She chuckled, feeling a little nervous. And a little flattered, too. “First of all, that sounded a little sexist. I don’t like pink or lace. But the real question is, why would I want to do that? This is your place, not mine.”

Darrold’s dark eyes latched onto her, pulling her in. She felt the wash of the sensation rush over her again, stronger still. For a second, all she wanted was to have him between her legs, her legs wrapped around his waist, locking him to her.

“Naw, sugar, this is your place, too. At least, that’s what we want.”

“It is?” They were joking. They had to be.

“It sure is.” Darrold grew even more serious. “I know this is coming straight out of left field, but we want you. Hell, I’ve wanted you since the first moment I saw you.”

Byton moved closer, unnerving her as well as exciting her. “You feel it, don’t you? You feel the really strong attraction to us. But it’s more than attraction. It’s a connection that makes not knowing us unimportant. We’re connected, meant to be. You feel it, right?”

She almost nodded, confirming what he’d said. But what they were suggesting was ridiculous. How could they believe she was ready to move in with them? She didn’t even know them. Byton had said as much. What were they thinking? And yet, she loved what they were saying. It was as though she’d waited a lifetime to hear it. But not from just anyone, not even Bill. She’d needed to hear it from these men.

  This is crazy.

“Say it, baby. Say you feel it,” urged Mike.

Again, she almost admitted it. What was she thinking? She wouldn’t, couldn’t let the pleasure overtaking her rule her mind. She should get the hell out of there. They had to be delusional to think she’d just give herself to them.

And yet, that was exactly what she wanted to do.

She had to change the subject if only to breathe easier. She chuckled, letting them know she knew they had to be joking. “Oh, sure. Let’s move in together. No problem. Come on, guys. Stop joking around.”

Mike opened his mind, obviously ready to refute her claim. Without considering what to talk about, she said, “So tell me about the werewolves. I want to know everything you know. I want you to show me one, too.” She was asking the impossible, but it was better than talking about staying with them.

At once, Mike’s and Byton’s faces clouded. Mike confronted Darrold, tilting his head as though in question. His expression was hard, challenging.

  “Darrold,” warned Mike.

Darrold looked like he’d been caught in a lie. Instead of answering Mike, he looked to her. “This isn’t the time or place.”

“Why not?” She shrugged. “Don’t they know there are werewolves in Forever?”

She wished she’d been facing Mike. If she had, she might’ve known that the growl she’d heard had come from him. Not that it meant anything. A man could make growling sounds, too. And yet, she was worried his growl meant a whole lot more.

Could werewolves be real? She shook off the ridiculous idea.

“What exactly has Darrold told you?” Byton moved closer, his eyes containing little bits of the strange amber.

She studied the men and knew they were hiding something. At times, they wouldn’t look straight at her. But what could they be hiding? Surely it wasn’t that werewolves were real. Yet, why were they making such a big deal about telling her the myths? “He hasn’t told me much of anything. That’s the point. I want to know everything.” She turned Darrold again. “So tell me. Were you just jerking me around at the café? Or were you telling me the truth? Do werewolves actually exist or not?” She grinned, giving him the chance to say he’d been joking. But he didn’t. It unnerved her more than she thought possible.

  Come on. Werewolves? For real?

For several moments, none of the men spoke. In fact, she was sure they’d clammed up for good.

“Look, I didn’t come all the way out here to look at horses. I came to talk about werewolves. So someone better start talking.”

“Forget about the damn werewolves.” A muscle jumped in Mike’s jaw.

The way Mike talked, it seemed as though he believed in werewolves. As though he believed they were actually real.

Her stomach tightened. Were the men crazy? Yet, something inside her told her they were all too sane.

“I thought you came to apologize to Mike.”

She stammered at Byton’s accusatory question. “I did. But I also want to know about werewolves. So, come on, guys. Spit it out. Now.”

“Damn. You sure are a bossy bitch,” muttered Mike.

Bitch? Did he just call me a bitch?

Her dander was up, and she wasn’t going to take any shit. “What did you call me? Did you just call me a bitch?”

“He didn’t mean it that way.” Byton stepped between them, blocking her as she took a step toward Mike. “Being called a bitch around here is a good thing. It’s a compliment.”

“Oh, sure. I know a lot of women who like to be called bitch,” she said. Yet she had to control her anger. She knew that if she let it get out of control, there would be no turning back. And, no doubt, the men would shut up fast. “I’m not sure how you could mean that in any other way, but I’ll let it go this time. I guess Mike hasn’t learned his lesson about how to treat a woman.”

“Oh, I know how to treat a woman.” Mike shoved against Byton, trying to get closer.

There was no doubt in her mind that Mike, as well as Byton and Darrold, would treat her roughly. Roughly in a good way. Did she want that? Did she want rough treatment? Was that why she was baiting him?

“You’re like a new colt that needs to be broken.”

Had she heard Darrold right? He was starting to sound a lot like Mike. “I don’t know what it is with you guys, but understand this. I am no animal.”

Darrold moved closer, coming so fast that she was unprepared to have his face so close to hers. She sucked in a quick breath and almost sighed with the rush of desire.

