  "Thanks, Mark."

"I should let you do your work. After all, my firm's business is with you again." Mr. Dickson smiled and waved us good bye.

"I'm heading to Daniel's office. Let me know if you have any more work for me," I asked Mark. Why I don't know, but he strongly reminded me of the man in the mask. Maybe his posture was same like him.

"I'm going to that side to. I have to meet Rachael."

"Is she a paralegal?" I remember hearing her name from one of other paralegals.

"Yes, one of the best," he replied smiling.

Is he thinking of taking her help now? So I wasn't good enough for him after all. Was it because of my screw up? My guilt started eating at me again; I thought we would make a good team at the end. But he thought something else.

"I wanted to ask you something?" I asked.

"Please shoot. If you want the remaining day off, take it," he replied without looking at me.

"No, Daniel asked me to help him in some work. Shall I?" I needed his permission after all. And he didn't want me anymore to work with him. So I could go and work with Daniel.

"Did he?" I saw a rare flash of pain in his face, but it vanished in less than a fraction of a second.

  "You can ask him."

"No, I trust you. Anyways, you can work with him. I've no issues, and let me tell you again. You did a good job." He walked away without looking at me. He wanted to meet Rachael, but then he walked to the different side of the building. What really got into him? I couldn't guess. He was strange, after all.

  Chapter 12

  Mark

Why am I so upset if she wants to work with Daniel? For the last two hours that question occupied my mind. I was doing nothing and drinking in my office chair. I rarely did that.

This girl was affecting me more than I could tolerate. First she made me go crazy in bed. The next day she joined my firm without my intention to let her join, then she screwed up, then she rose from the ashes like a Phoenix. And that catch was so good that even Justin would thank her for that. So she actually made her position in the firm concrete by catching the CEO of the investing firm stealing our money through various bank accounts.

She had the body as well as intelligence to support it. And when I was thinking of my own decision to work alone, she wanted to work with Daniel. And clearly he wanted to sleep with her. I hated that thought.

She could have asked me for more work. I'd planned to work on a couple of cases with her, just to teach her how this lawyer game works. But she blew everything when she said she wanted to work with Daniel.

I shook my head. May be the whiskey was affecting my brain too much to think clearly. But there were a thousand different answers to any of my questions, but none to my original question. Why am I so affected by her? Sex wasn't all of it; I'd had sex with many girls before that, the girls already to do the dirtiest things with me. But none affected me like this. I'd slept with girls way sexier than her, who had fantastic figures, lips, eyes, asses. But when I look at her, I feel drowned in her eyes, I feel attracted to her lips and I wish I could hold that ass again as I did that night.

"Goddamn, what is happening to me?" I pushed my hair back.

"Wasssup, dude?" Daniel walked in my office. "Jack Daniels? You could have called me to celebrate with you."

"You can join me now if you wish." I turned to face him. Bringing a forced smile on my face.

"She is good, man; she is beautiful and talented, too." Daniel smiled back at me.

"Yes, she is. But why are you here Daniel? I thought you were working on some important case with her. Didn't you?"

"I'm going to work on her tonight." He winked at me.

"What?" I almost dropped my glass. What did he mean by that? Though I already know he wanted to fuck her, I still found it surprising.

"Yes, I'm going to ask her out after work. And you bet, no single girl can say no to me. And then later tonight, I'll work on her in my own style." He smirked at me.

"Why are you telling me this?" I'd recovered; I knew Daniel couldn't do it that easily. I sipped my whiskey again, but now it tasted more bitter than ever.

"Just an FYI, after all, you are her boss, and if she comes crying later, you wouldn't be saying that I didn't warn you." He chuckled.

"Go ahead, mate, it's your personal matter." I replied. It was. I shouldn't be caring about whom she decides to sleep with.

If she chose Daniel, then let it be. "May tonight be your best night." I knew it would be, because she was good, too good.

"She might even take a leave tomorrow when I am done with her." He again winked at me and walked out.

I was sitting there with my glass of whiskey, but my mind was wondering about Zoe. How could I just let Daniel walk away with her?

I pulled the tissue she left me in the hotel suit. It had her number, which I had never called.

  ***

  Zoe

I sat there waiting for Daniel. He said he would be back with something special.

My cell rang. It was an unknown number.

  I picked it up.

  "Hello."

"Hello Zoe, it's M. I guess you couldn't stop thinking about me?" I almost dropped my cell phone. It was same mesmerizing male voice. It ran a fire in between my thighs.
