Inter-Galactic Bounty Hunters Page 4

“Of course. I’m feeling just a little nauseated. Maybe I could run up to my apartment and take some antacid. Hopefully my stomach might settle down. Then come back and finish my shift.” She hated lying to him. She wasn’t planning to come back.

“Go head. You’re due a thirty minute break anyway.” He took over her orders while Daniela quietly left through the back of the diner.

Daniela didn’t look back. She went right up the stairs to her apartment and locked the door behind her. It wasn’t like the piece of crap door would hold against someone the size of the brown haired man. But she wanted to take every precaution.

  *****

Something was up. Jagger felt it. The food coming out of the kitchen was not the same quality as before and the customers were complaining. He stood to go to the bathroom and checked out the kitchen, only one big bald guy was there cooking. Shit! She was going to run for it!

Jagger went past the bathroom and out the back of the diner. He saw a light on in the apartment above. He couldn’t let her leave. He walked up the rickety staircase.

  *****

Fuck! Daniela could hear someone coming upstairs. She grabbed the bag she had been stuffing her personal items in and went to the bathroom window in the back of the apartment. She opened it up and threw her bag out. A few seconds later it hit the ground below with a thud.

There was a small fire escape on the next building. If she could jump from her window down a few feet and catch the fire escape, she could then get down to the alley below. She wished she had a more athletic body than the curvy one she was cursed with.

Someone was pounding on her door now. She didn’t have any other options. She took a deep breath and leapt off the window’s ledge.

“Umph!” She barely caught it. She was breathing hard. Her arms were strained from her weight pulling her down and down. She was only ten feet up off the ground. She just needed to pull the ladder down and use it. However, to reach it, she had to let go of her grip with one hand. “Just a little…more…” Shit!

Her grip wasn't strong enough to hold her weight with just one hand. She fell the remaining ten feet down to the hard gravel alleyway. She landed on her feet but her right ankle twisted out from under her painfully. She collapsed to her knees. Tears streamed down her face from the sharp pain she felt.

She wiped the tears away and pulled herself to her feet. She didn’t have time to cry. She needed to get away. She wobbled over to her bag picking it up. Then she rushed the best she could to make her way out of the alley. Maybe she could grab a taxi or something to take her somewhere, anywhere.

For a busy town the streets looked deserted. She heard her name being called from behind her. The guy with the brown hair was following her and he would soon catch her if she didn’t do something quickly. She spotted a man in leather sitting on his cycle pod on the other side of the street.

“Hey!” she called out to the man.

He turned to look her up and down. He didn’t seem impressed with her disheveled clothes, no make-up, and limping walk. “Sorry, honey, I don’t do prostitutes.”

She would have been insulted but she didn’t have time for that. “That’s not it. I have to leave here right now. I’ll pay you if you drive me out of town.”

“How do I know you got the money to pay me? You don’t look like you got much at all,” the man asked.

She pulled out of her pocket the money from the tips the waitresses had collected for her. “Will fifty credits do it?”

He eyed the money in her hand. “Make it seventy-five.”

“What? Seventy-five?” she protested. That wouldn’t leave her much left over. Maybe a couple hundred credits. Barely enough for a new apartment. She turned to look back at the alley. She could hear the man coming. She didn’t have a choice. “Okay, seventy-five, but we leave now.”

“Done.” He scooted up so she could get on behind him. He turned on the cycle pod.

She got on the back and grabbed hold of his waist. “Wait! I need a helmet.” He just laughed and took off.

  “Martin!” a man’s voice called.

Daniela turned to look back and saw the brown haired man trying to run to catch up to them but he was unable to. The look on the man’s face was scary. She shivered. Thank God she got away from him.

  *****

Jagger was breathing hard trying to catch his breath. Damn it! He could tell the female hurt herself jumping from the window ledge. How she hadn’t managed to break her neck he wasn’t sure. But it had his heart racing with a need to make sure she was okay. He tried calling her name but she jumped on some guy’s cycle pod and took off. He grabbed his cell phone and dialed a pre-programmed number.

“Isaac… I need you to put a trace on a plate for me and track it.”

“Give it to me,” Isaac told him.

Jagger read off the license plate number. He was glad license plates were embedded into vehicles, they stayed with that vehicle, couldn't be removed, and had built in tracking systems to prevent theft. It came in handy for when they were hunting.

“Got it,” Isaac called. “I am forwarding you the tracking app so you can track them directly from your location.”

“Thanks, Isaac.” Jagger hung up and pulled up the tracking app Isaac sent him. He smiled. “Cool.” He went back to his hotel room and grabbed his stuff and checked out. All he needed now was to rent a car.

  *****

“Hurry up!” a man yelled from inside a car. He stopped and another man got in.

“Go!” the passenger yelled to the driver. The driver pushed down on the accelerator.

“We’ll catch up to them, Crawley, don’t worry,” the driver told the other man.

“We better catch up to them. We don’t get paid unless we take care of the situation,” Crawley told the driver.

“We’ll get her.” The two men exchanged evil looks between them.

