Fatal Attraction Vol. 1 Page 4

"Do you think that I didn't think of that? Thirty years back, Mr. Dickson, you went to a country school. Do you remember that night, Mr. Dickson, when you hit a girl with your car? Do you remember the charges on you?"

Mr. Dickson turned away. Sweat accumulated on his forehead; he was certainly guilty for something he did. "And what's that have to do with my job?"

"You didn't disclose your record when you joined this company. The company didn't know this. You were obliged to present every correct fact about you. And the recent background check revealed this. If you don't sign your severance package, we will sue you for the purposeful nondisclosure of the documents, and trust me that lawsuit will leave you bankrupt." Mark was pushing him to the wall. He was impressive when he said all these words.

"No, you can't do that. They can't do that to me. It's insane. They can't fire me after thirty years of service. And I don't believe the shit you just said to me." He started pacing. "This company—I joined it when I was just twenty. You don't even know how hard it was to survive in that age. I’ve saved this company from going broke for at least three times. And now I'm getting this in return?" Frustration was noticeable in his voice.

I wondered if he was the innocent man here, and the company should give him another chance.

"You just can't take everything away from me. Where I will go at this age? Nobody will take me. And I loved this company more than myself sometimes. The countless nights I spent in this same office worrying about how to get this company out of the black hole. You are the devil, Mr. Peterson. It's not wrong that they call you a devil among lawyers."

"I'm bad, Mr. Dickson, and I'm good at it. And look at the package, this will add to your savings. At least it's enough to live life in dignity. This is the only chance you are getting out of this with money and honor. Consider it as a token of the work you did for this company." Mark replied, trying to calm that old man down.

"No I don't believe this. I need to see the proof of this right now." Mr. Dickson responded with firm voice.

Maybe it was my time to play the bad cop. "Here is the background check, Mr. Dickson," I said. I didn't know what pushed me into doing that; maybe Mark's speech was the driver or I wanted to show my presence. I took a paper out of my envelope and handed it to Mr. Dickson.

He looked at it for a moment. "This is three years old. I don't get it, why are they firing me now? They should have done it three years ago.” Mr. Dickson smiled as he found his Eureka moment. "I'm not a fool, Mr. Peterson. This paper was kept in the background for a reason. And I'm going to pursue this."

"It doesn't matter, Mr. Dickson. A fraud is always a fraud. And you will suffer a lawsuit if you don't accept the package." Mark replied, but his confidence was gone.

"But it doesn't stop me from suing them. I'll get everything back, Mr. Peterson. Yes, I can easily sue them now with this document. Thank you Miss....." He smiled at me. "This is a golden nugget for me. I'm going to use this to destroy them." He started laughing like a maniac.

I looked down. Boy, was, I in trouble. Big trouble. Maybe getting-fired trouble. I just screwed the firm big time. Mark was already holding my arm to drag me out of there.

  Chapter 9

  Zoe

We were driving back to the firm, and my heart was sinking into the deep guilt of the mistake I just made. I'd completely screwed up the case. It should have been simple and Mr. Dickson was almost starting to accept what Mark was offering him. But a single document, which should have been hidden, that I gave to Mr. Dickson changed everything in the wrong direction.

Why in the hell I did I want to insert myself in the conversation? I should have just watched it and learned something from of it. It was my first case, and with a single action I made it my last case in this firm. Maybe my dad is right. I am no good for the law business. But I was just trying to help.

Now the firm would have huge losses and Mark would just throw me in front of the Justin, the firm's managing partner. And he would fire me. And if he went to my dad telling him about my mistake, oh god, how embarrassed dad would feel. No, I can't let that happen.

  "No, this can't happen."

"What?" Mark was looking at me, his eyes fixed on my lips.

"Nothing. I'm so sorry, sir. I didn't mean that."

"I told you, Zoe, to shut your mouth and watch. And moreover, I'd instructed you to not to show those documents to him. Well, I can't blame you for this; it's not your fault actually."

