He lifted Lilly and pushed her against the shower wall. “I want inside you before I release little flower,” he told her quickly checking to make sure she was damp and ready for him.

“Hang on, baby. This is going to be hard and fast,” Dark Horse warned, sliding inside her, moaning. “You feel so good.” Dark Horse grabbed onto her ass cheeks as she wrapped her legs around him and dug her fingers into his shoulders.

“Faster, harder, please,” she begged, resting her head against the shower wall.

“little flower,” he growled, rotating his hips, hitting that special button he found last night, thrusting in and out of her faster and harder, watching his Lilly give him everything she had.

“Love me, Dark Horse,” Lilly begged.

“Always,” he growled, covering her mouth, claiming her again, showing her how much she meant to him. Their kiss was a dance of love.

“Dark Horse,” she whispered into his mouth, breaking the kiss. Her pussy squeezed his cock as her orgasm rolled over her.

Quickly, he covered her mouth, knowing her loud vocals would embarrass her. Not being able to hold off any longer, Dark Horse release his seed, hoping the Great Mother would grant them a child, a little girl just like his Lilly. When her trembling slowed, he uncovered her mouth

“Wow, and thank you. I was loud again.” She giggled, and he couldn’t help but laugh.

“Come on. Let’s get cleaned up. You have some hungry people out there waiting for food.” Dark Horse lowered her to her feet and cleaned her from head to toe.

“Damn it, Dark Horse.” She glared at him as he pushed her out of the shower. “Now, I’m all… Well, you know.”

“Needy.” He grabbed a towel and dried her off. “You’ll have to wait for later, I’m afraid. Now, get going.” He slapped her butt, pushing her toward the door.

“You might want to wear something warm. We had a freeze last night.” Lilly went to the dresser and pulled out a pair of jeans and sweater. But when she reached into another drawer, pulling out one of the sexiest camisole and panties that he had seen.

Dark Horse walked over to take them out of her hands staring at them then her.

“I told you I had a thing for sexy undergarments.” She shrugged. “That’s one of my favorites, even though I can’t wear a bra with this. It does have some support for these big things.” Lilly cupped her breasts.

“Get dressed or I’m going to have you back on that bed, tied down and spread.” Dark Horse shoved the clothes back into her.

Watching Lilly wiggle into her clothes, he gritted his teeth as he tried to stuff his hard cock into his pants and zip them.

She giggled and ran for the door.

“This isn’t over, little flower.” He carried the tray into the kitchen behind her.

“You going to finish that?” Soaring Eagle gestured at his plate.

“Yes, I’m going to finish my food. All of you are acting like you’re damn starving.” He sat down, but before he could take another bite, Lilly grabbed his plate.

“Let me heat this for you. There’s fresh coffee coming, too.” She slid his unfinished omelet into a pan then started cutting up more food. “How many more omelets do I need?”

“My nephew is ungrateful thing, not respecting his elders.” Stephan glared at Kizzy’s brother.

Mason snorted. “Get up earlier and maybe you could have gotten one.”

“Not to worry. I’ll have some more made in a few minutes.” Lilly poured fresh coffee into a cup and traded it for Dark Horse’s cold one.

“My daughter could have been one of those famous chiefs you see on TV, but nope, she followed in her momma’s footsteps, becoming a nurse, wanting to help people,” Darvin took a sip of coffee. “When she gets in a baking mood, I gain the pounds.”

Lilly rolled her eyes. “Well, it looks like I’ll have to cut back on the sweets and start making some more healthy things for you.” She pointed her knife at her father.

“Now, you are just being downright mean. I think Dark Horse needs to spank you. I want my molten lava cake.”

“Molten lava cake.” Kizzy shook her head. “Okay, you so need to make that before I leave.”

Lilly flipped the eggs she was making before turning and staring at him. “How about I make a celebration dinner tonight? But I want to go shopping.”

