And tonight was the one day out of the year where all this was evident even if one wasn’t looking.
Eros tilted his head toward Psyche. “I have a surprise.”
She turned her face to look at him. “For me?” She chuckled. “Tell me you managed to get us a table tonight, ‘cause I must confess I was so busy I forgot to make reservations.”
He laughed. “Don’t worry, I have a very special dinner planned, but that’s not the surprise.” He tugged on her hand. “Come. This way.” He led her down a side alley, then turned into the next street. Here, too, restaurants were catering to lovers. In the middle of the block he stopped and gripped Psyche’s shoulders, turning her so she could look across the narrow street at the restaurant opposite.
“Do you recognize the woman at the table on the balcony?”
A few seconds passed, then Psyche said excitedly, “Mrs. Lloyd. Oh my god!”
Eros smiled and followed her gaze. There, at a table for two sat the old lady for whom Psyche had planted her husband’s grave for free. But she wasn’t alone. Opposite her sat a distinguished older gentleman. He gazed at her with adoration.
Psyche turned her head to look at Eros, her hand clasping his. “You did that?”
He nodded. “She still loves Albert. She always will. But she also loves this man. He’s good to her. She’ll be very happy with him, and he with her. She’ll never want for anything else.”
“Thank you, thank you so much.” Psyche’s eyes turned moist and she sniffled. “Look at what you’re doing to me. I’m a watering pot.”
Eros chuckled and leaned in from behind. “It’s just the hormones, gorgeous.” Then he slid his hand over her round belly, where his son was growing big and strong. “Just two more months, and you’ll be just like before.” He kissed her neck. “Though I can’t promise that this will be your last pregnancy. We have that big house, you know, so much space for kids.”
She laughed softly. “And I suppose it has nothing to do with the fact that you just love to see me fat and unable to move much.”
Eros grinned. “It’s one way of making sure you can’t run away from me.”
Psyche laid her hand over his. “I’m not going anywhere without you.”
Just then, his son kicked in Psyche’s belly. “That’s my boy. Already he’s agreeing with his father.”
Psyche laughed. “I think he was trying to tell you that it’s time to feed his mother.”
Eros released her, then took her hand again. “Well then.” He walked her to the next alley and headed for a dark corner. Then he glanced around and made sure that nobody saw them. As soon as he was certain that they had privacy, he wrapped his arms around Psyche and teleported them away.
Moments later, they were on the terrace of Eros’s villa on Mount Olympus. It was still dark here, though the sun would rise in a few hours. His servants had prepared a feast for them, and the terrace was decorated with every splendor the gods had at their disposal: fireflies to light the terrace, eternal flames to chase away the cold chill in the air, and chairs made of clouds so soft they felt like cotton wool.
Psyche gazed at the display, then smiled back at him. “You spoil me so much.”
Eros slid his hand under her chin and moved his face to within inches of hers. “Because I love you so much.”

About the Author
Tina Folsom was born in Germany and has been living in English speaking countries for over 25 years, the last 14 of them in San Francisco, where she’s married to an American.
Tina has always been a bit of a globe trotter: after living in Lausanne, Switzerland, she briefly worked on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean, then lived a year in Munich, before moving to London. There, she became an accountant. But after 8 years she decided to move overseas.
In New York she studied drama at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, then moved to Los Angeles a year later to pursue studies in screenwriting. This is also where she met her husband, who she followed to San Francisco three months after first meeting him.
In San Francisco, Tina worked as a tax accountant and even opened her own firm, then went into real estate, however, she missed writing. In 2008 she wrote her first romance and never looked back.
She’s always loved vampires and decided that vampire and paranormal romance was her calling. She now has 30 novels in English and over three dozens in other languages (Spanish, German, and French).