I couldn't believe it. He thought that it wasn't my fault. Wow, that would be nice of him. He knew that I was too new to be naive. That means my job could be saved after all. Most importantly I wouldn't be ashamed for anything.

"It's actually Justin's fault," he continued.

"What?" What was he really trying to say?

"Why in the hell he hooked me up with a fresher." He whispered to himself. But I could hear it.

So he was saying it in sarcasm. He actually thought it was my fault. Wasn't it? Wasn't I foolish enough to show that document to the person we were supposed to fire? God, please. Stop it right here, I can't be embarrassed in front of my dad. If this goes to my dad, I would die of the shame. It would be so bad for me.

"What will happen now?" I wanted to say it loudly, but only thin words came out of my mouth.

"Are you mad? Or didn't you hear what he said? He is going to sue our client, and we are responsible for that." His eyes were shooting fire. Fuck, I was completely dead. He would go to the firm, tell the truth to Justin, and Justin would fire me. My little dream of being a lawyer was destroyed by my single mistake.

Now I should even forget being a paralegal, much less a lawyer. I actually deserved some other job, a more casual one where I could screw up and no one would blame me for that. I should work as waitress or maybe I should just get married to someone rich who could support me.

"Let's go." The car stopped in front of the office. My heart rate increased insanely as we climbed the steps to the reception area. When I climbed those steps this morning, I was happy. It was a new start for me. But now, climbing the same steps, and I am depressed. It would be an end for me. A well deserved end maybe.

"Sir, I need—" I was searching for a way out. I wanted to run away from there. I would to run and never come back. I wanted to avoid the scolding and then firing. I can just say I didn't like the company. Yes, that could be done easily. Olivia wouldn't suspect anything.

"Follow me, Zoe." He said in rude voice. I felt bad and even guiltier. If only I could disappear. Goddamn, there was nothing I could do to save the fucking embarrassment.

We entered the elevator. Sweat was forming at my forehead. My blood was burning on my own stupidity. How could I do that?

"Mark." Justin, the managing partner of the firm was standing in the hallway. How did he know that we were there?

"Not now, Justin, I've work to do." Mark avoided him. At least he wasn't firing me in front of Justin.

"I got a call from James and Pavel that they are suing our client for wrongful termination of Mr. Dickson. Would you explain how the plan went haywire?" Justin sounded angry.

Goddamn, this was it. "Justin......" I decided to bite the bullet and tell him my mistake.

"I dropped the background check document by mistake and he saw it,” Mark replied.

My eyes darted to him in surprise. He should have pinned it on me instead of taken it on himself. Because I was the goddamn one who made the mistake, not Mark.

"Justin......" I tried to call Justin again, but was interrupted by Justin himself.

"Now now, Zoe. Go to your cubicle, Mark and I have more important things to discuss."

I glanced at Mark's face. It was firm and subtle. He was determined. But why did he save me? I wanted to ask him, but instead I walked to his office...

I sat there for next fifteen minutes thinking about what just happened. I was sure to be fired from the company and I ought to have gotten a bashing from Justin and Mark. Instead, Mark took the hit for me. But wh
y would he do that?

"I need some time to ready the counter suit, Justin. We will discuss this after lunch." Mark had guts in him. After confessing a mistake, which he didn't do, he just got rid of the firm's managing director.

"I don't care what you do. I'm not ready to absorb the financial penalties."

"And you won't have to. I never lose, Justin. I goddamn fix everything." Mark was calm with his words. And I knew he meant those words.

"See you later." Justin walked away.

"Do you know how to file a lawsuit for wrong declarations?" Mark turned to face me and started walking towards his office.

"Yes, I do. But......" We entered his office.

"File it against Mr. Dickson, I need it ready in half an hour. I'm going to meet him again." He sat on his chair and swung it to look out of the window. I guess that was gesture for me to get out of the room.

"Sir, can I ask you a question?"