“No.” Dark Horse took a sip of coffee then set down his mug before yanking her onto his lap. “Make a list. I’ll have someone get you whatever you want, but today we are staying here at the house. I lost you yesterday, and I’m not sharing you with the outside world yet. It’s bad enough I have to share with them,” he grumbled, making Running Wolf laugh.

“Now you know how I felt the next day,” Running Wolf, placed his hands on Kizzy’s shoulders.

Kizzy snorted. “Like that stopped you from anything …” She frowned and glanced at Emma. “Never mind.”

“So, all that screaming last…” Emma’s gaze jumped to him then to Lilly who groaned as she got off his lap and returned to the stove.

“Never mind what that was,” Lilly mumbled, as everyone burst out laughing.

“Remember, I have your food here.” Lilly stomped her foot, glaring at them all.

  “Lilly Rose!” Her father growled.

“Your food is ready. Excuse me.” Lilly turned off the stove and headed toward the back door, grabbing a jacket.

“Damn it,” Dark Horse headed to get his boots and coat, but Emma stood in the hallway, eyes flooded with tears.

“I didn’t mean to hurt her. I guess we all have issues.” Emma sniffled.

Dark Horse pulled the teenager into his arms. “It is going to take all of us time to get to know each other. But Lilly needs us both and honey, I think this has just been waiting to come out and has nothing to do with what went on in the kitchen. Now, go finish your breakfast. We don’t want her food to go to waste.” He placed a kiss on the top of her head. “We’ll work this out.” Dark Horse said. “And don’t allow anyone to eat my food.”

She gave him a little smile. Emma needed them as well.

But, first, Dark Horse needed to find his upset woman.

  Chapter Sixteen

Change is the end result of all true learning.

Lilly knew two of Dark Horse’s men followed her, but right now she didn’t give a damn, and she had no idea what the hell was wrong with her.

Hell, she could take a joke, but the tears still rolled down her cheeks as she hugged herself, staring at the creek that ran through the property they occupied.

She took a deep breath and wiped the tears away. All her life, Lilly had known what she wanted, but now nothing made sense. Especially, her feelings for a certain man. Lilly swore if it were the old days, Dark Horse would be riding a horse.

She sat on a stump, staring out at the water, smiling at the mental image of Dark Horse in tight buckskin pants.

She shook her head. “Damn, he’d be even hotter in those.”

“That better be me you are talking about, little flower,” Dark Horse growled, sitting down next to her, before lifting her into his lap. “Now what would I be hot in?”

She laughed and rested her head on his chest. “A pair of buckskin pants, like in the old days. I can so see you with war paint on, riding a horse, getting ready for a raid.”

“I happen to have a few horses and own a few pairs buckskin pants. Although I’ve never been on an actual raid, unless you count what we’ve done for others over the last six years.” He stared down at her. “How can I help?”

Lilly listened to the gurgling sounds of the water hitting the stones and banks.

“I was fine with the joking around, but as I finished making the food…I froze. With everything that has happened I don’t know what to do. For so long I concentrated on living day by day. Before that I took care of Papa and worked. Everything is gone. They took so much. I feel lost.”

/>   “Would you allow me to help? I’m here for you, Lilly.”

“How? You have so much going on, you shouldn’t have to be worrying about me. If this is going to work between us, there has to be balance. You can’t do everything. You’re not Superman.” Lilly glanced up at him, and he smiled.

“You don’t know that. Maybe if I put on my buckskins, you’ll think I’m Superman,” he teased her, hearing two snorts from behind them.

Dark Horse growled. “There will be no comments from the peanut gallery, and I thought we were alone.”

“You were, but Kizzy was worried about Lilly, and we got news about Raining Song’s people.” Running Wolf sat on the other stump, pulling Kizzy down into his lap.

“I still can’t fathom why he would join with Fuzz and his group. It just does not make sense.” Lilly shook her head.

“It would seem Raining Song and a few of his men were indebted to him for gambling and some other things. Black Bull informed me that since his wife died, Raining Song has drifted and couldn’t get back on the right path. His people would like to come here and help with the preparations. It would seem you are to become Chief Dark Horse,” Running Wolf teased him.

