But compromise sometimes implied people getting less than what they wanted. Admittedly, before Jenna came into my life, I would have thought that going from seven girls a week to one per lifetime would have felt like getting way less than I ever wanted.

But then I remembered—sometimes, getting less turned out to be exactly what I wanted most. I just hadn’t known it.

The business was thriving without enemies and without stress. Families were growing. Individuals were maturing.

Sure, we had the occasional issue we had to worry about. Thanks to news outlets learning about the Savage Saints, imitators were showing up across the country, more than a few who were using our likeness without our permission. That sucked. That was something the two of us in Las Vegas and Green Hills worked to combat.

But on the whole, it was the most peaceful either club had been in years.

I had my club, I had my girl, and I had a future clear of hurdles. I had a checkered, tragic past, sure, and it was one I would never forget.

I also, though, had a woman present with me and a future with her I would never stop thinking about.

Because I loved her, and she loved me.
