“You enjoy me in your ass, Maeja?” He tickled the words into her right ear. She shivered.

Maeja. Not my queen…or my lady. Heat shot through all of her sensitive nerve endings the moment Valdason resumed his thrusts. Two cocks in her openings. This was only the beginning. In unison they all had to shift. She had to allow them to take her like dragons and if they could not find the perfect harmonic match in their lovemaking it would not work at all. Maeja then had to move beyond that and absorb a part of their dragon spirit to redirect it at the diamond.

Through the harsh panting, Maeja knew the diamond harmonics had picked up and she took that as a good sign.

Valdason moved his hand to where she joined with his slick cock. He opened her red, swollen pussy lips more, stretching her so that he could play with her stone-hard nub. The minute he found her jewel he flicked it with his finger over and over again. Between Geirsson’s ministrations to her nipples and his cock slowly sliding back and forth out of her ass, and Valdason’s shaft in her cunt while his talented fingers played with her clit it wasn’t long before she felt the beginnings of the shift.

She fought to tell them, but it was too late. The flame burst through her. Blindingly hot, her body morphed from woman to Fire Dragon and with her came one Frost and one Air Dragon. There were no Anglo words to describe the feeling of being taken by two dominant male dragons. Caught up with instinct, they were roaring their pleasure. Claws grasped her hips. Maeja’s large head turned. The minute her jaws clamped down hard on Valdason, Geirsson followed suit with her. They were all linked. Blue and green dragon blood dripped down all their mouths as they continued, allowing the thrall to take them over.

When the third climax approached she was ready. She was shifting again, more slowly this time, allowing her the time to grasp each of their dragon spirits. She became solid heat, a swirl of red-orange flame, fueled with air.

Maeja knew she didn’t have much time. She moved closer to the blue diamond, and sensed the moment Geirsson knew her true intention. His spirit attempted to stop her but with iron will that surpassed his own, she held his tight to hers, cradling his essence with the passion she felt for him. The minute Maeja sensed the bend in the diamond’s harmonics, she timed her launch. It was perfect. Pure blinding energy was instantly absorbed by the diamond’s harmonics and the core of the jewel was electrified, renewed with life. The spinning diamond picked up its rotation, and the pulses feeding the cavern intensified. Maeja felt the burst of life energy in her dragon spirit as Castra’s rotation renewed itself. Then she shattered. Too exhausted to hold the other dragon spirits to her, she made sure with her last gasp of breath they made it back to their own bodies. Only then did she succumb to the dark feeling of blackness.

  * * * * *

Soft silk. Her hand caressed the manufactured fabric with tenderness. Her eyelids fluttered open. A breath, ice-hot, filled her lungs. That was not normal. She was alive, but she had changed.

“You’re finally awake. Don’t you dare do anything like that to me again!” growled Geirsson. The minute his large frame sat next to her, the bed sagged.

“What happened?” Maeja attempted to get up, but this time it was Valdason who stopped her. “Where am I?”

“I would not get up yet. Take your time. And you are in your private chambers. The bomb did not destroy the entire palace as was originally thought.”

A warning note was clearly evident in his voice and that caught at her. I am alive, but at what price? She knew Castra was okay. She felt the gentle harmonic pulse of the planet’s core and it warmed her deeply. I did it. No, she amended. We did it. Together.

“Please tell me what happened,” she asked again. A kernel of fear grew within her body. Something strange had happened and her gut told her she was not going to like it.

“You have been asleep for two full days and we were beginning to think you would never wake up. Let us show her,” said Valdason to Geirsson.

“Only if you promise not to scream. No screaming, Maeja,” repeated Geirsson, backing off her bed to stand next to Valdason.

“Promise.” She propped her neck up onto a soft, inviting pillow. Maeja blinked, realizing her dragon eyes were in use even though sunlight filled her chambers. While thinking that was slightly weird, the moment both men grasped their tunics and tossed them over their heads, she sucked in her breath.

They were dragons. Human heads with a dragon-humanoid body, and beautiful glittering scales covered their chest and arms. She gasped when they turned around. Both also had dragon tails.

True fear clawed at her. “How?”

Geirsson marched over to her and she realized he was now stunningly beautiful—the perfect combination of dragon and human and it caused her skin to tingle with want.

“The only way to save you was to merge our essence and in the process we all became this.” He gave a dramatic sweep to indicate his new form.

We? Startled, Maeja yanked off the silk sheet. She did not gasp. Instead her hand caressed her new form of silky scales. They were not hard as she had thought they would be.

“The scales change. We tried to shift and were unable to, but when Valdason got annoyed I could not see the rest of his body. He became invisible. Only his head was exposed. The rest, where his scales are, became air molecules. My scales can also change so that I can camouflage most of myself.”

“Wings? Do we have dragon wings?” asked Maeja.

“Yes. That is the one thing that, when we will it, forms to life on our bodies and it feels wonderful.”

