The Half-Orcs: Books 1-5 Page 163

by David Dalglish

Harruq squeezed her hand, and that seemed enough comfort for her.

  “You may,” she said.

Tessanna’s face lit up, and she wrapped her arms around Qurrah’s. As they left, Aurelia called out.

  “What do you mean, ‘her’?”

  Tessanna only smiled.

  A note from the author:

Well, we made it. Hasn’t been a smooth ride, but we’re here. I started writing of these characters so long ago, part of me honestly felt I would never finish. This series would always linger in my mind, never complete. But here it is. I hope you’ve enjoyed it, reader, because it was often dark, bloody, and mean. But now this…this is an ending I can smile about. This is the happiness many of you have wanted. Velixar got his ass kicked.

Obvious question first: will there be more? Well, yeah. As you can see, I left plenty for me to do in this world of Dezrel. The angels linger, and already tensions are brewing between them and some of the normal men. Neldar is a wasteland overrun with orcs. Mordan and Ker view each other with suspicion. And Aurelia’s pregnant with a little girl. How can I not continue? However, this Gods’ War is finished, and I’ll turn my eye to other matters. New villains, new focuses, and maybe a new hero or two. But Harruq and Qurrah…they’ll be there. I promise. First off, I need to get a sequel out for Dance of Cloaks, but I have no intention to stop writing. The Tun brothers are close to me, and we’ve kind of bonded over the hell I’ve put them through.

Thanks to Derek for the edits, my Dad for the input, my Monday night gaming crew for the inspirations, a certain fan for the idea of a dragon, my little indie author mafia for the amusement and support, and last but not least, you, dear reader. You’ve stuck with me all the way to the end. I’m living a dream right now, and it is because of you. So to all of you who purchased my books, sent me fanmail, left reviews, and told others about my books: thank you from the bottom of my heart. I couldn’t have done this without you.