  Oh my God.

  Chapter Four

Taking hold of her arms, Darrold carried her backward until he had Malia’s back pressed against the wall. She let out a burst of air as exhilaration swept through her. Was this what she’d been wanting all along? The answer came back a resounding yes.

Darrold put his lips close to her ear. She could feel his warm breath against her skin and ached to feel it on a lower part of her body. She yearned to feel the warmth spreading over her throbbing clit. He took her wrists, lifted her arms, and pinned them against the wall.

“What you need to understand, sugar, is that some animals are a hell of a lot better than some humans.”

“What does that mean?” she whispered.

She could feel the rise and fall of his chest. She swore she could hear his heart beating and feel the race of his pulse. But none of his reactions could compare to hers. Her breath was coming in heated pants, and her pulse sounded like the crash of the ocean against the beach at heavy tide.

A wicked gleam sparkled in his eyes. Eyes that were flecked with bits of amber. She glanced beyond him and saw Mike and Byton striding toward her. She shuddered as Darrold put his lips to her neck and nibbled. He gave her small bites, but they weren’t painful. Other than the pain of desire they gave her as her yearning grew even stronger. She urged herself to think, but doing so was an impossible task. Instead, she let out a yelp as Mike tugged her away from Darrold and into his arms.

  “It means this.”

She lost her breath when he crushed his lips to hers. His hands gripped her buttocks as he forced her closer, harder against him. Heat rushed through her, engulfing her, a flame of desire that could not have been extinguished with any amount of water. She had to have him, just as much as he had to have her. He lifted her up, taking her off her feet, so she could wrap her legs around him. As she clung to his neck, he hurriedly unbuckled his belt and unzipped his jeans then shoved them to the floor. She moaned, a plea for him to hurry.

  More hands slid
over her body, taking her clothes from her. The kiss continued, deepening as he sucked her tongue into his mouth then released it and chased it back inside her mouth. His teeth captured her upper lip, nibbling there, then sliding down to take her lower lip. Her breasts crushed against his chest, and although her chest pressed to his felt delicious, she wanted his hands on them.

Soon she was naked, the air conditioning flowing over her skin. But as soon as his cock was deep inside, he would make her warm.

And then she felt it. Mike’s cock pressed against her pussy folds. He clutched her hair now, as the other men supported her, keeping her pinned. Clutching her hair and jerking her head back, he sought out her eyes. She moaned again, a primal answer to his unspoken question.

He mouthed a word, and she understood. “Now?”

“Yes,” she whispered. As if he needed her permission. He had her now, even if she hadn’t said yes. She would’ve never turned him down.

The muscle in his jaw flexed again as he repositioned her then slid his hand between her legs. She was wet. Oh, so wet. And she needed him so desperately.

His mouth parted, showing his teeth. The tips of his eyeteeth slipped over his lower lip as though they’d grown longer, sharper. She tried to understand what that meant, how that could be, but she couldn’t hold on to the idea. She shouldn’t have tried.

In the next moment, every possible means of thought eluded her as he pushed his cock inside her. She let out a small cry as three sets of hands covered her body. Darrold and Byton stood beside her, taking turns to torture her tits, her ass. Their lips skimmed over her skin, their teeth laying little nibbles here, then there.

She closed her eyes and gave herself to the incredible sensation swirling inside her.

Mike’s cock was huge, forcing her vaginal walls to give away. The friction set up a lightning fire within her. She cried out again as he thrust his hips over and over, moving forward in rapid motions. He drove into her again and again, to the very end of her, until she was sure he’d tear her apart. And yet, she wouldn’t have asked him to stop. More, she would’ve begged him to continue.

Perspiration dotted their skin as Mike’s thrusts became more rapid, more feverish. His eyes seemed to have more amber than before. With determination chiseled into his face, he kept fucking her, going slow then fast, teasing her with every thrust.

The climax hit her hard, surprising her with the intensity of it. Her body shuddered under the assault, her pussy crying out for release, her clit throbbing as she spilled her cream.

Suddenly, she was lifted away from him, but her feet never touched the ground. Instead, Darrold grabbed her then slammed her against the wall as Mike had done. As though to nail her there, he drove his cock inside her. Her breasts pressed against his granite-like chest as she arched her back, pushing away from the wall, hoping she could push his cock even deeper inside her.

Byton was next to them, his hand on his cock, stroking it. She wanted him to stroke her instead. Soon, hopefully, he would.

“Take it easy on her, boys,” said Mike, who had sat on the couch. “Don’t forget what she is.”

  What I am?

The question flitted across her mind, but she couldn’t take hold of it. Instead, she dug her fingernails into Darrold’s shoulders, determined to hang on. Not that she needed to worry. He had her securely held against the wall.

The strange sensation whipped wildly through her, coursing outward from her aching pussy to tremble through her limbs. Even if they hadn’t been touching, she would’ve felt at one with them. As though she’d known them for entire life. It was a crazy thought, but one she couldn’t push away.

Her uttered “uhs” came with Darrold’s every thrust. Her climax renewed, building again, this time, even stronger, even faster than before. The muscles rippled in his back as she slid her fingers over them, thrilling in the discovery of each hard rise.

