Restored (Shattered #2) Page 11

by Heather D'Agostino

When he reappeared, he was holding a scarf and a necktie. He motioned to the bed as he peeled his shirt off. “Come here,” he pointed to the spot right in front of him. He grabbed my hands and held them out in front of me. “Hold them up.” He took the tie that was draped over his arm and began binding my wrists. “Tell me if it’s too tight,” he mumbled. Once he had the tie knotted, effectively restraining me, he turned me around, so I was facing the bed. He grabbed the scarf and covered my eyes as he mumbled, “I’ve wanted to try this for a while Babe. You have no idea what a turn on this is.”

I laughed lightly but was silenced by a quick slap to my ass. I yelped and jumped forward slightly.

“Quiet!” Nick snapped as he slapped me again.

I pursed my lips together and nodded in agreement. Just as I was starting to get used to my surroundings, Nick turned me again. I felt the back of my thighs hit the edge of the bed as he pushed me back. Once I was flat, I felt him climb onto the bed with me. His hands danced up my sides as he removed my bra and panties. When he’d gotten my panties off, the bed moved again as he got up. Panic started to set as I began to feel alone. He’d left me here naked, blindfolded, and turned on beyond belief.

“Nick?” I called out. “This is a mean trick.” I waited for him to answer, “I’m sorry?” I tried again.

“Shhhh,” he whispered as the bed dipped once again, and I felt his warm naked body settle against mine. “You’re so fucking hot,” he growled.

“Mmmmmm,” I moaned as I felt him lean in and nip my lobe.

He began plying my neck and face with light kisses, and I soon began to relax. I felt the bed move again and was prepared for anything but what I was met with. Ice. He had ice in his hand, and he began trailing it over my body. I felt my nipples harden when he dragged it across my breasts, and goose bumps rose all over my body.

“You like that?” he whispered as he leaned in beside my ear.

  “Un huh,” I mumbled incoherently.

I felt the cube trail down my stomach and slip to the inside of my thighs as my hips bucked up off the bed.

  “Nick,” I gasped. “Please…no more,” I panted.

The ice left my skin and was soon replaced by a warm, hard body. His chest pressed against mine as he slid himself in me.

“Don’t ever doubt me again Leah,” he groaned as he pushed in as far as he could go.

  “I won’t,” I gasped. “Please…more Nick…more.”

The lack of sight seemed to intensify everything. I could feel the slickness of his chest as he moved against me. I lifted my bound wrists and reached blindly trying to place them over Nick’s head and around his neck. He must have sensed this because he grabbed them and helped me. He sped up as our hips slapped together in a punishing rhythm.

“Oh god,” I shouted as my body quaked and tightened around him.

“I love it when you call me god,” Nick panted as he paused to change our position.

After removing my arms from his neck, he flipped me over so I was on my stomach, grabbed my hips, and lifted them into the air as he slid back into me from behind.

“So good,” he mumbled as his fingers pressed into me.

As he continued to slide in and out I could feel myself reaching that point again. “Nick? I’m gonna…” I gasped as I felt bliss.

“Shit!” he growled as I began tightening around him. “You feel so good.”

I could feel him trembling as he tried to hold it off, but he was too far gone to stop it.

“Ughh,” he growled as he let his orgasm take over, and slumped against my back.

  ooooooooo

“That was…” I trailed off as I turned my head in Nick’s direction.

“Amazing?” he finished for me as he reached up to remove the blindfold and wrist restraints.

We were currently lying side-by-side on our backs on the bed. Sweat covered us along with a pair of stupid grins.

“I never knew it could be that intense,” I murmured as I took a deep breath.

“Not that I’m counting or anything, but how many was that for you?” Nick turned his head to look at me.

I blushed as I turned away from him, “That’s not important.”

“Oh I think it is,” he rolled onto his side and spooned behind me. “It’s very relevant to me.”

“Three…I think,” I mumbled as I rolled further away and buried my face in the pillow that was behind my head.

