The public adored him. He drew people like bees to honey and that included the female population. Women who had never been inclined to vote before now, suddenly had an interest in supporting the Governor in any way that they could. Though he had been somewhat of a playboy before meeting Talia, he had never been able to unleash his dark side for fear of it getting out to the public. A disgruntled lover could cause more problems than he cared for. This was one of the reasons he not only craved control, he needed it. He learned long ago when it came to personal matters, the public could be very judgmental. What he and Talia shared behind closed doors was a sacred covenant that they would take to the grave.
With Talia he was able to be open and be free about his sexuality and she liked it—hell, she loved it and craved it like a drug. Anthony had no desire to fuck anybody but the woman he was determined to make his wife.
He found himself vacillating back and forth between anger and fear. He was pissed because he couldn’t help but wonder if his precious little bride to be hadn’t run out on him. God help her if she had.
He would go through that scenario in his head and then he would get scared that she had been in a wreck, or that someone had done something to her. He went back and forth so much that when his phone rang he was on the verge of panic answering it, hoping it would be news about Talia’s whereabouts. His panic boiled down to one thing, the Governor couldn’t imagine life without Talia.
CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
Talia
I smelled him before I saw him. His musky citrus smell always reminded me of being at home and in his arms. I could feel the heat from his body as he held me against his smooth chest and I knew that he was wearing nothing but drawstring pants.
My eyes fluttered open and I looked up at his face etched with worry.
“She didn’t get my ring did she?”
“No baby, she didn’t get your ring.”
“Good.” I let my face fall back into his chest. I was tired, so very tired...
Governor Anthony Johnson
Anthony looked up to view Gretchen entering with a hot cup of soup. He knew that Gretchen would have used any excuse to get into the master suite. She would stop at nothing to check on the woman who she now viewed as a daughter.
“Is she ok?”
“As well as can be expected. Have Carl clear my schedule for tomorrow and tell him not to let this get out to the press. I doubt she is going to be eating anything. The bastards drugged her so I’m sure she will be out for the night.”
“Why in the world would anybody do something like this Anthony?”
“I don’t know but I can assure you that I will be finding out.”
“Now son, don’t do anything stupid.”
“All that I can promise you is that I won’t get caught, but this shit is nowhere near over.”
Gretchen rubbed Talia’s hair and turned to leave the room. She of all people knew that trying to talk to Anthony right now was useless.
“Buzz me if you need anything, dear.”
“I will, thanks Gretchen.”
The Governor looked down rubbing Talia’s hair as he replayed what he knew about the evening in his mind.
Evidently Julia had been intent on prying that ring off of Talia’s finger. The poor girl had fought to the best of her ability to not let that ring go. Though the Governor felt a warm sentiment about Talia’s love of the ring, it crushed him to know that Julia had beaten her up as she tried to remove it from her finger.
Her face showed the bruises of a woman who had been beaten while being unable to defend herself. It gave the Governor an idea and he picked up his phone and dialed Miller.
“Miller, though I appreciate you rescuing my bride to be tonight, I simply can’t let this situation go. I’m in a bit of a fix being that my enemy happens to be my ex girlfriend. I believe that I have come up with a way that I will feel recompensed over this situation.”
“Governor, this is clearly your call on how you want this situation handled.”
“Well I am a bible believing man, though I may not be a saint, I think an eye for an eye is befitting in this situation.”
“I don’t get what you’re saying, Sir.”
The Governor’s voice went cold as he hissed, “That bitch was so dead set on getting Talia’s ring that she beat her mercilessly while she was tied up and couldn’t defend herself. I want her fucking fourth finger on her left hand. One more thing... I want that punk Roderick to cut it off and bring it to me.”
Miller
Miller’s blood ran cold. Even he was shocked at the irony and the thought which had gone into the Governor’s plan.
“Sir, if you want that bitch’s finger delivered to you, then that is what you will get.”
Roderick
If Roderick was anything, he was a sadistic son of a bitch. In his mind this was going to be fun. Not only was he going to be able to inflict excruciating pain on someone, there was also the mind fuck aspect of fucking over a woman who trusted him. To put it simply he was a man with a rotted soul.
He made his way over to Julia’s zip tied body and began to speak.
“This worked out quite well. Having you strapped to that pole with zip ties insures that you won’t be able to move a muscle.”
Roderick used this time to show her the gardening shears he planned on putting to use. He almost had to yell over her screams and he hadn’t even touched her yet. The thought of gagging her had crossed his mind, but Roderick wanted to hear her blood curdling screams, it was the reason that he had brought her to the warehouse. She could scream until her voice was gone and no one would hear her. There would be no knight in shining armor for Julia, only a messenger of mayhem which came in the form of Roderick.
