Katie responded to him, kissing him back and felt a little dazed when he finally pulled away.
"See? We have chemistry. There's definitely something between us, and I believe it's more than just sex. If you don't want to get married right away, I can wait. But I think us being a family is the right choice." Peter whispered to her, cupping her cheek and rubbing it softly with the pad of his thumb.
Katie wanted to say yes, looking into his eyes she lost herself, just long enough to realize that she had strong feelings for him. Pulling away, she looked down at Lucy and considered if she could truly leave her behind.
"Okay. I'm willing to give this a shot, but I cannot promise to be a non-grumpy pregnant woman. I will consider marriage to you in six months if we can make it that long. That's when our contract is up. We either part ways with a parental agreement for Lucy and this baby, or we get married." Katie told him, crossing her arms defensively waiting for him to argue.
Peter nodded, "I can live with those terms, because I'm confident that we'll be married in six months Katie. I love you. I love Lucy."
Katie wasn't a hundred percent sure things would work out long term, but for right now, today, it had a lot of promise. Picking up Lucy she held her in her arms and snuggled her close.
It felt right. She felt like she belonged here. Looking at Peter's face, seeing how his gaze softened when he looked at Lucy, she realized that she couldn't ask for a better mate. Whatever emotions and fears she was having that were holding her back, she owed it to him to give him a fair and real shot at making this relationship work between them.
"I think I love you too," She admitted quietly.

Introduction
All twenty-seven year old, Sandy Haynes wanted is for her boss to notice her. But seeing as that would never happen, she decides to quit her job and tries her luck in finding another one-hopefully soon. But when her boss decides to take her to an important charity event on the exact day she's writing her resignation letter, Sandy finds herself agreeing to his request.
But as passion starts to ignite between them and sparks linger in the air, Sandy must make a decision to choose between letting go of Nick and finding her real happiness, or stay and tell him her secret that have started to blossom in her belly.
Chapter 1 – The Billionaire
Sandy Haynes listened intently for the constant keypad typing from her co-workers. Bright sunlight streamed past the window and highlighted her mahogany desk, her eyes fixated out the window. She could hear birds chirping, their squeaking voices penetrated through her hazy mind. She shook the thought aside and looked back at her computer screen reading through the words she’d written for the last couple of hours.
She had written a resignation letter for her boss to accept, though Sandy knew that Nick McKean would never really accept her resignation letter. Why would he when she’d been one of his best secretaries—not that she was bragging—but with her promptness in writing reports, Nick couldn’t ask more from her. Or at least Sandy hoped he was satisfied with her abilities.
The door to her boss’s office swung open, revealing a tall, dark man who seemed to be in a gloomy mood. She looked up from her computer screen and watched silently as he stepped out of his office, his face unreadable and his jaw clenched. Sandy waited as he scanned the whole area as if he was seeing it for the first time. His beautiful and intense blue eyes meeting her green one. Her heart skipping up a beat when he turned toward her.
She tried to ignore the butterflies that appeared in the pit of her belly. Her eyes wide as the size of her saucers she had at home as Nick walked over to her. His strides long and powerful; his legs moved beneath the thin material of his black slacks. Sandy ran her eyes down his body and noted the fabric taut around his wide chest, his abs slightly defined through the white shirt he had on under his black jacket. His tie wrapped securely around his neck.
“Have you done the report I need you to do? That’s due today and I need it by six o’ clock, Miss. Haynes.” Her boss said in a growl.
She blinked through the lust haze in her mind and focused on her boss’s words. His voice sank into her mind and took her a moment to realize that she was supposed to be working on the report, not on her resignation letter. Perhaps this was the time to bring up her leaving the company she’d worked with for a very long time.
Sandy cleared her throat and stood up, her chair scraping against the carpet floor. “Mr. McKean, I’d like to talk to you about something important—”
“Later, Miss. Haynes. I’m busy right now. I came out to see how you were doing with the report,” Nick interrupted.
“Oh, splendid. The report is fine. It’s going great actually. Now, about that important thing I wanted to talk about—”
“Later, I said, Miss. Haynes. As of right now, I need you to clear off any events or any personal business you have in the weekend. There is a charity event I need to go to and you’re coming along with me.”
“Coming along with you, sir?” Sandy repeated, sounding like a total fool.
“Did you not hear me? Perhaps you need some hearing aids, Miss. Haynes.”
She shook her head. “No, no need for a hearing aid Nick. My hearing is perfectly well.”
