  Devoured Again…

Ginger stood with her back against the wall, looking at the card that co-worker Matt had given her. It had two ‘x’s in it, and it wishes her many more happy birthday to come.

He had kissed her on the cheek when he had given her the card and she had to do her best not to blush like a silly little girl. He was tall, Matt, and he always smelled like expensive aftershave and clean clothes. He could also be her child – no, her grandchild – so it was better if she just got him out of her head altogether.

It was difficult, however, as she gathered her bag and organized her desk, to stop thinking about him without his clothes on. His arms were probably really muscular, she thought, her mouth watering at the mere thought.

A clumsy clink noise brought her clattering down to reality and she grabbed her purse and walked towards the door. She was walking slowly until she saw that a man had stopped to hold the door open for her. Matt, ever so polite, was smiling as she went through the door.

“Are you coming out tonight? We are all meeting up at Bar 21 for a few drinks to celebrate the end of the quarter,” He said to her. He was wearing a white button up shirt and black trousers. She could almost see the lines of his body under the button-up, though…

“I might,” She said, as she saw his look turning from one of kindness to confusion. “I have some plans with some girlfriends for my birthday so it depends on when that finishes. Maybe we should all pop in!”

“Yeah,” He laughed, raising his eyebrows. She liked the dimples he got when he smiled, “That would be quite a sight. Anyway, have a lovely birthday.”

“Thanks, and thanks for the card. It was very thoughtful of you.”

It was his turn to blush. He looked down at the floor as Ginger took the flight of stairs that was going to take her to her car.

Matt waved at her from the window as she looked in her purse for her keys. The car started up with a rattle. Ginger stepped on the accelerator and made her way to the small farmer’s market in which she normally got all her produce.

It was raining and it took longer to get there than usual, so the stalls were already closing by the time she finally managed to park and run up to the stall, the man that usually served her was wearing headphones and well on his way to the parking lot. She screamed and waved at him, but nothing seemed to get his attention. Frustrated, she turned back.

She was startled by a woman that looked much older than her, had no umbrella and seemed to be hunched over in an uncomfortable stool.

“Oh my God,” Ginger said, “Are you okay?” She knelt down and put her protective shawl around the elderly woman.

Her beady eyes looked up at her as if to thank her for her kindness. She nodded as she extended her hands towards Ginger and wrapped her wrinkly hand around her own.

“It is your birthday today,” The woman announced unexpectedly. Ginger was startled and just looked at her with wide eyes. “Thank you,” was all the woman said after several minutes, when the storm had subsided a little. “I did not think there was any kindness left in the world.”

“That is okay,” Ginger said, taking her soaked shawl and stuffing it in her oversized tote bag. “Is there anywhere I can take you? Are you waiting for a ride?”

The elderly woman shook her head slightly, almost imperceptibly.

“No, but I do want to help you. Take this, and you will become young again, just for one night. I am a healer by profession,” Only after she had said this did Ginger notice the open stall behind her full of home remedies and other knickknacks, “and you will be able to get the one you covet with it.

You did me a kindness, so I am doing you one. Now go, I know someone is waiting for you. And don’t worry about me, I will be fine.” Ginger grasped the small glass bottle in her hand, not wanting to be rude and ran towards her car.

She looked back to waved at the old lady but she did not seem to be there anymore. Shrugging, she got into her car and made her way home.

It was about eleven o’clock when her friends had left and Ginger remained wide-awake, if a little tipsy. She put on a film from her

childhood and enjoyed the microwave popcorn she kept stashed away for special occasions. The glass bottle that she had told her friends about and they had laughed at for the remainder of the night, sat on top of her coffee table, touched but still unopened.

Ginger drunkenly took the lid off. There was a plastic cover under it and she hesitated before removing that. She mumbled something about being adventurous to herself, snapped the plastic and sniffed the liquid. It smelled like honey and lemon tea.

She swallowed the entire bottle in one go and felt herself getting dizzy. She closed her eyes and concentrated on the noises coming from her television screen. She stretched, yawning, after a few minutes, when she was sure that the potion she had drunk was definitely not going to kill her. It was time for bed.

She made her way over to her bathroom for her skin care routine and to get ready for bed. She scrambled over the sink looking for something and she tilted her head up to look at the mirror while she brushed. She gasped as her reflection had totally changed.

Ginger looked like the girl she had been when she was twenty. She was a very attractive sixty year old, but most of her wrinkles, her laugh lines, the traces of her life on her face had disappeared. She looked fresh faced and wide-eyed. She shrieked as she saw the image in front of her and walked a few steps back.

Her strawberry blonde hair was back to its natural, dirty blonde color and the dress, only a size ten, looked like it had been made for a giant. Ginger touched her head, wondering if she had a concussion. Then she brought her hands up to her face and started to touch her smooth skin.

