The head of that large cock pressed against Aiden’s pucker, and he shivered.
“Please,” he begged. He reached down and was able to grab onto it by the base.
Thick and strong. He liked that. He tried to pull it inside him, but Rey batted his hands away.
“I’m coming for you, sweetheart. Don’t you worry.”
But he was worrying. “Taking too long.”
Rey grinned. “I know, but believe it or not, I’ve only had you in bed for a minute and a half. Trust me. I was watching the clock.”
He was? A minute and a half didn’t seem right. The other man had gone down on him, stretched him, touched him.
It felt like so much longer than that, but maybe that was another side effect of the mating? The fact that Aiden just thought this was taking so long?
He supposed he had no choice but to believe the other man.
“Just hurry,” he growled. He was an omega, but his wolf was actually making demands on him, and Aiden passed those demands onto his mate. “Do it now. Hurry. No more waiting.”
Rey nodded. Aiden expected to hear something out of him that explained why he had to wait, why he couldn’t quite fuck Aiden now. Any excuse.
It didn’t come. The man made no excuses. He just pushed forward.
Aiden didn’t expect that level of pressure. He’d never been fucked in the ass before either, so he figured that, mating heat or not, this was bound to be a little strange for him.
His body seemed to naturally resist. Despite everything that pulled him toward this man, his body didn’t immediately accept his mate.
That seemed almost blasphemous.
Then it happened. Rey’s cock popped through the ring of muscle, pushing inside him. The head first.
Aiden moaned, a loud, strangled noise.
He might have said something. Words of encouragement or maybe it was just garbled nonsense. It didn’t matter. What mattered was that sweet burn had returned to him and the sensation of Rey’s cock sliding inch by inch inside him.
Stretching him. Touching him, filling him.
Perfect.
Aiden lifted his knees, instinctively making it easier for Rey to slide inside and for his body to take what was being given.
Rey was slow at first, as though waiting for Aiden’s body to adjust.
Aiden was glad for that. Now that Rey was inside him and he could feel what this was like, his fear was kicking in, ready to overpower the heat and desire that swirled around him.
What if it hurt? What if Aiden started to move too soon and he bled? Aiden had heard of that. He’d heard of alphas who were so rough during their mating heat that they’d accidentally killed their mates.
He wasn’t sure if it was true or not, just something he’d heard, but it was enough to make him think about it. To make him hope Rey wouldn’t be like those alphas.
Aiden almost didn’t realize it when Rey was all the way inside him. Then he felt it, the touch of the man’s testicles against his cheeks.
That felt nice. Aiden sighed. Rey’s body tensed.
As though he were holding back a great beast. An animal that wanted to finish this more than even he did.
Aiden touched the man’s shoulders, sliding his hands across Rey’s shirt, wishing for skin.
He pushed his hands beneath Rey’s shirt, sliding them up, finding Rey’s nipples and playing with them there.
Rey growled a low noise, something that made the hairs on Aiden’s arms stand up.
Then the man looked right into Aiden’s eyes.
Aiden wasn’t sure what it was he said, and this was not the alpha wolf he kept expecting to see, but there was a big animal in there.
Dragon. It had to be. It was the only thing that made sense.
“Goddamn,” Rey moaned, and then he really started to move.
Hard and fast thrusts, almost violent in their intensity. Aiden moaned. The rush of pleasure hit him hard. Their flesh slapped together in a fast, lewd tempo.
And it was good. It was better than he could have ever hoped for.
Aiden reached down. His palm slid across his sensitive cock before he held it. He didn’t have to stroke it. He held his hand still, and the momentum of their bodies, the way they moved against each other, was more than enough.
The friction was beyond words. Aiden was beyond words. He moaned and tried to push his hips back against Rey’s, but he couldn’t. He couldn’t seem to do it. He couldn’t seem to move against the other man and keep up with his rhythm.
Rey was too fast for him. Aiden couldn’t keep up, but even though his sloppy movements likely made him look less than graceful, as though he didn’t know what he was doing, which he didn’t, he kept on going.
Good things came only to those who tried. That was what his mother said, after all.
And since he wasn’t about to lie there and take it like a corpse, he pushed back. He participated. He moved back against his mate in a sloppy, questionable rhythm that made the other man squeeze his eyes shut as he moaned.
And Aiden was thrilled. He could get his mate to moan for him. That alone was worth celebrating.
“Oh, baby,” Rey moaned. He slid his hands up and down Aiden’s body, as if he didn’t exactly know where he should put them.
Aiden was more than all right with that. Even though Rey was inside him, and it had been the one thing he’d wanted more of in the entire world, even that wasn’t enough.
And how fucking strange was it to realize that. That the thing he’d begged for still wasn’t enough to satisfy.
Rey’s cock wasn’t enough. Rey’s hands weren’t enough. His body heat on top of Aiden, his prick thrusting into him, nothing was good enough to settle this ache.
This time, when Aiden moaned, it was from both the pleasure and the frustration he felt at desiring something so great it was actually impossible for him to get it.
“H-harder,” he sighed. Aiden wasn’t sure if that would help, but it was the only way he could articulate what he needed.
