An Amazing Rescue Page 4

by Chloe Ryder

P: Cloud is the new Cloud! She is her own pony and I’m sure she’ll fulfill her duties admirably.

TI: But she’s always been the grumpiest of the Royal Ponies!

P: I believe there’s good in all ponies, and I suspect that Cloud has been misunderstood by some of us. She craves a life of adventure and travel. Being cooped up in Stableside Castle, with its many rules, was too stifling for such a life-loving pony.

TI: I’ve never thought about it like that.

P: You never truly know a pony until you step into their horseshoes, young Tulip Inkhoof.

TI: And please tell us how you met Pippa MacDonald? I understand that you helped her retrieve the first magical horseshoe?

P: Yes, I noticed that Pippa and Stardust were searching for something in the foothills of the Volcano and I spotted something sparkly on a ledge. Luckily Pippa realised that I was trying to point it out to them.

TI: You’ve got to know Pippa over the past few days, haven’t you? Can you offer us any insights about her?

P: Pippa is very loyal to her friends and those in need. I’ve been very impressed with her, especially this morning when I told her that she was free to return home if she wanted and that it would be safer for her there. She chose to stay and honour her promise to help Chevalia. The island needs bravery like hers now more than ever.

TI: Well, Peggy, thank you so much for taking the time to talk to us. I hope you’re enjoying being back on solid ground!

  CHEVALIA’S

  LAST DAY?

  By Tulip Inkhoof

Tomorrow is Midsummer Day, the longest day of the year. But instead of celebrating in the traditional way, Chevalia is gripped by the fear that this Midsummer may be its last.

Pippa MacDonald, the real, live human girl, and Princess Stardust, the foal of the Royal Family, have recovered seven of the missing golden horseshoes. However, according to the ancient scrolls, without all eight horseshoes in place on the Whispering Wall by sundown on Midsummer Day, their magic can’t be renewed and Chevalia will be no more.

Many ponies on the island are anxious and scared, but this reporter has faith. I believe that Pippa and Stardust will find the final missing horseshoe and save Chevalia.

Be sure to check back tomorrow to discover whether Pippa and Stardust succeed in their quest.