It was too late by the time Sandy realized that she called Nick by his first name—something she had never done before in the past. She opened her mouth but her boss beat her to it.
“I expect that report by the end of today, Miss. Haynes. I don’t it late nor do I want to hear any excuses from you. Understood?”
She nodded. “Understood, Mr. McKean.”
He turned around and walked back to his office, stopping briefly when she said his formal name again.
“I’ll pick you up tomorrow evening, Miss. Haynes. Wear something sexy, perhaps something that will hug those curves of yours. Having you wear something nice might help me land that contract.”
“Of course,” Sandy u
ttered, stopping herself from gawking up at him. Nick nodded and retreated back to his office, leaving her breathless and not knowing what to say other than ‘of course.’
She was still baffled by his forward remark about her wearing something tight that would certainly hug her curves. Sandy didn’t like wearing tight-fitting clothes that would fit her like a glove, she didn’t like showing off her voluptuous body as it would only make people look at her and possibly compare her to the super model built-like women in the charity event. She didn’t like that at all.
She shook the thought aside and ignored the butterflies in her belly. She knew that no matter how good she would look in the event tomorrow evening, Nick would never look at her in the way she wanted him to.
Chapter 2 – Charity Event
Sandy hopped out of the limousine the moment it stopped moving. She tucked a piece of hair into her ear as a wind passed by and messed up her up-do hairstyle, her eyes scanning the sight before her. The tall building glinted against the stream of moonlight, highlighting the surface of the skyscraper. Sandy looked to her side and noticed Nick was walking around the car, his dark mane pulled up in an upswept gesture. He looked incredibly good in a pair of grey slacks with a matching jacket, his hands buried deep into his pockets.
He met her eyes and Sandy looked away quickly, pretending to study the unfamiliar faces before her. She picked up the hem of her navy-blue dress that had a slit on the side, showing off a smooth pale leg that she found unnecessary to show. Sandy gasped in surprise when an arm came around her waist, pulling her deeper into someone else’s chest. She looked up in surprise to see Nick gazing down at her; his face unreadable as ever though his eyes showed a hint of hunger. For what she didn’t know.
“Let’s go,” he said when she failed to move. He urged her to move and that was when she found herself walking. Sandy felt goosebumps appear on her arm as they strolled toward the entry as a camera flashed and nearly blinded her. Sandy felt self-conscious with how tight her body fitted her curvy body, her plump thigh exposed through the slit.
“Smile for the camera, Miss. Haynes.” Nick ordered, smiling himself when another flash blinded her. She did as she was told and felt the air got stuck in her throat when he pulled her to his side once more, his fingers dug deep into her fleshy side.
They made their way inside and Sandy looked around immediately. She took in the careful decorations of the room, of the rubicund colored curtains that was hung up on the windows. Her boss never let her go until they’ve reached their table with their names on the seats, a paper placed on the surface of the chair. Sandy felt her herself reel from the flashes of expensive skirts, men in tuxedos and formal suits.
“Wait here. I’m just going to talk to some of my acquaintances,” her boss said and let her go. She nodded and watched quietly as he walked over to a group who loomed over to the table, their hands filled with champagne flutes.
Sandy sat down and continued to observe Nick. Though she noted that there was something in him that pulled everyone in, drawing out every eyes in the room to look at him. She guessed his presence made everyone aware—including her whenever he do as much as walk into the office.
His blue eyes clashed with her green ones again and her heart skipped a beat, letting out a sigh when he turned away and began to talk to one of his colleagues once more. It didn’t help that she was attracted to him, had always been attracted to him ever since she stepped foot into the company. Sandy that her infatuation with him wouldn’t lead her anywhere, not when he was a well-known bachelor of the country. One thing she was aware of Nick’s background was that he was a notorious billionaire who wasn’t afraid of using his power and reputation when it comes to what he wanted.
The charity event rolled into place and her boss went back to her seat. Sandy squirmed under her seat feeling slightly uncomfortable with the way her dress exposed so much cleavage. An hour passed by and they were called to the dance floor, and Nick stood up. His frame loomed above her as if using his tall, dark form to intimidate her though she was far from being so.
“Would you like to dance, Miss. Haynes?” Nick asked.
Sandy shook her head in refusal. “Oh, no thank you. I’m good. But don’t let me stop you from dancing with someone else—” she was quickly cut off when he grabbed hold of her hand and pulled Sandy to her feet. She looked around and noticed that a few pair of eyes were looking their way, and it would do no justice if they started to cause a scene.