“I have sharpened these so they should work, but if they don’t, I have bolt cutters over there.” He nodded in the direction of them but never took his eyes off of her. He most certainly didn’t want to miss anything. The fear in her eyes was making his cock hard. Roderick fed off of other people’s fear and where some hit men had a problem with hurting women, Roderick took no issues with it.
In one swift move he lifted her fourth finger on her left hand and cut through bone, tendon, meat and skin. There had been more screaming before the actual assault, because she had passed out as soon as he severed the digit. Yes, Julia would never cause any problems for the Governor or Talia again. She had learned a valuable lesson, fucking with men in powerful positions could get you in much more trouble than you ever could have perceived. In this case, hindsight was truly twenty-twenty.
He was sure the doctors would work feverishly through the night doing surgery on Julia’s hand after Roderick dumped her in the hospital parking lot un-noticed.
He had other business to tend to. He needed to get the evidence the job the Governor had mandated, was done. The last thing that Roderick wanted to do was to get on the Governor’s bad side. He rather liked all of his fingers and toes.
The Governor was evil on a whole different level because he hid it so well. When you looked at Anthony you saw, wealth, prestige, power and success. But there was a much deeper, darker side to him that only those in his inner circle could attest to. He had the brains of a very successful white collar businessman and the street smarts of a ruthless gangster. A deadly combination to anyone who dared to cross him, and there were very few who dared to do so.
To put it simply, Julia had underestimated the Governor and it had cost her in a way that she would be reminded of every time that she viewed her missing digit. There was no love for the Governor in her heart now. Then again, there never had been. She had seen him as nothing but a means to an end. Now all of a sudden the surgeon who had been so smitten with her was looking like a possible candidate for marriage. Granted he wasn’t famous world wide, but he could give her the two things she coveted most, money and prestige.
CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT
Governor Anthony Johnson
I straddled her strapped down, spread eagle
body as I ran a sharp knife lightly down the middle of her chest.
“We need to talk dear,” I facetiously stated, raising an eyebrow as I eyed her.
“Now I think that I have made my point; pun intended, when I say that I’m not going to take no for an answer.” I poked the tip of the knife into her porcelain skin when I said the word point, drawing just a tiny drop of blood. I leaned down lapping it up and grabbed her chin forcing her to look at me when I rose.
“You are so fucking beautiful, Talia. I am a man obsessed and I can’t bear the thought of losing you. I have a man coming in tomorrow to place a tracking device in you.”
I waited for an argument but got none. At least one good thing had come out of her being kidnapped. She understood that it was about much more than me being a man obsessed, it was for her safety’s sake. I would never be able to live myself if I lost her.
“Such a good girl. I’m going to reward you now.” I positioned myself between her legs and the thrust the knife into her and I chuckled when she screeched.
“Are you scared of me? It’s the handle baby. If you are so scared of me, why is your pussy so wet? You like it, because you never know what I might do to you. Now fuck that knife like you mean business, or I’m going to punish you, Talia.”
I held the knife where there was no chance of her being cut. Her moans were more cries of frustration and I began to taunt her. “What do you want, girl?”
“I want you to fuck me. I want something bigger, harder. I want your cock.”
I tossed the knife and began finger fucking her as I toyed with her clit. “Is that big enough? Is that what you want?” Two fingers became three, then four but it wasn’t enough. I watched as tears rolled down her cheeks and she begged me to fuck her. Her face was twisted and contorted in agony as she begged and it was making my cock so hard that it hurt.
I released her from her bindings before I lifted and placed her leg over my shoulder and slowly slid into her then stopped, just to hear her beg for more. Her nails cut into me as she begged and pleaded for me to fuck her harder. I opened her legs like scissors and began thrusting deeply into her. I would threaten her that if she came I was going to owe her an ass beating. She would beg and plead as if in distress for me to please let her come. Truly she was in a state of distress and I had put her there. I reveled in the power of knowing that.
She looked so tormented with tears pouring down her face. She needed to come. She needed me and I needed her to need me. It was a vicious and yet beautiful cycle of twisted dark love and kink that saved us from a mundane existence. We were just what the other needed and I knew that I would never let her go.
Talia
My muscles tightened in anticipation as I grabbed Anthony’s hand and squeezed so hard I was certain that I was hurting him. A tiny sting was the only evidence that a chip had been placed in my right shoulder. Though it gave me a sense of relief that I would be safe from being kidnapped again, it also came with an awareness that Anthony could track my every movement now. Slowly but surely, my dark lover was obtaining that which he craved and coveted so much—complete control over his property.
Though under normal circumstances I would never allow a man to have that much control over me, nothing about our relationship was normal.
Julia
Julia eyed the officer who stood by her hospital bed as he questioned her. “You have no idea who did this to you?”
“I told you, I don’t remember anything.”
“You have no idea who would do something like this or why they would choose to cut off your wedding ring finger?”
