  Chapter 1

  The Next Day

  Daisy

His tongue flickered the fuck out of my clit rapidly like it held the Energizer bunny captive inside of it. My legs shook more vigorous than an earthquake, loving the way his soft slippery tongue slid against my slit as leisurely and slithery as a snake. I didn’t think he was going to be able to keep going having been licking for nearly thirty minutes it seemed. Yet he pulled my waist closer towards him forcefully, refusing to allow me to inch away for relief. It was as if he never thought once about stopping.

  …Ooh, ooh, ooh

  Ahh, ahh, ahh

  Yeah, yeah, yeah

  Mmm, mmm, mmm

In the Playa's Club, checkin' at your body, baby

Steadily tossin' that cash flow, baby

'Cause you drive me crazy, won't you be my lady?

Betcha, I can make your body talk to me, talk to me

All I need is my CD, bag of weed and some Cristie

Then I'm gonna stroke you up and down, messin' with your head

And when you leave up out my room, you'll be walkin' bow leg

I can keep your body comin' like CTA

You're dealin' with a true baller, baby

Givin' you the keys to my Mercedes

Not gonna stop till you scream my name

And say, "Ooh Kelly, you make me holla"

Keep on jumpin' like an Impala

You slidin' that sexy ass down the pole like what

  (What, what, what)

Come and get some of this, R&B thug, baby

I'm just an R&B thug, babe

Tryin' to get some ass, babe

  Do you wanna thug, babe?

  (You wanna R&B thug?)

I'm just an R&B thug, babe

  Lookin' for some love, babe

  Do you wanna date, babe?...

My thighs squeezed against his face gently for a bit of relief hoping not to cum too fast but he pried them back open holding them so they could interfere no longer. Every bit of warmth of him, I craved. I wanted his strong hand rubbing every inch of my smooth brown skin. The more I thought about his sensuous strong touch and his powerful body pressed against mine the more I felt I would no longer be able to hold back the fucking explosion growing inside of my fat clit. I was about to cum all in his mouth and it wasn’t a damn thing I wanted to do to stop it.

“Daisy, girl.” I was bolted up out of my dream by momma’s wretched voice calling me from the hallway.

“Ugh. What is it?” My lip curled over as I sat up looking around the room frustrated noticing that my man was not lying there beside me.

“I just came to bring you some breakfast sweetie,” Momma grinned entering the room with a plate of eggs, toast with strawberry jelly, five slices of bacon and cheese grits. “Awe, you slept in your clothes and shoes last night. How do you feel?”

“I cried myself to sleep and my fucking eyes are red as ever. How do you think I feel, momma?” I was grouchy as hell.

“Don’t get snazzy with me. I’m just trying to help,” she grumbled placing the plate down on my nightstand before taking a seat next to me on the bed.

“You could’ve helped me by not holding me back and letting me go to the police station last night. I could’ve helped him, momma. Quince needed me and I should’ve been there for him.” My eyes glanced at the breakfast knowing she put her foot in that shit but it only made me sick to my stomach as the way the cops handled Quince filled my thoughts.

“You are helping him, by staying out of it. You can’t do anything for that man, honey. His kind doesn’t need to be in this neighborhood, muddying it up with his filth.” She stroked a fly away of my hair before I batted her hand away.

“What are you talking about momma?”

“Daisy, you can’t sit here and tell me you didn’t know,” she growled rising from the bed attempting to clean the clothes scattered around on my floor. “He was no good for my baby.”

“Huh? What the fuck are you talking about no good for me? Isn’t that my decision? Shouldn’t I decide that? Momma, I’m a grown motherfucking woman sitting right here. You can’t interfere in my life anymore.”

“I’m not. I’m just looking out for your best interest. I’m still your momma and I’m gonna always look out for you,” she paused turning to look me in my eye. “That’s why I called the police yesterday to investigate him.”

“You did what?” I snapped, my eyes slowly curling into anger. “How could you do that to him momma?”

“Daisy, you’re naïve about this man baby girl. I don’t know what this hold is that he has over you in such a short amount of time but he is slowly changing you. You are a bright girl with a promising future. Why would you want to throw that all away?”

“Why the hell would you do that momma? This is my damn life and I’m grown as fuck. I can be with whomever the fuck I choose.”

