His Mate - Brothers - Meet the Family

“While it’s true that you are all of those things,” Jodie said. “That wouldn’t apply to a mate, now would it?” She offered him a smug grin and watched as his eyes practically swiveled in his head, a head that looked as if it might explode at any moment as he scrambled to find the words.
“Do we really want to test that theory?” Nicholas rushed out.
“Do you really want to go the rest of eternity without a mate?” Steph offered him a look of pity.
“Yes.” He snapped back.
“Too bad!” Casey offered with a song in her voice.
“You didn’t!” Nicholas had to swallow a large portion of his tongue as he glared at all three witches.
“We did!” The three said as one.
“Oh boy, I’m going to enjoy this one.” Turner looked smug.
“I’m bloody well not!” Nicholas scowled.
“Didn’t we already have the discussion about using magic to bring mates to the pack?” The alpha asked.
“Yes, yes you did!” Nicholas rushed out as he pointed towards the alpha but glared at the witches.
“Whoops!” Steph grinned.
“Too late now,” Casey said with a shrug of her shoulders.
“Way past its sell-by date,” Jodie assured the vampire.
“Make it stop,” Nicholas practically begged the alpha.
“Whoops,” Kit offered on a shrug of his broad shoulders that made the vampire splutter out nervous laughter of disbelief.
“I don’t like whoops. It’s not working for me,” Nicholas scowled at everyone in the room.
“You think you’d be old enough to recognize the time when you should just bend over and kiss your backside goodbye,” Zoe offered him her particular brand of sympathy.
“You!” Nicholas raised a hand and pointed an accusing finger at the elder. “You started this.”
“And I never could have dreamed how well it would have turned out,” she offered back with a smug smile.
“Not for me!” Nicholas practically stomped his foot in frustration.
“Don’t vamp out — man up,” Zoe offered back.
“Easy for you to say — you’re not looking at an eternity, are you,” Nicholas grumbled.
“Oh, you’re right — you have an eternity with your mate to look forward to,” Zoe crowed. “Lucky you.” She snapped a big, mocking grin onto her face and Nicholas opened his mouth to speak, but couldn’t find the words.
He did, however, make a noise that sounded like a balloon deflating.
The End.