“Fuck me, harder.” Aiden gasped when Rey did exactly as he begged for him. He couldn’t seem to hold on tight enough, and when the man lifted Aiden’s knees even higher, he felt himself being fucked right across the bed.
So good. So good and yet still not enough.
He knew what he needed.
“B-bite me.”
Rey paused briefly. Sweat began to build up on his brow. “What?”
Aiden gripped the man’s shoulders tighter. He was terrified Rey would get off him. “Bite me. On the shoulder and neck. Hard enough to bleed.”‘
Rey gasped through his pleasure. “Are you fucking kidding me?”
Aiden groaned. “I need it. Please.”
He had to find some way of explaining this. Otherwise there was a good chance he wouldn’t get what he desperately needed. “It’s a wolf thing. Please.”
Rey still seemed hesitant to do anything Aiden asked of him. Not all shifters marked their mates. For some species of shifter, it worked differently.
Rey bit his lips together, and then he gave in. He gave Aiden the thing he needed most as his fangs came out.
“On the shoulder. Not the neck.”
Aiden nodded quickly. Better than nothing and he sure as hell wasn’t about to complain.
He felt the touch of Rey’s teeth. The man was still dragging his feet, still reluctant, which made the pain that much worse when Aiden finally felt the bite.
And yet, despite that, the pain mingled with the pleasure. His body tightened, and as his mate broke the skin and tasted Aiden’s blood, he came.
This orgasm differed from the ones before it because, this time, as his body clenched around Rey’s, he felt the rush of warmth inside him, the rumble of Rey’s moan against his skin.
And then he knew they had completed their mating.
Aiden was home.
Chapter Six
Aiden slept as though he hadn’t slept in days.
Which he hadn’t.
Even in dreams, he knew his survival instincts should have kicked in, his need to know where he was, who he was with, where his parents were, all of it. Those should have been his top priority.
But his brain continued to cloud everything, to shove him deeper and deeper into that state of sleep that would leave him no choice but to lie back and wait for it to be over.
It wasn’t as though it was a chore. His dreams were…nice. To say the least.
Aiden kept dreaming of that man. The mystery man. Rey. His mate.
Was he real? Did that happen? Aiden hoped so.
“Aiden, wake up. Come on, sweetheart, you need something to eat.”
Aiden didn’t wake. He could barely be pulled out of his haze even for the angelic voice.
So beautiful.
So sensual.
His dick hardened. He groaned, reaching for himself even in sleep.
“I’ll take care of that for you if you wake up,” Rey’s voice singsonged.
But it wasn’t going to happen. Aiden couldn’t be pulled out of his sleep.
So he kept right on sleeping.
Just ten more minutes. He kept telling himself that again and again. Just ten more minutes. Then he’d be able to get his answers.
Rey came back to him a few times more. Gently shaking his shoulder.
“Hey, you alive in there?”
Aiden groaned. Ten more minutes. He needed ten more minutes.
“You’ve had sixteen hours, sweetheart.”
He wouldn’t be swayed. Sixteen? That sounded like…a lot. But he was sure he’d misheard, and then it didn’t matter and he was dreaming again.
When he opened his eyes again, it was still nighttime, so he closed them once more, and when he opened them again, his eyes felt puffy and sore, but it was bright outside, and though his body ached and the bed he was in was comfortable and smelled nicely of Rey, he had to get up.
Up. Up from where?
Aiden’s eyes popped wide open. He glanced around.
Shit. Oh fuck. That was right. His stupid brain hadn’t been working as he’d caught up on his sleep. He was in a stranger’s house. In the home of a man who’d fucked him the night before.
He was…holy God. He’d done it. He’d escaped. He’d actually gotten away with it.
He smiled. Sort of. It left his mouth immediately as his chin trembled. Aiden brought a hand up. There was no one to hide his emotions from, but he couldn’t help it. He was used to it by now.
He covered his mouth, focused on his breathing, struggling to get ahold of himself.
He was out. He’d actually made it out. Tim hadn’t lied. He’d helped him get away.
But his parents…
They were still…they were still trapped back there, with those people.
Aiden flung the covers off himself. He pushed himself out of bed, but no sooner had his feet touched the carpet than he collapsed to his knees.
Aiden hissed, his entire body tensing.
“Oh fuck,” he moaned.
His limbs were sore and stiff, and moving like that, and falling, had really hurt.
At least he’d landed on carpet instead of cold concrete.
The dragons would sometimes keep him crouched in awkward positions for hours. To the point where his joints would lock up. After he was finally allowed to move, everything ached, but he had to move quickly.
If he didn’t, he would have been made to sleep outside for the night. In the cold, no shoes or clothes, and he wouldn’t have been allowed to shift for the warmth of his fur coat.
It had always been a constant race between him and the others forced to kneel like that. To see who could get back to their bunks first.
The last man or woman outside had always cried and begged to be let inside. Especially in the winter.
One winter, a guy had lost some of his toes. They’d turned black.
Most recently, Aiden had been forced to stay awake for three days. Then Tim had come to him and offered to help him.