She couldn’t believe it – she looked exactly like she had forty years ago, like nothing had changed. She pinched herself and winced at the sudden pain. She ran to her closet, found a dress that she had bought which ‘she only had to lose a little bit weight of her’, and quickly dressed herself.

She re-applied her make-up and brushed her hair quickly. She took her mobile phone and called for a taxi. She was definitely going to have a good night – the type of night she used to have when she was in her twenties.

Bar 21 was always packed, especially on Fridays. She was worried about the bouncers, because her only ID showed her as she was now, but they paid no attention to her as she slipped inside and went to order a drink at the bar. She asked for a gin and tonic from the tattooed bartender and he gave her a goofy smile as he prepared her drink. Ginger looked in her clutch bag for money, but the bartender waved her away.

“It’s been paid for,” He said, pointing at a man on the other side of the bar. He was tall, and handsome, she could almost recognize him, but it was difficult to tell with the dim lights – he stuck his head out a bit so that she could see him better from under the shiny light and she was surprised to see that it was Matt.

Not only was he still in Bar 21, but he was buying her a drink, and she had not even had to ran up to him and ask him about it. Ginger waved him over and he walked slowly to meet her where she was.

“Hi, I’m Matt,” He said, sticking out his hand and giving her a confident hand-shake. “It is nice to meet you.”

“Yeah, you too. My name is Ginger,” She said, without thinking. Her name was uncommon and she nearly bit her bottom lip off after she had said it.

“Pretty name,” He answered. “I have a colleague named Ginger. “She kind of looks like you, actually, just a little older.”

“I have it on good authority that all Gingers look kind of the same,” She replied, lightheartedly. Matt chuckled at h
er joke.

“Do you smoke? We could go outside; I can hardly hear you over this music.” He said, pointing towards the door. She agreed and he grabbed her hand as they made their way to the back. It was a little cold, so the beer garden was only sparsely occupied.

He motioned for her to sit down in one of the chairs and when he realized that it was wet with rain from the afternoon, he took off his jacket and put it on the chair.

“Do you come around here often?” Matt asked after he had lit up a cigarette.

“No, I am just visiting,” She replied, tapping the desk with her fingers.

“I like to think I would remember someone as pretty as you, but then again, I am rarely ever sober when I meet people at bars, so maybe that would be an unreasonable expectation,” He said.

She smiled at him, looking up, her cheeks red from the weather and her feelings.

“You are quite the charmer, huh?” She asked him jokingly and nudged him. “I bet all the ladies are in love with you.”

“I doubt any lady is in love with me,” He was quick to reply. He took a drag of his cigarette as Ginger was left staring at him for a bit.

You are wrong, She thought, I know of someone who is definitely in love with you.

“I wonder why,” was what she said instead,

  “You wonder why what?”

“I wonder why no one is in love with you,” She said, and winked as soon as she realized how harsh it sounded. He was taken aback a little bit, but his face softened as a smile shone on his face.

“Perhaps I am not charismatic enough” He said, “Or maybe people don’t like my personality.”

“I’m sure that’s not true. You are – I mean, you seem like a pretty nice guy.” She smiled warmly back at him. “What are you planning to do for the rest of the night?”

“I don’t know… I think I will probably call it a night soon, go home, maybe watch a film before bed.” He sat down next to her and twirled a finger around a strand of loose hair. “I would not be opposed to having some company.”

“That would be nice,” She said to him. He kissed her on the lips, his cold lips warming against her soft, full ones and she wanted more as soon as he had a little distance from her.

He held out his hand as she squeezed it as they went to get a taxi together. The taxi was cramped, but she liked being close to him – his skin was making her feel warm and a little safe.

He clutched at her hands, his fingers interlocked with hers and gave her another full kiss on the lip before dedicating his attention to kissing the side of her neck with slow, sweet, small kisses as he got to the nape of it, which he nibbled, kissed and licked.

She felt waves of pleasure all over her body as he did these things – she had wanted him to for so long and now that he finally was part of her could not believe it. He told the taxi to stop in front of his house. They got out, still kissing, and she made her way up the steps backwards as he held her up slightly from under her buttocks.

“Shush,” He said as he clumsily inserted the key into the lock and opened the heavy metal door, “I think my flatmate might be home. He was traveling and…”

“I don’t really care,” She said sincerely as she resumed kissing him on the lips. She put her hands on his neck and her legs around his waist. He was completely carrying her now, one hand placed firmly over her ass cheek, the one around her waist so that she would not fall. She could feel his erection even through the hard denim fabric and the zipper.

