Jazzy’s Bitch
A Thriller Series By:Krystol
Everything That Glitters Isn’t Gold
“Jazzy, please leave me alone. I’m tired of being in this business. I want out!” I was screaming at the top of my lungs. My eyebrow rose in fear as I thought that he was going to hit me again for speaking my mind.
“Didn’t I tell you that you are to be seen and not heard?” he shouted back at me. This time, he was in my face. The smell of his breath almost had me huddled over because it was indeed tart. I thought to myself, how did I get here? I graduated college at the top of my class, and yet, I’m selling my body and giving the money to another man. Not a good look! Who would have thought that I’d be where I am today, with me being as intelligent as I am? My pimp’s name was Jazon, aka “Jazzy.” He had been a pimp for quite some time, but I didn’t know it when I first met him. He decided to show me his true colors after the fact. I remember the day like it was yesterday.
I was walking on Madison Street in Delaware, where I used to live. I had just graduated college the week before. I noticed a guy standing on the corner looking at me while I was waiting for the bus. Jazzy was fine as all outdoors. He had a 6’2 frame with brown caramel skin and the nicest smile that would light up a room. I was definitely interested just from his looks alone. I had been single for about a year and it was time to get back into the game. Little did I know I should have kept walking that day. My curiosity had got the best of me.
“How you doin’, lil’ mama?”
“Lil’ mama?” He had a southern accent that I couldn’t quite wrap my finger around. I was pleasant and kind because I could tell that he wasn’t from here.
“Hi, how are you?”
“I’m good!”
“Where are you from?” I asked him.
“I’m from Atlanta.”
“I see.”
“What’s your name?”
“My name is Jazon, but my peoples call me Jazzy, shawty.”
“Well, Jazzy, I’m Karmen.”
We both stood there observing each other like we were superstars excited to see one another. I knew I looked sexy. I stood 5’8 with a butterscotch complexion, tiny waist, and big backside someone could sit a wine glass on. My breasts weren’t so small either.
“So, lil’ mama where you headed?”
“The Mall.”
“Want a ride there?” I knew I was supposed to say no, but Jazzy had me hooked. There was no stopping me. The day was young, and I hoped the night would be even better.
“Okay.”
“Cool…my ride is the Silver BMW across the street.”
“Okay.”
I noticed Jazzy checking me out as I was going across the street. What was weird to me was that he was still standing on the corner until a young boy came gave him some money. Then he came to the car. I thought to myself, Wow, he’s a trap boy.
When he got into the car, I was ready to decline the ride because I didn’t hang with drug dealers. Before I could say anything, he began to speak.
“No, lil’ mama. I don’t sell drugs but I do have people working for me.”
“You think that makes it any better?”
“No, but I can take care of you.”
He pulled out six wads of money rolled up in rubber bands. My eyes bulged wide open. His confidence and demeanor impressed me, so I had nothing to say.
“Buckle your seat belt, baby. I’m bout to spend all this money on my new girl.”
I couldn’t do anything but smile and buckle up. If I knew then what I know now, I would have been running for the hills.
When we got to Concord Mall, it wasn’t too crowded. We went in H&M and Jazzy bought six outfits for me. I got some nice shirts with skinny jeans and purses to match. I just knew we were meant to be together. I had a great feeling about him.
“Let’s go into Victoria’s Secret.”
“Really, Jazzy?”
“Yeah, I got to hook my shawty up right. You know I’m going marry you one day, right?”
Given the fact that we’d just met, I shot him a crazy look and laughed in his face.
“I’m serious, but I know that things don’t happen overnight.”
“Either you’re crazy or you’re really feeling me.”
“Karmen, I’ll go with the second one.”
He leaned in for a kiss on my smooth lips and my panties started to drip a little. I mean, Jazon was too fine to not see if what he says would manifest. Who knows, he could be my husband. We walked into the store all of the sweet scents and perfumes that filled the air amazed me.
“Karmen put everything that you want in this bag and I got you, boo.” Pear Glace and Love Spell instantly came to mind. I put six bottles of each in the bag and Jazzy smiled at me.
“What?”
“Nothing, boo…go over there and try on some lingerie, too.”
“Are you serious?” I couldn’t help but grin after I said it. I felt like a kid in a candy store, just picking up everything and being able to get it. I looked at the lingerie and tried on a red-laced halter-top nightie with matching thongs.
“Damn, Karmen…you will look good in that?”
“You think so?” I said as I winked at him.
“Go try it on and let’s see.”
I walked up to the sales clerk who had been looking at us since we showed up in the store and asked her for a key.
“Miss, I would like to try this on in the dressing room, please.”
“Uh, sure ma’am, no problem.” Her accent was British and she had black hair with freckles on her face. I went into the dressing room and tried on the lingerie.
“Well, what do you think?”
I was sashaying around in the dressing room like I was Tyra Banks walking on the catwalk during Fashion Week.
“Damn, shawty…you got a sexy body!” Jazzy started licking his lips and rubbing his hands together at the same time.
“I take it that you like?”
“Yea, we are definitely going to cop that.”
“Okay, then.”
