“Oh Randle! We’ve got to get outta here,” she then panicked. “I can’t let them take you from me too.”
“Calm down Princess,” he stated calmly. “We’re not going anywhere.”
“But the cops,” she started as she heard sirens coming from all around.
Randle pulled her back to stare her in the eye as he placed his gun back under his jacket. “It was self defense Princess. No one’s taking me anywhere,” he assured her firmly but smiled knowing now she truly does love him. She was so sincere and worried for his safety as well.
As Lia was asleep later that night Randle knocked then made his way into her room. Again he lay next to her and stared deeply into her eyes.
“Feeling better?” he asked softly.
She finally smiled back. “Yes, much,” she replied honestly.
Randle kissed her forehead then got back up. “Good night Princess,” he said so gently.
“Randle?” she then began. He stopped and looked back. “What the hell else is gonna happen to me?” she then asked with a laugh.
Randle chuckled at her now. “I don’t know Princess. But trust me. I’ll be there to save you,” he then promised. And she knew he meant it. Randle had loved her since the day they met.
She watched now as he closed the door and was gone and she felt so alone again. Feeling now as if she had never left this place and decided she wouldn’t think about all the good times she had with Thomas now. For some reason it was all tainted in her mind now just knowing it was all a sham. He never loved her and only used her hoping to get his hands on her money.
But Randle was so different. His life had always scared her before but now she couldn’t possibly fear anything about him. He was the only person in the world that ever truly loved her.
She found herself pulling back the blanket and slipping on her short thigh length robe and walking toward her door. She stopped for a moment as if lost in thought then pulled it open and made her way across the balcony and was now standing just outside of Randle’s bedroom door.
Finally she got the nerve and knocked. It only took a moment and Randle opened it and looked surprised at her being here. “What’s wrong Princess?” he asked right away.
“Nothing really,” she stated. “I just need to talk to you.”
“C’mon,” he insisted as he pulled her inside and closed the door. He knew she had been an emotional mess since she came home and he would always be there to comfort her.
He held her in front of him now and stared down on her with such concern and she knew he meant it. He always had. His hands were resting gently around her waist and hers resting on his shoulders.
“Randle…I don’t know how to begin,” she hesitated.
“You know you can tell me anything,” he assured her again.
“Yes I know that. That’s what I mean. I’ve always been able to trust you. I’ve always been able to count on you,” she then stated.
His eyes looked confused now. “Well of course you can. I’ve always told you that.”
“You haven’t always just told me…you’ve showed me. You’ve proved yourself true more than once and I’ve been nothing but stupid all these years,” she finally confessed.
His eyes seemed to brighten now. “What are you trying to tell me Princess?” he then asked with such anticipation.
“I love you Randle Malcolm. And I think I’ve always loved you,” she finally stated feeling a great relief bestow her at last.
Randle squeezed her tightly against him now not sure of what she just said. “Oh Princess, you know I’ve waited for years to hear you speak those words. And you already know how much I have always loved you. But I also know you’ve been through so much.” He sounded as if he weren’t too sure. As if she was confused herself.
“It’s because of what I’ve been through that has made me realize that you and I were always meant to be. You are the only man for me Randle,” she then claimed with all sincerity.
Randle kissed her hard and passionately and for the first time ever he felt her kiss him back. And he knew it was finally happening. She would be his completely. They stood now just next to his bed and he pulled back to face her.
“Are you sure Princess, I have to know.”
Lia reached to her robe and pulled it off of her. Randle’s eyes watched as it hit the floor and scanned every inch of her naked flesh before him then their lips again met.
“Yes Randle…I am sure.”
She fell back on his bed with the weight of his body on top of her and never before had she felt more powerful as she felt his hand firmly grasp her buttocks then slide down the bottom of her thigh. She never could explain why but Randle could always do this to her. Give her a feeling of total security and power as if she felt there was nothing in the world she couldn’t conquer.
The next morning Lia awoke in Randle’s bed and smiled as she sat up holding the sheet over her breasts and stared at his handsome powerful face as he slept. For the first time in her life she felt totally complete and that she had finally found where she belonged.
“Good morning Princess,” Randle stated finally opening his eyes and was clearly elated at seeing her sit before him. “Sleep well?” he asked with a smile as he reached out and stroked her hair.
“The best ever,” she admitted.
He sat up and kissed her. Then he reached over to the night stand and opened the top drawer. He pulled out a small box she surely recognized as a ring box and her eyes widened.
Finally he sat and faced her. “Princess I bought this for you on your twenty-first birthday but couldn’t give it to you until I knew for sure you were ready,” he then explained.
Her eyes widened more watching him flip it open exposing the most beautiful engagement ring ever. A huge princess cut diamond in the center so large she didn’t even dare to guess how many carats. He took her left hand and slid it on her finger.
She held her hand out flat. “Oh Randle. That’s the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen,” she exclaimed. And knowing how long ago he had bought it made it mean that much more to her.
