Kieron slowed his pace and kissed her shoulders, cheeks and eyelids. She opened her eyes to see him gazing down at her with infinite tenderness. “You are so beautiful, so damn beautiful, Gena,” he whispered.

He stroked languidly in and out of her body, making love to her slowly, lovingly as he kissed her.

His strokes were deep and firm, and Gena could feel herself growing impossibly wetter. It felt so good. She didn’t want him to stop, ever.

Kieron slid in and out of her, surging deep into her. It felt so good to have him inside her, joined to her. She loved this man, and she trusted him with her heart and her life.

Throwing her arms over her head, Gena surrendered her body and pleasure to Kieron.

She murmured his name as he pistoned in and out of her, driving her closer and closer to the edge. As she began to pant, Kieron suckled her, tormenting and teasing her sensitive, aching nipples.

She was so close, so, so close. But she wanted to take Kieron over the edge with her. “Come with me,” she whispered.

Gena arched her back and Kieron’s hand slid to her nape. He lifted her face to him as he pounded into her, his lips hovering just above hers.

With a final thrust, he covered her mouth with his and swallowed her scream of pleasure. Gena gasped as her orgasm burned through her, searing and igniting every nerve in her body. The explosive heat spiraled through her, setting her entire body on fire.

The fiery pleasure raged through her, and Gena could hear the echo of her own scream. The fire burned on and on, consuming them both, melding their hearts and bodies together.

When Gena finally managed to drag air into her lungs, she snapped her eyes open and blinked. Kieron was holding her tight as she trembled in his arms.

  “Wow,” she breathed.

Kieron exhaled the breath he had been holding. “Gena...” he rasped. “My mate.”

They held each other for a long moment, breathing in each other’s scent and listening to their hammering heartbeats.

“How do you feel?” Kieron asked softly.

“Amazing.” She narrowed her eyes at him and said, “Are you fishing for compliments?”

Kieron quirked a smile. “I claimed and marked you with my dragon fire. I need to know that I didn’t hurt you.”

“No, you didn’t hurt me, Kieron,” Gena said, caressing his face gently. “That was the best sex of my life.”

  “That was mating sex.”

Gena slanted a look at him. With a cheeky grin, she declared, “I want mating sex every day!”

Kieron chuckled and grinned back. “As you wish, my mate.”

  CHAPTER FORTY-TWO

Gena was sitting on the garden bench, enjoying the evening breeze when she heard a high-pitched shout. “Aun-Ge-na!”

She turned to see her little nephew scrambling across the lawn to her. Simone was hot on his heels, but the cheeky little toddler could move really fast.

“Yes, Cullen,” Gena smiled as the little boy came up to her and pointed to his scraped knee.

  “Boo-boo,” Cullen cried.

“Ah, you got a boo-boo,” Gena said, picking the boy up. “You want me to make it better?”

  Cullen nodded eagerly.

Simone reached them and wagged her finger at her son. “No, Cullen. I told you not to trouble your Aunt Gena. That’s just a teensy little boo-boo. You’re a big boy, a big dragon. You heal really fast on your own. You know that,” she admonished.

Cullen pouted and clung to Gena. “Aun-Ge-na,” he pleaded.

Simone shook her head. “Put him down, Gena. You shouldn’t be carrying him in your condition. Cullen is getting quite heavy now.”

Gena smiled. “It’s okay. I can still carry him now, but in a few months’ time, I think my tummy will be so big that I can’t even see my own toes!”

Simone laughed and squinted at Gena’s rounding tummy. “You’re starting to show though.”

“Yeah.” Gena chuckled. “I’m only two months pregnant and already I can feel myself ballooning!”

Gena heard the sound of a car approaching the castle gates. “Oh, I’ll go open the gates. That’s Alex and Paul...”

Simone stopped her. “Lester will do it.” She pointed to the pillar. Lester was sitting at the top of the pillar, scowling at the sunset. He was probably wishing that the sun would set faster so that he could be released from his stone form.

While Simone started towards the gates, Gena turned to Cullen and whispered, “Just this once, okay?” She pressed two fingers against the boy’s knee and healed that small scrape. “There, all better.”

Cullen gave her a loud, wet kiss on the cheek and ran to Simone. “Mama!” He proudly showed his mother the smooth skin on his knee.

“Oh!” Simone clucked her tongue. “Gena, I told you not to...”

The last rays of the sun disappeared just as the car pulled up just outside the castle gates and tooted its horn. Lester immediately stretched his wings and jumped down from the top of the pillar. He dug into the pocket of his coat and produced the remote control for the gate.

“It’s Master Alex and...friend,” Lester announced, as the gates swung open and the car zoomed up the curving driveway.

“Where’s my favorite little dragon?” Alex yelled as he hopped out of the car.

Cullen clapped and squealed excitedly. Alex held up a paper bag and grinned. “Special delivery for Cullen!”