Aiden hadn’t believed it at first, but then…
Maybe he was that desperate. Either way, he didn’t care. This clearly wasn’t the Dog Catcher’s compound.
But Rey was a dragon.
Aiden shivered. He inhaled a deep breath, aware of the fact that he could now take his time getting to his feet and walking.
He pushed himself up and stumbled to the nearest door.
A bathroom.
He sighed. Not a hole in the ground. An actual toilet. He went to it, made use of it, and felt a little closer to human.
For a shifter.
He even got to wash his hands in the sink. He washed his face, too.
But now that he looked at himself in the mirror…
That was strange. He didn’t look filthy. His skin felt in need of a wash, but his body wasn’t sticky or filthy all over. As though he’d been bathed recently.
He still looked like shit, though.
Aiden winced at the sight of his gaunt cheeks and promptly glanced away from the reflection.
He didn’t want to see that. He didn’t want to see what they’d done to him.
He couldn’t stand it. He used to look good.
If this was what he looked like, there was no telling what they’d done to his mom and dad.
His heart ached. Fuck. He hoped they were okay. They’d better be okay.
Maybe the people here would help him.
Maybe Rey would help him.
He hoped so. He didn’t know what he would do if Rey didn’t want to help him. Or, worse, if he was part of those other dragons and their clan.
The pajamas Aiden wore were ones he didn’t recognize. They were big on him. Really big. They must belong to Rey.
That meant…did Rey dress him?
The thought warmed his cheeks and ears, though he was confused. Should he be embarrassed by something like that? He wasn’t sure. The man had put his cock inside Aiden’s body, had bitten him and come inside him, so what was there for him to be embarrassed about?
Maybe it was just a natural feeling. Maybe he was putting too much thought into it.
Aiden, carefully avoiding looking at his face, pulled the collar of the loose pajama shirt aside, along with the bandage, to have a look at the bite mark.
Interesting. It was clearly there, clearly scabbing on his shoulder, but it was healing really fast. Aiden would have thought it would still be bleeding by this point. The bandage should have been thicker. Instead it was a square bit of cloth taped down to his flesh.
Where were his clothes? They had to be around here.
Fuck. He didn’t know where anything was. He could smell it in the air, in the sheets, in the carpet and the curtains. There were DVDs on a shelf next to the flat screen. Who even used those anymore when there was streaming?
Drawn to the objects that were a part of his new mate’s life, Aiden went to see.
The sudden curiosity to know what his mate was interested in, what he liked to do with his time, overrode Aiden’s need to figure out where he was and how fast he could get back to finding his parents, Tim, or anyone or anything else familiar.
There were models on the shelf, as well. One was of a motorcycle. The sort of thing that needed to be screwed together out of hundreds of tiny parts. Another was of a tank. The remaining ones were the kind that needed to be painted after they were assembled. Mostly planes and cars and a few futuristic ones that could have come from video games or board games.
He wasn’t sure. Aiden reached out and picked up one of the spacecrafts.
It was heavy. Must be an expensive hobby to get into. A person didn’t usually spend money on a hobby they had no interest in.
This…this was painted with care. Aiden could tell as much, despite knowing nothing about models like this. The way they were put together, and the details added in…he liked it. It made him smile.
The door opened.
Aiden gasped, dropping the model just as Rey stepped into the room.
I
t shattered at his feet.
He looked down at the pieces of the model then up at Rey, his body trembling, a familiar panic rushing through him before taking him into a firm hold.
A grip he couldn’t escape.
“I’m…I’m really sorry. I’ll clean it up. I’ll fix it.” He dropped to his knees, reaching out for the pieces, praying to God nothing was snapped off, that he could just put it back together and it would be as good as new.
So long as that was the case, then he could handle it. If it was really broken and wouldn’t snap back into place…
Rey stepped up to him. The man knelt down.
Aiden froze.
He waited to feel something hard, possibly a fist, come down onto the side of his head. He waited to be grabbed and yelled at for daring to touch his property.
Fuck. He’d just had a great sleep. What if he was starved? Or forced to stay awake for several days again?
He couldn’t do it. He couldn’t go back to that. He couldn’t!
Aiden flinched as Rey reached down and picked up the larger half of the aircraft. He lifted it. Smiled at it.
Aiden didn’t dare bring himself to hope.
“You know, if you were going to break any of the models, I wish you hadn’t chosen my favorite one.”
Died. Aiden just died, and there was nothing he could do about it. He was dead. He was so fucking dead right now. There was no coming back from this.
Rey lowered his hand, giving Aiden his full attention. “If it had been anyone else, anyone aside from you, I might’ve been pissed, but…looking at you and looking at this, it doesn’t mean so much to me. I’m just so damned happy you’re actually awake.”
“You are?”
Rey’s eyes softened. He reached out. Aiden flinched again. The other man hesitated at that but then charged ahead and touched Aiden’s cheek and hair.
His hand was warm, a little rough, but there was nothing in that touch to suggest Aiden was about to be beaten.
It sounded as though Rey didn’t even want to scold him.
Strange. Very strange. The man just smiled at him, and the more Aiden looked into those eyes, the more he was able to sink into them, to relax.