He grabbed her up and pulled her on top of him as he laid back down on the bed and kissed her.
“Tell me again,” he demanded. “I’ve waited so many years to hear it.”
“I do love you Randle. And think I always have,” she admitted.
“I have always loved you Princess,” he stated and sealed it with another kiss. “Now…tell me you’ll finally become my wife.”
Lia smiled widely. “Nothing would make me prouder than to become your evil queen,” she exclaimed with a giggle.
Randle laughed out loud too as he rolled her body beneath his and again they shared their affection. Then to Randle’s despair there was a knock at the door.
“Damn it!” he exclaimed. “Who is it?” he yelled out.
The door opened and it was Marc that walked through. Upon seeing them both bare and covered only with the sheets he immediately blushed. “I’m terribly sorry sir,” he began apologizing. “I didn’t mean to disturb you, but we have a problem I need to discuss with you right away,” he then went on with his back turned.
Lia wasn’t embarrassed at all. For some strange reason she found herself feeling happy about him walking in on them, as if she wanted to declare to the entire world that she and Randle Malcolm were together at last and she soon would become his wife. The thought itself was a domineering one to her.
“I’ll be down soon,” Randle then answered and Marc quickly left them alone again.
“As soon as I’m done here,” he then teased as he made his way back to Lia.
“You’re awful,” she joked back. “You’d better not keep that man waiting.”
“Why not? You kept me waiting for how many years now?”
“Ha ha,” she chuckled at him now never quite remembering if she had ever seen Randle quite this happy before.
They finally dressed and Randle went downstairs to see what Marc needed him for. Lia went
back to her room to shower and change then just as she walked into Randle’s office she saw Marc still sitting in a chair in front of his desk.
“Oh I’m sorry, I’ll come back later,” she stated.
“No Princess, come one in. I was just fixing to come up and get you,” Randle then informed her.
She looked a bit confused. “What for?”
“There’s something that only you can help me pull off,” he then stated. “Close the door.”
Now he had her attention. This sounded intriguing to her and she couldn’t wait to hear all the details.
Later that evening Lia was again coming down the staircase with Randle and Marc at the bottom watching as she made her descent. She was wearing a very skimpy but formal royal blue mini dress that showed off almost all but the nipples of her finely rounded and firm breasts accented with a gorgeous diamond choker with matching bracelet and earrings and she was carrying a small handbag to match. But her engagement ring was missing.
“Oh baby…just name your price,” Randle stated proudly as he scanned her up and down then bent and kissed her on the lips.
Marc shook his head. “I can’t believe you’re gonna make her do this,” he then stated.
“I’m not making her do anything,” Randle confronted him. “She’s perfectly capable of handling herself and always has been.”
Lia smiled proudly. “Sounds like it’s gonna be fun to me,” she then implied as she playfully batted her eyes at him.
They made their way to the waiting limo. This time James was driving her and Randle and Marc followed in Randle’s Mercedes.
The limo now pulled up in front of the swanky restaurant. James rounded the car and opened the door for Lia to get out. She watched as Randle parked on the side of the building but he and Marc stayed in the car. She made her way through the front door of the restaurant and was greeted by a server.
“May I help you ma’am?” he asked a bit nervous as he tried to look her in the eye.
“Yes actually, I’m here to meet Mr. Mason,” she informed him.
“Yes ma’am, he’s expecting you,” the young man answered then turned and began making his way through the dimly lit eatery.
Lia followed closely. The young man stopped and faced this middle aged man that was slightly balding with his rounded belly but was nicely dressed and clearly filthy rich.
“Mr. Mason, your guest has arrived,” he announced as he pulled out the chair from across the table for her to sit.
The man smiled widely and rose to shake her hand. “Well, aren’t you a beautiful little thing,” he exclaimed. “I’m Maxwell Mason.”
“Jennifer,” she replied as she returned the handshake then took her seat.
“Well, the escort service didn’t lie. They said I would be pleased,” he then stated nearly drooling at the sight of her.
“Well I hope I can uphold your expectations,” she then flirted back.
The server took their order and poured them each a glass of wine. Mr. Mason proposed a toast. “To tonight,” he dreamily commented.
Lia raised her glass, tipped it against his and then winked at him. “To tonight,” she repeated then slowly sipped the wine.
Lia chuckled inside as she watched this hideous man eat so fast she thought he was surely to choke himself. They only made minor small talk through the meal as he was definitely trying to rush things along.
“Well, shall we go?” he then asked after paying the tab. He reached out a hand and helped Lia rise up from her chair.
“By all means,” she answered smiling impishly. “My car is waiting for us outside.”
This fool followed and grinned behind her as he followed her out the door and into the waiting limo. As soon as they were inside he was all over her.
“Now now,” she stalled. “I don’t wanna be walking through that hotel lobby all messed up,” she insisted as she pulled his hands away from her waist and his wet lips from her neck.
The car finally pulled up to the curve of the hotel. Again James opened the door and Mr. Mason got out first followed by Lia. The man again followed her as they made their way through the lobby and up the elevator. Lia pulled out a room card and slid it in the slot and pushed the door open.