After I said that, he leaned in and kissed me. I kissed him back and instantly got moist. I pushed him out of the dressing room so that I could go change.
“Go,” I said, laughing. “I have to get changed so we could go.”
“Okay, okay,” he said playfully. He paid for my things and then we got back in the car and went back in town.
“So, you gon’ be my main girl, right?”
I raised a brow as we were on 202 at the light.
“How about your only girl? If not, then we can just part ways and I can do me.”
“Yeah, okay. I’ll snap if I see my girl with another dude on her arm.”
I smiled and blushed at the same time. I had never gotten in a relationship so quickly before. I mean, usually we were friends first; then dating and then the relationship. I should have questioned the sudden rush, but it felt right, so I went with it.
“Okay, baby. I have to take care of some business, so where do you live?”
“I live on 5 and Monroe.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really…why you say it like that?” I started to quickly get offended, being as though he met me not even a block away from where I live.
“Naw, it ain’t like that, lil’ mama…calm down.” He saw the expression on my face. “It’s just that is where my coworkers be, so now I’ll make sure that they look out for you.”
“Look out for me?”
“Yes. You my girl now, so I gotta keep you safe.” Jazzy realized that he slipped up when he said that because my voice started to rise and I was getting pissed off.
“Look, Jazzy. I don’
t know what you and your drug dealers are into, but I want no parts. So, with that being said…”
Before I could say another word, he had pulled over by on the curb across the street from the liquor store on 4 street.
“Karmen, it’s not like that, baby. It’s just that I want you to be safe now that you my boo. I don’t sell drugs, but I do have people that sell them for me. I just don’t want anything to happen to you.”
“Why would something happing to me?” I started to cry thinking that someone could actually want to hurt me.
“Baby, stop crying. No one is going to hurt you. I will make sure of that. It’s just that people will know you’re my girl and may try and get with you, and I will have to fuck them up.”
We both laughed as Jazzy wiped my tears with his thumb. He started the car back up and kept driving until we got to my house.
“This is you, aye?”
“Yup, this is me.”
“You stay here by yourself?”
“Yes, I do.”
“Okay, cool…go head in the house and I’ll call you later.”
“Yes, sir.” I said while saluting his dominance.
We shared a kissed as I got all of my bags and went in the house. Jazzy waited until I closed the door to pull off. I dropped my bags on my couch and headed upstairs to take a nap. Putting my cell phone on the charger, I turned on my radio and listened to “Lost without You” by Robin Thick as I took my clothes off and drifted into a deep sleep.
When I woke up about two hours later, I checked my cell phone and noticed that I had two missed calls from Jazzy. I walked downstairs to grab a bowl of cereal and I heard a knock on my door.
“Who is it?”
“Meana.”
I opened the door and my best friend entered my house. We both screamed because we hadn’t seen each other since graduation, which was about six months ago.
“Meanaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.”
“Hey, Karmen!”“Girl there is never any parking around here.” Meana said.
“Tell me about it.”
“So, what’s new?” Karmen
“Well, I still haven’t found a job, but I did meet someone!” Giggling like two schoolgirls, we both curled up on my couch like old times. I had forgotten to bring my bags upstairs and put the clothes and other things away.
“Karmen, where did you get all this stuff from?”
“My new boo, Jazon, aka Jazzy, bought it.”
“Jazzy? What kind of name is that? Okay, Karmen, tell me how you met him. Spill your guts.”
“Okay, okay,” I said, laughing uncontrollably. “Earlier today, I was walking down the street and stopped for a second to send a text to my dad. Anyway, I noticed this guy staring at me, and he looked good. “
“Damn, he must have been feeling you to have gotten you all this stuff.”
“Meana, I’m fly as shit…why wouldn’t he like me.” We both started laughing again. “Okay let me finish telling you the story before I forget.”
“Okay, go ‘head, Karmen.” She leaned in, ready for me to finish the conversation.
“So, we were talking and he asked me where I was headed. I told him the mall. He offered to take me as he pulled out all this money.”
“Say word, Karmen?”
“Yes, girl…no bullshit!”
“Wow, you lucked up.”
“Who you telling, Meana?”
“I think that this will be a good thing , Meana.”
Meana and I sat for about two hours and talked about our college days. She told me that she was in love with her boyfriend. I was happy to be chilling with one of my good friends. In the back of my mind, I still wondered why Jazzy called me twice and didn’t leave a message. As I listened to Meana go on and on about her boo, I got a text message from Jazzy.
“Hey Gorgeous.”
“Hey Jazzy, what’s up?”
“You are, shawty.”
“Oh really?”
“Yeah…want to go to dinner tonight?”
“Yes, what time?”
“Be ready at 7pm.”
“Okay.”
When I looked at my phone, time had gone by so quickly; it was already six o’clock.
“Meana, girl, we have got to take a rain check because I have a date.”
“With who…Jazzy?”
We both started laughing as she put on her shoes, getting ready to leave. We gave our hugs and said our goodbyes and she left. I ran upstairs to look in my closet. I didn’t know what to wear for the date
“What do I wear?” I scanned my closet so fast that I grabbed the first not-so-revealing dress that I could find; a red spaghetti-strapped dress that would hug my scrumptious curves just in the right places and have my cleavage showing just a little. I held the dress, still on its hanger, in my hands.
