Buster was his best friend, and they did everything together, everything. This was no different.
“So, are you going to invite me over?”
Over my dead body.
“We’ll see. Dad’s not wanting me to bring anyone over.” Nate liked Belle a lot. She was a good, strong woman, and he saw how much she loved Shawna. Part of him wished for a mother like that, and the truth was, he was never going to get that.
When the bell rang, he made his excuses and headed toward the library. He didn’t need anything from the library, but it was the only place he could go that would allow him to think. Entering the library, he moved toward the back of the large bookshelves and found a table where he could work. Dropping his bag onto the table top, he grabbed a book and started to open it up.
“I didn’t tell them,” Shawna said, scaring the shit out of him.
He turned around to find her sat in a small corner. Her head popped around the edge of a cabinet. “What?”
“I heard that our rumor is circling. You know the whole stuff about us moving in together,” she said. “I didn’t tell them.”
“Oh, I know. Amanda saw us, or someone who knew Amanda told her, and shit like that.”
“Are you mad?”
He turned in his seat to stare at her, seeing the worried frown across her brow. “No, I’m not mad. How about you come out of your little hidey-hole and come here?” he said, patting the table.
She looked at the table and bit her lip.
Why did he find that action so cute?
Seconds later, she dumped her books on the table beside him and took a seat. “You decided to hide out here as well.”
“Buster was just driving me crazy. It’s surreal to think that people are watching us and whispering. This is just easier. As it is, I have a free period so I don’t have to worry. What about you?”
“Free period, and I’ve got some studying to do. With the move, then dinner, and Daniel taking us all out, I’m a little behind.”
“Have you talked to your dad?” he asked.
She shook her head. “I’ve picked my phone up several times, and I just freeze up. I don’t know what to say to him, and I don’t care what he has to say to me.”
“Why don’t you start with ‘hey’?”
“Is it that easy?”
“Better than telling him you never want to see him again.” He couldn’t resist running his finger down her arm, touching her. The feel of her flesh was enough to make him hard as fucking rock, and he quickly pulled away. “Do you feel it?” he asked.
She shook a little, and nodded. “I feel it, yes.”
He looked into her brown eyes, shocked that she had been honest. “You’re not lying.”
“Why lie? I’ve seen what lying can do, Nate. It’s not something I’m ever going to do.”
“This about your dad again?”
“It’s all about him. There’s not a lot I can do to stop these feelings, and believe me, I have tried.” She sighed. “What about your mom? You heard from her?”
“No, I haven’t. I’ll probably hear from her when it’s my birthday or something.”
“Or something?”
Nate leaned his head on his hand, and smiled. “When she wants money or something. I hope Dad throws her ass to the curb. With Belle in his life, I’m hoping he’ll be stronger.”
“I never thought I’d have a fucked-up parent in common with you.”
“I’m sure we’re not the only ones to have them.” He wanted to taste her lips, to feel her writhing underneath him once again.
“No, I’m sure of it.”
Silence fell between them, and Nate couldn’t look away. She was so damn beautiful, and right now his dick was remembering how good it was to be inside her, and to feel her warmth wrapped around him. It was like an addiction he couldn’t get past. The fire danced within his blood, made him yearn for so much more, and yet he held himself back.
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” he asked.
“That depends on what you’re thinking.” She smiled, and he saw her cheeks were a little red.
He leaned forward, pressing his lips against her ear. “I’m thinking about how beautiful you looked with my cock deep inside you, riding your sweet pussy.” He heard her gasp, and when he pulled away, she was biting on that damn lip. Cupping her face, he pulled that lip out of her mouth, stopping from her chewing on it anymore. “You don’t need to do that anymore, baby,” he said.
Pressing his lips against hers, he sucked that lip right into his mouth, and they both moaned. “I’m more than happy to be doing that for the two of us.” He spoke as he pulled away.
“Anyone could see us.”
“I don’t give a fuck.” He slammed his lips down on hers, and relished the little moan that slipped from her mouth. Swallowing the sound down, he sank his fingers into her soft silken hair, holding her tightly against him. Her hand went to his shoulder, and she didn’t push him away. No, she gripped his harder, and whimpered a little more as he took advantage and slipped his tongue into her mouth. Running his other hand down her back, he moved toward the base of her back, wanting to grip her ass.
The sound of someone coming down the stacks made Shawna pull away from him. He licked his lips, still tasting her on his. Her cheeks were flushed, and he quickly turned back to his work as someone he didn’t recognize came toward them. He tried to focus on the words as the girl looked through the books near them, and after picking out three of them, she left without a backward glance.
“This is not supposed to happen,” Shawna said.
“It’s happening.” He couldn’t deny it. “I can’t get our time together out of my mind.”
She stared at him, and he ran his thumb across her lip.
“Since you came to live with us, it has only gotten worse. I want you, Shawna.”
“This isn’t going to end well. I heard some of the girls laughing at the fact I was living with you.”
“Let them laugh, Shawna. I don’t give a shit about them, never have.”
She chuckled, and suddenly started gathering up her books. “That was a lie, Nate. You are popular, and you know what? I’m not, and I’m more than happy about that. This, it’s not going to happen.”