“What?” Dark Horse growled, and Lilly couldn’t help but laugh.

“They want to join you here, set up tents and such, storing what they’ll need for the tunnels but getting rid of everything else. They’ve already voted, and not one person objected. How many acres of land are here?”

“Wow?” Lilly looked up at Dark Horse.

“This was a working farm. We just took two and a half acres, but I know the rest is still there, over three hundred and forty, with twenty of it being forest so there is plenty of land. I’ll have Stephan check into purchasing it. We are going to need to speak with the surrounding land owners, too. Lilly since you know pretty much everyone, I will let you find out what you can. Maybe they’d like to help. I’ll also need a list of everyone who lived in town. We need to see if there are more of Fuzz’s men roaming around and what people are doing since most of the town has been damaged.”

  Lilly smiled. “Thank you.”

His nose touched hers as he leaned down. “I will have a list for you of things that need to be accomplished each day. If they aren’t, we can discuss what the problem is.” He grinned. “Kizzy isn’t the only one who likes order.”

Running Wolf nodded. “You know, I think you have the right idea. Maybe having a list will keep this Little Gypsy and out of trouble.”

Both she and Kizzy snorted. “One thing about women is we can do many things at once, so bring on the list, baby, especially if it will help with all that you have going on.” Kizzy said. “Don’t think I don’t hear you at night talking with my idiot family and your men headed to Canada.”

“I think this is why the Great Mother paired us. We’re perfect for each other.” Running Wolf placed a kiss on Kizzy’s cheek.

Lilly frowned, getting up and moving toward the creek. “Is it just me, or is the Earth opening up again?” Dark Horse came up behind her.

“No, I’ve been watching it. Running Wolf, what do you think?”

“I have a feeling the Great Mother is showing us something,” Running Wolf joined them at the creek’s edge.

“Maybe the tunnels we’ve been searching for?” Kizzy said. “If it is, it’s going to be a few days before anyone can explore that with the area soaked from the creek.”

Lilly glanced up at Dark Horse. “Since we have to wait a few days, why not have Raining Song’s people over for a bonfire. We could see how many people we’re talking about and I’d like to invite a few of my friends that I know who will help. Maybe before this trip to New Orleans we can assign some of them different things to accomplish while we are gone?”

Dark Horse wrapped his arms around her and yanked her body against his.

“Wonderful idea. Let’s head back so we can start contacting these people and make plans. Get your pen and paper out, ladies. Your first list of the day is for today.” Dark Horse nipped her nose then swatted her ass. “Let’s go. I’ll have Jay Bird put someone on this area to keep watch.”

  ***

Dark Horse sat on the picnic table, watching as the men from Raining Song’s reservation arrived. Over one hundred and twenty, from what Soaring Eagle had told him when they returned from their walk. All of them insistent that they come over right then and there, that it couldn’t wait.

He shook his head and smiled, remembering what Soaring Eagle had told him and given him a few hours ago. His little flower had actually cried when the man had given him another Eagle feather, telling him he would make a great leader for his people.

“You getting over the old man’s words yet?” Jay Bird sat next to him, watching as men arrived, talking with each other.

“No. How the hell could all of these men accept me for their leader? It’s mind boggling as Emma would say. I mean really let’s be realistic, what do they know of me?” Dark Horse released the breath he was holding.

Two men stepped forward, each carrying a box.

“My name is White Fox, and next to me is Tom Cat. I was the treasurer, and Tom Cat was in charge of the land, assigning homes and such.” White Fox bowed his head.

“A week ago, our medicine man told us a story we didn’t want to believe, but sadly it was true. Our chief had gone against everything that was taught us,” Tom Cat informed him.

“But, three nights ago, each of us“—White Fox waved his hand to encompass the men behind them—“received the same vision about you.” He smiled. “The Great Mother has chosen you as our next leader.” White Fox held up the box for him. “For you.”

