So most days before work, Roman dropped Devon off at their house, and they spent the day eating Ben & Jerry’s and whatever meals Ronin left them in the fridge. Sometimes they ordered pizzas from the place in town. It was shifter owned, so they never had to worry about hiding Devon’s belly. Ronin had been working with Roman, while at the same time looking into the doctor helping Anton and whatever else could be found on any other omegas in trouble.

He’d also hung out with Jax, Shawn, and Marco, although Jax had been acting a little weird recently. He’d been watching the pups at first, but now they could barely get him out of the house. It had started ever since Jax found out he was pregnant.

Marco and Shawn had gotten jobs. Marco at the bakery in town, Shawn at the bar, so they were not around as much, although they seemed to be settling in very well.

Apparently, Maddox, Zander, Nix, Ronin, Finn, and Dax had started digging into everyone that could have helped Anton and also if there were any other setups like he’d been in.

“So what do you want to do today, babe?” Ronin pulled him so he was sitting between his legs.

Ollie took another bite of his sandwich—it was tuna, pickles, mayo, and boiled eggs all mashed together—before he shrugged. “Anything that involves the couch,” he supplied.

Even though he hadn’t gotten morning sickness like Devon had, he was hungry and tired all the time. Still, his weight wasn’t quite where Ryder wanted it to be.

“How're you feeling, babe?” Ronin nuzzled his neck, his arms cradling his small bump.

“Good.” Ollie snuggled into Ronin’s chest. “Although I’m better now that you’re here.”

“Nowhere else I’d rather be.” Ronin nuzzled his mating mark, as had become his thing, and he couldn’t help the shiver that went through his body or the way his cock stiffened.

“Mmm,” Oliver murmured, and he shifted. He could feel Ronin’s cock poking him in his back.

“What you watching?” Ronin murmured in his ear before taking the lobe between his teeth.

“Fuck,” Oliver cursed. Ronin had slipped into his sweats, his hand wrapping around Ollie’s hard cock.

“Is the show any good,” his mate asked, while teasing the tip.

“What… huh?” Ollie lifted his hips trying to get more friction on his cock.

“No,” Ronin said, and nipped his neck.

  Ollie moaned and whined, “Please.”

“Don’t worry, mate. I’ll give you exactly what you need.” Ro nibbled his mate’s neck.

Ollie used both hands to pull his sweats down just enough to release his cock.

“Are you needy, love,” Ronin whispered.

  “Please,” Ollie whined.

“Okay, my mate,” Ronin said as he reached into the coffee table drawer pulled out a small bottle of lube. “I won’t make you wait any longer.”

Ollie chuckled, and Ro looked down at him. “What? It pays to be prepared.”

As he finished speaking, he caressed Ollie’s cock, which turned his laugh into a low moan. When Ro released his mate’s cock to pop the top on the bottle, Oliver looked up at him and let out a whimper.

  “One second, love.”

  “Please…” Ollie begged again.

Ro slicked up his hand, reached back down, and glided his fingers over the vein that ran up Oliver’s cock, from root to tip, while he started to suck on the sensitive spot behind his ear.

It was Ro’s turn to chuckle as Ollie’s back arched and he pushed his hips seeking more friction. The alpha wrapped his hand around the throbbing shaft and slowly began to stroke.

“Oh, my goddess. Ro, please. Faster,” Ollie continued to beg, the sensations making his mind focus only on the pleasure he was experiencing.

Ronin continued to suck and nibble slowly down his mate’s neck as he tightened his grasp and sped up the pace, making sure to swipe his thumb across the leaking crown on every upward pass.

“Fuck. Like that… just like that,” Ollie said, through ragged breaths. “I’m not going to last.”

He could already feel a tingling at the base of his spine that began spreading through his body.

As he kept up the rhythm, Ro slipped his free hand around the other side of his mate, brushed against his nipple, and finally reached down to massage Ollie’s balls, feeling them tighten as he rolled first one, then the other.

Ronin moved his mouth down to the mating bite and began to nibble and suck the spot.