Momma threw the folded clothes down on the bed and took a seat right next to the pile. I loved her. The Lord knew I did. But she was only assuring me more and more each day that it was a bad decisio
n moving back in the house with her. My eyes fixated on the floor unable to bring them up and look her in the eye. Quince was gone to jail because she had called the police on some hating ass shit and now I had to work overtime trying to make that up to him. Momma treated me like a kid every chance she got. It was time to get the fuck up out of her house and be able to stay gone for good. I loved her but she was way too involved in my life.

“I refuse to let you flush everything you’ve worked so hard for down the drain.” Momma stood heading for my bedroom door. “I hope you didn’t give him none of that punany either. That man isn’t worthy of any woman’s goodies at all.”

“Momma, whenever I decide to give my cookies away, you’d better believe it will be going to the right man. You can’t control what I do. I’m not a fucking kid anymore,” I pouted.

“I hope so sweetie pie. I’m just looking out for your well being. You are a bright young lady and you’re too good for the likes of him, Daisy. You should already know your worth.”

“I’ve gotta live my own life momma. Maybe you should worry about doing the same,” I breathed feeling a bit guilty once the words escaped my lips. “I don’t need you to raise me anymore. You have to let me go and stay the fuck out of my personal life.”

Before she could say something to arouse the argument once more, I stormed past her snatching my phone and keys from the dresser next to the door and bolting down the stairs. She called after me as if she wasn’t done cussing me out yet and wanted to finish the conversation. It was only because she wanted to have the last and final word but I wasn’t for any of that shit. I hit the front door ready to head over to Quince’s house just to get away from her nagging voice.

“Oh shit.” My hand clenched a handful of t-shirt feeling my heart thump inside of my chest. “What are you doing here?”

“Oh, my bad. I didn’t mean to scare you baby girl. I just came over here to holla at you about getting our nigga out of jail.” Montana placed his hand on the porch railing for a lean.

“Oh my gosh, you know where he is? I’ve been fucked up all night thinking about him.” Confusion seeped through my expression. “I called around to all the stations and none of them have any record of him being arrested.”

“I know. I got a friend on the inside who said they had been questioning my nigga all night on some bullshit. They just fucking with him for no reason, mad cause they ain’t got shit on him. Them pig ass motherfuckas gonna release him today though one way or the other.” Montana walked off headed back to the jet black Lincoln Navigator. “I got the dough if he needs bail. I came over here to see if you wanted to come with me so I can send you in there with the money to get him. When they ask for the bail just let them know you got it. That way we don’t prolong shit.”

“That’s wassup. Hell yeah, I’ll come with you,” I responded. “I might be able to use some of my legal know how to help get him out of there.”

“Naw baby girl. Ain’t shit legal about what they on with Q right now.” Montana’s dark chocolate skin seemed to glisten in the sunlight. “If you can’t leave that school girl shit alone and get gutta then maybe you should just stay here.”

His eyes were filled with rage. I could tell that he might have been up all night distraught and worried about Quince’s whereabouts as well. He looked rough. Even the True Religion jeans, his Diesel skull and roses graphic t-shirt, and fresh J’s on his feet couldn’t hide the notion that he might have been up all night with no sleep stressing out about it. He waved me off but I pulled his arm forcing him to turn and lock his sight back on me. For some reason, he made me nervous as shit with him glaring back at me but I couldn’t let him leave without me.

“I’m not just gonna sit here and do nothing. You’re just gonna have to deal with me cause I’m going with you,” I snarled hoping I kept me tone to a decently calm level.

“Daisy. Daisy, where are you going now? And, who is this one you’re talking to now?” Momma stepped out onto the porch yapping away as she pointed her long finger at us. “You sure know how to pick ‘em, don’t you Daisy girl?”

Before I could get my rebuttal out to explain once more to her that I wasn’t a damn child anymore, a midnight colored van came screeching down the street. It came out of know where as the block was quiet and I hadn’t seen anyone even parked from where it came. It was dead early in the morning. The sun was shining it’s brightest in the sky and someone was speeding down the street fast as hell like they had lost their damn mind. Some crazed jerk-off decided it would be cute to race this early in the fucking morning.

“Get down,” Montana bellowed as he tackled me to the ground like I had the ball and was playing for the opposite team in a football game.

