“Want anything from the concessions stand? Or maybe you want to come with?” Kylie purred into my ear, wrapping an arm around my neck. I shrugged off her hand and answered with a shake of my head. I hadn’t spoken a word to her since the game started and I was constantly removing her hands, but she still wasn’t getting the hint. I was relieved when she finally left and I looked down to see that Ben had finally left Paige alone for the first time all night. Unfortunately, Kitty had one arm looped through Paige’s, as she answered her phone with the other and I listened to the one sided conversation.

“Hey Dad, what’s going on?...No, we’re at the game…It’s normally not this quiet, halftime just started and the band hasn’t started yet…Yeah, I know nothing like a baseball game…Oh, really?...Are you sure?...I’m sure I’ll figure out something…Don’t feel bad…Okay, love you. I’ll talk to you soon.

A small frown was playing over her lips as she tucked her phone away and Kitty leaned in to ask what was wrong. “Oh my dad just said he’s going to be out of town for Thanksgiving.” She pursed her lips like she was deep in thought, staring out at the field that was quickly filling up again with the band.

“It’s just so weird, holidays have always been a big thing for us since my mom died. He hasn’t missed one yet and he normally goes all out. He suggested I go to Jake’s, but his mom has always hated me for some reason and I know it would be uncomfortable. Maybe I’ll just head home anyway and cook a frozen dinner or something.”

Kitty planted a hand on her hip and narrowed her green eyes at Paige. “Absolutely not. You will be coming home with me, don’t even try to argue, I won’t have it. Mama will love to have you.”

And my night just got a whole lot better, knowing that I would be spending the holidays with Paige. But once again, it was turned upside down when a Florida player climbed the railing right in front of Paige at the end of the game, removing his helmet and grinning widely at her with a megawatt smile.

One guess and I knew this had to be the one and only Jake Niles. And I wasn’t a chick or anything, but I saw the way all of them were looking when Paige wrapped her arms around him with a squeal, literally making me cringe. I guess the douchebag and I agreed on one thing, the look of disgust on his face almost made me smirk. Almost. The guy definitely hadn’t been beaten with the ugly stick.

  Chapter 14

  Paige

“I can’t believe you’re finally here!” Jake wrapped me in a tight hug after exiting the locker room, lifting my feet off the ground, and twirling me around.

I had parted ways with Ben after the game, letting him know that I was meeting up with Jake afterwards. He wasn’t too happy, but surprisingly didn’t put up too much of a fight. I still hadn’t brought myself to break up with him, but I knew it had to be done. I was just going to wait until after Jake left. I wanted our time together to be fun.

“Mmm baby girl.” He inhaled deeply with his nose buried in my hair. “I’ve missed that smell.” He sat me back down on my feet and took a step back to look at me, letting out a low whistle.

“Damn, college life has been good to you. I don’t remember ever seeing you in a dress.” His blue eyes flicked over me slowly and for the first time since being best friends with Jake, I felt self- conscious.

It seemed like he had changed somewhat too. His bleach blonde hair was even longer, swept over to the side, but showing off those blue eyes that were always so intense and different from mine. And I swear he had gotten even taller.

“Well you look pretty good yourself.” I felt a blush creeping up on my cheeks the minute the words left my lips. Since when did we start checking each other out? This was the guy I had played in the mud with, the guy who I rode bikes with down to the creek and swam with for hours, the guy who had taught me how to properly throw a football.

“So are you ready to go? I figured we could drop your stuff off at my room and then head over to a party my roommate’s sorority is having. Sound okay?”

“Sounds great, lead the way.” He shifted his duffle bag onto his shoulder and we made the short walk over to my dorm. After dropping his stuff off, we headed towards Greek Village that was filled with sprawling southern mansions.

The first time Kitty had taken me over there for a party, I had been completely awestruck. I had expected some run down houses, filled with frat boys, but that wasn’t the case. The houses were absolutely beautiful and I was sort of wishing that I had joined Kitty for rush when she asked me too.

