I giggled at the title. That was going to take some getting used to. From the corner of my eye, I saw Mary drift over to Ena and Vander. Mary pulled out the item I saw earlier from her pocket. Curious, I took Dain’s hand and tugged as I moved closer to my sister.
Mary handed Ena a rectangular wooden box. “The seer told me to give this to you, but only after the first quest was complete. I didn’t understand until you girls showed up with the tear. I think it has something to do with your next adventure.”
Ena glanced at me then took the box. She and Vander stared down at it, their heads close together. When she opened it, she frowned. “A blue feather?”
Huh? Oh! “I read something about a feather. Where’s the journal?”
Luna stepped closer and handed me Dad’s journal. I flipped to the page I saw earlier. A drawing of a blue feather with words under it I didn’t understand at the time.
The wind kingdom falls into disarray.
Now, we knew the clues left for me were the rhymes Corinne taught us. Ena nodded. “I know what we have to do. We’re going to Gaoithe, the Kingdom of Wind. Like the tear, the feather belongs there.”
Baxter joined us at that time. I turned to him. “I choose you as my advisor and Dain chooses Dalton. Can the two of you cover for us? I need to be with my sisters while we finish this.” I frowned. “Even though I’m not sure how long since there seems to be a quest for each of us.”
Baxter gave a short nod followed by a bow. “Yes, princess. We will keep Oighear guarded while you’re gone.”
I hugged him tightly. Hope bloomed in my heart.
The eight of us had many adventures and challenges ahead of us, but together, we would prevail.