“New record,” Nick chuckled as he kissed the back of my shoulder.

“You seem rather proud of yourself,” I mused.

“Yep,” he popped the P. “Do you believe me now? That you’re the only one?”

I nodded as I curled and rolled over to bury my face into his chest. “Can we stay like this for the rest of the day? Just like this? In bed?” I peered up at him through my lashes.

“Sure,” he grinned as he wrapped his arms tighter around me.

I sighed contently as I fought the battle I was losing with exhaustion. The run on the beach and this amazing experience had me worn out. I yawned a few times before I finally gave up and let sleep claim me.

  Chapter 15

  Leah

When I awoke the next morning, Nick was gone…again. This waking up alone was going to get old, fast. After yesterday’s debacle, I was more determined than anything to get back into school. I needed the distraction. If all I did was sit around here every day twiddling my thumbs, I was going to go insane.

After dressing, I made my way out to the kitchen to fix myself some breakfast. Not two minutes after I sat down, I heard a soft knock at the door. My head snapped up, and my gaze connected with the same blonde from yesterday. She was shifting on her feet nervously as her eyes scanned me through the glass. I couldn’t help the smirk that slipped into place. I felt a little pride in her discomfort. After all, she made me feel awful the day before.

I slowly stood, and made my way over to the door. When I opened it, she held up a plate covered in foil.

“I bring gifts,” she handed me the plate. “I’m sorry about yesterday. I’m Callie,” she stuck her hand out for me to shake.

“Leah,” I nodded as I took the plate from her and shook her hand.

“It’s chocolate…I hope you like chocolate…Nick didn’t say…” she began to ramble as she toed the deck.

“It’s fine,” I murmured. “Would you like to come in?”

“Sure,” she stepped through the door and made her way over to the table.

“Coffee?” I motioned toward the kitchen.

“Thanks,” she smiled at me as she walked into the kitchen as if she knew her way around.

“Nick and I are just friends. I hope you know that,” she called over her shoulder as she poured herself a cup.

I nodded as I sipped my own coffee, “So he says.”

“He’s telling you the truth. Ever since the day I met him, all he’s talked about is you,” she grinned as she came back into the room.

“Seriously?” I wrinkled my forehead at her.

“Well…maybe, not since the day we met,” she giggled. “The first day I think he was flirting.”

I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand up as the green monster began to wake up. “Really?” I scoffed.

“Yeah…then I told him I had a boyfriend. Once he met Dwayne, I think he decided I wasn’t worth a broken bone.”

“Dwayne?” I placed my mug down on the table and crossed my arms over my chest.

“Yeah…my boyfriend? Dwayne Hardy?” she flipped her hand in the air.

“You mean…” my eyes went wide as realization kicked in.

“Yeah…one in the same,” Callie sighed as she glanced out the window. “He’s away right now. They had two away games back to back, so he didn’t come home. I really miss him,” she trailed off. “But…only one more semester and I’m done with school. Hopefully I can travel with him then,” she grinned. “Next time there’s a home game maybe I can get some tickets for you.”r />
“That would be nice,” I stood to take my dishes to the sink.

“Well, I better get going. It was nice meeting you Leah,” Callie began to walk toward the door. “Again…I’m sorry about yesterday.”

  “We’re good,” I offered a half smile.

After Callie had left, I settled myself on the couch with my laptop. I wanted to get on UNCW’s website, and see what I needed to do to apply. Avery, Logan, and Cam were supposed to come visit in the next couple of weeks, and I wanted to have this taken care of by then.

  ooooooooo

  Nick

When I arrived home, I found Leah in the middle of the living room floor surrounded by papers.

“Babe, what are you doing?” I wandered over to where she was and flopped down on the couch.

She looked up at me and sunk her teeth into her lower lip, “How do you feel about me going to school?”

“School?” I cocked my head to the side.

“Yeah…that’s what I want to do. I want to go to college. I missed all that…” she trailed off as she shuffled the papers around. “I want to go to school.”