“Do you think I’m dressed alright for this?” He held his hands out in front of him and I glanced over, taking in his outfit, which consisted of loose cargo shorts and a blue polo shirt that matched his eyes perfectly. All of the girls would be flocking to him the minute we walked in.

“Yeah, you look fine. At least you’re not wearing any of your Florida gear; they probably wouldn’t let you in the door.”

“Oh, yeah?” he asked nudging me in the side with his elbow. “Well if I remember correctly you used to have quite a bit of Florida gear yourself.”

“Ah, semantics.” I laughed as his fingers dug in to my ribs and he started to tickle my whole body. He knew how sensitive I was when it came to that and how much I hated it, but he did it anyway. It literally felt like I was dying and I finally made it out of his grasp, bent over at the stomach trying to catch my breath. “Asshole,” I murmured out. “I feel like I can barely walk.”

“Here I think I can help you out with that.” He turned his back to me and hunched his shoulders slightly, waiting. “Jakey, I have a dress on…..”

“So what? I’m not looking and if anyone does, I’ll beat the shit out of ‘em. Hop on.”

“Alright, fine.” I wrapped my legs around his waist and held on tight, knowing that his rides were always rough. I swear he tried to make me fall off half the time.

“So that guy at the football game was Ben, the boyfriend?” He followed my pointing finger, not even out of breath from the added weight. “Well for now,” I huffed out. “I’m breaking up with him; I just haven’t gotten the nerve to do it yet.”

“Well I guess you haven’t changed that much,” he laughed out loud, setting me down on the front porch of the house that belonged to Kitty’s sorority. “You’re always worried about everyone else’s feelings, Paigey. Sometimes you just have to follow your heart and do what feels right.”

“Oh really?” I quirked an eyebrow at him while smoothing out my dress. “Since when did Jake Niles get so philosophical?”

“Well you know you aren’t the only one who’s done some growing up. Sometimes you just have to cease the opportunity when it’s handed to you.” He reached out to tuck a loose curl behind my ear and his finger brushed against my cheek.

Strange feelings washed over me that I had never felt before around Jake and they were starting to freak me out. Luckily, another group of people showed up, brushing past us and interrupting our moment.

“C’mon, I want to officially introduce you to my roommate. I know she’s here somewhere.” We walked through the front door and into the first level that was crowded with people. I waved to a few girls I recognized that Kitty had introduced me to, while looking for the familiar blonde head belonging to my roommate.

My eyes scanned the room and finally landed on Kitty, who had situated herself on top of a table in the middle of the room and was shaking her ass for anyone who would watch. Apparently, someone had started drinking right away. I pushed through mostly frat boys who were watching the entertainment, while tugging Jake behind me.

“Kitty, what in the hell are you doing?” I yelled out, cupping my hands so she could hear me over the music. She finally looked down and her glossy eyes lit up when she saw me.

“Paige, get up here, let’s give these boys a show.” I felt hands pushing me forward to help me up but I shook my head and pulled on her hand. “No thanks, maybe later. Come here, I want to introduce you to Jake.” I tilted my head behind me and Kitty let out a giggle as she dropped to her k
nees to slide off the table.

“So nice to finally meet you, Jake Niles. You’re all our Paige talks about and I’ve been swooning over your picture ever since she put it next to her bed. I swear she kisses that thing every night before she goes to bed.” Jake’s eyes grew wide with amusement as his gaze flicked back to me.

“Oh really? And what else does she say about me?” I rolled my eyes, pulling back as the two went into a deep conversation. “I’m going to go grab a drink.” But I don’t think either one of them heard me. I had no idea what in the hell Kitty was talking about, she was clearly delusional.

I got a cup full of beer from the makeshift bar in the kitchen and went back out to the dance floor, leaning against the wall to find Jake and Kitty, but didn’t see either one of them anywhere.