Tears streamed down her face as the realization that she would never have the pleasure of wearing not only Anthony’s ring, but any man’s wedding ring hit her. Why hadn’t she just left well enough alone?
She looked up to view a bouquet of flowers being brought in and even that didn’t cheer her up.
“No, Officer, I don’t remember anything and I most certainly don’t know anyone who would do something this heinous.”
The officer made his way over to the flowers and pulled the card out.
“Always remember…”
Were the only two words written on it, and it only confirmed what he already knew. Julia remembered much more than what she was saying she did. Even he had no inclination that this attack led all the way up to the hierarchy of the government. He didn’t know now and he would never know that the Governor had a hand in Julia’s attack.
Anthony had made it clear that to cross him was to put your life at risk. And Julia had gotten the message loud and clear. She would not be revealing any information about any of the parties involved. All she wanted to do now was to get on with her life. Yes, the surgeon was looking like a much better candidate for marriage—that is, if he didn’t mind having a woman who couldn’t don his wedding ring.
Talia
I sat at my make-up table and eyed Anthony as he prepared for work. I had seen the newspaper with the story about Julia’s assault and I knew in my gut that it was retribution. It must have shown on my countenance because he began to speak to me in a way that caused my fear level to soar. This man was dangerous. Thank God, he wasn’t crazy too.
“I will not tolerate my wife being abducted and accosted.”
“I’m not your wife.”
He jerked around so fast that I jumped. One finger went under my chin and his cold blue eyes stared into mine. “Who do you think about my dove when you get hungry for my cock, the cock that only I can give you? Do you touch yourself in anticipation for me to return home? You better not! Your orgasms belong to me.”
He stood behind me undoing my robe and revealing my naked body beneath it, never taking his eyes off of me in the mirror. He gently rolled a nipple between two fingers and as soon as I began to close my eyes he roughly pinched down.
“You look at me when you feel pleasure or pain. I am the man controlling your senses.”
I bit down on my lip and shook my head yes. I was scared of him after what I had read in the paper. As if he could read the very thoughts going through my head he spoke and confirmed what I already knew.
“Our engagement party has been rescheduled for this weekend. I have arranged for you and Kathy to go back to the boutique and purchase another gown. I’ll not have you ever wearing the gown that you were abducted in.” His face got even more sinister as he spoke his next words, “You’re marrying me. Mark my words, you are as good as married.”
CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
Talia
Kathy and I had gone to the boutique before we would make our weekly jaunt to the library. I never tired of that library and though I had more books on my kindle than any one woman should own, going to the library gave me the opportunity to touch them.
I know that sounds odd, but any book lover understands the love affair that transpires between literature and those who consume it as if it were a drug.
We had narrowed it down to two swatches of material; a light sea foam green, and an almost cream colored blush.
I grabbed my phone and texted a pic of both swatches to Anthony. In a matter of seconds he replied with just a word—blush.
I was glad that he had chosen that, it was what I had been leaning towards too. We took a moment to pick out suitable lingerie and exited to make our way to the library. Anthony had mandated that I have a personal driver and I knew now to never to get in a car with anyone but him.
My life had changed so much. Before I was never noticed, the proverbial wallflower of sorts, and now I lived under the glaring spotlight of the public eye. It was quite the transition and I was grateful to have Anthony by my side to help navigate these shark infested waters.
I leisurely made my way through the aisles of the library and stopped to look down at the text that I was receiving.
Show me:
Get your ass somewhere private and spread those pussy lips for me.
Crazy:
Like hell I will, you’re nuts! I’m in the librar
y.
Trouble:
I have to admit that I’m actually kind of happy about you refusing me. You now have a date with the dungeon!
Library days:
Why do you always do this on library days, Anthony?
I knew when he didn’t answer the text that he was not bluffing about a dungeon date. But then again, Anthony never bluffed about anything.
Kathy’s voice cut through my thoughts, “Are you ready? We are doing this backwards you know, it’s supposed to be coffee first.”
“Come on, I’m taking you to lunch. We’re going to the country club and I hate being there alone. Anthony wants me to make more public appearances,” I stated, rolling my eyes.
“Sounds like fun to me. I know that you don’t like your newfound fame, but I sure am having fun tagging along. I could get used to this.”
“Well I would introduce you to Anthony’s cousin if he wasn’t such a bastard.”
“I don’t want anything to do with that loser.”
“I can’t say that I blame you.”
CHAPTER THIRTY
Julia
Roderick stood at Julia’s bedside and sneered, “I’m here to take you home, darling.”
Julia was trembling she was so scared. “I don’t want to go anywhere with you.”
“You don’t have a choice. We need to talk dear.”
“I’m not your dear, your honey, or your punching bag.”
Roderick leaned down and hissed, “Get your fucking ass in this wheelchair or that finger being cut off is going to look like child’s play.”
