To the right are seats for the people Rick kept as his collection. They are like my jury in other words. I want them to know they are part of this with me. That they can do good along with me.
The other side is a booth for whoever is on trial.
The other end of the room is a long oak wood table for the meetings. The place is spacious, and no magic can be used toward others apart from myself of course, unless I allow it. I don’t want any magical influence when in this room to be used on others.
“What should I do with the girl? Can’t keep her in my arms all day.” Rush winks at her, and her face turn bright red before she looks at the ground.
“What’s your name by the way?” I haven’t even asked for her name.
“I’m Kayleigh.”
“I’m Ivory. The guy carrying you is Rush. This is Slate, Caspian, and Zeke.” I point to each of the guys. “Rush, will you take her to one of the rooms.” Rush nods. “Once you are in your room, it’s yours for however long you want it. You are safe here, trust me.”
“Thank you. You are like my guardian angel.” She takes hold of my hand, giving it a squeeze. “Thank you for saving me.” Her voice breaks a little, and I see tears form in her eyes.
So many thoughts must be running through her head. Thinking of the what ifs. I’m just happy that I got to her in time, a minute later and she could have been scarred emotionally for the rest of her life.
“Once I sort this ass out, I will come up, and we can have a talk. Just try and get some sleep and try and not to overthink everything, easier said than done, but try.” She nods and gives me a small smile before Rush walks out.
I walk over to my seat and slump down. I look at the demon in the seat; he is looking around, probably seeing if there is a way to escape, but I know there isn’t. When I was talking to Kayleigh, I could hear him struggling to get up. I bet he knows it’s useless.
“You okay?” Slate asks me, taking a seat next to me. Caspian and Zeke take theirs.
“Yeah, I’m okay. So much for celebrating your last night on tour. Once this is over, you all can go out and have fun; you might need to before all this new responsibility kicks in.
“Hey, we knew this was going to happen. Luckily, we finished the tour with no problems; we have an eternity to go out and have fun. I told you before, we are in this together.” He takes hold of my hand.
That’s something else I have been ignoring recently.
I’m going to age.
The guys don’t know this, but I met with Finn, and I asked if now that I’m this source of power does that mean I will live forever, but he doesn’t know. There’s a chance I could be immortal but also a chance that I’m going to grow old and die.
The one thing Finn does know is that I won’t be able to turn. Even if I wanted to turn into a vampire, it will be impossible. The magic that runs through my veins, the source of all magic, won’t allow a vampire’s blood to change me.
I’m still young; I have a good twenty years before I really start to show my age, but I know the older I get, I’m going to see women who will always be younger than me. More youthful, who will see the band as a challenge to bed.
I wonder what will happen to my magic if I do grow old and die. Will it go to the next person who is destined to take my spot? A different prophecy for them? So many questions enter my head daily; there’s no way for any of them to be answered.
“You look lost in your thoughts.” Caspian brings me back to reality.
“Sorry, yeah, just thinking.”
“You might want to bring the others.” Slate nods to the seats for those with gifts.
I close my eyes, and I send a mind message to each of them, asking for their help. Opening my eyes, I watch as each seat starts to fill. Soon, all the seats are full. I stand and walk over to them, hugging each of them, asking how they are.
I look at Ronny, the boy with messy red hair who beams at me and runs into my arms. He was one of Rick’s favorites. I found that his gift is to look into your heart. To see what you desire and bring it forth.
He brought my parents and best friend to the trial; I know he didn’t have any choice. I give him a good squeeze, and when I feel a tap on my shoulder, I turn to see Claudia. She was also used in the trial. Her gift is to see the inner truth. Rick wanted her to bring two people, two people I would protect then choose which would live.
I remember when she brought Mazy and Sean.
Mazy being a girl I was surprisingly sexually attracted to and Sean, a guy I wanted to be friends with.
I look at each person, and Rick was right, each of their gifts are rare and special.
It’s when I feel a hand slip into mine and I see the little boy who shot me—the one Rick forced a gun into his hand—looking at him brings a flashback of that moment.
The emotions that were running through me.
The pain I felt.
“This isn’t possible.” Rick stands, looking at everyone on the ground groaning. “You are just a measly girl.”
“Never judge a book by its cover.” I walk toward him. “Now, I am going to hurt you. And I am going to enjoy every second of it.”
“I don’t think so.” He grabs something from behind him; he has a gun in his hand. “Supernatural gifts may not hurt you, but I know this will.” He grabs a child from his collection off the ground, putting the gun in his hand. “Shoot her,” he tells him. I see the child hesitate. “Do it.” He lifts him from the ground, looking into his eyes, compelling him, and the child raises the gun slowly, his arm shaking.
I look at the gun, my eyes open in fear. I knew I was going to die today, but not like this.
Not by a gun. I remember Zeke telling me what it was like when he was shot, that he wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.
I look at my parents, the ones that have a love that I wish I could someday have. I may not have their kind of love, but being with Rush, Slate, Zeke, and Caspian, deep down I knew I’d fallen for each of them.
At the end of the day, they did own my heart.
I love them.
I love them so much.
