“Why didn’t you just talk to me about it,” Reef inquired. “I could have told you it was just a scam by Sanford to try to buy everyone’s land on the cheap.”
“I didn’t tell you would just want to fight it—whether it was actually the government working with Sanford, or if it was just Sanford. But these are not people you should fight; they are too dangerous.”
“Well it seems they were counting on not having anyone fight back. But it turns out they chose the wrong beach if that is what they wanted.” Reef responded.
As Reef had suspected, the vandalism began the very next day.
Miguel decided to stay in Léon despite Reef’s assurances that they were safe.
“Nothing is going to happen to us at the shop,” he promised Miguel.
“But my abuela…she’s not feeling so good again…” Miguel hemmed.
Reef rolled his eyes and headed toward the beach.
One day I am going to tell him that I know both his grandmothers are dead and have been for years, Reef vowed, but he knew he was lying to himself. If it made Miguel feel better to hide behind those lies, who was Reef to stop him?
Reef knew that he had not seen the end of Luna Cruz, but instead of being angered by it, he felt himself strangely aroused by the thought of seeing her again. He had met many beautiful women, but none who carried themselves as she did. He was almost eager to see what she would do next.
We are beginning a game of chess and we have each exposed our queens. Let us see who will make the more brazen move.
It was Luna. When he arrived at the surf shop, someone had taken an axe to the small shack. Reef almost laughed.
“Is that the best you’ve got?”
In turn, he went to meet Ever and Marisol who owned the nearby café. Like all the others, they had signed the deed over to Sanford for a pittance, thinking if they did not the government would seize their property and give it to Sanford.
Reef explained to them that the tactics Sanford had used to obtain the deed were illegal, and he offered to take the couple to the local police station to report the crime, but they were too afraid to do so.
That evening Reef filled Miguel in on all that had happened. Miguel was terrified that Reef was getting involved and encouraging others to accuse Sanford of criminal activity.
Miguel pleaded with him. “You cannot go up against a company like Sanford.”
Reef smiled patiently.
“You have so little faith in our own power. Are you going to let some developer rip down our stores to build condominiums or a hotel? Playa Poneloya is too beautiful for that.”
“Oh, I don’t know, amigo. We can always build another shop,” Miguel fumbled
Reef stared at him for a long moment.
He is not you. He knows fear. There is nothing I can do to alleviate that in him. Nothing except win this fight.
And Reef had no intention of losing. It was not the Hanover way.
On Wednesday morning a light rain clouded the bright Central American sun, but Reef knew he could not stay away from his shop. He did not know what Luna Cruz’s next move would be, but he intended to be there for it.
If Miguel had told me about this earlier, I could have stopped it. But, I can’t go back and change that. I must contend with this woman head on.
He was game for the challenge, and on some level, perversely enjoyed the idea of such a confident, strong-willed opponent.
As the Jeep stopped at the surf shop, he gritted his teeth.
Bulldozers had appeared on the site overnight, and while no men were present on the job, it was evident that demolition was at hand.
I cannot go home at night, Reef realized. I must stay here and monitor their movements.
Removing the keys from the ignition, he gazed about.
It’s very bold of them to begin construction when their paperwork is being questioned.
Reef shoved the legalities from his mind for a moment, climbed out of the vehicle, and unlocked the shop. He froze in his tracks.
Luna Cruz was standing in the center of the small shack with her back to him, her form-fitting black pencil skirt and tight white blouse cutting an hourglass shaped silhouette in the dimly lit room. But as beautiful of a figure as it was, Reef was instantly distracted by the sight of a bottle of lighter fluid in one of her hands, and a flame rising from the lighter in her other.
“What are you doing?” Reef demanded, all the muscles in his body tensing.
Luna turned to look at him, shaking her head.
“You just could not leave well enough alone, could you?” she asked.
“Get out of my shop!” he growled. “I’ll have you arrested!”
Luna smirked and Reef found himself as fascinated by the curve of her mouth as he was by the curve of her hips.
“I don’t think you will,” she told him. “I think you will give me what I want and we will call it a day.”
Reef was filled with a fury unlike anything he had ever known.
“You think that setting this place on fire is going to get you what you want?”
Luna shrugged as if no matter what he decided, it made no impact on her life.
“One way or another, Sanford Corporation gets their deal. You can prolong it or give me what I want. I suggest the latter. It will be less costly for you in every way.”
