“What in the world?”
“You don’t like it?”
“What did you do to yourself?”
Looking down at his gorgeous chest I see that with a marker of some kind he has drawn on a Superman shield only it has an SB instead of a single S. He’s also drawn on a little bow tie at his neck and when he brings his hands up to fake adjust his tie I see that he has also drawn on fake little cuffs at his wrists. My mouth falls upon in disbelief. He cannot be serious!
With his smile beaming it’s clear he’s proud of himself. “Happy Anniversary, Sweet Thing. I didn’t know if you were going to be in the mood for a superhero or your Sexy Beast so I thought I would give you options. You like the Chippendale look better than the superhero look, don’t you? I can tell the bow tie and cuffs are working for ya.”
“You are suck a dork, Mickey Jacobs.”
Pulling me closer he replies. “I know and I do kinda feel bad. You were doing so well at the ‘meeting a stranger in a bar’ role-playing. I was looking forward to seeing where that was going, but I guess I ruined it. Sorry, baby.” He unzips my dress and lets it fall to the floor. Now, I’m just standing in my black heels and red lace bra—since my matching panties are currently in his suit jacket pocket. “Do you forgive me?” He says with lust filled eyes.
“It was going rather well and I was having fun, but this is pretty fun too.” I trace the SB on his chest and can’t help but think of what a lucky woman I am. Ten years of marriage and my husband is still up for trying new things and still making sure that he always makes me laugh. When I suggested that we take our long-time game of making up stories about the strangers we watch when we’re out, and making up one of those little stories for ourselves, I thought he might laugh but he was all for it. But I should have known better. Mickey Jacobs is never afraid of trying something new. Even after two kids and a decade of marriage he never lets me down. He really is my superhero and my Sexy Beast all wrapped up into one amazing man.
“Oh baby, the fun is far from over. It’s just beginning.”

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
I really cannot believe that I am writing the acknowledgements to my second novel. When my writing journey began, I had no idea what would lie ahead. I never would have imagined that I would become an indie author or that readers would actually want to read my words. The fact that I have readers leaves me dumbfounded and humbled. I knew that Emily and Jonathan and the rest of the You & Me crew were special to me, but I didn’t know if anybody else would fall as hard as I had. Parents always think their babies are beautiful and well, You & Me was my baby.
Speaking of babies…the one I am the proudest of is my son. He is turning into such a kind and good young man, and I can’t help but beam with pride when I look at his handsome face. Love you, buddy.
My son wouldn’t be the young man he is if he didn’t have my husband for a father. Baby, you are such a genuine soul and I thank you for your years of love and support. You are my best friend and I couldn’t do any of this without encouragement and steadfastness. Please don’t ever forget that I will always love you so much MORE.
To my editor, Laura Allison, thank you for being so much more than my editor. You are my friend and one of the best humans I know. You are strong, smart, kind, loyal and funny as hell. Girl, you are fierce! #BitchesBeCruel
To Nadia at Kiss & Tell Design Lab, thank you for EVERYTHING. I may be able to write a book, but when it comes to picking the font or color for something, I can’t make a decision to save my life. I know I make you crazy and I thank you for not kicking me to the curb just yet! Thank you for your patience, friendship and making everything pretty!
To the endless list of friends and family members who have been nothing but encouraging, I thank you. There are too many of you to list but know that your support is amazing and the love you have all shown has blown me away. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
To the READERS. I am beyond humble. The fact that I have readers at all is enough to leave me dumbfounded! Just knowing that any of you have taken the time to read my words leaves me truly mystified. I appreciate each and every one of you who took the time to not only read You & Me, but to also review it. Thank you. My heart swells with joy each and every time a reader reaches out to me and shares how much they love Emily and Jonathan. For a brand-new indie author, every review and every kind word means the world to me! Missy M, you are amazing. You have been such a big supporter and have helped to spread the word about You & Me more than any other. You have gone above and beyond and you always bring a smile to my face. Thank you for everything. Readers rock!
To the bloggers that have helped spread the word and have shared their reviews, thank you. I can’t imagine where I would be as a self-published author without you all. There is no way that I can list all of you that participated in promoting You & Me in some way, but I sure want to try. I must start with Lisa B. at Southern Vixens Book Obsessions. Lisa, you are the best and I thank you so very much for everything. Thank you to Paige at A Is For Alpha B Is For Books, Shannon and Linda at Once Upon An Alpha, Abby with Not Your Mama’s Romance, Sassy Southern Book Blog, Witchey Richey’s Bookstastic Reviews, Little Shop of Readers, Twin Spin Book Blog, Fallen for Books, Rochelle’s Reviews, 1 Girl Lost In Romance Books, Just One More Page Reviews, Book Boyfriend Blog, Read Review Repeat, Book Bellas, Nerdy Dirty & Flirty, Sassy and Delicious: Books, Authors, Boys, Girlfriends and Our Book Obsessions, Hellmouth’s Book Blog & Reviews, Book Babes Unite, This Mom Loves Alpha, Valley of the Book Doll, Reviews By Red and many, many, more. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you to our men and women in uniform and all that you do for our country and our communities. I thank you for doing a thankless job that many will never understand.