I watch the child’s finger move on the trigger; I have never been as scared as I am right now, and today has been quite scary. He pulls the trigger, the bullet shooting through the air and hitting me right in the chest. Feeling that sharp bite, pain shoots through my entire body.
My hands automatically move to where I was shot, blood pouring out of me, covering my hands.
I look at my mom, who screams out.
I fall to my knees, my hand pressing into the wound. I feel arms wrap around me; my parents kneel with me, checking me over, my mom crying out to me.
“Don’t you dare leave us,” Emz cries at me. “You leave me, and I swear I will bring your ghost ass back.” I chuckle, my body starting to shake; I feel each part of me getting cold.
“You gave a good show, too bad that you are human at the end of the day,” Rick says, sitting in his throne. My dad walks over to him and punches him hard in the face. “Because you are watching your daughter die, I will let that slide. Try that again I will feed on your wife as you watch.”
“You monster,” my dad says before coming back to my side.
“Well, what am I going to do with you four?” He looks at the guys. “I guess I will let you have your last words with your plaything, but I think your punishment is to watch her rot. You will stay here until her body decays. You will have an eternity to remember it. Remembering when her soul leaves her body.”
“I swear I will kill you,” Rush shouts at him.
“I have heard that already.” Rick sits back in his throne. “You all are boring me; back to your homes, thank you for taking part.” One by one Sean, Mazy, and Emz disappear.
“I won’t leave you.” Mom takes hold of my hand, her tears falling on my cheeks, then she is gone, my dad with her. I am here now on my own. I fall back on the ground. I turn my head to the ones who changed my life.
“Be happy,” I whispe
r.
“Petal,” Caspian cries.
They all fall to the ground and run over to me, tears falling down their faces onto me. “I don’t want to die,” I barely say. “I am so scared.” My vision starts to blur; I know my life is leaving this body. “I love you all.” I smile at each of them, before my lungs tighten and darkness takes me over.
I honestly thought that was my last day on earth.
I look at the little boy; his name Charlie. I bend down, hugging him and his hands slip around my neck, his face pressed into my shoulder.
“I hope you don’t mind, but he brought me with him.” I look up to see a woman with the same green eyes as Charlie—she must be his mother. I stand and, soon, she is pulling me into a hug. “Thank you for bringing my boy back home.” She cries into me before stepping back, wiping the tears away.
“You both didn’t have to come. I know you are so young.” I mostly look at Charlie.
“I want to help do good,” he says in a small voice.
“He told me what happened with Rick, the things Rick made him do with his gift, what Rick made him do to you. Charlie is determined to help you. I want to wrap him up in cotton wool and hide him away from the world, but I know I can’t.”
“As long as he and your family wear your necklace you will be safe from the supernatural world, the human world I’m afraid not, but I am trying to make this world a little better. With the help of your little boy, I am sure we can do it.” I wink at Charlie, and he beams at me.
“I just can’t believe that vampires, magic, faes, and god knows what else exist. Makes you think.”
Yeah, tell me about it. “I know, but you have to remember that not all are bad and evil.”
“I know, I just wish that we were still none of the wiser.” She looks at her son.
“I know.” I pat her arm, giving her a small smile before I go back to the guys and Rush has joined us. “Is Kayleigh okay?”
“Yeah, you should have seen her face when she saw her room, but I think she is going to lie down.”
Yeah, that’s understandable. “Thank you, Rush. Well, I guess we need to get the show on the road.” I walk over at the demon, and with a flick of my hand, he is standing in the booth; he tries to move, but again he’s stuck on the spot. “Hi, everyone.” I grab everyone’s attention. “Today, I had a premonition, vision type thing. It was my first. Luckily, because of it, I was able to protect a girl with a gift also. A gift this man, this demon was after for someone he works for.”
“Do we know who he works for?” Charlie speaks out. His mom whispers something to him, and I smile.
“He won’t say who it is, but with your help, I am sure we can get it out of him.”
“Haven’t you tried getting it from him?” Charlie asks.
“Sorry about this,” his mother says and whispers to her son again.
“It’s okay, he’s asking what I am sure everyone is thinking. I have tried, but we think there is some darker magic that is stopping him from telling us. I do need your help in getting a name, but I also need your help with what we should do for his punishment.”
“For trying to steal a girl’s magic?” Charlies asks. I think his mother has just given up in telling him to stop speaking out. I hate that I have to say what he almost did to Kayleigh, what he tried to do.
“He was going to kidnap her, yes, to take her to his boss, but he also tried to hurt her in a very, very bad way. A bad way that no person should go through.”
“He tried to rape her?” Charlie says.
“Charlie, that’s enough,” Charlie's mom says sternly.
“It’s okay.” I clear my throat. “Yes, he tried to rape her.”
“She was begging for it,” the demon speaks out.
I glare at him. “Shut up.” He has the audacity to smirk at me.
“I bet she is thinking about me right now, lying in bed, thinking of me between her legs. Too bad you stopped it, I am sure I would have made her day.” He blows me a kiss.
I walk slowly toward him while his eyes dance with humor. “You think you’re funny, don’t you? Well, let’s see how funny you are when you can’t speak.” I place my hand over his mouth, and when I move my hand away, his mouth is gone. I watch as his hands move to where his mouth used to be and his eyes go wide.
