Don't Shoot...I'm a Werebear Page 6

by Angelique Voisen

“What are you thinking of?” Barry murmured against me.

“You. Us. How good we are together.”

  “Dirty thoughts?”

Laughing, I punched his shoulder. My bear grunted, pinning my hands above my head. I thought we’d be going for round three, but instead, he laced his fingers with mine and took my mouth. His kiss this time tasted of promises and new beginnings.

Today, we’d closed both our doors to the past and opened a new one together. We’d find our home soon, and build a den. I saw kids in our future, maybe a sullen boy who looked like Barry and a cheerful little girl with his eyes. We’d get a surrogate. How would it be, raising were-bear cubs?

“No, happy ones.” I kissed his cheek. “Have I told you how much I love you, baby?”

“I never get sick of it hearing those three words, Zack.”

“Good, because I can’t get enough of saying them.”