  *****

  Two hours later…

“Thanks, Hank,” Daniela said as she handed the credits over to the rider. He had driven for several hours to get her to the next town. Now they were parting ways because the rider, Hank, was going to his sister’s house. He stopped at a motel and waited for her to check in.

“Here, take this back.” He handed the credits back to her.

“No, you earned it.” She tried to give the credit to him again but he refused to take them.

“Are you sure you are going to be safe here? What about the guy who was chasing you?” Hank looked worried. The female reminded him of his sister. He couldn’t take the credits from her. It was clear to him that she was in trouble, “I’ll be fine. We got a really good head start. The guy won’t know which direction we went. I’ll take the shuttle first thing in the morning and keep moving.” She gave him a reassuring smile.

“You run into any trouble you call the number I gave you,” Hank told her.

“I will. Thanks, Hank.” She gave him an awkward hug. The man blushed.

  *****

A shadow from the side of the motel watched the female as she opened her door to her room. He made his move quickly catching the door right before it closed and shoved his way inside.

Daniela was caught off guard and was shoved hard backwards against the wall of the motel room. Oh no, he found her. She shook her stunned head and attempted to scream but a hard body pressed against her and a hand covered her mouth.

“Shut the door!” a male voice yelled out. Another man slammed the door closed to the motel room.

Oh God. There were two of them.

  Chapter Five

She tried to scream but the hand over her mouth muffled the sound. Her struggles to free herself were fruitless. The man holding her was much stronger. He was about five feet six inches with a shaved head and mean beady eyes.

“Wow, she’s prettier than I thought she would be,” the man who had closed the door said.

The man holding her used his free hand to grope her breasts. “Oh, yeah. She’s got a handful to hold
onto too. Crawley, go get a rag or towel, something we can put around her mouth and to tie her arms and legs.”

Crawley hesitated. “Bob, don’t you dare start without me. I want some of that.”

Bob laughed. “Don’t worry. We’ll each take a turn, then we’ll take her at the same time.”

Daniela felt sick to her stomach at the thought of the two men touching her. “Please, let me go. I’ll pay you all I have.” She hated begging but if she could at least find a way to catch them off guard, she might be able to escape.

“We’re getting paid good to get you out of the way,” Bob answered her as Crawley went into the bathroom.

She had to do something now while the other guy was out of the room. She let her body go slack and the guy, Bob, wasn’t ready to support her weight. He let go of his grip and she took advantage. She kneed him in the nuts and ran for the door. She got the door open and was halfway outside when strong arms grabbed her from behind. She screamed before the door was shut, then a fist hit her square in the jaw.

She was knocked down and slid across the floor where her head bumped up against the wall. For a moment she blacked out. Then she woke as rough hands lifted her and dragged her over to throw her onto something soft, the bed.

Another pair of rough hands joined the ones that were tearing her clothes off her body. As her thoughts started to become clearer she realized they were going to rape her. Her body was still too sluggish to fight them off. She wished she was still knocked unconscious.

“If I had known you were going to knock her half unconscious I wouldn’t have gone to the bathroom. Don’t kill her yet,” the man called Crawley said.

“No, not yet. We’re going to get to know Miss Martin real well first.” The one called Bob, the one who had hit her, reached for his pants and began unhooking them.

She closed her eyes and tears escaped. She needed to think of someplace else to go in her mind, numb herself so she couldn’t feel the hurtful hands. But it was hard, she was too connected to her body. She felt too much. Then suddenly the rough hands were gone along with the weight that had been pressing her down.

She kept her eyes closed as she listened to what sounded like a battle. Bodies were crashing into the walls, hitting the table and knocking the lamp off, shattering it as it hit the floor. Then there was no sounds, nothing except for breathing. Hers, and another’s. Daniela felt the mattress dent as a body sat next to her. Was she going to die now? A gentle hand brushed the long strand of her dark hair out of her face.

“Miss Martin? You are safe now. Can you move at all?” a deep man’s voice asked.

She opened her eyes slowly and had to wait to adjust to there being no light. Then she saw her savior. It was the brown haired man that had chased her earlier.

“Who are you?” Her voice was rough and her throat was irritated from near strangulation.

“I am Jagger Desantos, the bail enforcement agent assigned to your case,” Jagger told her.

Damn, her savior was a bounty hunter. “What do you want from me?”

“I have to take you back to lockup so you can face trial.” He tried his best not to look at her exposed body, but it was hard not to. A glimpse down showed him that she had ample breasts with perfect pale pink nipples. Sweet nipples made for suckling. He shook his head. These thoughts were so wrong. He was a bounty hunter and she was his prey. Nothing more. But his body didn’t get that message. His cock was full and hard, ready to claim the female before him. Shit!

Jagger got off the bed quickly, moving to the fallen man on the floor. He had knocked him unconscious but his partner managed to escape out the door. He used the ripped up strips of towel that most likely was intended for Daniela to tie the man’s hands and cover his mouth.

“Wait here,” he told Daniela as he picked the other man up with ease.

