheek, “My pleasure, Cheryl. Will we see you for breakfast? I know you’re leaving in the morning.”
“No I very much doubt we’ll have a chance for breakfast,” her dad said in a very gruff voice, taking her mom’s hand as he spoke.
Mia’s mom looked embarrassed.
“Well, look, we’ll be down at around 8 a.m., so if you can make it, that’d be great, and if not, have a safe journey back to Vancouver,” Mia said, standing up and trying to sound cheerful.
She hugged her mom and touched her dad’s arm. Cody’s extended hand was yet again ignored by her dad, leaving Cody looking very awkward. Mia stood by his side and held his hand gently.
“Don’t worry, Dad’s not a handshaking type of guy; don’t take it to heart Cody,” she said quietly.
“It’s all good, Mia. Your dad hates me, and that’s his choice at the end of the day; he’s worried about his only daughter, and I get that pixie,” he replied sitting back down again. “We might as well finish our drinks.”