Reef’s mouth dropped open and he stared at her.
Give her what she wants? I am going to give her something she will never forget.
Before he could stop himself, Reef pounced on her, his face a mask of fury. A look of shock passed through Luna’s face as the lighter fell to the floor, the flame extinguishing before anything ignited. He ripped the bottle of starter fluid from her other hand and threw it to the corner of the room.
“What are you—” Luna trailed off as he pinned her against the wall.
Ruthlessly, he silenced her with brutal, bruising kiss, his strong fingers encircling her throat.
Slightly elevated above the floor, he felt her twitch and immediately he was filled with horror.
Stop! What are you doing? Reef demanded of himself, but he could not stop because Luna was responding eagerly.
She thrust her tongue into his mouth. It was the most aggressive kiss he had ever experienced.
He raised her higher, and Luna’s arms enveloped his toned back. She snaked her hands underneath his t-shirt and Reef began to massage her throbbing throat, his breath finding her ear.
“Is this what you want?” he asked as he pressed his hard body, and even harder erection, against her.
She let out a pleading moan, which was all Reef needed to give in to his hatred-filled lust. With his free hand he yanked her skirt down till it fell on the ground beneath her. Then forcefully, but slowly, he pushed his middle finger deep inside her already soaking wet center, relishing her cries as he curled his finger inward, repeatedly stroking her g-spot as his thumb pulsed against her clit.
His finger and thumb stroked her harder, as he next slid his ring finger back up and into her between her firm buttocks.
She would get precisely what she wanted.
Unceremoniously, he dropped her to the floor, towering over her as she stared up at him yearningly.
He flipped her onto her stomach, grabbed her hips, and pulled them up and back towards him so her firm, round ass jutted up in the air. He ripped off the tiny black g-string covering the prize he wanted so badly.
“Do it!” she moaned. “Give me what I want!”
Reef’s board shorts were already around his knees, his hand grabbing a fistful of her silken black tresses.
He wet his other hand with his mouth, and used it to lubricate his engorged member before pushing into the tight hole between her beautiful tan cheeks.
She clawed at the floor, struggling to accept so much of him in such a small opening.
He would show her no mercy. She did not deserve it, not after what she had done to him and his neighbors.
In and out he pushed
, slowly and powerfully, each thrust deeper, and each thrust causing her to gasp and moan even louder. He pushed himself in all the way to the hilt. Her body began to quiver. The soft smooth flesh of her ample buttocks pressing into his crotch was more than he could handle, and he fought not to immediately cum.
To avoid climaxing he paused his movements, and took a moment to savor the sight of his thick hard cock penetrating her perfect heart-shaped ass.
Frustrated that he had stopped, she pushed her hips back and forth, trying to re-start the movement.
He quickly spanked her with his free hand. “Keep still, he commanded. “I’m in charge,” he explained as he spanked her again even harder, marveling that a butt that large could be so firm.
She looked back at him with the eyes of a woman who had never met a man capable of dominating a woman as strong and assertive as she.
He resumed slowly and rhythmically thrusting in and out, pulling her head back by her hair even farther, exposing the tender lines of her neck
The urge to taste her was irresistible but Reef could not bring himself to do it.
I cannot…
But his resolve dissipated with the words, and he could not stop himself.
His fangs elongated, he leaned in. Luna began to spasm beneath him as she violently orgasmed, causing him to erupt in ecstasy inside her, his entire body contracting as though a single muscle.
Moaning and fighting to catch her breath, Luna lay motionless as Reef – fighting to regain his composure after losing himself with her – allowed himself one final thrust into her before letting her down, pushing her away.
What did I do? Why did I act so rashly?
But even then, as he wrestled to make sense of what he had just done, he found himself staring down at her beautiful naked behind, wanting nothing more than to feel it pressed against him again.
Shocked at his uncontrollable desire, he looked guiltily away as Luna slowly regained her composure and pulled her skirt back on.
“I don’t know how that happened,” he stammered as he struggled to pull his shorts back on over his still semi-erect penis. “I’ve never lost control of myself like that.”
Luna smiled. She picked up something off the floor and then walked over to him.
“Well I’m glad you did,” she said coyly as she leaned into him, opened her hand to reveal her ripped g-string, and then slid it down the front of his pants.
She kissed him passionately as she took the loose string of her ripped thong, and slowly wrapped it around and around the enlarged length of his silky-smooth shaft.