“Hey Sparky.” Warm breath tickled against my ear and every sense in my body became heightened instantly. “Hi,” I whispered out, turning to lean a hip against the wall and connect with those deep brown eyes that I had missed all day.

“Where’s Ben, did you finally get rid of him?” He took a drink and licked his lips, which made my mouth instantly water.

“No,” I answered back, shifting nervously on my feet. “Not yet, I just felt so guilty and he seemed to be having such a good time, I didn’t want to ruin it. But he’s not here. I told him I was going out with Jake, so he took off.”

“Oh, so what about things with us? Did your feelings change or something?” A hurt look flashed across his face and I couldn’t help but reach out and run a hand over his. “Of course not, apparently I just have a hard time hurting people’s feelings.”

“Well that’s not always a bad thing. I guess I’m being selfish when I say in this case, that I don’t really care. Where’s the golden boy at? I figured he would be attached to your hip.”

“You mean Jake?” I asked with a laugh. That nickname was actually kind of perfect for Jake. “He went off somewhere with Kitty.”

“Really? The guy must be pretty dumb then. If it was me I would be spending every minute I could with you.” He tugged on my hand and started me pulling down a hallway. “Come on,” he yelled over his shoulder. “I need to show you where the bathroom is.”

“But I don’t need…” My thoughts trailed off as a smile crossed my lips, thinking of just what he was taking me to the bathroom for. He shut the door behind us, immediately locking it and caging me against the door.

“I missed you so much. What are you doing to me?” he groaned out before attacking my mouth with his. His hands found the hem of my dress and he slid it up over my head. “I’ve wanted to see you like this all day.” He took a step back and his hungry eyes roamed over my body, making me feel like one of the sexiest girls in the world with his heated eyes. “Are you attached to these?” He whispered against my lips, while his fingers traced the outside of my panties.

“Um…not really?” As soon as the words left my mouth, a rip echoed through the bathroom and the fabric of my panties fell to the floor. His warm hands moved to around my waist, lifting me off the floor and settled me onto the countertop.

He stepped in between my legs and I wrapped my legs around him that were still covered by my boots. His mouth devoured mine while his fingers slowly began to thrust in and out of me, his thumb finding that one spot that brought me right to the edge. “This is mine,” he grunted out in a husky voice against my lips, while cupping me. “Understand?”

I felt my head bobbing up and down in answer; his words were controlling, something I wasn’t used to, but somehow turning me on even more.

“No one else’s,” he said against my lips, grinding his hardness into me roughly. My trembling hands fumbled awkwardly between us, finding the button on his shorts and pulling them down, along with his boxers. He sprung out hard and warm against my belly.

“Please Dylan,” I moaned out, arching my hips to try to pull him closer to me. I felt so close to the edge, wanting to feel that pure bliss that I knew was coming. His fingers slid out of me and I braced myself for what was to come, but it didn’t. I opened my eyes, his brown ones staring down at me, filled with such lust were almost black.

“Say it Paige.” Say what? I tried pulling him closer but he didn’t budge, his feet froze into place. “Say what you want me to do.” Oh, that’s what he wanted. He wanted me to hear how much I wanted him, how much I needed him. Well, I had no problem with that. “Fuck me, Dylan.”

  Chapter 15

  Dylan

“Fuck me, Dylan,” she breathed out in a soft voice and I swear my dick got even harder when she said it. Her soft hand reached out to grip me, tugging up and down, and she arched those sweet hips of hers off the bathroom counter. I couldn’t wait another minute.

I stilled her hips with my hands and sank in slowly, her tightness wrapping around me like a glove as we both let out a deep groan. “Dylan, this feels so right with you.” Her eyes squeezed shut and her legs wrapped tightly around me, pulling me into her deeper.

My hands moved up her sides, over her breasts and into her hair. I leaned my forehead against hers. “Open your eyes, baby.” Her wide blue eyes locked with mine and the look she had drove me wild. I began to drive into her even harder as her hips worked in a circular motion that made me even crazier.