Multiple shots rang throughout the neighborhood. It seemed to go on forever even though it was only for a split second. I couldn’t help but wonder what the fuck was it even happening for. Nothing like this had ever happened in this neighborhood before. It wasn’t the primmest or proper neighborhood but it was far from being riddled with hood drive-bys and gunshots. It was unbelievable, like a scene out of an old 90’s movie or some shit. Thankfully my head was saved from hitting the ground by Montana’s arm but my body, though pressed so comfortably against his, wasn’t so lucky.

The van was gone in an instant, sped away like a thief in the night. Breathing heavily, Montana assisted me to my feet as we dusted each other off and checked to see if either of us was shot. He had saved me and I was grateful, feeling as though I would forever be indebted to him for it. He smiled at me as I dusted the last bit of dirt from my jeans. That’s when I noticed his big brown sultry eyes.

“Daisy. Daisy, girl,” Momma coughed reaching out her hand to me when my attention bolted her way.

“Momma,” the blood-curdling scream exited my throat. “Momma, are you okay?”

Running up to the porch and seeing all the blood, I knew she wasn’t. My heart felt like it would jump out of my chest and commit suicide on the pavement. I could barely breathe. The expression on her face resonated horror as she screamed out loud from the pain, holding her stomach putting pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding. It took one second for me to realize the shit was happening to me all over again. I had already lost one parent and now I was about to lose the only other person in the world who really truly loved me.

“Momma, hang in there please,” I screamed turning to Montana who was already on the phone. “Call the fucking ambulance.”

“This is not what I wanted for you sweetie pie,” she smiled, her words sketchy. “Be good and open your eyes baby girl. I love you so much.”

“I know momma. I know. I love you too.” I rubbed her forehead placing my hand on her wound to help stop the bleeding. “Save your strength. Where the fuck is the ambulance?”

“I’m on the phone with them right now. They say they’re on their way.” Montana pumped his hand indicating for me to calm down.

There was no way I could calm down when momma was lying in front of me bleeding to death in a pool of her own blood. Her clothes were soaked in blood and she winced in excruciating pain. Placing my head next to hers, I began singing her favorite Frankie Beverly and Maze song We Are One to try and calm her down.

  Can't understand

Why we treat each other in this way

  Taking up time

With the silly silly games we play

  We've got our love

And no matter how it's said or done

We are one no matter what we do

We are one love will see us through

We are one and that's the way it is…

A faint smile crept across her face as her eyes glossed over staring back at me. My lips curled into a smile hoping to assure her that everything would be all right. And, then her eyes slowly blinked drifting her off into a deep calm sleep. Her head tilted to the right nestling towards mine. Her skin was still warm but her body lay motionless and her shivering ceased.

My eyes bucked nearly out of my head
staring down at her hoping she would awake once more and tell me that everything would be okay. I needed for her to look me in the eye and tell me not to worry because she would be just fine. I needed that reassurance. But as my heart slowly broke inside of me, something told me she would never be able to say those sweet words to me again.

“Momma,” I called out as tears filled my eyes raining down on her still face. “Momma!”

  Chapter 2

  Somewhere Across Town

  Embry

This bitch wouldn’t even answer her phone for her oldest friend. I had a right mind to head on over there and bust her fucking dome open until the white meat showed. She had no right not to answer my phone call when she was the one who stole that fine ass nigga, Q, right out from under me. I was this close to getting my pussy wet if nothing else but she had to swoop in and snatch him even after she said she didn’t want the nigga at all.

Fucking around with her, I had to settle for this whack ass nigga lying next to me snoring his fat ass off. His beer belly bounced up and down like disturbed Jell-O every time he breathed. I couldn’t stand it. But fucking him was necessary in order to get what I wanted. If Daisy were any kind of friend, she would have answered the phone to find out that I was now homeless, broke, and destitute. My dad had finally called it quits with me and taken everything he had given me back. It was so unfair to treat his only fucking child like a peasant on the street simply because I didn’t want to work. I mean was it so bad that I wanted a sponsor instead?

It was my fault that I hadn’t found one in time before he got sick of my bullshit but I thought at least my momma would have bought me some time. She didn’t give a shit about my dad’s decision making. All she gave a fuck about was getting up under the next piece of dick. It was probably why I was such a damn hoe. But the only difference was I was getting paid for my shit. She was just fucking because my dad’s dick barely worked for her withered up ass pussy anymore. Naw, he liked them as young as me now.
