  Dear Readers,

  Happy Holidays!

I hope you enjoy Sayer and Kizzy’s story. When I first wrote these characters in A Wolf’s Deception, I knew they would burn hot and fast, but little did I know what would happen as the story filled the pages.

There are some spoilers in this story for upcoming books. I promise you’re going to enjoy them, and when others get their stories, they will be fully explained. Also, it’s baby time! How we got here, I’m not sure. I didn’t even realize babies were ready until I looked back at previous books, and was shocked. LOL! Of course it’s just a glimpse of the babies. They will be featured more in coming stories.

As always, I love hearing from you!

When Drew and Gee show up ten days before the Solstice and announce he must bring home his mate or face the wrath of his alpha, he does what he has to. Doesn't mean he likes. it. What's worse, Gee announces there's to be a scavenger hunt and he's to participate with Kizzy.

Kizzy Rhapsody, isn't sure what's going on. One minute she's living in Custer and the next she's in a town she had no idea existed. What she does know, is her friend has been keeping secrets and the man who brought her there isn't talking either. Though she enjoys being in Los Lobos, she can't stand the lies, or falling for a man who isn't willing to trust her. But, with the Winter Solstice festivities approaching, she agrees to give both a chance.

Fresh, local honey is their item.

With no bee hives on pack lands, Sayer and Kizzy must work together to find their object. When a chance phone call, takes them out of town for their item, Sayer realizes his quirky little human is more than meets the eye. With the solstice upon them, he finds himself willing to move heaven and earth to make these festivities the best time of her life.

And if he ends up mated to her? Well, there are worse things that could happen.

  Chapter One

“Fuck, I shouldn’t want you this much.” Sayer Blackcrow fisted Kizzy Rhapsody’s hair and slanted his mouth over hers. He cursed the yearning in his voice and the throbbing dick in his pants.

For the past three months, every time Elle visited her best friend in Hill City or Custer, he trailed them. Or, as the matrons had asked, protected them. In the beginning, he’d hated it. He couldn’t stand being around humans. He didn’t trust them. Didn’t see the point of it. They did more to hurt the world than they were worth, and humans, though some of the pack had mated them, brought nothing but death to their front doors.

Yet, the second he caught the hint of sugarplums clinging to her…tasted the scent on his tongue—so potent he thought pure cane sugar had been poured over his taste buds—he’d been hooked. He craved being around her more. Inhale more of her sweetness.

  Mate.

No. No way in hell he’d mate a human. He considered her an infatuation. If he fucked her enough times, he’d sate the need to be around her. Her scent wouldn’t grab him by the balls anymore—like it did at t
he moment.

He curled his lip and slammed their bodies against the wall of her small cabin, rattling the knickknacks hanging there. His free hand slid up her thigh, pushing her long-ass fugly night shirt out of his way. He hated the thin piece of material. The way it clung to her curvy body, showing off her puckered nipples when the blast of cold night air hit them as she’d opened the door to greet him, moments before. Hated the way it made his mouth water with anticipation.

“Shut up.” She pulled the zipper of his jeans down then went to work on his belt. “You’re always trying to ruin this. Shit. Move, dude.”

Pushing his thigh between hers, he growled in her ear. “You’re nothing but trouble.” He sucked her earlobe into his mouth and nipped at the sensitive flesh.

“I resemble those remarks.” She bit the juncture of his neck and shoulder then ran her tongue up the column of his throat.

“More screwing, less talking,” Sayer snarled.

“Such a romantic.” She pushed his shirt off his body as she urged him backward toward her bed.

“Never. It’s a bullshit concept.” He wrapped his arms around her before switching their positions, covering her body with his as they fell onto her mattress. “This though. This right here….” He nipped at her ample hip. “This is what real men want.” Or wolves, in his case.

She writhed below him, digging her nails into his shoulders. “You talk too much. We don’t have a lot of time.”

They never did. He made sure of it.

He took off at the end of his shift as pack protector and raced home to grab a quick shower then drove the thirty minutes it took to get from Los Lobos to Custer, which, in a few weeks, would be near about impossible to do. The snow would keep him bound to his pack and away from the one woman he wanted everything and nothing to do with.

“Don’t forget.” She handed him a condom.

“Wouldn’t have.” He continued to kiss a path up her body. “Shh.”

Drawing her soft-pink nipple into his mouth, he sucked on it while flicking the tip of his tongue over the hard point. Her sigh and wiggle of her hips set his blood boiling. Shit, even if he didn’t want anything to do with her, he still enjoyed the sex. For being a quirky little thing who annoyed him most days and mildly amused him others, she got into “bumping uglies”—as she called it.

  “Hurry,” she whimpered.

Hell no. He wanted her so sated she fell right off to sleep by the time he got done with her. “My pace. Not yours.” He kissed the space between her breasts then drew the other taut bead into his mouth and showered it with the same attention.

  “Bastard.”

He smiled against her flesh. “Yes I am.”

He ripped away her panties, and the wet heat of her pussy seared his cock. Sayer ran his finger along her slit then shoved his middle finger into her tight channel. He groaned. Always ready. Always so hot. He fucked her in long, torturous strokes while rubbing her clit. When her knees shook and she began to whine, he pulled back. Picking up the foil square, he tore it open and sheathed his length within the rubber barrier.

  He despised it.

He craved to know the feel of her pussy gripping him while she climaxed around him bareback. Wanted to feel her sweet cream drenching his cock.

“You know what to do.” He adjusted his position and waited for her to reach between her legs and take him inside her. “Tick-tock. Time’s wasting.” He pushed his jeans off, leaving them in a crumpled heap by the bed.