As they made their way she walked quickly as deep into the suite as she could, passing by the bedroom door. He grabbed her again.
“Now you’re all mine,” he stated as he again tried to kiss her but stopped suddenly when he felt the cold hard medal of a gun now against the back of his head.
Lia pulled away and got as far as she could from him. Randle had come out of the bedroom and was now standing behind him. The man turned to face him.
“What the hell is this all about Randle?” he then asked.
“Why have you been refusing to meet with me?” Randle then asked.
“I haven’t,” he insisted becoming very nervous.
“I’m not stupid Maxwell. You owe me money and you’ve been avoiding me. Nobody avoids me,” he demanded.
Then suddenly the door slammed opened again and another man came in. Lia had no idea who he was. He grabbed Randle’s arm from behind and pulled him to the ground causing him to drop his weapon. Mr. Mason jumped on top of Randle and started to beat him. The other man hadn’t seen her there she knew. She reached in her purse and flipped the velcro strap from her pistol and pulled it from her purse. She raised both arms and took aim at the man on top of Randle and pulled the trigger.
All three men froze at the popping sound. Randle threw Mr. Mason’s body to the floor grabbed his gun and rose. The other man put his hands in the air.
“Look Randle, I have no idea what the hell is going on here,” he stated. “I saw someone follow them through the lobby and got suspicious is all.”
Must’ve been James Lia thought to herself as she listened on.
“Then you should’ve stayed out of it,” Randle warned.
“I didn’t know it was you from behind until you fell to the floor. I never would’ve gotten involved.”
Randle lowered his gun and placed it back under his jacket. It was clear to Lia he knew this man well and must have trusted him. He reached out his hand and motioned his fingers in her direction.
“C’mon Princess let’s get the hell outta here,” he stated.
She dropped her gun back in her purse and ran quickly to his side and he pulled her into a stairwell and they walked quickly down three flights before emerging back to the hallway and taking the elevators the rest of the way to the lobby. Quickly they jumped in the waiting limo and James sped away with them.
“Am I gonna be in trouble?” she then asked a little nervously.
Randle was smiling so widely he finally laughed out loud. “I think you know better Princess,” he chuckled out.
“Why’s that? I actually shot that guy,” she then stated.
“Have I ever let you get in trouble before? Huh?” he answered.
She smiled back. “Of course not.”
He grabbed her up and hugged her tightly. “Well, I guess I finally owe you one,” he then stated rather proudly.
As soon as they made their way up the stairs in the house Randle stated, “I can’t wait to get that trashy dress off of you.”
Lia looked down now smiling. “Yea, I guess I’d better change.”
Randle took her arm and pulled her passed her bedroom door all the way to his then brought her into the room with him. “You weren’t listening were you?”
“What?” she exclaimed.
“I said, I was gonna take it off of you,” he then informed her as he slid his hands across the top of her shoulders knocking the dress off and it slipped down her body and landed at her feet.
“You devil,” she whispered in his ear as he kissed his way down her body.
The next morning as they again cuddled under the sheet and kissed Lia finally got the nerve to ask him. “Randle, when are we gonna get married?”
He loved the enthusiasm on her face now. “I want my P
rincess to be a June bride,” he then told her. “I have our wedding scheduled for the Saturday after your birthday.”
“Awesome,” she exclaimed and smiled widely. Now she knew he was elated they were finally together. He already had the wedding planned.
The months wouldn’t pass quickly enough for Lia now. It was finally the first part of June and the wedding was nearing at last. She had already gone back to the wedding shop and this time picked out them most elegant dress she could with a long cathedral train and covered with pearls and sequins that made it glimmer vibrantly. She couldn’t wait for Randle to see her in it.
Finally making their way into his downtown office again, Lia perched as usual next to him on his desk. Randle was so used to her being there it was if he didn’t even notice but she could tell he was quite happy.
Again Misty came in to bring him the mail and she leered at her as she again left the room. “Randle you need to fire her already,” she then stated almost as if giving an order.
Randle looked up at her with surprise. “What? For what reason? She does an outstanding job around here,” he then answered.
“I don’t like her. Any woman who will sleep with a man just to secure a job is a slut,” she then stated bluntly and so glad she had because she wanted to say it for so many months now.
Randle laughed then stood so he could face her. “Lia I promise you I have never slept with that woman,” he replied whispering so she wouldn’t hear them.
Her eyes widened with doubt. “You already told me you did,” she exclaimed in a whisper as well but rather sure of herself.
“No I didn’t. I admitted there had been others. I never said I slept with Misty,” he continued to whisper.
Lia looked deep into his eyes and almost believed him. Then he went on. “Do your really think I’d risk losing my license over a stupid sexual harassment charge?”
Now it was she that was surprised and she felt like a fool. She knew Randle was far too prominent an attorney to risk losing it all over a fling of pure lust. For something that meant nothing to him.