He needn’t worry about her moving. Daniela couldn’t lift her arms or her legs. Her body must have gone into shock. She hated this feeling of helplessness. She turned her head left and right trying to see where the other man went. The motel room was destroyed. There was a huge hole where someone’s body had been thrown into it. The bathroom was damaged too because water was leaking onto the floor. She was glad she wasn’t using a credit card for this place.

Her breathing was a little more under control now. She tried to lift her head but it started to make everything way too dizzy for her. She laid back down. She cringed as she realized that she was practically naked. Her shirt and pants had been ripped and so had her bra. She only wore her plane Jane white panties. She must look pathetic. What must he think of her? Fuck it! She was in a dirty motel room, naked, had almost been raped by strangers, and all she was worried about was what the hot bounty hunter thought of her.

She heard the bounty hunter…Jagger…headed back her way. She grabbed the edge of the comforter and tried to drag it over her to cover up her exposed body. She looked up and locked eyes with the stranger. He had the most amazing gold eyes she had ever seen. She shook her head to break their connection.

“I need clothes but I can’t move,” she told him, pointing to her forgotten bag in the corner.

Jagger went to pick up the bag and pulled out a t-shirt and pair of jogging pants. “Let’s get you dressed and out of here before the authority show up.”

She had to let him help her get dressed because she didn’t have any strength. When she tried to stand her legs began to tremble and shake. How long was this shock stuff supposed to last? Not all of her body was numb though. When Jagger’s rough fingers accidently brushed against her nipples when helping to put her shirt on, the tips tightened automatically and she felt an electric current shoot straight down to her pussy. Holy shit!

“Sorry,” he whispered heavily in her ear. “You’re too bruised to use a bra and there’s no time for socks and shoes. I can hear sirens coming this way. Someone must have reported the fight. Can you stand?”

“I can’t even sit up on my own.”

“I’ll carry you then.” He lifted her in his arms easily and carried her outside the motel room to his motor pod.

“Where is the guy?” she managed to ask as he buckled her up in the seat.

“He’s still unconscious. I put him in the trunk.” He closed the door and walked over to the driver’s side.

“They’ll find my fingerprints.” She bit her bottom lip and winced. She forgot she had been hit in the face and her lip was split.

“Don’t worry about it. Bounty hunters have all kinds of tricks up their sleeves.” He nodded toward the motel room. A moment later there was a bright flashing light and then nothing.

“Wow, what was that?” Daniela asked.

“Light blaster. It will erase all fingerprints.”

“Why would you have something like that?” She turned to look at him. His skin was golden and perfect. His arms were thick with muscle. The t-shirt he wore was tight and showed off his eight pack.

“There are times we bounty hunters have to go into places that are off limits and we need to keep our presence unknown.” He looked over at her curious green eyes. They seemed to lock onto his heart and squeeze. Jagger had to pull away from her gaze.

They drove for about an hour or so. Daniela had given in to sleep. Her head was leaned against the cold hard glass window of the passenger’s side. Jagger found himself constantly looking over at her. Bruises formed on the side of her face along the path of her neck. There would be more bruises all along her body, her luscious body. She didn’t have a bra on and he could see her hardened nipples. She groaned with pain, which brought his thoughts back to her injuries.

It made him killing mad that those so called men had touched her, left marks on her, scared her, and would have done a lot worse if he hadn’t shown up. It pissed him off that one of the culprits escaped. The other one woke about twenty minutes ago and was kicking the trunk lid from the inside. Another loud bang and he had had it.

Jagger pulled the motor pod over to the side of the road. He wa
ited until there were no cars. Thank goodness the sun wasn't rising up yet so it was pitch black out. He opened the door and walked around to the trunk lid. Another loud kick, then he popped open the trunk. The bound man looked up in surprise. He didn’t expect the lid to open so quickly. Nor did he see the fist thrown his way until it connected to his face. He collapsed down unmoving.

  “Lights out, asshole!”

  *****

“What do you mean you lost her?” a man’s voice yelled over the phone line.

Crawley shuffled from foot to foot. He had tried to follow the motor pod that had his partner and the girl, but he lost them. The guy was good whoever he was. Now he had to call mister moneybags and tell him what happened. It was not going well.

“Sorry, boss. This guy came out of nowhere and took us by surprise.”

“It was that damn bounty hunter. However, there were two of you. Why were both of you taken by surprise?” the man on the phone asked.

“We… We were handling the female and got distracted.” Crawley ran a hand over his head.

“So now you not only lost the woman, you lost your partner?”

Crawley cringed. “I’ll find them. I’ll get them both back.”

“Take them out. I can’t risk any further exposure.”

“You want me to take out Bob too instead of rescuing him?” Crawley was taken back.

“You got a problem with that?” the boss asked.

“Not as long as you double your original price.”

  “What?”

“That’s two people you want me to eliminate. That’s twice the price. But I tell you what. I will throw in that bounty hunter for free,” Crawley offered.

“Agreed. Call me when it is done.”

  *****

Hours later Daniela opened her eyes slowly. She was in another motel room but this one looked a little better than the last. She tried to lift up to a sitting position but her body protested.

“Easy. I haven’t given you the med shots yet. I need to know where you hurt,” the man’s voice said.