“Ooookkkk,” I stretched it out as I watched a small smile appear on her lips.

“Really? You’re not mad?” she bounced up onto her knees and shuffled in my direction.

“Why would I be mad?” my head jerked back as I watched her reaction. “I want you to be happy. If going to school is going to make you happy, then I’m all for it.”

“I love you,” she squealed as she launched herself at me.

“I love you too,” I mumbled into her neck. “Is that why you seemed so off when I called you at lunch today? You thought I wouldn’t like this?”

“Well,” she averted her gaze “maybe.”

“Leah,” I tipped her chin so I could look into her eyes. “I want you to stop worrying about making me mad. Couples fight all the time. It doesn’t mean I’m going to throw you out or anything.”

She tensed when the words left my mouth, “I know.”

“Is that what has you walking on eggshells around me? You think I’m going to want you to leave?”

  “Maybe,” she muttered.

“Baby, you need to stop. I told you…we’re in this together,” I kissed her deeply on the mouth before grabbing her by the shoulders. “Stop holding back. If you want to tell me something, then just do it.”

“But we already fight all the time,” she whined. “I don’t want to make it worse.”

“You’re not, but we need to talk about stuff. If you’re wanting to tell me something, then tell me. Don’t hold it back because you’re afraid.”

  “Ok,” she mumbled.

“Ok as in you promise?” I dipped my head down so I could look her in the eyes.

“Promise,” she gave a quick nod. “Now help me go through all of this. I want to see if I qualify for any discounts since you work there.”

I sighed as I picked up the packet of paper. I already knew the answer to that. The only way she could get a discounted tuition rate was if a parent or spouse worked at the university. I didn’t want to scare her, but I’d already been planning on one of those. My brother was going to come up in a few weeks, and he was going to help me with it.

  ooooooooo

  3 weeks later…

“Dude, are you sure about this bro?” Cam shook his head as I handed him a shovel. I’d been planning this for a while now, and he was finally able to come help me. It took some conspiring, but I was able to sneak away from Leah tonight and get the two of us downstairs.

“Yes! Would you stop asking me that?” I growled at him. “It’s all been leading up to this.”

“I know but…” he shook his head. “Are you really sure?”

I rolled my eyes as I turned to face him, “Stop asking me that. I’m sure. Now…are you going to help me or not?”

“Yes,” he grumbled. “I don’t know why me helping you always involves so much manual labor.”

“That’s what little brothers are for,” I chuckled. “To do all the lifting, or in this case…all the digging.”

After grabbing a shovel for myself, I began walking out toward the beach. “Now come on, and be quiet.”

Cam grumbled as he followed me out to the beach. I’d been planning on proposing for a while now, but I hadn’t thought of how to actually do it until last week. I think Cam was more worried that I was rushing into things, but like I’d told him…this has been a long time coming. I mean, seriously, Leah and I have been in love which each other for the past eight years. We haven’t been together for all of them, but our hearts were still connected. After she’d moved out here with me, I kept asking myself “what was I waiting for?” The truth was, I didn’t really know. We were already living together, the next logical step would be to get married, right?

“Are you going to help me, or just stand there staring at the ocean?” Cam yelled.

I jerked my head in his direction as I came back to the present, “Would you be quiet. Your voice carries out here on the beach.”

Cam blew out a breath, “I’m going to go to bed, unless you start digging too.”

“I’m digging,” I narrowed my eyes at him as I pointed to his idle shovel. “Get back to work.”

We spent most of the night on the beach barely stopping to get a break. By the time we were finished, the sun was just beginning to rise over the water. I was exhausted as was my brother. I was honestly surprised that he stayed all night. My back hurt and I had a nice collection of blisters on my hands from digging, but my masterpiece was something to behold. I only hoped that Leah liked it. What was I saying? I hope she loved it. I wanted to do something so great that it would be burned in her memory as a day she’d never forget.