Oliver couldn’t hold back anymore. His vision faded and he rasped out, “I’m going to come,” moments before his cock began pulsing, the first ropes of cum landing on his chest and neck. His alpha wasted no time in leaning over his shoulder and cleaning him up, not leaving a drop on his skin

He let out a sigh as a shiver ran through his body.

“I love you, Ro,” Ollie said in a sated voice.

Ro kissed his temple. “I love you, too, babe.”

Ronin's phone rang and he had to lift Ollie up so that he could get to it. After his orgasm, Ollie was a puddle.

“It’s Ryder.” Ronin’s voice was worried. “You already had your appointment this week.”

“I’m sure everything is fine,” Ollie said, and shifted so he was on his side, his head on Ronin’s thigh.

Ollie sighed as he got the gist of Ro’s conversation. He’d asked Ryder to look into any information he could find out about any shady doctors, and Ryder had said he would get back to him.

The fact that he was calling back now seemed to be a good sign… well, depending on the way you looked at it. There was a part of him that still just wanted to block out that time and look solely on the future.

“I see,” he heard Ronin say. Oliver was anxious to know what Ryder said, but just waited patiently until Ronin disconnected the call. “I’ll look into it from here, then. Thank you for the info. Talk soon.” Ronin’s hand stroked Oliver’s hair as he hung up the call. “I’m going to have to head out and check into this lead.”

Oliver shook his head and sat up. “I can come with you. What’s going on?”

Ronin's eyes on him were stern. “Ryder’s found a doctor that has been known to do some shady-ass stuff. There’s no guarantee that this has anything to do with anything. I’m just going to go check it out, and you’re not going with me. You’re going to stay safe at home.”

Oliver crossed his arms and stared at Ronin. “We were going to spend the day together. If it’s just a doctor, I can come.”

“That would be a solid no, babe. Stay home, watch your show, and I’ll be back before you know it, and we can go back to our day,” Ronin said.

“Why?” he huffed. “You don’t get to make the final decision. Just because you’re the alpha, Ronin. That’s not going to be how it is with us. I have a right to be there.” Ollie narrowed his eyes, glaring at Ronin, but from the stubborn set of his alpha’s chin, it was clear to him that Ronin wasn’t about to back down.

“I’m not trying to pull rank here, but I am trying to look out for you. I just found you, and I’m not about to lose you now. Please just stay at the house, and the minute I know something, I’ll call you. I’m not going to back down, babe. I love you, and I don’t want you or our baby hurt.”

“And you think I want you hurt?” Oliver tried to keep his voice from cracking “No… I don’t. Why can’t you just allow me to go with you? I promise I’ll stay back and I won’t get in your way. I just don’t want you to do this alone. Besides, you’re doing it for me. Let me be a part of it.”

“How about you spend some time with Devon. Or maybe call up Jax? You mentioned being worried about him. Please, babe. I promise I won’t go alone, and I’ll be back as quickly as I can.”

Oliver sighed and slowly nodded, but he looked straight at the TV, refusing to meet Ronin’s eyes. Oliver wasn’t sure why he was making a big deal out of this, but for some reason, he didn’t want to be away from Ronin… it was probably hormones.

Still, he was upset, but then he also knew why
Ronin was sticking to his guns on the matter. He wanted to protect him, and he appreciated that. He really did.

“Please, baby. Don’t be mad at me. I couldn’t imagine losing you.” Ronin was squatting between his legs.

“So you keep saying,” Oliver mumbled, even though his lips curved a little.

“Can I get a kiss, babe.” He finally met his mate’s eyes, and there was a puppy dog look in them.

“No fair doing that,” Ollie said, but he couldn’t help smiling at his mate.

“I promise I’ll be home soon. Call the guys—and River too. I’m sure my brother would love to hang out.” Ronin nuzzled his neck again. “I’ll see you when I get home.”

Ollie couldn’t stay mad at Ronin, so he sighed and leaned down, giving Ronin a kiss. He let his mate dominate his lips, their tongues danced, and he couldn’t help moaning. His cock had already started getting hard again.

  “I love you,” Ollie whispered.