"Shoot." He replied without looking at me.

"Why did you take the blame on yourself, when it was clearly my mistake?"

He turned his chair towards me. He glanced into my eyes. "You are my responsibility, Zoe. So whatever bad you do, it becomes my work. The next time, you better be good, else I'll fire you on the spot. And call me Mark, I don't like being called ’sir.’"

"Yes, sir...Mark." I walked out. He was good; all my hatred for him vanished in a second. He was something different than I imagined.

  Chapter 10

  Mark

"It looks nice, thanks." I replied, as I went through the document Zoe prepared for the lawsuit. Just the first scan revealed that she was good at the work.

"My pleasure, Mark." Her blue eyes flicked as she said those words. I was stuck at her luscious bold lips saying my name out loud. The way her lips moved reminded me of her ass, my cock jumped in my trouser in a swift motion. Fuck, this girl is making me crazy.

"Let me know if you need anything from me." She added and turned back. Her ass moved fantastically in that black pencil skirt she was wearing. Now there was nothing to stop my cock from pushing hard on my trousers. Yes it was her ass that moved my cock that night.

  That Night

She was exhausted when I was done playing with her pussy. My tongue could still taste the sweet juice of her. She smelled damn good down there. I wondered how it would feel to insert my cock and pound her until she get down on her knees and begged me to fuck her harder. My cock jumped harder in my underwear, the only thing stopping me from fucking her. And I didn't want to keep her away from the pleasure she deserved, so my tongue was working instead of my cock.

"You are so tempting, Zoe." I said as she relaxed after the final contraction. I kissed her folds again and moved up to kiss her bold red lips.

"And you are amazingly good." She grabbed my shoulder and bored her nail in my skin.

"You don't know how intimidating I can be, girl."

"Why don't you start by showing your face first?"

"Let's keep it that way. When you know the face, you put a name to the face. Like this, it's only us and our bodies. Isn't that you wanted from the start?" I asked.

"Yes, it's only a one-night-stand." She pulled me up, pushing her lips on mine. She tasted so good, like a sweet strawberry. I wished I could taste her every night. Yes, she was that good.

Her tongue was working magic inside my mouth. But in a moment she withdrew her tongue and tried to push me away. She was actually trying to flip me and push my back on the bed.

But I was too heavy for her.

"Why don't you just ask?" I rolled aside.

"What's the fun in asking?" her mouth was ready with another sharp reply.

"Why do you want to flip me?" I asked again.

"Why get under a car when you can ride the horse?" she winked and licked her lower lip. Damn, she was too sexy.

She was pretty clear for her needs, and I wasn't shy either. I smiled at her and pulled her on me. The way she grinded her hips on me was interesting.

I expected her to ride on my cock, but she actually wanted to go down, she licked her path over my chest, stomach and then on my cock. Like an ice cream cone, she licked and then swallowed it completely in her mouth. Damn she was experienced and I liked it.

"I want to fuck your pussy, babe, and not your mouth." I moaned, as she licked my balls.

"Who said you are going to fuck my mouth. It's me who is going to fuck your cock." She whispered as she traced her tongue over the length of my cock.

By now my cock was jumping in her mouth with the intensity. The more she sucked it, the more I was advancing towards my release.

"Oh, fuck you, Zoe." I roared as she bit my balls. It was painful, but it was something different than any other girl I slept with.

"Now you are ready." She kissed the tip of my cock again and moved up. Then she took a condom out of her bag and rolled it over my cock.

She licked her way up until her hips were on my thighs. I could feel her folds brushing over my cock, the touch was intriguing and provoking. I wanted to hold her torso in my hands and push my cock inside her, but I wanted to see what she would do.

After a few swirls of her hips around my cock, she sat on it as she sat on a horse. The friction was sensational. I couldn't decide which was more satisfying, watching her facial expression or the feeling of my cock filling her inside completely.