Alex had found his own place and had opened his own restaurant in Redrock Valley. His juicy, tender, flavorful steaks were getting rave reviews from the townsfolk. He was doing pretty well for himself, and he had told Gena a while back that he’d met someone special but he wanted to take things slow. Paul owned a bar just down the road from Alex’s restaurant, and the friendship between the two young men had gradually blossomed into something more.

Gena had met Paul a couple of times, but this was the first time that Alex was bringing Paul to have dinner with the family. Alex drove up to the castle every weekend to have dinner with the whole family, and to share new recipes with Lester. But he always came alone. He wasn’t ready to plunge into a new relationship. His heart was still healing, and Gena understood that he needed time.

But tonight, Alex finally brought Paul to have dinner with them.

Gena smiled warmly at Paul as the shy young man stood awkwardly beside the car. Alex took Paul’s hand and introduced him to everyone. “This is Paul, my boyfriend,” Alex announced.

Lester and Simone shook hands with Paul and ushered him into the castle. Cullen had shifted into a little silver dragon and was climbing up Alex’s torso, trying to reach the paper bag in his hand.

“Cullen!” Breene bellowed at his son.

Cullen started and lost his balance. As the little dragon tumbled from Alex’s shoulder, both Alex and Paul fumbled in panic as they tried to catch Cullen.

A large hand scooped the tiny, flailing dragon up just before he hit the ground. “I got you,” Kieron said, cradling his nephew. “You gave everyone a fright!”

Alex handed Lester the paper bag and said, “The steaks are freshly grilled, so they’re still warm. I’ll help you plate them.” Turning to wink at Cullen, he added, “There’s one special steak that’s marinated with Cullen’s favorite sauce. That’s for my favorite dragon.”

Cullen bared his tiny, sharp teeth in a grin. Simone had almost dropped the boy in shock the first time he shifted into dragon form. Cullen sometimes spent days in dragon form, refusing to shift back to human form despite his mother’s threats and pleas. He had small, sharp dragon teeth, and he discovered that he could gnaw on delicious, juicy steaks with those awesome teeth. He especially loved the steaks from Alex’s restaurant.

Simone had been so worried to see her baby prowling around in dragon form for days on end. But Breene, Lachlan and Kieron assured her that it was just a phase. They all went through that phase, they told her. “Don’t worry. He’ll tire of it soon,” Kieron said. “All kids think it’s cool to be a dragon.

Simone held out her arms and Cullen leaped gleefully into his mother’s arms.

“Why don’t you shift back into my sweet little baby boy?” Simone cooed.

The little dragon snorted and bared his teeth. “Okay, you’re a fierce little dragon,” Simone said, laughing. “But you’re still my baby.” Breene came up to them and bent down to whisper something to his son. Breene gave a mock growl when the mischievous little dragon scampered up his arm and sat on his shoulder.

Gena ran her hand over her tummy. “Do you think our baby will be like that?” she whispered to Kieron.

Her mate nuzzled her neck and grinned. “Of course. Our baby will be a mischievous, boisterous, stubborn little beast. No doubt about it.”

Gena smiled when she saw Paul and Alex holding hands as they made their way to the kitchen. They were a very sweet, loving couple and she saw how happy they made each other. Alex had mourned Joe, and his heart had taken a long time to heal. But he was finally ready to open up his heart again.

Lachlan was already in the kitchen, stirring a big pot of soup. “Hey,” Lachlan called out cheerfully. “Lester gave me free rein in his kitchen tonight!”

“The soup smells great!” Alex said encouragingly. He introduced Lachlan to Paul, and the three of them began to laugh and talk like old friends as they helped get dinner ready.

While Breene and Simone kept their cheeky little son out of everyone’s hair, Gena and Kieron helped Lester set the table and pour the drinks.

Once all the food was on the table, everyone sat down to eat. Cullen jumped from his father’s shoulder onto the table and crouched in front of his plate, his small tail twitching impatiently.

Kieron cleared his throat and raised his glass. “Here’s to family,” he said.

Everyone grinned as they raised their glasses. “To family!”

Gena sipped her glass of milk and looked around the table. This was indeed her family. They had gone through a lot together, and they had all stood by one another even in the most difficult times.

Cullen was tearing into his steak with gusto while his parents and doting uncles looked on with both pride and amusement. Gena smiled and leaned her cheek on Kieron’s shoulder as he put one arm around her waist and touched her tummy lovingly.

Soon, there would be two rambunctious, boisterous little dragons in the castle. The whole place would be turned upside down!

Ah, family. Her family was so awesome and wonderful, and they gave her so much love and joy. She couldn’t imagine her life without them.

Gena sighed happily as Kieron laced his fingers through hers.

“You’re my angel,” she whispered to her mate.

Kieron kissed her and said, “And you are my hero.”
