  ‘Where Stuart?’

‘You will have to take me there, but I know it’s not far away’

They all set out with the blue lights and siren going.

He told them to head for the Ruchill area of the city. He said he could feel she was near there, and explained to the police officer that he hoped when they got closer to the girls location he would be able to pinpoint it.

  EIGHTYFIVE

The car proceeded down Maryhill Road, past where Paul Lynch had his old Head quarters. He could not resist a quick look in the direction of the building. He told the driver to ignore the left turn at the burger bar. The car reached Bilsland drive and he told the driver to turn left into the drive. They headed up towards Ruchill, and as the car approached, Murano Street, he told the driver to turn right into it. The medium was now getting excited, and told the driver to slow down as he passed the park on the left. They were about level with the park gate when Stuart let out a roar.

  ‘Here, she is right here’

The people all got out of the vehicles. John told them to stay back and give Stuart room to move. He was like a bloodhound with a scent, and walked through the park without hesitation. He stopped and pointed at a small rectangle door in the ground. It was the type of thing the gardeners used for burning leaves.

‘She’s in there, and she’s alive’

John Henderson wrenched the door open. The smell of urine and faeces was pungent in the air, but in a corner of the tomb lay a small Asian girl. She was lying in the foetal position. He immediately had the doctor look at her. The doctor said she was badly dehydrated but alive, and was taken immediately to hospital. John was busy at this point so Stuart and Jane slipped away. They walked down passed the student campus and hailed a taxi home.

He was at home when John came visiting. The men greeted each other as old friends.

‘Thank you Stuart, for that wee girls life. We caught the bastard who kidnapped her. Would you believe he was a jealous relative? The thing is he was extremely rich in his own right, but it appears that the girls father was much respected in the Asian community, and had been offered a very prestigious position that the kidnapper thought should have been his. At the end of the day it was just plain old jealousy’

‘I’m just glad I could help John. You know it will not work out like that all the time. For a start you would be redundant’ Smiled Stuart

‘Yes, I know that my friend, but it was still remarkable to see it happen’

‘It was that John. I wouldn’t like to have to go through that every day. It’s very tiring’

The men sat drinking coffee. John said that he would mention in his report the part that he had played in rescuing the girl. Stuart told him that if he were mentioned he would never help the police again. John nodded his understanding.

Ok, if that’s what you want. I will just have to appear as the wonder detective ‘he laughed

‘I don’t care what you say, just don’t mention me. Ok?’

‘Ok Stuart. ‘YOU’RE THE MAN’ Shouted his friend.

‘Yes I am a man now’ thought Paul Lynch

‘My Grandparents will be proud of me. I can be respected as a person for what I am, not for the fear I instil in people.’

‘It’s a miracle, truly a miracle; Paul Lynch was never a real man, but Stuart Seymour. He is a REAL MAN.
