Ryan's Rules Page 18

‘You’ll never give me a better one, honey.’ His voice was uneven and his hands trembled as they framed her face. ‘I don’t think it’s possible to love anyone more than I love you this minute.’

‘Mmm…me neither,’ she whispered, unable to halt the tears of happiness slipping onto her cheeks. Ryan caught them with the tip of his tongue, then delivered a kiss so tender that it touched her soul. Ryan wasn’t just the best thing in her life, he was her life.

‘I love you so much, Kirrily Claire Talbot,’ he said, when he lifted his head.

Hugging him tight, she smiled. ‘Too bad we’ve got a yard full of guests or you could have shown me how much.’ He blinked as if he’d only just remembered the fact, before a pride-filled grin split his face.

‘C’mon,’ he said, grasping her hand. ‘We’ve got an announcement to make.’

Kirrily stalled just for a moment. ‘I hope we have a boy and he turns out exactly like you.’

‘Really? I’d kinda like a girl who’s as smart, beautiful and…’ He paused and shook his head. ‘No, on second thoughts a boy like me would be best.’ His grin was pure torment. ‘One female like you is more than even I can probably deal with in this lifetime!’

‘Rat!’ she retorted, laughing as she hurried after him. ‘In that case, I think I’ll have a girl just to spite you, Ryan Talbot!’

And seven months later she did just that!