He watched her disappear, and even though he wanted to stop her, he didn’t. Why did he care what people thought of him? Staring back at the book he was studying from, he shook his head. There was no way he was going to be able to concentrate, not right now.

“Hey, sweetie, how are you?” Belle asked.
Shawna looked up from where she was reading to see her mother leaning against the doorframe. “I’m fine. How are you?”
Her mother was glowing with a happiness that she hadn’t seen her have in such a long time.
“I’m really good. Really happy. Daniel and I are heading out tonight for dinner. Is that okay?” she asked.
“That’s fine. I know how to eat, Mom, I can figure it out.”
“Good, good.” Belle took a seat at the table. “Have you spoken to your father?”
“Nope.” He’d also stopped leaving messages, which she was happy about. She didn’t want to talk to him yet. Even as she thought about it, she couldn’t get Nate’s words out of her mind. “Do you know about Daniel’s ex?”
“Yeah, I know about her, and I’m not going to worry. Daniel loves me, and I love him. We’re strong together.”
Shawna nodded.
“Oh, I went shopping, so you should be able to cook whatever you want. I know you love doing it.”
“You know me so well,” Shawna said, resting her head on her mother’s shoulder. “I’m so pleased you’re happy.”
“How about you and Nate? You doing okay?”
“We avoid each other at school,” she said. “I think the cat is out of the bag or something like that. Someone saw me coming out of the house, and now everyone is wondering what I’m doing living with him.”
Her mot
her chuckled. “Don’t you just love kids and the rumors they like to create?”
“Not really.”
“They grow out of it, sweetie. They really do.” Belle kissed her temple. “I’m going to get ready. Love you.”
“Love you too.”
She watched her mother walk away, and she was so happy for her.
There was no point in fighting with her father, and pulling out her cell phone, she dialed his number, hoping it would go straight to voicemail. It didn’t.
“Shawna, is that you?” he asked.
She closed her eyes and saw him screwing Sandy. Even the memory of her mother’s heartbreak was so clear. “Yeah, it’s me.” She didn’t mean to sound so harsh, yet she couldn’t stop it. Feeling sick to her stomach, she glanced at the time and wondered what was a decent amount of time to stay on the phone with someone. This man no longer felt like a father to her anymore. He was nothing more than a stranger.
“I’m so pleased you called. I’ve been waiting, and I spoke to your mother, and she told me to give you time, and I guess I was losing hope that you would call.”
“What did you want to talk about?” Shawna asked.
“I wanted to talk to you about moving in with me and Sandy.”
“No.”
She didn’t even want to hear any reasoning for this.
“Now, Shawna, you’ve not given me a chance to explain here.”
“Dad, you don’t need to explain anything. I saw it, remember, in full-frontal, gory detail. How else can you explain that?” she asked.
She heard him sigh, and she rubbed at her temples, feeling the start of a headache. When did talking to her father become so damn complicated?
“Shawna, I want to see you to talk together, and for you to understand.”
“What more is there to understand? Really, Dillon, what?” She hadn’t been able to stomach calling him Dad for some time. In her mind it was easier than it was to actually talk to him as if something fucked up hadn’t happened in their life.
“I’m still your father, Shawna. I expect you to treat me with respect. I’ve done nothing wrong.”
She snorted. “Ha, and I believe sleeping with someone who isn’t your wife isn’t doing something wrong?”
Again, he sighed. “You’re not listening to me.”
“I’ve got to go.” Not waiting for him to say anything she hung up the phone, dropping it to the table, and closed her eyes. “I can deal with this.”
“That your dad?” Nate asked, and she pushed her hair out of the way to look up at him.
“You heard?”
“Kind of hard not to.”
“He wants me to move in with him, and that is never going to happen.” She blew out a breath. “I don’t know what to do about all this.”
“How about you come out for a ride with me? There’s no point in you sitting reading. Come on. Our parents won’t miss us.”
“You don’t have anywhere else to be?” she asked.
“No, I don’t. I wouldn’t have invited you if I had somewhere else to go.” He held up his car keys. “You gonna give me a chance?”
The idea of staying around home wasn’t appealing at all. “Yeah, I’m coming.”
She closed the book and picked up her cell phone. After calling out to her mom, she followed Nate right out of the door. Climbing into the passenger seat, she waited as he started the engine and finally pulled out of the driveway.
“Time for an adventure.”
They rode out of town, and she didn’t care where they were going. Opening her window, she watched the houses go by, and they even passed the high school. Out on the open road, she finally felt her worries ease away.
“This is fun, thank you.”
“We don’t have to be anywhere else. Our parents aren’t expecting us for dinner so I don’t see a point in waiting around, and you looked ill with that phone call.”
She bit her lip, and glanced over at Nate. “I feel he betrayed me.”
“What?”
“My dad. It’s hard at times. I want to meet him and talk, and for everything to go back to normal, only it can’t happen.” She shook her head. “Ignore me.”
“He was your hero. The guy you looked up to. I get it, really I do.”
“Do you think I should forgive him?” she asked.
