The Garden of Fibs and Sin (Filthy Fibbers, Prequel) Page 7

by Jason Lloyd

“You’re getting me all worked up again,” Tristan announced with a playful grin. His green eyes became affixed to mine. His expression turned serious. He stared into my dark brown eyes the way a predator looks at his prey. He looked like he was ready to pounce.

“I can see that,” I said while wiggling my body on top of his. “And now I certainly can feel it. Hey, there big guy.” I laughed.

Tristan ran his fingers through my auburn hair, guided my head to his lips, and kissed me fervently. I could feel my body relaxing with his caress. My asshole practically puckered. I wanted to be completely engulfed by his passion, but our tryst was interrupted by the sound of my fucking doorbell!

  “Ugh,” Tristan groaned.

“Hold that thought and erection,” I said as I clambered off Tristan and out of the bed…

  Interview Questions by Fans

  1. For the next installment of the series, what direction will it be headed? Where should we expect it to kick off?

The next book, Filthy Fibbers will pick up right where we left Daniel. As you can see from the little snippet that is included in this anniversary edition. The book will the flash forward three weeks ahead. Daniel’s friends will try to piece together what happened on the night of his disappearance. You’ll get to meet some of Daniel’s friends and discover some of their dirty little secrets. It’s going to be a good time.

  2. How many books will be included in the Filthy Fibbers series?

So far, three books total are planned.

  3. Are any of the characters in The Garden of Fibs and Sin based on real life people?

I loosely base every character on someone that I know or have encountered.

  4. What character in the Filthy Fibbers series do you identify with most?

Joshua Underwood, hands down. Joshua is a major character in the next book (Filthy Fibbers). You’ll get to know him more soon. We have the same personality and view on things. Josh is loosely based on a younger version of myself, even right down to appearance. In a way, I’m playing myself in the series. I’m projecting myself into the story.

  5. In most novel/stories, the main character embodies characteristics that the audience can connect with, thus making them likable or lovable. You picked someone (Daniel Darling) who is basically an anti-hero. What was the reasoning behind this unique choice?

Anti-heroes are fun to write. I wanted someone the audience would love and hate at the same time. Daniel can be such an asshole, it makes you (the audience) want to kill him, but in the end, you end up loving him. He’s funny, crude, bitchy, and over the top. He’s the most complex character I have ever written. You may hate him in the beginning of the book, but you’ll route for him before it is all over.

  6. If you could spend the day with Daniel, what would you do?

I would love to spend the day with him! We would, of course, go shopping, and have some cocktails. I hope that he would pay. My bank account would not be able to keep up with Daniel’s taste.

  7. How do you choose characters’ names and do they have any connection to your real life?

I wanted my main character, Daniel to sound rich, and privileged. I bounced around some name choices and finally settled on, Daniel Patrick Darling II. I just loved the way in sounded.

Damien is loosely based on a very sexy guy I know, right down to the muscles and tattoos. The person that he based on actually picked the name. He said if he ever did porn he would want his name to be Damien. I thought it had a nice ring to it.

I have always liked the name, “Ethan.” Let’s face it; it’s a hot sounding name. Daniel is very fickle and of course, he would bounce around between two gorgeous men.

I always seem to pick character names that I like. I’m partial to names that start with, “J” so I’ll always have a main character with a, “J” name. For example, Joshua Underwood. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that my name starts with a, “J.”

  8. What was your favorite part of The Garden of Fibs and Sin?

I loved the bathroom scene at Sparkle. It’s hot and it’s creepy as fuck!

  9. What was the hardest part of writing this book?

Killing off a character in a story is always hard. You want the scene to be believable, dramatic, and shocking. You want the audience to not be able to put the book down. That’s the biggest compliment you can give an author.

  10. In Daniel’s dreams, he goes down a long hallway and enters a blood-soaked room. Inside that room is a full-length mirror, and later a black jeep with Ethan in it. Other than the vivid imagery, is there any significance of this in the future telling of this story? If so, what is it?

As a writer, I love to use symbolism wherever I can. The dream sequences in the book are hidden with clues. I don’t want to tell you the significance of the dreams because it will give too much away and that’s no fun! Daniel’s dreams are his way of dealing with what happened. You’ll eventually discover what that is.

  11. At what point in the future will we find out what Daniel and Ethan did?

You want me to spill the beans? I can’t do that. In every part of the series, more will be revealed. Be patient young grasshoppers.

  12. This prequel had elements that reminded me of, I Know What You Did Last Summer, by Lois Duncan. What inspired you to write this story, and what are your major influences?

I never read, I Know What You Did Last Summer, but I think everyone has seen the movie. The movies can’t be compared to books, though! I like campy horror, so I wanted to write something that was funny and creepy. I grew up with 80’s-90’s slasher movies and I wanted to create a story that would reflect what I grew up with, except this time all the main characters are gay.

  13. Is this last time we will see Daniel, or does he come back in future installments in this series?

Daniel is a main character throughout the whole series. You’ll see again in one form or another.

  14. Does the mystery assailant at the end of the prequel have a history with Daniel (separate from the unknown terrible thing he was part of) and if so will we find out what it is in the next book?

This is a fabulous question! Without revealing too much, Daniel does have a history with the assailant. The assailant is someone that Daniel knows. There are some shocking secrets that will be revealed in the next book. That’s all I can say.

  15. When can we expect the next installment?

Hopefully, Fall/Winter of 2016. I had to take a small break from the series so I could focus on other projects. Plus, this gave me more time to research a few things for the series.

Thank you so much to everyone that had submitted questions!
