Aadarsh smiled. “He’s right, you can’t beat that logic. And I love you too, Nalini. I wouldn’t have married you otherwise, as you very well know.”

Nalini turned left and right to look at the two most important men in her life. “But neither of you will miss me if I’m not around.”

Nishaan laughed. “Says who? Who will make me toe the line? Who will scold me day after day? Who…?”

Nalini punched her son on his arm, a smile breaking out on her face. “Is that what I do? Be a strict mother?”

“No, I also need your love and blessings. I can’t survive without that.”

“Aww, I love you, my son. You know that only too well.”

“Of course, I do. Though I like to hear you say that sometimes.”

Aadarsh grinned, lifting the magazine and handing it to his son. “Your Chaahat sure is a super model.”

“Isn’t she?!” Nishaan had a proud smile on his face as he looked at the woman rising out of the sea, looking like a sea nymph. He had been present at that particular shoot in Greece. And what they hadn’t told anyone was that the lover with the hidden features was actually Nishaan. He pressed his lips to the picture, adoring Chaahat more and more.

“So, when do you plan to get married?”

“Let me see.” Nishaan placed a finger on his chin as if he was thinking deeply before turning to look at his mother. “When I’m thirty-two and that’s five years from the coming Saturday.”

Though Nalini didn’t like the idea at all, today’s chat with the men in her life had taught her something new—that love and ego could never go hand in hand. She let go of her ego to give her unconditional love to her son as she nodded her acceptance and was rewarded with another kiss from her only child.

On Friday midnight, Nishaan cut a birthday cake with his parents and took a flight to Mumbai the next day at mid-morning, where Chaahat was busy with her shoot. He wanted to spend the rest of his twenty-seventh birthday with his fiancée.

“You go on home and wait for me. I’ll try to get away as soon as I can,” Chaahat promised just before his flight took off.

“Done.” Nishaan leaned back in his seat and shut his eyes, a happy smile on his face. He couldn’t wait to meet Chaahat. Just now, both were at an exciting period in their lives. He was busy with the CSR project that he had put both his heart and soul into, and she with her modelling career that was spanning across the globe now. She had landed a contract with a high-end make-up brand that wanted her to travel across Australia over the next three months. Distance wasn’t a problem for the love birds though as their hearts beat as one. And Nishaan had no issues travelling to her whenever he could take a few days off. It was a boon that his father was totally fit and able to manage the company very well, even in Nishaan’s absence. They also had a great team of people working for them, the number having increased since the vice president took his post.

Nishaan let himself into Chaahat’s flat and was pleasantly surprised to have her jump into his arms. “Happy birthday, my Shaan,” she said, clinging to him.

“What a lovely surprise!” Nishaan kissed her thoroughly, hugging her close.

She moved away a couple of inches and struck a pose. His jaw dropped when he saw her wearing the sea blue costume that she had been clicked in for the magazine’s centrefold. Only that now there was no bikini beneath it.

He drooled as he pounced on her, his hands cupping her breasts over the diaphanous costume. “You look good enough to eat.”

  “So, what’s stopping you?”

The lion roared, lifting his Chaahat up in his arms, carrying her the few steps to the bed. “You look so cute in that transparent piece that I don’t feel like taking it off,” he insisted, pulling off his own clothes in a hurry as his gaze studied the woman lying on her back.

“So, don’t. You don’t really need to if you see.”

“I can see, I really can.” He grinned at her, slipping out of his clothes in record time to lie down next to her, a finger tracing the engorged tip of her breast as he bent down to take the other teat into his mouth along with the garment.

“Ooh! That feels so good.” The rasp of the cloth along with his mouth and tongue drove her wild with need. “Don’t stop, Shaan.”

“Never,” he promised, a hand probing the folds of her vagina, growling with satisfaction when he found her wet and ready. “Miss me?” he asked, spreading her legs wide before settling between them, his torso scraping against her sensitised breasts and belly.

“Yes, whenever you aren’t around. But the brief times that we get to be together, Shaan, they compensate for every day that you aren’t there.”

“Same with me,” he grunted, burying himself inside her. “You feel so good, babe.”

  “As do you, my Shaan.”

It wasn’t long before they reached out to the pinnacle as one—yeah, the lamb and the lion were absolutely in love with one another and really didn’t need the rest of the world.