He walked to a door which was half open and threw her on his soft mattress. Ginger scrambled to take off his trousers. She unzipped him first, and then popped the button open. His erection was huge and she could feel herself getting excited as she wrapped her fingers around his throbbing knob.

She started to stroke him up and down and he seemed to get even bigger under her touch. She stroked him up and down, lightly touching his balls as he hovered on top of her, making sure that he was not crushing her with his arms. He then went down and started to kiss her on the lips, all while she kept stroking his dick and tugging lightly at his balls.

He kissed her on the neck and slid down the spaghetti straps of her dress to reveal her bust. She had small, firm breasts with pink nipples that begged to be sucked. They were totally erect and he took them into his mouth and gave them a quick lick and a swirl as she moaned, enjoying it completely and throwing her head back as she felt the sensation spread over her.

She took his hair and tugged slightly at it. He moaned too, as he withdrew his wet mouth from her nipple and started to kiss her stomach, making his way towards her pussy.

He put his hand on her pussy and stroked her clitoris up and down, enjoying the fact that it seemed to get her juices flowing tremendously and she was moaning like there was no tomorrow. He licked her labia and the outside of her pussy, enjoying her sweet taste as she seemed invariably closer and closer to orgasm.

“You are wet,” He playfully said to her, his mouth drenched in what she had produced and went back to twirling his tongue around her most sensitive areas.

She moaned as he did so expertly and her hips started to buckle as she felt the beginning of an orgasm start to build within her loins.

He kissed her clitoris and tongue fucked her for a little while longer before she was begging him to put his dick inside of her. Matt was more than happy to oblige. He climbed on top of her and penetrated her quickly and with ease, thanks to how lubricated she was.

He moaned as he entered her tight little pussy and she dug her fingernails into his back, groaning and moaning in ecstasy.

Ginger took her legs up and brought them up to his shoulders, wrapping them around his neck as he started to go faster and faster into her.

She felt herself start to climax as she reached down and lightly touched his balls and the underside of his dick – he felt the start of an orgasm as he pounded her once again and he came inside of her.

Their clothes were still on because they had been that horny for each other. Matt collapsed next to her, grinning, and stretching his arm so that he would hold her close. He nuzzled his nose and mouth on her neck and stroked her hair.

“I am so tired,” She said. “That was wonderful.”

“I am glad you had a good time. I really enjoyed myself, too,” He replied, playing with a loose strand of hair that had fallen on her neck , twisting it and untwisting it around his finger. “I am tired too. It has been a pretty exhausting day.”

“I have to go, though,” Ginger said, starting to rise up from the bed, “I have a few things I need to do.”

“At two in the morning, on a Friday? I have heard of commitment phobia but I think that is a little harsh. I was not planning to ask you to marry me or anything,” He chuckled. Ginger always loved how confident he seemed even when things did not seem to be going his way.

“No, but – but early tomorrow,” She lied through her teeth. Ginger did not know how long it took the potion to wear off and she was frightened about what was going to happen if he was ever exposed to her real self, “I really should not have stayed out as long as I did. I am going to have a really bad headache tomorrow.”

“Ah, but I know the cure for that,” Matt replied to her. “I will set my alarm and I will drop you off. I have a car so it will be quicker than catching the bus.”

Ginger tried to think about how she was getting out of that one, but in her drunken haze could not think of any more excuses and only gave him a half open smile.

She thought again and again, could she sneak out of the house? She excused herself to go to the bathroom and washed her face, all while she kept thinking about it.

But she would probably be heard and she did not want to do that to Matt since she had had a really good time. Maybe the potion lasted a few days – she had the weekend, and Mondays were normally her day off, so by Tuesday, when she had to go back to work, everything would be fine and back to normal.

Yeah, that would be probably it, she doubted that the strange old l
ady that had given her the potion would have put some sort of Cinderella clause on it. Then again, she had not been particularly communicative, had she? And it was not like you could just trust any stranger when it comes to drinking potions.

She had gotten younger – but surely it was only a temporary thing. She had a life she had led and was happy where she was. She hoped she would not stay young forever, as she would have had to start all over again and it would have been difficult.

She yawned and stretched as Matt gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and bid her goodnight. Her eyes were wide-open for what seemed like ages, but her eyelids started to get heavier and heavier.

Ginger tried to stave off sleep, but her eyelids were too heavy and they closed on her view like heavy curtains.

Birds were tweeting and chirping outside. The light coming through the sides of the curtains hit off Ginger’s face.

She put a hand over her closed eyes as she moaned, wondering if she had to go to work. She almost got up, zombie-like, to the bathroom to start getting ready. As she slowly opened her eyes and found herself in a strange house she started to remember bits and pieces of what had happened the night before.