“That’s so cool,” Charlie says quietly, but I hear him.
“Can you help me, to see if you can figure out who is the boss is and then we can go from there?” A few who can use their gift to help stand and they slowly walk toward the mouthless demon. I can see some are a little pensive about being near him. “You’re safe, I promise,” I reassure them.
I take my seat again, and I watch as they all take turns trying to gather any information they can get. I watch as one by one they tell me that nothing is happening. I watch as Claudia and Ronny try really hard to get something, but they look at one another and then at me.
“It’s like something is blocking his thoughts from all magic,” Claudia says, coming toward me. “I have never seen anything like it.” She takes her seat again, and Ronny gives me an apologetic look before sitting down.
I look back at the demon and even without a mouth, I can see his eyes taunting me.
Great.
“Right, well we need to keep him locked up until we can figure out how to unshield…” That’s when it clicks. He’s shielded. Well, not him personally, but his thoughts. His mind. I walk over to him and palm his face, not caring if I’m being rough. Light shines from my hands, and I circle it around his body, and I notice how a force is stopping it from being near his head.
Bingo.
“His mind is being shielded. Or rather, his brain. Whoever his boss is, they are very clever and must be powerful to do this if none of us can break through it.” I step back. “Right, he will be locked away…”
“What about his mouth? He will need to eat.” Charlie looks at the demon. “I know he’s evil, but we can’t stoop to their level. Can you not turn him human like you did Rick?”
I look back at the demon, and his eyes go wide hearing that I turned someone human. I know the reason I was able to do that was because the whispers told me to.
I know that sounds crazy, but I like to think it was the inner source of all magic that was whispering like it knew it was the only way for me to listen. I don’t hear whispers now, so I don’t think I am meant to do that.
“I can’t turn every bad thing human; I need to make sure I keep balance in the world,” I say. I flick my hand and the demon’s mouth return, but I make sure no sound comes out. I don’t want to hear any more filth from his lips. “Okay, his voice is gone, will stay gone until he’s ready to talk.” I walk back to the demon. “Hope you enjoy your stay at Casa Bennett.” Just like that, he is gone.
He is in a small room that looks similar to a prison cell. A single bed in the middle at the far wall, a desk that has a few books. The only difference between the room and a cell is that the room has no doors or windows. A mailbox type shape appears when it comes to meal times but then it disappears. Hopefully, with the isolation, he will soon tell me what I need to know.
I know the vision is for me to find who is behind this and to stop them. I know Kayleigh isn’t the only girl they will be after; I just hope I can save those that are on their list.
I say my goodbyes to everyone, and I take my seat, sighing, feeling tensed up. It feels like a lifetime ago when I was with Slate even though I know it was just a few hours ago.
I tell the guys I want to be on my own for a little while, and I know they want to object but they listen and head out. Walking around the room, I glide my hand along the chairs, the table.
Climbing onto the table, I lay back, looking up at the ceiling. Magically, I start hearing music in the background. Sia’s “Alive” is playing; I close my eyes, letting the music relax me.
I feel my body start to go limp when I feel hands on my bare legs, drifting up toward my thighs. I open my eyes to see Caspian at
the bottom of the table.
Chapter 4
Ivory
Caspian gently spreads my legs open, kneeling between them, his hands moving up and down my thighs, each time his fingers getting closer to my pussy.
The last few hours have been so stressful and exhausting, I need this.
Caspian’s touch always calms me.
His eyes start to go black as he looks at my wet pussy. When he licks his lips, I almost groan watching him. When I feel his nails teasingly scratch up and down my legs, I want to beg for him to touch me there.
To touch me more intimately.
I arch off the table when he leans down and licks along my inner thigh. I am basically arching my ass off the table, wanting him to taste me, to lick around my clit.
He is teasing me.
I cry out when his tongue touches my folds, and when he does reach my clit, I almost combust. He presses two fingers inside me while sucking my clit, the sensation making my legs start to tremble. He sucks my clit harder, already I know I’m about to come.
I feel that ache again, that ache that my orgasm is about to hit me when his tongue is gone, and I whimper at the loss, but then I cry out when I feel his fangs go into my thigh, his nails digging into me.
My orgasm hits me, and I scream out Caspian’s name.
When I start to come down, Caspian stops, and I watch as he pulls down his jeans, freeing his cock. He comes back, hovering above me, his dick at my entrance, and with one quick motion, he thrusts inside me, causing us both to moan.
Caspian likes to be gentle with me, but I know when we sleep together he can’t hold himself back. I like how I affect him.
I wrap my legs around his waist, arching myself off the table, letting him hit me in the right spot. He speeds up, ramming into me. I can feel my next orgasm. Caspian’s eyes are on me.
I see someone move in the corner of my eye, and then I feel hands on my neck, moving my hair to one side. I look up to see Zeke.
He leans down, kissing me, before he begins kissing my jaw, to my shoulder blade to my neck, and then I feel his teeth scrape along my nape, and his fangs pierce the skin. I cry out in pleasure.