“I love you too. More than you know,” Ronin said, their foreheads joined. “I’ll be back before you know it, baby.” But he didn’t make a move to leave.

Oliver wrapped his arms around his mate's neck and kissed Ro again, holding him tight—he didn’t want to let go.

“I’ll be home soon,” Ronin whispered after breaking their kiss. “I’ll call you when I’m done,” he said.

Oliver nodded and walked with Ro to the front door. They opened the door and Ronin kissed him again before leaving.

Oliver watched him as he went to the car. He didn’t know where Ronin was even headed, and there was a deep pit in his stomach. It was the most scared he’d been since he'd come to Wildwood.

As Ronin backed out of the driveway, Oliver felt a gust of wind and a chill fell over him. He wrapped his arms around his body and shivered. He couldn’t help looking around. Despite scouring the outside, he couldn’t see anyone about, but still, he had a sense that he wasn’t alone. Ollie shut the door behind him and locked it tight. He just hoped that Ronin would hurry back. He was definitely calling up Devon. Maybe he could go over there since Dev had been having a little back pain.

There was a voice in Ollie’s head wishing that Ronin and the rest of the guys would stop looking into everything, but he immediately felt bad for thinking it because there could be omegas in another room like he’d been in, hoping someone would come and save them… But it didn’t stop him from wanting his mate to be back home with him.

  Chapter Nineteen

  Ronin

Ronin didn’t want to alarm Oliver by telling him that he had to drive four hours away to reach this Dr. Katz that Ryder told him about. He looked at his GPS periodically, just to check how much further he had to go. Ro was anxious to get there.

“You don’t even know what you’re walking into,” he muttered to himself out loud.

Ryder said that he’d heard about this doctor—apparently he was the go-to for all kinds of narcotics—and he was widely known to sell scripts for whatever drugs were wanted for the right price.

Ro turned down a road when his GPS directed. If it wasn’t the Dr. he was looking for, then he would continue to search. It was as simple as that.

“Your destination is on your right,” his GPS announced.

Ronin turned into a parking lot. The lot was abandoned, and the building looked nothing like any doctor’s clinic he’d ever been to. There were no signs of activity anywhere on the property, and there were boards over the windows.

“This can’t be right,” he muttered.

Ro grabbed his phone from his pocket and dialed up Ryder’s number.

“Yo, man… what’s up?” Ryder asked, answering the call.

“This can’t be right.” He looked around again. “There’s, like, no one around. The parking lot is empty and there are boards on all the windows as if it’s been closed up for years. Are you sure you gave me the correct address?”

Ronin rattled off the address that he’d put into the GPS.

  “Yeah, that’s it,” Ry said.

“Alright, well hold up while I go take a look around. Stay on the phone, okay.”

“Don’t tell me you went on your own, Ro.” He didn’t have to see his brother to know he was shaking his head.

“It’s just a doctor. Gosh, you and Ollie are being worrywarts. I can take care of myself.” Even as he spoke, he took his t-shirt off and put on his bulletproof vest, then checked his two weapons before holstering them. Ro wasn’t trying to be reckless. He had an omega and a child he planned on going home to.

He got out of the car and grabbed a coat to hide his weapons before walking up to the building. He peeked through the only window that wasn’t boarded up, and it looked pitch black inside.

“What’s going on?” Ryder asked. He switched to his Bluetooth, needing both hands.

“Looks empty inside,” Ronin said, even as he squinted to make sure. “Give me a second.”

He walked around the clinic and saw another building behind it. There was a car in the space separating them, but it was the only one. He peeked in that window but still saw nothing.

  “May I help you?”

Ro spun around when he heard a voice behind him, his hands going to the gun at his back.

A man stood there, arms crossed and an eyebrow arched.

“Um, yeah… I’m looking for a Dr. Katz,” Ronin said.

“You found him,” The man replied.

Ronin looked him up and down and automatically thought this guy didn’t look like a doctor—at least not one he would want treating him. Definitely not one he would trust to prescribe anything for his omega. There was no lab coat or stethoscope in sight. Instead, he wore jeans and a t-shirt that looked a little less than fresh, and he looked as if he hadn’t shaved in the past three days.

