Anyway, there is a reason behind this post, and that’s to share some great news. I’m going to be a wife. Yes, that’s right, the sexy bald, tattooed guy popped the question, and we’re to be married in a month.
I’m still sober… but, sulking because I can’t drink champagne at my own wedding.
Bye for now.

Hello. My name is Kat, and I’m an alcoholic…
It’s been two hundred and two days since my last drink, and I’m happy to announce… we did it. I’m now Mrs Katherine Olivia Reeves.
Whoa, that sounds weird.
I’ve posted some pictures of our special day, and I think you’ll agree, it all looked amazing. If you’re particularly not fond of gushiness and romance, skim past this bit. I won’t be offended.
Gushy bit…
Grumpy acted as my father. He gave me away, and he walked me along the beach, in the bright sunshine, to meet my future husband. Some brides will tell you that they know in that moment they’ve made the right decision. I can unequivocally say I have. The moment I saw him waiting for me, smiling at me, I knew he was the love of my life, the man I’ll be with until the day I die, and the man who will take care of me.
Benny was my maid of honour. She fulfilled her duties perfectly, and she cried… a lot. Raven was Connor’s best man, and his speech was a major hit, with yells of banter thrown between him, Eddie, and Nelson throughout.
Dan made it to the wedding, even when we thought he wouldn’t, and his recovery is going just as well as mine. I still have the flower he gave me, and it sits along with all my other treasured possessions in my walnut box. I take a peak in from time to time, only when I need a reminder of all I’ve lost, but at the same time, it’s a reminder of all I’ve conquered. Dan took us up on our offer of bringing a plus one, and we were introduced to the lovely Samantha. They met at a ‘meeting’, and it’s still early days for them, so watch this space.
We had only a handful of guests. We kept it small, intimate, and private. It was not just a celebration of our love, but a celebration of the people we love and cherish.
Audrey was the mother of the groom, and she cried almost as much as Benny. I see the pride in her eyes every time she looks at Connor, and proud she should be. He’s amazing.
We danced, we laughed, we served soft drinks, tea and coffee, cakes, and sandwiches at The Café With No Name down by the marina. I can tell you without doubt that Connor’s band mates were pretty annoyed no alcohol was allowed. They kept sneaking off, hiding somewhere and having a drink or two. I don’t mind, I’m just thankful they were considerate enough to respect my wishes.
It was a special day. Simple, elegant, perfect.
Who says romance is dead? Raven and the Blue Bottles performed a few tracks, and I especially loved the part where Connor sang just for me, my song, Jersey Girl. I blushed throughout the whole song.
The boys continued to play for us, and they were amazing. Raven took lead guitar and vocals. Connor had great delight in teasing him for not being as good as the other guy. Raven has only just learned to play that instrument, and in my opinion, he did a stellar job.
The opening bars of Everyday by Buddy Holly rang out, and I was at once reduced to a puddle of mush. It was our first dance song, just like it had been for my parents.
I’m the luckiest woman alive.
On the day of my wedding, I made a silent promise to myself, and to those I adore with everything I am. I promised I would continue to stay as strong as I am now. I also promised that I’d make it up to all the people who’ve stood by me, encouraged me, and loved me for who I am. I promised – for the rest of my life – to return all they’ve given me.
Now time for the juicy bit, the wedding night… mind your own business (stick out tongue emoticon).
I’m still sober… married and sober.
Bye for now.
Kat.
Hello. My name is Kat, and I’m an alcoholic…
It’s been two hundred and ten days since my last drink, and stop the press, more exciting news.
She’s done it. Only gone and bloody done it. Benny, she’s written her first novel, and I’m biased here, but it’s amazing. I’m so proud of her.
She’s written a book called ‘Jersey Girl’.
I hope you’ll read it, and if you enjoy it, leave a review here.
I’m still sober…
Bye for now.

***The End***
We know the drill by now. This is the part where I thank all the people who have made this book possible. There are a few people, but I’ll try to keep it short, but sweet.
To Tammy – the cover designer. When I stumbled across this beauty I knew straight away that it fit Kat and Connor perfectly and I just had to have it. Thank you for putting up with a demanding author. The end result is stunning.
Karen – my editor – is a wonderful human being. She’s not one to mince her words when she sends back the first round of edits, and I will be eternally grateful for her honesty. I think we make a pretty good team.
Susan Scott – my PA is the best person I know. She puts up with so much from me, a whinging and whining message here and there, my self-doubt days, and a barrage of cheeky gifs to keep our spirits up. I love you, woman.
My daughter – Shelby. She believes in everything I do without limitation. She listens to me talk about my characters (as if they’re real people), and she encourages me to write them as strong individuals. I am so proud of the young lady you’ve become, and I love you so much.
My husband – Ian. He’s the most amazing person I know, I have ever known, and will ever know. He puts up with an awful lot of my shit, and he deserves a medal. I love you.
To my readers. You guys rock, and I love you all.