Lips pressed into a thin line, she accepted his offer and followed her boss to the dance floor. Her dress glided against the marble floor as she faced Nick who stared down at her with obvious interest in his eyes—something she had never seen in them before. She stopped thinking when he yanked her toward him, their bodies slamming together in one forceful pull.
“Nick,” she breathed. Her chest heaved and her breasts crushed against his jacket, her nipples erect beneath the cups of her bra.
“Impress the clients, Miss. Haynes.” He said in his usual professional voice and swirled her around, turning her around in quick movements that Sandy couldn’t help but laugh. A fitful of giggles slipped past her lips as her feet danced across the dance floor.
The night dragged on and Sandy was surprised to find herself disappointed with how quickly the event went on. It was nine past ten by the time they were ushered out and Nick was quiet beside her when they drove back to her apartment. She was surprised when he barked out an order to the driver.
“Drive back to my penthouse, Ronaldo.” He ordered and turned toward Sandy. She looked at him surprise and wondered what had gotten into him when she noticed his eyes were fixated on her chest, his eyes eating her up.
She didn’t know how it happened nor did she remember him jumping her bones. The only thing she could remember was Nick grabbing the remote and rolling up the shield to prevent the driver from looking into the backseat, his hands reaching out for her and tugging Sandy into his arms.
His head swooned down to kiss her.
Chapter 3 – His Penthouse
His taste exploded inside her mouth as his tongue delved in between her lips, licking and tasting her in return as his arms came around her. Nick pulled her in so that no distance was left between them, his mouth eating her up. Sandy moaned as they fell down on the leather seat, his body settling on top of her. He broke away to pepper soft, and yet wet kisses all over her neck. His scent filling in her nose when she breathed him in, his expensive manly cologne doing havoc to her senses.
The car continued to rock beneath them. Her eyes shut tight as he made his way down to her collarbone, his face nearly buried between her breasts. Her back arched when she felt the soft press of his lips on top of her mounds as he circled the outline of her breast with the tip of his tongue. The throbbing between her legs increased as her hips raised up and grinded against his massive length, his fingers digging into her waist.
The car stopped moving and they broke apart. Sandy pressed a hand on her mouth as she tried to wrap her head around what happened. She had let herself be carried away into the passion that ignited between them which had never happened to her before. But then again, no man had made her feel so wanted, so desirable in her entire existence.
The door to her side opened and Nick reached out, his fingers curling around her wrist and pulled her outside. Cool air met her heated skin soothing her as she found her boss dragging her inside the building of his penthouse, her heels clanking against the marble floor.
“Where are we going?” she asked, breathless.
“You’re coming home with me,” he said in a growl. “Tonight, you’ll be in my bed Sandy. Tonight, you’ll be mine.”
Her body shivered from hearing his words. This was the first time she heard him call her by her first name considering that he’d always been formal and called her by her last name. They stepped inside the elevator and the tiny compartment rode up into his penthouse’s floor, dragging her after him that caused her to nearly fall face flat on the
floor. Luckily he caught her before any damage was done such as with her nose breaking.
Sandy squeaked in surprise when he grabbed the backs of her legs and carried her in his arms in a bridal style way. Her arms quick and efficient as it wrapped around his nape, her weight upon his arms. She squirmed in his arms trying to get him to bring her down due to her heavy weight.
“Put me down, Nick.” Sandy insisted, “I’m too heavy for you.”
“Nonsense,” he chastised. “You weigh as a feather.”
They reached his penthouse and finally, Nick brought her down. She adjusted the hem of her dress trying to cover as much skin as possible. Though she knew that tonight she would be spending time naked and doing some things she had never done before in her life, and would be giving her boss something she had never given up to a man before, something she had always cherished to herself.
He pressed a few buttons on his security keypad before he grabbed her and hauled her inside his apartment. She wasn’t given the time to look around because Nick had her pressed up against the wall, his lips eating her mouth up with his tongue licking the in-depths of her orifice.
She cried out when he nibbled, sucked and ran his tongue over her full bottom lip. Tugging at the luscious lip with his teeth and kissing the sting away when she groaned against him. Sandy felt him run his hands roam all over her body, her breathing ragged as her eyes fluttered closed. Her heartbeat picked up and hammered against her chest, moaning continuously when he yanked at the hem of her dress and yanked it off her.