“Gotta go,” he said to Ryder, then disconnected the call before his brother could even respond. He moved closer to the man. “Hello, Dr. Katz. The name is… Geno,” he said, picking the first name that came to mind.

“Hello, Geno. You still haven’t answered my question on how I can help you?”

“I’m a pack leader just outside of town, and I got word that you might be the doctor that can help me out”—Ronin held the man’s gaze—“if you catch my meaning.”

He was thinking on the spot and not quite sure why he didn’t just come out with the truth.

“Oh yeah? Why don’t you step into my office.” The doctor motioned towards the smaller building.

Ronin nodded and stepped aside so Dr. Katz could go first into the second building. They passed through a narrow entrance and into what looked to have been a waiting room, but from the peeling paint, chairs scattered across the floor, and filth that covered everything, no one would ever guess that.

“This way,” Dr. Katz said, and led Ro down a hallway on the left side of the building. He opened another door, and Ro followed him into a room with a desk and two chairs. To the side of the desk was a cabinet that had multiple drawers.

Ro quickly scanned the poorly lit room to see there was also an exam table, and in the corner, Ronin noticed what looked almost like a dentist chair, but it had restraints for the arms and legs.

Ronin wondered how many different alphas the doctor had ‘helped’ through the years.

“What may I assist you with today?” Dr. Katz asked, taking a seat behind the table. Ronin followed his lead and lowered himself to the chair opposite him, but never let his guard down.

“Like I said, I have, shall we say, a new pack just outside town, and we have a few omegas there, and it would be best if they didn’t—or rather can’t—get pregnant. I heard you’re the man to talk with to get rid of pesky heats and other things so we have less”—Ronin smiled, even as he felt sick saying the words—“fighting and movement.”

Even as he spoke, Ronin tasted bile at the words coming out of his mouth.

The Doc’s eyes on him narrowed. “And may I ask who told you that?”

  “I believe we have a mutual friend… A
nton,” Ronin supplied, lying his ass off.

Dr. Katz’s shoulders came down from around his ears, and he nodded, a smile curving his lips. Ronin realized he’d found the man he was looking for.

“Oh yes… I can definitely help you out,” Dr Katz said. “I know Anton well. Haven’t seen him in a while, though.” The doctor’s brow creased, considering. “I would think that he’d be running low on pills and injections by now.”

Ronin didn’t bother answering, simply let the man talk.

Dr. Katz shrugged and stood up. Immediately, Ro was on alert as the man walked around the desk. Ronin followed him with his eyes, watching his every move as Dr. Katz walked to the cabinet and withdrew a bag from one of the drawers he’d unlocked. He walked it back over to Ronin and set it in front of him.

“You will make sure to give the loading dose, three a day, for the first week. After that, they get one a day. You don’t want to skip doses, or it can stop the process. Do you understand?” Dr. Katz asked.

Ronin took the bag from the man and opened it, taking a peek inside. He then looked up at Dr. Katz. “I understand perfectly.” Ronin nodded thoughtfully. “There’s something I don’t understand, though.”

“Okay, what’s that?” Dr. Katz asked with a quizzical expression.

Ronin looked up at him. “What kind of doctor gives out prescriptions without a consultation first.”

  Dr. Katz frowned. “Excuse me?”

Ronin glared at him. “I’m not here to buy these drugs, you asshole. I’m here to ruin you. What kind of doctor who is sworn an oath to do no harm gives out drugs to omegas so that alphas can treat them like nothing more than holes to be fucked.”

Dr. Katz's eyes widened with each word, and he hopped out of his seat.

  “Who the fuck are you?”

“Who I am is of no concern to you. All you need to know is this is the end.”

Dr. Katz laughed. “I don’t know who you are, but you don’t come onto my property and threaten me. This state has a stand-your-ground law, and you’re trespassing.” The doc pulled a gun on him, but Ronin was a quicker shot. He grabbed his pistol from his holster and shot Dr. Katz.