The box was long, oddly shaped, and a little bit heavy. He took it from White Fox and opened it to find what appeared to be an ancient shield, made of metal.

“Each chief should have his own shield,” White Fox told him as Dark Horse ran his hand over the engraving. The Dark Horse Clan.

“And each chief should have a headdress.” Tom Cat laid the other box on top of the shied, lifting the lid. “As your medicine man gave you the feather, ours gives you this. He’s been working on it nonstop over the last week.”

Words left him… On one side of the headdress, woven in beads, was a replica of his knife, the same one he was going to have tattooed on Lilly’s back, while on the other side was Soaring Eagle’s mark, showing him as Dark Horse’s father.

Tears filled his eyes. Lilly and Kizzy emerged from the house, offering the men drinks, drawing their attention away from him. He glanced up at his flower, his sun.

“It would seem my son has lost his words. Who is your medicine man? I’d love to meet him and thank him.” Soaring Eagle thumped Dark Horse’s shoulder.

It would seem his family would always take care of him. The men moved aside as an elderly man, using a walking stick made his way toward them.

Dark Horse rose from the table as did Jay Bird, bowing their heads at the man who radiated power. A man much like his Soaring Eagle.

“You honor me and I thank you for gift,” Dark Horse was beyond impressed as the man took headdress.

“I am called, Kaapo Lakely. If you notice, your flower is also part of your life circle. Your flower is the center of you, Dark Horse. Every man here knows…”

Dark Horse held out his hand, enfolding hers.

“As she is your sun, the two of you together are our hope. I see many grandchildren for your father, Soaring Eagle,” Kaapo Lakely told them.

Soaring Eagle snorted. “I better have at least three by the time this is over and I see them again.”

Lilly turned and was going to say something smart, but shook his head. “Not now little flower.” He leaned down and kissed her lips. “Go help Emma. She’s having a rough time. If you need me, yell.” He pushed toward their soon to--be adopted daughter was right now surrounded by a few men, which had her stiff as a board.

“Relax. Lilly will help her. I
m sure she’s just—” Soaring Eagle was saying as one of the men knocked Lilly on her ass, getting to close to Emma

Dark Horse pulled his knife out, heading for the man who dared to touch what was his.

“You have five seconds to tell me why I shouldn’t slice him from ear to ear for touching my family, White Fox,” Dark Horse growled

The offending asshole backed away and dropped to his knees, bowing.

  Dark helped Lilly up.

“Dark Horse, please, it’s not what it appears.” Emma moved to step in front of the man, but Running Wolf grabbed her and pulled her to his side.

“I was dating his son before all of this stuff happened,” Emma informed them.

“And that gives him the right to knock my woman down and threaten you?” Dark Horse demanded.

“No, it does not,” the man on the ground said. “I know it’s not an excuse, and I apologize to you and your woman, but our son is missing. Has been ever since he went to speak with Emma last week.”

Dark Horse slid his arm around Lilly. “Have you seen his son, Emma?”

He shook her head. “I told him to stay away. It was getting bad, and I didn’t want him hurt.” Tears ran down her cheek. “But he wouldn’t listen.”

Kizzy approached, holding her daughter. “He’s not dead, but I can’t see where he is.”

“He found our tunnels, or at least another way in. He’s hurt, but if we can find him, I think he’ll be okay.” Lilly tapped her finger on his arm.

“Really? You think Chris Tom is still alive?” Emma smiled.

Lilly held out her hand. “Come. While the men discuss how to find him, we can make sandwiches and stuff for them.”

Dark Horse nipped her ear. “The man should be gutted.”

“The man was worried about his son as you would be if we had a son, right?”

Dark Horse put his knife away, to the sound of sighs. “Chicken shits.” He swatted her butt and kissed the top of Emma’s head, before turning to the man who still knelt before him.

“Get up. What is your name so I have it in case there is another incident?” Dark Horse punched the man in the nose as soon as he stood up. “Next time you have a problem with Emma, you come to me. She’s my daughter, now.”
