My heart immediately melted. It was the first time since the wedding that I hadn’t seen her for so long, and damn it, I missed her like hell.
“For you I can be sweet and nice, and-”
“Okay, okay, we got the point,” Emily said, rolling her eyes.
“Welcome home,” I said, cupping Kassie’s face in my palms.
She placed a soft kiss on my lips and I immediately wanted to run away with her.
“I hope you and Adrian behaved,” she said, playing with the upper button of my shirt.
“I did, he didn’t.”
“Sometimes tables turn so freaking unfairly, right Bro?” Emily smirked.
I grimaced in response. “Very funny. By the way, I’m surprised you are here and not jumping into your beloved Nick’s embrace.”
“He’s visiting his parents, but we will have plenty of time to jump on each other later tonight.”
Kassie giggled, winking at her best friend. “Don’t kill him, Ems. We all know how hard it was to make your brother accept him. I doubt he will be able to handle another of his precious sister’s potential fiancé’s.”
“You two are going to be the death of me,” I said, sighing.
“Admit it Daniel, your life would be so damn boring without us,” Emily said, taking me by the hand.
“True.” I looked at the two of them, then smiled at my wife holding our son and realized that my life would never be boring or pointless again, because now it had everything that I ever wished for and even more...
