“Woman, don’t let this business persona fool you. It can get as gangsta as it needs to be. Especially for a diamond like you.”

“Let’s just take this time to get to know each other better,” I said as I stood up and removed my dress.

I was now ass naked in front of him. I hadn’t had dick in so long, and this could be my chance. I damn near had forgotten how it felt, and I wanted to feel him in the privacy of my own home. I was ready to risk it all for a taste of this chocolate.

He stood up, gave me the once over and smiled. “I don’t want to fuck you. I want to make love to you. And I can’t do that until you belong to me and only me,” he said as he leaned over to kiss me.

Then he left out the front door.

I stood there naked and horny for a good thirty minutes, not believing that he’d just left.

  Chapter Thirty-Two

  Milo

  The next morning…

“Bitch, tell me all about the place when you get off,” Pinky said to me over the phone.

I was sitting in the car and waiting on to go inside.

“Okay, bye, I’ll call you on my break,” I said as I fixed my lipstick in the mirror.

“Okay, be safe. Love you,” she said.

“Love you too,” I said then hung up.

I started to contemplate if I had overdressed. I had on a white button-up shirt with a green skirt that came just to my knees. To complement my outfit, I had on some tan Jessica Simpson Malia pumps. The only jewelry that I sported was a tan velvet choker necklace. I didn’t like perfume; it was too strong on my body. So I had some soft, peach body spray. I had listened to Divine and took the color out of my hair. It was now jet black and bone straight.

I looked up and saw that it was now 8 a.m., so I got out of my car and walked inside. Though the dealership didn’t open until two hours from now, I had to get started on my training. When I stepped inside, it seemed the entire dealership stopped everything that they were doing. Then Ali walked up and laughed. He had to have noticed that all eyes were on me too.

“Let me take you to my office. I want to introduce you to Trudy. She will be training you.”

“Who will be my immediate supervisor?” I asked as I followed him down the long hallway until we got to the very last office. All offices were glass and see through except for his.

“We don’t have those here. I have two managers who manage this place. Trudy will just be the one to train you for two weeks.”

“So, if I have problems, who do I go to?” I asked as I sat down.

“Gary or Selma. Those two are my managers. I’ll introduce you to them later,” he said before a black young lady walked in. She looked to be around the same age as me. Very attractive as well.

“Hey, you paged me?” she asked him.

“Come in and have a seat. Shut the door please,” Ali said as he did something on his computer.

“Sure,” she said and walked over in her two-piece skirt suit. Her heels clicked loudly.

I looked down and saw that they were BCBG heels. Her hair was cut into a short and curly hairstyle. Her complexion was dark and gorgeous. If this didn’t work out, she could’ve easily been a model.

“Milo, this is Trudy. Trudy, this is Milo.” When he introduced us, we smiled and shook hands.

“I saw you come in to fill out your hiring papers. I tried to stop you and compliment you on your shoes, but you hurried out of here. I’ve heard great things about you,” she said with a bright smile.

  “Wow, really? Thanks so much.”

Ali smiled. “As I have explained to Trudy, you will only train for two weeks, and then you will be let on your own…”

He went on to explain about how I got paid and what percentages I got from selling cars. If I played my cards right, I would have more money in my pocket from this than I did with dancing. And the fact that he had programs that paid for tuition made me more flabbergasted. I would be tired as hell from working all day and going to school, but it didn’t matter.

“Gotcha, boss,” Trudy said when he finished talking.

“Any questions?” he asked, looking at both of us.

“Not from me,” Trudy said, looking over at me and smiling.

“Great. I will talk to Milo for a brief second and I will send her to your office. Is that fine?” he asked.

“Of course.” She stood up and walked out.

“I strongly urge you to utilize my tuition reimbursement program. I feel that it will be great for you,” he said.

  “It will be.”

“I want to ask a personal question,” he said as he stood up and closed the door.