These men were more than simple men, and it was more than their bodies that had brought her to them. Yet none of it made sense. She’d never cheated on Bill before, had never even had the thought to do so. Yet, now, she risked everything she held dear to have these men.

Darrold shoved his cock inside her again then stilled. Leaning away, he gave her a soft smile. But the smile soon morphed into an intense expression, one that heralded his release.

“One more,” he muttered. One more time, he thrust inside her. Then his expression tightened even harder before finally relaxing. He dropped her to the floor then fell away from her.

She almost slumped to the floor, but Byton caught her before she did. She tried to speak, tried to say something, anything, but no words would come. It seemed Byton didn’t need any words.

Pushing her to the floor, he slid over her then spread her legs and entered her. She wrapped her legs around his waist then took hold of his strong arms. If she didn’t, she might fly away, carried on a wave of release. He rose and fell over her, matching her movements, like a man riding a wild horse. She hadn’t wanted to be thought of as an animal before, but she did now. These men were the true animals. They were untamed, unbridled, taking her as a stallion would take his mare.

Byton’s body was an undulating wave rolling over the top of her, cresting at the peak before falling to start the movement again. His eyes were closed, his jaw set. The rhythm took both of them. She was lost to him like a rowboat set adrift on his ocean. Together they worked, as though they were one, her breaths matching his, her heart beating with his.

His release came all too soon for her. At least, she thought so, until her climax barreled through her, wiping away all her remaining strength. As he fell away, covering his cock, her orgasm ripped her to shreds.

By the time she could speak, by the time her heart had stopped racing, the men had cleaned themselves and moved to clean her. Having them glide towels over her body seemed even more intimate than the sex. With each stroke, they caressed her. Although they spoke no words, she understood their adulation, their worship for her, and it brought tears to her eyes. She lay there, watching them, her need for them growing once more.

“Are you okay, baby?” asked Mike.

His words, his tone was so sweet, so gentle. So un-Mike-like. “I’m fine.”

Byton wiped away a tear. “Then what are you crying for?”

“Nothing.” How could she explain what she didn’t understand?

She knew something was definitely happening between them. No one, not even Bill, had ever made her feel this way.

As though he could hear her thinking about him, her phone began to ring, and she knew it had to be Bill.

  Oh shit.

She scrambled to her feet, clutching her clothes against her body. She didn’t bother taking the phone out of her pocket. She knew it was Bill. It had to be. But why? Had what she’d said finally hit home? Was he calling her to beg her not to break up?

Mike, Darrold, and Byton move to the couch, not bothering to get dressed. It was almost comical when they tilted their heads in unison.

“Darlin’, you don’t have to leave.” Byton shot her a smile that sent lust searing through her.

Darrold stood up and started toward her until she held up her hand, holding him back. Confusion marred his brow as he frowned. “He’s right, sugar. You know you feel the connection between us. There’s no need to take off. We’re yours now, and you’re ours.”

She was already shaking her head no by the time Mike looked up at her, his eyes narrowed. With a single look, he made her want to lie down and spread her legs once again. Somehow, she resisted as her hand covered the pocket that held her phone.

“This was so wrong. So very wrong.” She should’ve waited, should’ve talked to Bill more. She should’ve made certain he knew they were over.

  “You have a man.”

Mike’s accusatory tone was enough to make her cringe. “I have a very good man. A good man that didn’t deserve what just happened.”

Byton shook his head, but his expression was determin
ed. “I feel sorry for him, but it doesn’t change things. We’re meant to be together. Come to bed with us.”

She was dressed, but the urge to get undressed was so great that her hand went to the top button of her blouse. Her hand shook as she forced herself to put it at her side. “You’re right. It doesn’t change a damn thing. This is not why I came here.”

“You wanted to talk about werewolves,” said Mike. “So let’s talk about them.”

He was willing to talk now if it would keep her there. Yet if she didn’t leave now, she might never leave. She shook her head as much to deny them as to convince herself. “No. Not now. I have to go.” After taking one last look at the three gorgeous men, she raced for the door. Just as she pushed it open, she heard Byton’s voice.

“No. Let her go. She’ll be back.”

  No, I won’t.

Yet her words felt like a lie.

  * * * *

After trying to reach Bill several times with no luck, Malia finally gave in. She’d have to wait for him to call her.

Instead, she turned to the idea that had been nagging her. Malia sat back from the computer and stared at the screen. Her eyes burned from hours of searching through one website then another. Yet another kind of burn came from inside her.

She’d asked the men about the existence of werewolves and had expected them to laugh and say it was all just a joke. But when they’d refused to talk about the creatures or had grown stonily quiet, she’d gotten curious.

Werewolves were the stuff of legends. Myths abounded on the Internet, linking them to almost every country. Yet, when she’d found one website that had mentioned Forever, she’d been hooked. What she’d read had turned her world upside down.

According to the man who owned and ran the website, the small Texas town of Forever was full of shifters. Not only werewolves, but cat shifters as well as other supernatural beings like vampires and fairies. At first, she’d discounted the website as the absurd posts from a less-than-sane person. But then names were mentioned.
