  ‘Okay. Coming.’

  Karl quickly hit eject, and removed the warm disc. Reaching for a black felt pen, he scribbled on the disc: ‘one-upmanship’, before slipping the disc inside a protective sleeve.

  He smiled, and then made his way back upstairs.