“Yes?” I asked as he went back to sit down.

“What do you want to do in life?” he asked.

“You know what’s so embarrassing? I don’t even know.”

“I can see you as a great salesperson. Ever thought about going into real estate too?”

When he said that, it opened my mind as to why he said it. I had been selling all of this time. Whether it was drugs or ass, but I did it well. So why not do it in a more respectable and legal way? “No, but I will.”

“Great. And whenever you decide, come to me. If I’m not around, go to Gary or Selma.” He stood up and opened the door for me to follow him. “I’m not here every day. Sometimes I go weeks and not come into the office because of other things, but I have an open door policy. I give all of my employees my personal email, so if you feel that Selma or Gary isn’t professionally handling situations, email me.”

“So what happens if I struggle to sell?” I asked as we neared the receptionist desk.

He laughed and fixed his tie. “What do you think would happen?”

“I don’t know. Don’t people get fired for that?” I asked.

“When jobs threaten employees to be fired for not selling, it’s to get them to literally sell their asses off. It’s a micro-management tool that’s ineffective. It creates a hostile work environment because everyone is so scared all the time. I don’t want that. I’d rather get to the bottom of the problem and fix it. A lot of times, it’s not even the associate, it can simply be the economy. Either way, don’t worry about that.”

“You’re awesome,” I said in excitement.

“So I’ve been told,” he joked. Then he got on the intercom and beeped for Gary and Selma.

I couldn’t wait to tell Divine how cool her man was.

  Chapter Thirty-Three

  Neiman

“Where have you been?” Glory asked as he walked into the condo and sat on the couch.

  “I just needed some time.”

“Have you been poppin’ pills?” he asked with his eyes locked on me.

I turned back around to face the TV so I could lie more effectively. “No.”

  “Wow.”

  “What?” I asked.

“You’re changing. Can’t believe you just lied to me.”

“Why are you here?” I asked him as I grew frustrated.

“So, you don’t want me around now? Is that it? Shit, I can leave.”

“Glory, go home to Pinky. I’m sure she’s waiting on you.”

“So this is what you tripping on? Neiman, a nigga just want you to be good. You kinda falling off the deep edge right now, and it’s crazy,” he said as he stood up and grabbed his keys.

I wasn’t about to stop him either. Shit, he could leave. I had other plans anyway.

  “Okay.”

“You don’t even see what’s going on, do you?” he asked.

  “What?”

“Bye, Neiman.” He left right out the front door.

As soon as the door closed, I hopped up and locked it. Then I called AJ.

“Neiman, you can’t be calling me,” he said the minute he picked up the phone.

  “Why not?”

“It’s not safe,” he said then took a deep breath.

  “Come see me.”

“What? Are you listening to a word I’m saying?” he asked.

&nb
sp; “I hear you, and I don’t care, AJ. Come see me.”

“I’ght, man. Give me twenty minutes.”

  Chapter Thirty-Four

  AJ

Neiman just didn’t get it, but I would explain it to her later. I grabbed the keys to the rental and opened the door to my motel room so that I could leave. Malina was standing right there.

“Ah, hell,” I said as I threw my keys on the bed and turned back around. I knew she would fuss.

“I told you I was coming,” she said as she shut the door and walked in.

“What is it?” I asked as I plopped on the rusty couch that sat in front of the broken air conditioner.

“You raped my cousin, AJ. Are you fucking serious? And you’re in cahoots with that fuck nigga Percy?”

“I don’t know what to say, Malina. Shit, on the cool, I really don’t feel like hearing this shit.”

  “But why?” she asked.

I forced a smile. “What did you think would happen? I hate Divine’s guts. What? You thought I would just yell and it would be okay?”

“But I didn’t know you were fucking trying to kill her!”

“Man, that nigga Percy ain’t trying to kill her. He wants that mula, and that’s it.”

“Bullshit. He almost blew her fucking head off at her meeting.”

