“An apartment together?”
“Yeah, it can be the start of our new life.”
She chuckled. “It looks like Buster is going to win that bet.”
“Totally.”
Chapter Eleven
As predicted, Buster won the bet, and at graduation Buster actually handed them a certificate he’d made himself for longest standing relationship for Nate. At the end of the summer, he and Shawna made the final trip to college, and his father had helped them to find the right place for them to stay. It was a small apartment, but it had everything going for it, apart from a place to do the laundry. They had to use the laundry rooms provided for all the residents. The moment their last box was unloaded and their parents were heading back, Nate sat on the sofa with Shawna curled up next to him. “Is it everything you hoped?” he asked.
“It’s better than anything I had hoped, Nate.” She smiled up at him. “Did you for a second even think you and I would be here, like this, together?”
“Not a chance. I didn’t think we’d make this. I didn’t think we’d ever have sex together. Just goes to show that sometimes the best thing for you is right in front of you.”
She chuckled and moved to straddle his waist. “So, Mr. Bridges, what would you like to do as a housewarming?”
He ran his hands down her back, grabbing her ass. “Well, Miss Prescott, I would very much like to have my dick filling your very beautiful, very passionate pussy, if I may.”
They both burst out laughing. Shawna cupped his face, and pressed her lips to his. Any laughter died as he moaned, holding her close.
“I never for a second thought it was possible to fall in love with someone like you,” she said. “You make me feel alive, Nate. You make me feel like it doesn’t matter what happens in the rest of the world because we can handle it.”
He pushed her brown hair off her face, and stared into her beautiful eyes. “When I’m with you, the rest of the world falls away. There is no one else.” He ran his thumb across her bottom lip. “You make me feel, Shawna. Feel so much.”
“This is going to be really hard to explain to our brother or sister. I don’t even know if we’d be related. I don’t think we would. Neither of us is related.” She shook her head. “I don’t care.”
“Me neither. It can be our confusion. No one else’s.” He slid his thumb into her mouth, watching as she sucked the digit into her mouth, and he moaned. “I know where your lips will be much better.”
She wriggled off his lap, and ended up at his feet, running her hands all over his legs. Nate grabbed the waistband of his pants, and started to wriggle out of them, pulling his erect cock from his pants.
Wrapping his fingers around the base, he watched as Shawna licked her lips. “You want this?” he asked.
“Yeah, I do.”
She leaned over, and flicked the tip of his cock with her tongue, releasing a little moan as she did.
“Fuck, babe, do you know how hot that fucking looks?”
Shawna covered the whole head and took him to the back of her throat. When he was close to letting go, he cupped the back of her head and pulled her off his cock. Lifting her to her feet, he stripped her clothes off, tearing them off her.
When they were both completely naked, he took a condom, tearing into the foil, and sliding the latex over his cock. Once they were on the floor, he moved between her thighs, found her entrance, and thrust deep inside. Taking hold of her hands, he placed them beside her head, and seated himself to the hilt. “Fuck, baby, that is perfect. I’m home the moment I’m inside you.”
Leaning down, he took possession of her lips as he began to make love to his woman. Shawna belonged to him just as he did her, not just for now, but for always.
Epilogue
Five years later
“You’re sure about this?” Buster asked.
Nate glanced over at his friend and nodded. They were at his baby sister Lillian’s fifth birthday party, and he was just waiting for Shawna to get back from the shop. They had to go and pick up a cake as their dog, Bob, had knocked to the floor the one Belle and Shawna had made.
Daniel and Belle did get married. They had thought about not getting married as they didn’t want to make Nate and Shawna feel awkward about being stepsiblings, even though they were not related. Nate didn’t care what anyone said. He and Shawna loved each other. They were not breaking any laws, and it was nice to see his Dad so happy. Also, Belle was one hell of a cook as well.
“You know you can run out and I’ll make excuses to Shawna. I may ask her myself,” he said.
“Fuck off, Buster. You know Shawna would never marry you.”
He had the ring in his pocket, and he’d had it there for the past two months. The past five years had been a dream come true for him, for them. Through college they had grown closer, and now he was going to ask her to marry him.
When he had told Lillian, his little sister, that he was going to ask Shawna, she had begged for him to do it at her birthday. He was worried about spoiling her attention, but she had told him the best memory would be to see him and Shawna together.
“Are you nervous?” Buster asked.
Buster had followed them to college, and his friend regularly posted updates of all three of them on social media. He even had a little post where he added pictures of him and Shawna together. Unlike him and Shawna, Buster had never settled down, and had never found that woman for himself. Instead, Buster had become the gossip king.
Everyone who friended him from town would know that Nate Bridges and Shawna Prescott were in fact together still.
“Yeah, I’m nervous.”
“Why? She loves you, and she cooks you dinner every single night. She does your laundry for you as well.”
He did his own laundry, but it was something else they did together.
“I need to find me a Shawna,” Buster said.
“You wouldn’t know what to do with me,” Shawna said, coming up behind Nate and hugging him.
“Everyone be quiet!” Lillian shouted out, and ran over to them. “Shawna, Nate has something he would like to tell you.”
“Oh, you do, do you?”
“I thought I said I would do this when I was ready,” he said, smiling.
“And what better time than before cake?” Lillian jumped up and down, giggling. “You’re going to love it, Shawna.”
“I am.”
Great, his little sister was against him as well. He took a deep breath, and smiled. Now was a better time than any. Lowering down to one knee, he watched as her eyes went wide.
“Hi, Shawna,” he said.
“Holy crap,” she said.
“I love you, and I know you love me. Well, I hope you still love me.” He saw her eyes were glistening, but the smile on her lips helped to steady him. “I can’t imagine being with anyone else but you. I want to get old with you, and have lots of kids with you, and maybe even a couple of dogs or cats.” Bob barked in the background, and he even heard a cat in the distance, or that could have been in his head, wanting to hear his future with her. “I will spend my whole life making you happy, Shawna. Will you marry me?”
“See, Shawna, I told you it was going to be good,” Lillian said.
“Lil, she hasn’t answered,” he said. His heart was pounding, and he felt sick to his stomach. This could be the moment that broke him.
“Yes, one hundred percent yes.”
Getting to his feet, he wrapped his arms around her just as she flung her arms around his neck, holding him close.
“You mean that?” he asked.
She chuckled. “Yes, and we may have already started on those kids,” she said.
“Wait, what?”
“I took a pregnancy test, and it was positive, Nate. Are you happy?”
“Yeah, I fucking am.”
Shawna was pregnant, and gave birth eight months later to their first of five babies.