She fisted him. Her slim fingers wrapped around the base of his dick and stroked. He sucked in a breath between clenched teeth. The heady sensation left him dizzy with lust. She bumped the tip of his erection against her clit then teased her folds before sliding him to her entrance. Placing his hands on her shoulders, he smirked. The second he thrust, he ground his hips against hers. The mix of pleasure and pain whipping through him only served to excite him more.

  “Oh God.” She shuddered.

He gave her a scant few seconds to accommodate his intrusion then retreated and filled her again. He didn’t make love to any woman. He rutted. He fucked. He performed a function. Scratched the proverbial itch. But, with Kizzy, he found himself curious about what it would be like to make love to his mate. To slow it down. To caress her body in encouragement while whispering sweet words of his devotion to her as she came apart in his arms. Shit. Don’t become a little bitch right now. You’re fucking her. Be happy.

  He wasn’t.

  He didn’t want this.

Didn’t need this complication in his life.

  Mate.

He blocked out the wolf and returned to the task at hand—getting Kizzy off enough times she passed out. He changed the angle of penetration, and she pulsed around him. The long low groan falling from her lips signaled her impending orgasm. Sayer fit his hand between them and manipulated her clit. She clung to him. Her thighs tightened around his hips. “Do it. Give it to me.”

She let go with a cry, shaking and bucking in his arms as her release rolled through her. Then her body went lax. He knew she could take more. He smacked her hip before flipping her over, placing her on her hands and knees.

He bit the inside of his cheek to squelch the groan threatening to spill forth. All ass. All pussy. All his. Easy now. Don’t be falling into the trap of feelings. For tonight, her ass and pussy were his. He shoved into her and rode her hard. Kizzy came apart in his arms again and fell forward, giving him better access to her body.

“One day, you’ll give me this, too.” He rimmed her puckered entrance with the tip of his thumb while shifting his hips, filling her balls-deep. “You’ll love it.”

“You’re a pervert.” She gasped as his downstroke rubbed her sweet spot. “Always talking dirty…like you want to scare me.”

He meant to. However, he seemed to do quite the opposite. She wanted him there, with her. Never turned him away. “No talking.”

The grip he had on her hip tightened as fire raced down his spine. It was inevitable. She had this way of milking him…. No matter how much he wanted to stave off his orgasm until he wrung every one of them out of her, he fought a losing battle. His palm cracked across her ass cheek.

  “Ah.”

“Uh-huh.” He lay over her back, while wrapping his hand around her throat. “One day, my cum will fill your pussy. You’ll walk around with my scent and my seed in your body.” When he unleashed the wolf, his thrusts became even more erratic, until he slammed into her twice more and came with a roar. The powerful urge to mark her burst within his chest, knocking him off-balance. He pushed the wolf back, clamping his mouth shut while he rode through the initial wave of his release. “Shit.” He chuckled, placing his palm to her bed to steady himself. Once he’d gathered some shred of control, he kissed her shoulder blades while his dick continued to throb.

  “Mmm.” She sighed.

“Don’t move.” He pulled from her, still hard as a rock and ready to go again, then retreated to her bathroom. Once the condom was disposed of, he grabbed a washcloth to clean her up. He’d done it every time they had sex. He’d convinced himself it was to erase his claim from her. Wanted to make sure no wolf would know he had sex with her, so they couldn’t rat him out. However, his wolf did it to connect with her. To care for his mate.

Dammit! Don’t go there. Stick to the routine. The plan was simple. Fuck her brains out then wait till she fell asleep to hightail it out of there before she woke to notice him gone.

  “Stay tonight,” she mumbled.

“I have to be up early for work.” Not technically a lie. He did have to meet Luc on the eastern edge of the pack lands to patrol the borders.

“All the more reason to stay.” She grinned. “Plus, I’ll get more of your monster cock.”

“I’ll hold you.” Bad idea. Nevertheless, he realized she wouldn’t stop with the questions until he came up with a compromise.

“Fine.” She snuggled into his side and closed her eye
s.

Sayer turned out the light then wrapped an arm around her. “Sleep well.”

An hour later, he eased out of bed and dressed. He had to get back to the pack, in case someone needed him. As it stood, two families, in less than three weeks’ time, had welcomed their pups. Fawn Truesdale, Kalum Truesdale’s mate, had a daughter, Annmarie, a couple of days after Thanksgiving, and Gabby Hawthorn, Kru Hawthorn’s mate, had given birth to her twin boys, Carver and Jefferson two days ago. All were doing well, but it meant more pack members to protect from noisy humans. Plus, Gabby was also caring for her family. Through the midst of all the happiness, her “second mom” had passed away in a tragic accident. The man she relied on as a father-figure, beyond inconsolable, had actually become a recluse.

He understood the need to be alone. To shut the whole world out, pack or no pack.

Dressed and out the door, he allowed a bit of regret to fill him. She deserved better than his half-assed attempt at whatever the hell he should call it. Hopping into his four-wheel drive truck, he threw it into neutral and coasted out of her driveway then down her road a piece, before starting it. The beast roared to life, just like his wolf whenever he was around his…mate.

On the drive to Los Lobos, he thought of all the ways he could break off their hookups. Though he’d promised the matrons he’d follow the girls to protect them, it became increasingly harder to distinguish between duty and needing to be there. As a protector, he understood his desires warring with his duty wasn’t a good combination. If they ever got hurt because he paid more attention to Kizzy’s ass than what happened around them, first Graham would kill him then Drew.

In the morning, he’d tell his alpha someone else needed to be assigned to watch over them. Shouldn’t be hard to fill the position. Elle and Kizzy got together once a week or so. Not a bad gig in the grand scheme of things. Yet, the idea of someone taking his place had his wolf snapping and snarling at him.