“And I wasn’t here then. That shit ain’t have nothing to do with me.”

“Well, you sure are nonchalant about this shit right now.”

  “Because I don’t care.”

“So why rape Neiman?” she asked.

“First of all, Neiman wanted that shit.”

She laughed. “She was drugged up. Are you kidding me?”

“Bitch, then why I’m on my way to her now? She just invited me to her place. I tried to blackmail her for money last night and she caught on to who it was. She made me fuck her again.”

  “Whoa.”

  “Yeah, nigga.”

  “Prove it.”

“Bitch, just pay attention to her. She ain’t all there right now. She got some serious issues that need to be resolved, my nigga. That’s the only reason I didn’t kill her ass last night. Hell, the bitch damn near begged me to off her ass.”

“Really?” Malina asked with a sad look on her face.

  “Really, bro.”

“I heard she been on them mollies real bad.”

“She on something. That hoe ain’t scared of shit right about now.”

“Damn. This shit crazy.” She sat down on the table and played with her keys.

“What’s wrong? You sad now? Bitch, please.”

“It’s not that. It’s just that… man… I don’t know. I can’t believe she begged you to kill her. But she has been kinda off ever since we lost Nyssa.”

  “Word.”

“Have you seen PJ?” Malina asked.

“Hell nah. Why would I want to see him?”

“You don’t know do you?” she asked.

  “Huh?”

“PJ. He’s your son. Nyssa confessed to it before she passed.”

  “Quit lying, hoe.”

“As a matter of fact, ask Neiman when you get to her.”

  “Yo, what the fuck?”

  “I know, huh?”

My phone started to ring. It was Percy. I didn’t answer. “You think Percy know?” I asked.

“Percy knows that the baby isn’t his. I’m sure. I don’t think Bishop ever told him about PJ being yours.”

“Damn, shit weird as fuck in Miami. I might need to go back to Texas.”

  “Yeah, I think you should.”

I smirked. “Oooooh. You want me to leave now? Shit too real for you, huh?” I asked.

She started to look uncomfortable. “I mean… I was mad when I flew you out here, and then you with Percy. I just can’t do this anymore. I can’t let anything happen to Divine, all because of small shit. I was trippin’.”

“It’s too late for that, lil’ baby. You already face deep. Might as well watch shit unfold.”

“Be careful, AJ. Be very careful,” she said before leaving.

I wish I had the silencer on my strap. I would’ve killed her sneaky ass. Ol’ wish washy ass. I didn’t trust people like her. Ain’t no telling what she had up her sleeve.

I grabbed my keys and opened the door again so I could leave, and Percy was standing right there. What the fuck?

“Where you going?” he asked as he looked over my shoulder.

I threw my keys on the bed again and sat back down. “Nowhere at all,” I said as I leaned back and put my hands over my face.

“So what’s up? What happened with Neiman? Did she tell you any info?”

  “When?”

He looked at me like I was crazy. “Last night, nigga.”

  “Oh, I didn’t go,” I lied.

“Why not, nigga? You the closest we gonna get to that hoe and her money. The more time you waste, the more she building forces against us and shit.”

I sat up in the chair and narrowed my eyes at on him. “First of all, watch the way you fucking speak to me. Second off, moving too fast is what got Bishop wrapped up. Just chill and let me handle this,” I said.

“Let you handle it, huh? I’ght.”

“You feeling some type of way?” I asked as I looked him up and down. This nigga must have forgotten that I was the one who put the hit out on my own brother for fucking up. So I wouldn’t hesitate to get him together. Him or them weird ass niggas he be with.

“That ain’t for us. I’m just saying, my nigga, Divine ain’t the same bitch as she was when she was with you. She moves different. You don’t know her like you think you do.”

“What coulda changed since the last time I fucked her?”

“A lot, nigga. She got shootas and shit now. Not to mention she fuckin’ with a whole bitch that just so happens to be the plug.”