“Jazzy, I gotta leave something for the imagination, now. Can’t have you looking at all my goodies on the first date.”
I don’t know who I was kidding; the chemistry was so strong that he could get it tonight if he really wanted it. Running my bubble bath, I got undressed. Rubbing Noxzema all over my face, I quickly got in the tub. The water was still a little hot, so I had to grab onto the sides of the tub and slowly squatted.
“Oh, shit, hot…hot!” I said it like I had just walked over hot coals. That’s what it felt like as I eased down in the tub. I laid my head back and relaxed while I thought about Jazzy.
Is he the one for me? Why do I feel so strongly about him and I hardly know him? There were so many thoughts going through my head because I had never felt this way about any guy this quickly. I quickly washed my body with my loofah and washed the Noxzema off my face. With my yellow towel wrapped around me, I fixed my hair. I had put in pin curls yesterday, and it still looked great. I usually never pinned my hair up. It looked like I never had it done around the second day or so. I quickly put my dress on and looked in the mirror just one more time before I headed downstairs. My favorite shoes were in the closet. They were red open-toe heels that were about three inches high. I loved to wear heels. They always gave me the perfect posture when walking. Sitting down stairs, I suddenly heard a knock on my door.
“Oh my God, he’s here.”
Before I opened the door, my stomach was filled with butterflies. I was so excited and anxious to be going on a date because it had been so long. When I opened the door, Jazzy was wearing a nice black sweater with blue jeans and a black pair of Stacy Adams. He pulled the outfit off perfectly.
“Hey, sexy.”
“Hey, Jazzy.”
“These are for you.”
“Awww Thank, you sweetie.”
Jazzy had gotten me some beautiful long stemmed red roses. I couldn’t believe it because they were so nice. I hurried to the kitchen to put the flowers in some water, and from the corner of my eye, I noticed Jazzy checking out my house.
“Baby, you have a gorgeous house, here.”
“Thanks.”
“I love the artwork that you have on your wall, and your brown sectional gives it a nice touch.”
“Why, thank you. Are you ready to go?”
“Yup.”
Heading out the door, I made sure that my door was closed tight as I locked it. Looking around at my neighbors, I saw them look at us as we got in the car. I hated the fact that they were so nosey.
“Your neighbors know you messin’ with a boss, shawty!”
“Yeah, I see.”
“By the way, you look real sexy in that dress. Am I going to get a chance to take it off with my teeth?”
I couldn’t help but blush and smile when he said that, but I had to be a lady. I was not giving it up, even though I wanted to so bad. I mean, hell, he was fine and hell, and not to mention, he seemed to be crazy about me.
“I don’t think so.”
“It was worth a try.” He winked at me and smiled.
“Where are we going, anyway?”
“We are headed to an Italian restaurant in Jersey called Enzo’s…eve
r been?”
“No, but I heard that it was a great place to eat.”
“We gon’ find out, boo.”
I sat in the car just day-dreaming about how I had found the perfect man. I never thought that I would meet anyone like him. As I was looking out the window, we had hopped on 202, passing the Concord Mall and Target. I must have been too quiet because I didn’t even hear Jazzy call my name.
“Karmen…helloooo, Karmen.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, sweetie…what’s up?”
“You alright, shawty?”
“Yes, I’m fine. I was just thinking.”
“’Bout what?”
I had to think of something and quick. I couldn’t let him know that I was thinking about him and a possible future that I wanted us to have.
“I was just thinking about how I’m looking for a job now that I have finished school.”
“Well, I think of it like this; now that you are with me, you don’t have to work.”
Both of my eyebrows rose.
“Come again?”
“Look, Karmen. You my girl and don’t have to work. I got you on the bills, hair, nails, tuition, and everything.”
“Jazzy, that’s nice and all, but I didn’t go to school to not have to work.”
“I understand that, boo, but I don’t want my girl worrying over getting a job when you don’t have to.”
“Well I’m thinking about going back to school to get my Master’s degree in Psychology.”
“Okay, you do that. I will pay for everything, books, and the whole nine.”
“Really?”
“Yes, Karmen, why is it so hard for you to believe that your mine? We are going to be together for ever…watch.”
“Okay, Jazzy.”
“Just let me know how much your bills average out to a month and how much the tuition is for the year and I’ll pay it.”
“Okay.”
I couldn’t wait until I got home to call Meana and tell her this shit. I had truly hit the jackpot with this man. My plan was to ride this until the wheels fall off.
“Karmen reach in the back seat, and get the red duffle bag and open it up. I want you to have what’s in there.”
“Uh…okay.” I was a little hesitant.
I hurried up and got the bag because I wanted to know what was in the bag. It seems that Jazzy was quite the surprising type. I had to admit that I loved every minute of it. With the duffle bag on my lap, I opened it up and there was money everywhere. My eyes grew big like diamonds sparkling because I just couldn’t believe all the money that was wrapped in rubber bands.