"Damn, you are hard and full-filling." She smiled as she took all of my cock inside her. She started moving her hips, slowly, like you start on the horse slowly.

"And you are too hot." I watched her perky tits jumping up and down as she rode on my cock. She was damn good in fucking. It was the first time when I didn't have to work hard to give or take pleasure, instead this time a girl was working and it was fucking awesome to see that.

She bent down to grab my chest for the balance. And then she was too good to be the rider, the way her hips were moving, with every stroke I felt like she was crushing my cock inside her. That was new, damn new and I loved every moment she rode on me.

I extended my hand and grabbed her cheeks. "I like the way you ride it, baby." I grabbed her shoulders and started pushing my hips deeper inside her. The friction between our bodies was working magic on us. I was already hard and ready before she started fucking me, but now as she increased the speed I was on the verge of releasing myself inside her.

"I'm coming." She dug her nails in my chest and pushed herself harder.

"I'm coming too." I released myself. It was an awesome journey. But the night wasn't over yet.

  Current Time

"Mark, are you listening to me?" Zoe was asking. I was pulled back to the current time by her voice. It was still sexy and seducing.

"Sorry," I gathered myself for a moment. "Tell me, Zoe, what do you have?" My eyes unintentionally darted to her waist and then to those perky tits, those remind me how they were jumping when she was riding on me. And then my eyes went to her luscious, bold lips, the dark red lipstick she applied on them. I wished I could wear the mask again and kiss those beautiful lips for hours.

"I've got something on the investment firm. And it's not good."

"What is it? And why are we looking at our client's work?"

"Just look at it once, she said in serious tone.

I stared at it for one second. I could guess if people were serious by just looking at their faces. And right now, Zoe was dead serious on what she was holding in her hand.

I took the papers and started reading them.

"Fuck, this is worse. Do you know we have money invested with them?" It was bad, very bad; the firm was stealing from everyone. "Thanks, Zoe. This changes everything. I need to talk to Justin for this one."

  Chapter 11

  Zoe

"Zoe, isn't it?" I was surprised to see Mr. Dickson call to me when I was on my way to Daniel's office. He had some work for me and I couldn't do it because I was busy in Mr. Dickson's case for the last couple of days.

Now as Mark had taken everyt
hing in his hands, I could work with Daniel on his case. And as per Olivia, spend some more time with him.

"Hello, sir. How may I help you? Are you here to meet Mark?" I guess he had lost his way in the office jungle. It was confusing for me as well when I joined last week. But now it was all crystal clear to me.

"No," he smiled. "I actually came to thank you." He walked to me.

"To thank me?" Here was mystery; why would he thank me? The case was taking a different route now.

"For showing me that letter back then."

"No no, it was a rookie mistake." I felt guilty again. Though things turned out differently, my mistake was my mistake at the end of the day.

"It was, but see how much good has come from it? And I even heard you came up with the facts that my managing partner was stealing money from the company."

"That's my job, sir. And he was stealing that from us as well. He deserved to be exposed," I added. I felt proud of myself, because the client praised me and that means Mark had told him that it was my idea. He is too good to be real. Why would one give credit to someone who doesn't even exist in front of the client? He was a real savior and a person with golden heart. Who in the world does this for a naive paralegal?

"Well I’m impressed. I had been shut out under the nondisclosure agreement at first, but the things you showed me helped me to testify against Alison. Because of your mistake, we won the case and now I'm the managing partner of the entire firm." A smile occupied his entire face.

I liked the way he was smiling. For a man in his late fifties, he was charming and fit to be a managing partner of an investment firm.

"Congratulations for your victory." I extended my hand.

He grabbed and pressed it gently. "And that means more business to your firm as well. I bet Mark must be happy with your performance."

"Yes, I am." Mark jumped in our conversation out of nowhere. "She did a splendid job." He smiled at me. His Scottish accent and the smile, it could really take a girl's heart away. I bet he wouldn't need to approach girls. Girls would die to find a man like him.