“I bet she still loves me.”

He laughed, but it was a forced laugh. “Yeah, okay. Let her find out you’re the one behind all this shit, and see how far that love take you. I’m gone. Call me when it get gangsta,” he said as he angrily grabbed his keys and departed.

I looked out the window to make sure that he was gone and finally headed to see Neiman. I needed to get to the bottom of this shit. It was all fucked up. I didn’t sign up for none of this clown ass shit.

  Chapter Thirty-Five

  Malina

“So you scared now?” Lu Lu asked as we sat in the car and blowed some kush.

“Man, I don’t know what to do. I didn’t expect to start this big mess. It’s all hitting me now, and I don’t want my cousin to die, man.”

“Why didn’t you just kill the nigga when you went to see him earlier?”

“How will I find Percy if he dies?”

“Well, what you want to do?”

“You with me?” I asked him.

  “I’m always with you, Malina.”

“But you were mad at me last night.”

“Of course, but I’m going to ride with you. Just let me know what the move is.”

“Another thing, can we keep this between us? Because I don’t want her to know what I did behind her back.”

“Don’t worry. It’s all good. We just can’t keep doing this. Something has to give. You need to watch that temper of yours,” he grinned, passing the blunt back.

All of a sudden, Divine’s car swerved in front of mine. She hopped out with a tank top on and some gym shorts. She didn’t see us sitting in the car because she walked straight to Lu Lu’s trap and started banging on the door.

“Divine, what’s wrong?” Lu Lu asked letting the window down.

When she saw us, she ran to my side of the door and started banging on the window. “You wanna turn on me, bitch? Fight, hoe!” she yelled, pulling on the door, but it didn’t open.

I looked over at Lu Lu in total confusion. “What?” I asked through the glass, being sure not to let the window down. I peeped the box cutter she had in her hand.

&n
bsp; “You that mad over a nigga that you got your own family raped? Bitch, get the fuck out!” She reached back and punched the window with her bare hands. The glass shattered.

Lu Lu quickly hopped out and ran over. He tried to grab her, but she was mad.

“Divine, chill! Give me the knife!” Lu Lu yelled as he snatched it from her and threw it across the street.

That didn’t stop her. She reached inside the shattered window and unlocked the door then dragged me out. So now we were fighting, and I was still kinda confused as to where this came from when we got into the day before.

“You snake bitch!” she yelled as she slammed her hand against my jaw over and over.

Finally, I starting fighting back when I saw that Lu Lu couldn’t grab her. She was moving too fast.

“Bitch!” I yelled as I landed my fist dead against her lip.

“I’ma kill you!” she yelled as she started hitting harder, bursting my lip.

“Some hoes out here fighting!” I heard a guy yell.

Then a crowd came around us and started pulling out phones.

“Divine, stop!” Lu Lu yelled as she stomped me while I was on the ground.

“Fuck… that… shit!” she yelled with every stomp that landed on my stomach.

I grabbed her foot, twisted it and pulled her to the ground with me. Now we were rumbling until Kipp ran over out of nowhere and helped Lu Lu break us up. Lu Lu finally grabbed Divine, and Kipp snatched me off the ground.

“Y’all family! Stop this shit, man!” Lu Lu yelled.

“Did you at least pinch the bitch?” Kipp whispered in my ear.

“Get off me!” I yelled as I snatched away from him and wiped my lip.

I looked up and saw that I had busted her lip too. We were fighting hard then a bitch.

“You bring turmoil to every fuckin’ thing you touch! You gonna get what you did to her!” Divine yelled with tears falling from her face as she kicked and tried to get away from Lu Lu’s tight grip.

“I didn’t do shit!” I yelled. I really didn’t mean for this to happen. Lord, what have I done?

“You cut off! Cut the fuck off! You ain’t eating off me no more, bitch! Starve!” she yelled as she snatched away from Lu Lu and hopped in her car.
