Bruce Page 54

by Peter Ames Carlin

Bruce Springsteen made it clear that the only thing I owed him was an honest account of his life. He welcomed me into his world, spoke at great length on more than a few occasions, and worked overtime to make sure I had all the tools I’d need to do my job. Thanks for that, Bruce. And for everything else, too.

The final word goes to my kids, Anna, Teddy, and Max, whose music, light, and laughs give me all the hope I need. Thanks for sharing it all with me (and Mom too), and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Oh wait. The real final word, and maybe the biggest thanks of all, go to my wife, Sarah Carlin Ames, for making it possible for me to go all in on this one, come what may. And for thinking up the title, too.