Every time I was with Paige I wanted to take things slowly, to enjoy every minute but I couldn’t help myself. I slammed into her over and over, her low sweet moans filled the tiny space. I sucked on her neck, while her head was thrown back and we panted together. I could feel her squeezing around me and I quickened my pace even more to bring her over the edge. “Dylan,” she yelled out bringing me closer to her but not close enough. Not even close. I collapsed against her, both of us breathing heavily. “You alright, baby?”

“More than alright,” she answered back. “That was…incredible. Exactly what I needed.” I slowly pulled out of her and helped her down. She pulled her dress back down and I helped her smooth out her hair, placing one last kiss on her bruised lips. I just couldn’t get enough of this girl.

We walked back out to the party and she quickly found Jake. I watched as he flicked his gaze back and forth between Paige and I. Paige had a red blush to her cheeks and anyone could clearly tell what she had been doing. “Jake this is Dylan, an um…a friend of mine. He lives with two of Kitty’s brothers.” I reached out a hand and he shook mine with a tighter grip than necessary, narrowing his eyes at me.

“Nice to meet you. Well, I’ll catch you guys later; I have a few people to meet up with.” Paige’s eyes are questioning as I threw them a wave and I give her a big wink to reassure her.

I just needed to get out of this place. I really couldn’t see another guy’s hands on Paige tonight. Especially, not after what we just did. It took everything in me not just to grab her and take her home with me, locking her in my bedroom right where she belonged.

“Hey Chris, I’m heading home buddy.” I patted him on the back where he stood on the dance floor with Claire’s body wrapped around his. Clearly, the two of them made up. “You sure?” He gave me a strange look and looked behind me. “Aren’t you leaving a little early? Where’s the flavor of the night?”

“Nah, I’m tired. I’ll catch you in the morning.” I said bye to a few other friends and headed out to the beater mobile but not before being sidelined by Sara. What the fuck was she even doing here? This type of thing really wasn’t her scene. I looked around for witnesses, thinking she was up to something.

“Hey Dylan,” she said quietly. “Can we talk for a minute?” I leaned against my car and folded my arms over my chest, waiting in silence to listen to her bitching. She fiddled with her red hair before nervously starting.

“I just wanted to say sorry for how I acted. I always get a little crazy when it comes to you. I knew you were never really serious with me and I guess I just wanted you to be. I hope we can still be friends.”

“Thanks,” I quietly replied, feeling guilty that I hadn’t ever took her feelings int
o consideration when I started this thing up with her. “And I’m sorry too, for how I acted. As for being friends, that’s all I can ever really be with you from now, we can’t go back to our old relationship we had together.”

She gave me a sad smile and said, “I know, I can tell there’s another girl, one that seems to make you happy. Just be gentle with her heart, Dylan.”

She walked away leaving me behind to lean against my car. I might have treated girls like shit in the past but Paige was different. I would do anything I had to, to prove to her just how special she is and no one was going to get in my way of that.

  Chapter 16

  Paige

“Hey, you ready to get out of here?” Jakes leaned down to whisper in my ear, after I followed Dylan with my eyes and he walked out the front door. I hated to see him leave, but I wasn’t going to ditch my best friend. “I have to be up really early to meet up with the team and I wanted to spend a little bit of alone time with you.”

“Sure.” I said goodbye to Kitty who insisted that she needed to stay the night with a friend of hers, so Jake and I could have the place to ourselves. I rolled my eyes when she had told me, even though I told her all the time that our relationship wasn’t like that.

I flipped on the lights to our room and instantly Jake burst out laughing. “Oh my god, there’s so much pink. How do you live like this?”

“Well,” I said, sitting down on the edge of my bed to pull off my boots. Those things were freaking killing my feet and I really never wanted to put them on again. Maybe Dylan would want them as a souvenir since he seemed to like them so much. “It’s not too bad, I’ve gotten used to it. As you can see I’ve changed a little bit.”
