Pull You Through Page 36

by Kaylee Ryan

  “Hey, he was helping.”

  “Uh-huh.”

  “Love you.”

  “Love you, too.”

I watch her waddle back into the living room, grabbing her laptop, and slowly lowering herself onto the couch. She completed her degree in digital arts a few years back, and now she works from home. She designs websites, makes custom logos, and a multitude of other things. It couldn’t be more perfect for us as she wanted to stay home when Corey was born. When we found out we were having a boy, she wanted to name him after Jeffers. It was a good tribute, and we both happened to like the name Corey Slade. And Corey Reeves just has a nice ring to it.

Our baby girl is due in two months, and her name will be Grace Austyn Reeves. Austyn says baby number two is the end for her, but I want more. I want a house full. I’m sure she can be persuaded.

Being medically discharged from the Marine Corps, was a hard pill to swallow. That is until I decided where I wanted my future to go. Gus, my physical therapist, inspired me, he was incredible. He never let me slack off and pushed me when I needed to be pushed. So, after talking with Austyn’s parents, and moving Austyn and me into the basement—giving them back their first-floor room—I enrolled in college. It took me seven long years to become a physical therapist, but I love what I do. We live comfortably on my salary so Austyn can take as many or as few jobs as she wants. Being a full-time mom is her number one priority. I support her, even offered to hire a nanny, but she refused. The money I invested from selling Gran’s house all those years ago is still sitting in the bank, drawing interest. It’s there for a rainy day if we ever need it. Corey and Gracie will need to go to college and who knows, we might travel the world someday once our kids are raised and on their own. I don’t know what our future holds, but I do know that no matter how our story unfolds, my angel will be right by my side.

I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to read Pull You Through. I appreciate each and every one of you. I’d love to hear from you.

I needed some help with this one. It was important to me to get the details of military life as accurate as possible. Sure I could have made it up in the name of fiction, but I wanted it to be real. Toni and Lauren, you ladies and your amazing husbands helped me so much. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and guide me through military life. I could not have done this without you.

These are my words, but my team helped me make it what it is.

Sara Eirew produced an amazing image of Mike Chabot and Carolyn Seguin. The three of you together created an image that brought Slade and Austyn to life. Thank you to all of you for doing what you do.

Sommer Stein, Perfect Pear Creative Covers, never ceases to amaze me with her designs. I give her the basics, and she gives me a cover that surpasses my expectations. Thank you for being kick ass at what you do. I’m honored to work with you.

Hot Tree Editing, your team is my lifeline. You make me work for it, to make each book the best version it can me. Thank you for not taking it easy on me.

Tami, Integrity Formatting, I never worry about what the final product is going to look like with you at the helm. Thank you for making each book beautiful on the inside.

Give Me Books, you never fail me. You take the stress and worry out of release day. I cannot thank you enough for all that you do.

Becca the Bibliophile, you nailed the trailer! Thank you so much for bringing Pull You Through to life.

Me beta team, Stacy, Jamie, Lauren & Ashley. You ladies are not just my beta’s, but my friends. I truly value the friendships we’ve created throughout this journey. I would be lost without you. I will never be able to thank you enough for the time you put into reading my words over and over. S. Moose, our talks keep me moving forward when the plot pushes me backward.

Bloggers, there are so many of you who take the time away from your lives, time away from your families to support authors. Thank you, doesn’t seem like enough. You don’t get paid to do what you do. It’s from the kindness of your heart and your love of reading the fuels you. Without you, without your pages, your voice, your reviews, spreading the word it would be so much harder if not impossible to get my words in reader’s hands. I can’t tell you how much your never-ending support means to me. Thank you for being you, thank you for all that you do.

My readers, I love you. Not only do you buy my books and read them, you message me along the way. I love hearing from each and every one of you. I love hearing your thoughts as you read, and how the story as a whole touched your life. I’m grateful for ALL of you more than you will ever know. Thank you for taking the time to read my words.

My family, your continued support is beyond measure. I’m so thankful to be living this life with you. I love you.

My Kick Ass Crew, the name of the group, speaks for itself. You ladies truly do KICK ASS! I’m honored to have you on this journey with me. Thank you for reading, sharing, commenting, suggesting, the teasers, the messages all of it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you do. Your support is everything!

  With Love,