“I’m beat,” Cam groaned from beside me. “Don’t take offense at this, but I’m going to bed, and if you wake me up…I’m gonna kick your ass.”

I quirked my lips in an amused smile, “Kick my ass huh?”

“Yeah…that was a lot of work. I didn’t sign on for that when I offered to help,” he began walking back toward the house dragging the shovel behind him.

I jogged to catch up with him, “Thanks Bro, I owe you one.”

“Yeah…well I’m going to remember that the next time I need someone to watch Aaron,” he glanced over at me as he leaned the shovel against the side of the house.

“Get some rest,” I patted him on the back. “I’ve got more work to do.”

“See you later,” Cam climbed the stairs and disappeared into the guestroom.

  ooooooooo

I glanced at the clock one last time as I finished setting the table for breakfast. Normally I was gone by this point in the day. Leah would get up and spend the morning alone. I knew when she woke up to an empty bed, she wouldn’t think anything of it. She’d assume I was at work. She wouldn’t expect breakfast on the deck with me. I grinned at myself…I’d done well.

  ooooooooo

  Leah

When the morning sun began to rouse me, I thought I’d heard voices. I knew it must be Cam on the phone with someone. He’d come to visit the night before, and was going to stay with us for a few days. Nick had to work, so I’d be the entertainer for the morning.

After pulling myself from the warm sheets of the bed, I dressed in a pair of sweats and pulled one of Nick’s hoodies over my head. Fall was here, and it wasn’t cold, but it wasn’t warm either. I tugged my hair back into a ponytail, and made my way out to the kitchen to fix myself some breakfast.

  ooooooooo

When I rounded the corner, Nick was leaning against the counter. I jumped I was so surprised. I wasn’t expecting him to be there.

  “Morning,” he smiled at me.

“What are you doing here?” I gasped.

“I wanted to have breakfast with you,” he smiled softly at me.

Upon further inspection, I noticed the dark circles under his eyes. He looked as if he hadn’t gotten much sleep, and when I moved to hug him, he st
iffened.

“What’s wrong?” I peered up at him.

“Nothing,” he shook his head. “My back hurts, I think I slept wrong or something.”

“You look as if you didn’t sleep at all,” I mused.

“Come on,” he grabbed my hand. “I fixed us a nice breakfast on the back deck.”

My mouth dropped open in surprise. Nick never made breakfast like this. My curiosity was peaked as he tugged me through slider and onto the deck.

“What’s all this for?” I glanced around wide eyed. There were waffles, fresh fruit, cinnamon rolls, bacon, juice, and coffee spread all over the table along with a few other things.

“I wanted to celebrate,” he leaned in and kissed my temple.

I couldn’t help but melt into him, “Celebrate what?”

“You,” he grinned. “It’s a beautiful day, isn’t it?”

Nick had moved over to the railing and was gazing out at the ocean. I walked around the table, and came to a dead stop when I got up beside him.

“Nick?” I gasped as I pointed at the beach. “Is that?”

I’d lost all forms of communication as I stared down at the sand. There dug out in big block lettering were the words “Leah Will You Marry Me?” I gripped the railing tighter as blood rushed in my ears. My eyes began to blur with tears as I looked up at him.

“I love you,” he grabbed my hands. “What are we waiting for here? Marry me, Leah. Make me the happiest man on Earth.”

My mouth opened and shut a few times before the words came,” Yes! Yes! Yes! I’ll marry you!” I cried as I jumped into his arms.

He chuckled as he gripped me tighter before leaning back to make contact with my mouth. I moaned as his tongue swept across my bottom lip seeking entrance which I gladly gave.

When I pulled back, I looked up and grinned, “When did you have time to do all this?”

“I had help,” he smirked, “and I didn’t sleep much last night.”

“I love you so much,” I buried my face in his chest as I tightened my arms once again.

“Can we eat now,” he chuckled. “I’m kinda hungry after all that digging.

“Yeah,” I giggled “but I think a day in bed is in order after you stayed up all night.”