“Something to remember me by,” she whispered.
He stared at her, completely confounded as to how to feel about her.
With her right hand sill in his pants, she reached her left hand behind his head and tilted it down until his forehead met hers. As he stared into here eyes, mere inches from his, he realized there was something small and metallic in her hand on the back of his head.
Before he could react, she sighed “You gave me what I wanted, now – unfortunately – it’s time to call it a day.”
And with that she slid her right hand to the base of his shaft, wrapped her index finger and thumb around the top of his scrotum with the rest of her hand cupping as much of his heavy testicles as she could hold, and violently jerked downward, dropping him to his knees.
She then quickly walked to the corner of the shop, picked up the bottle of starter fluid and sprayed it on a rack of towels and t-shirts, and then – with the lighter in her left hand – lit the place on fire.
“No!” Reef yelled as the entire wall instantly erupted in flames.
Chapter 3
“I don’t want to go, amigo,” Miguel told him again, but Reef ignored his friend.
“You have to have a little faith in me. Have I ever steered you wrong?” Reef asked, the Jeep traveling down Coastal Highway 14.
“I have spoken with the others, No one else wants to get involved with this feud you have started with Sanford Corporation.”
Reef blinked innocently.
“What feud?” he asked and Miguel grimaced unhappily.
“Please, Reef, no one wants any more trouble.”
“There will be no more trouble,” Reef assured him. “Luna Cruz has gone missing. Sanford has suddenly lost interest in the beach.”
Miguel’s dark head whipped sideways to stare at his friend.
“Missing?” he echoed. “What do you mean missing?”
Reef shrugged, trying to keep the smile from his face.
She was an ingenious woman, truly.
The fire was always meant to be a front for her own disappearance. If he had not happened along when he did, Reef would have never seen Luna again.
“I hate this company,” Luna confessed as they watched the surf shop burn to the ground. “I have been looking for an out for years.”
“Why do you not just leave?” he demanded, cringing as the flames claimed his beloved shop.
Luna smiled sadly. “You do not just walk away from Sanford. In my career, you are the only one who has not been afraid to stand up to them.”
She had planned it meticulously.
With the mysterious circumstances surrounding the fire and her disappearance, Sanford would back off.
“It will allow your friends to reclaim their property, and perhaps result in Sanford being investigated,” Luna told him.
She stared at him wistfully and apologetically as he stood bent over, still visibly aching from her manhandling.
“Sorry about that too,” she said, “but I couldn’t let you stop me. I can’t imagine how bad that hurt; I wish there was time for me to kiss them until they feel better, but I have to get out of the country as soon as possible to disappear. I wish there was another way…”
Of course, Reef was a problem solver. There was always another way.
As they drew closer to the town of Poneloya, Miguel caught his breath.
“Is that Marisol and Ever?” he whispered. “They got their property back?”
“Everyone got their property back. Sanford is under investigation, and many of the executives could be facing criminal charges. They seem to have lost interest in our little beach and have relinquished the deeds as a sign of good faith.”
“How did you manage this, Reef?” Miguel demanded.
“What makes you think it was me?” Reef shrugged.
Then Reef pointed at the spot where their shack had stood and Miguel gasped again.
“Wh… who are they?” he demanded, watching the men reconstructing their shack. The skeleton of the building was already proving to be twice the size of their original structure.
“They are a peace offering from Sanford,” Reef answered laughingly.
“Has the girl been around since the fire?” Miguel asked.
Miguel did not know anything about what had happened the morning the surf shop had burned and Reef did not see the need to elaborate. As far as his business partner knew, the fire had been going when Reef arrived.
“Which girl?” Reef asked nonchalantly.
“Luna.”
“Oh… No. I haven’t seen her here,” he replied.
That much is accurate. I have not seen her here. She is in a cottage on my estate in Léon laying very low.
His pulse quickened as he thought of the raven-haired beauty laying between the silk sheets, waiting for him to return.
I will not be long, my love, he whispered to her.
I’ll be waiting, Luna called back and Reef licked his lips, still tasting her blood on his lips.
“What are you smiling about?” Miguel demanded suspiciously.
“I’m just happy that everyone got their properties back,”
Miguel grunted again and climbed out of the car as if he did not believe a word coming out of Reef’s mouth, but Reef did not care.
He had much to smile about.