“I think you need to do what you feel is best, babe.” He touched her knee, and that one touch made her think of him between her thighs.
“Ugh, I don’t know. I don’t know what all of this is about.” She patted his hand. “Thank you so much anyway for being near me, and for allowing me to go a bit crazy here.”
“It’s fine. We all need to go a bit crazy sometimes.”
Nate drove around for an over an hour before he stopped off at a burger drive-thru, ordering them some food. They didn’t eat at the burger place, and Nate drove them toward an abandoned parking lot.
“I wanted some privacy,” he said.
“Yeah, everything is going to be a little crazy to be honest. My friends have been texting me asking if you like me or something like that.” She took a bite of her burger and glanced over to him, realizing she was having fun.
They finished their food, and she climbed out to toss her wrappers into the trash.
She spun back to the car only to find Nate standing next to her. He cupped her cheek and tilted her head back.
“I thought we said we wouldn’t do this,” she said.
“No, you said we shouldn’t do this. I don’t have an argument for why we shouldn’t. I’m single. You’re single. We’re both eighteen, not that it has stopped me before. Did you enjoy me last time?”
“Enjoy you?”
“You know what I mean,” he said, running his hand down to her ass, and pulling her close. “You can’t deny what is going on between us. It’s strong, and I can’t deny it either.”
She licked her suddenly dry lips, and stared into his eyes. No, she couldn’t deny it.
“I enjoyed it.”
“So instead of us denying each other, why don’t we give in, and just let go?”
Lifting her hands up, she went to touch his face and paused. Letting out a breath, she finally touched his face and gave in to what she needed. Pressing her head against his, she sighed, and when he brushed his lips against hers, she didn’t fight him.
Moving her hands to the back of his head, she kissed him back with a passion that took her by surprise. She hadn’t been able to stop thinking about him. He had been her first, and there wasn’t a guy at school to even compare to him. Nate had been so perfect even when he hadn’t needed to be. He had taken his time, making sure that she enjoyed every single second of being in his arms, even when there was pain. He’d waited.
He grasped her against him, and she felt the length of his cock pressing against her stomach.
There was no way she could deny this. She wanted it too damn much, and besides, what was wrong with giving in, with giving herself to Nate? No one was ever going to find out. This was something between the two of them.
Chapter Five
The feel of Shawna against him was exactly how Nate remembered. She was so soft, so warm, and damn it, he wanted her badly. From the moment he touched her, his cock had been hard.
Moving her back toward the car, he pressed her against it, capturing her lips once again.
“You’re so beautiful,” he said.
“This is bad,” she said, licking her lips.
He bit that lip. “It’s bad, but it’s so good.” He cupped her tits, stroking his thumb across each nipple finding them hard. “You want me.”
“Yes.”
“Then give in. We’re not breaking any rules.” He fingered her jacket and slowly started to pull it down.
“What about if someone comes here?” she asked.
He didn’t want to take the chance of driving her back toward their house and Shawna changing her mind.
“You ever made out in the back of a car?” he aske
d.
She shook her head. “No.”
Stepping away from the car, he opened the passenger door. “How about I show you how good it can be?” He waited while she glanced at the car then back at him.
Once again she played with her lips, which only served to drive him crazy. His cock was pressed against the front of his pants, and it had to be easy to see.
Seconds ticked by, maybe even minutes, and then she climbed into the back of the car. “I’m curious about this, Nate. How can making out in the back of the car be good?”
“Ah, you see, it can be fun, and we’re going to be close.” He slid in beside her, closing the car door, and quickly removed his jacket. Sitting back, he stared at her and smiled. She looked nervous. He patted the seat beside him. “Come on, babe, come closer.”
Shawna shuffled closer to him.
Nate had made out in the back of a car. He’d done it in bedrooms, bathrooms, against a wall. There wasn’t much he hadn’t done. He was a guy, curious, and women were always falling for him, and he wasn’t about to apologize for that. Shawna settled against him, and he wrapped his arm around the back of her neck, and with his other hand tilted her head back. “Don’t be nervous.”
“This is probably weird, but I’m not. I’m not nervous.” Her gaze went to his lips, and then back up at him. “Do you think that is weird?”
“No, I don’t.” He felt exactly the same way about her. The first time he’d had sex, nearly three years ago, he’d been nervous and unsure. For other girls, he had to put on a show, pretend to be something he really wasn’t. With Shawna, he didn’t feel the need to be someone different, and now she knew more about him than anyone else.
Leaning forward, he took possession of her lips, and she released a little moan. With his free hand, he caressed down to her breast. Opening her jacket, he pushed his hand up her shirt to cup her naked tit. They both moaned together. “You’re so beautiful,” he said.
He had to tell her what he thought, and be with her. She gripped his shirt, and when she started to bunch it up, he moved back, pulling it over his head so that he was bare.
She ran her hands all over his body, and Nate took the next step, removing her shirt and then flicking open the catch of her bra. Moving her so that she was laid out on the seat, he captured one of her nipples, sucking it into his mouth. He bit down, relishing the sounds of her gasp, and the way she breathed out his name. The pleasure was clear to hear, and he didn’t want to hear anything else from her.