Maeja wanted to fling herself into Geirsson’s arms and cry with joy. She knew he loved to fly and she had taken that away from him before and more than anything she wanted to gift that ability back to him. To them all. To her draconic people. Then it dawned on Maeja that her people must be wondering about Geirsson’s new form.

“What have the people said?” she asked, choking on the fear she felt.

Valdason laughed. “When we told them how you helped save Castra and almost died and how we had to blend our dragon souls together they were first astonished. I would say on the most part they like our new look.”

“Maeja, I should warn you that you have quite a devoted following now. Besides queen, some are viewing you as a martyr,” added Geirsson.

“Martyr? How ridiculous is that?” said Maeja.

“No more ridiculous than attempting to do everything on your own and risk your own precious life without consulting us,” said Geirsson. There was bite in his voice, warming Maeja’s inner turmoil.

Tears streamed fiery hot down her cheeks. Maeja could not remember the last time she had shed a dragon tear but she could not stop the tide. With no words, Geirsson scooped her up in his arms. Valdason stroked her back. They were trying to soothe her when she had been the one to cause this.

“I kind of enjoy my new form,” said Valdason.

“While I am still getting used to it, I must say having a dragon tail in battle will come in handy,” said Geirsson, kissing away her hot tears.

Maeja hiccupped on a soft sob.

“We did save Castra and that was our job,” said Geirsson, his amber eyes looking straight at her.

“Yes. Of course you are right. We all made sacrifices, but I was hoping you two would not have to.”

“Why would you do that?” asked Geirsson.

Maeja tilted her head up to look at him. “Because that is my job. I am Castra’s queen and I did it because I love you.”

Geirsson’s mouth claimed hers. She allowed him to plunder hers, tasting her own warm, salty tears on his tongue.

Valdason’s hand rested on her neck. “Maeja, we are all three linked. That is the process of the thrall.”

“Yes, of course. I want you too, Valdason. I just need more time to get to know you before I can confidently say the words.”

Valdason gave a hearty laugh. “Not to worry, my queen. I am sure we will be getting to know one another quite intimately. But I must inform you that I,
like Geirsson, have developed a deep fondness for you. The minute you told me the truth I knew that what my Ancient Elemental Scribes had foretold was correct. You are mine.”

  Geirsson growled. “And mine.”

Tucked in the comfort of four warm Dragonbane warrior arms, Maeja, Queen of Castra, let her dragon-heart beat with joy. Castra was saved. She had done it with their help, their love and their dragon spirits. If this was the new way—the new beginning for Castra—than she would take it.

Smiling, Maeja took the time to look Geirsson and Valdason in the eyes. “You two are mine always. You have seen me at my worst, seen my true dragon’s lust and for that I will love you both for all of time.”

“Speaking of dragon lust,” said Geirsson.

Maeja felt Valdason slide his body next to hers on the bed. Geirsson followed suit. Squeezed between two powerful warriors, Maeja felt every bit the confident dragon queen she was. She sighed the minute Geirsson plunged a thick finger inside her wet folds and purred when Valdason’s mouth reached over to claim a peaked nipple. One of the perks of the change was that her new petal-soft scales, she quickly discovered, were a lot more sensitive than human skin.

In the process something alive stirred within her womb.

  Life.

“Oh, I forgot to tell you, Maeja, you are not barren after all,” said Geirsson, as his finger pumped her pussy.

The wicked, proud dragon grin on Geirsson’s face said more than words. The love she felt for her captain-at-arms poured through all of them. Moving her hands to touch each Dragonbane warrior, she said, “Thank you. The life stirring within me is a gift I never expected.”

“That is good because there is more than one,” said Valdason, a crafty smile highlighting the blues of his eyes.

“Oh,” said Maeja and Geirsson in unison.

“What did you expect? I am an Air Dragon and no way was I leaving that egg alone. That little draka girl is mine.”

  “Ours,” echoed Geirsson.

Maeja reached out and linked her arms tight around both warriors. “They are both ours to love, nourish and teach. Castra is safe. I will lead my people into the new age for us. I will deal with the humans and more importantly teach them dragons are real and not dangerous creatures as portrayed in their folklore. Earth will learn we are not a threat to them. But the time for Castra’s dragons is now.”

“How do you propose to start your talk with them?” asked Geirsson. Maeja noted how tense he had become.

Maeja smiled. “Easy. I will simply disrobe.”

They all laughed. The sound was rich, unfettered and filled with freedom.

  “Speaking of disrobing,” said Valdason.

“Yes, that is a great idea. Let us practice how exactly you should do that,” said Geirsson, teasing her with his sexy look.

Maeja leaned back into the bed. Her dragon-heart beat with passion as she looked from one amber-eyed dragon to one blue-eyed dragon, knowing these two Dragonbane warriors had given her the best gift any queen could ask for. Life. My dynasty will continue. Castra will thrive.

That is if she could survive the amount of pleasure gleaming from two wicked warriors. Maeja reminded herself that she was their queen and vowed to give them both the ice-hot rides of their lives.
