“Oh…God…Logan…please,” she begs as her foot runs up and down my leg.

“Please what, Isabel?” I ask as I coat my cock in her juices and prepare to enter her.

Sliding her hand between us and wrapping it around my cock, “I need this,” she says as she runs her hand up and down the length, “Now!”

Not being able to deny her or myself any longer, I slowly push inside her savoring the feel of her tight pussy wrapped around me, and then begin a slow steady rhythm. “God, Isabel, you feel so good.”

“Logan,” she says in the sexiest voice I’ve ever heard, as she wraps her legs around my waist, her breathing now coming in short pants, “harder, please.”

I increase my rhythm, thrusting into her until her walls begin to tighten around me. “Logan…so close, don’t stop.”

“No chance, beautiful,” I continue thrusting as her orgasm begins to roll through her, following close behind with my own release.

Lying in my bed, tangled up in the sheets, Isabel in my arms, her head on my chest, I breathe in the citrus scent of her shampoo.

I hear her softly say my name, “Logan?”

  “Yeah?”

“I, um, just wanted you to know, I don’t usually do this.”

I shift my body so we’re lying face to face, “Isabel, this isn’t routine for me either. Truth is, I like you, a lot,” I say with a smile. “And I hope that I didn’t scare you off by moving too fast, because I’d really like to see you again.”

A shy smile appears on her face as she softly says, “I’d like that.” She places a kiss on my mouth and grins, “Lucky for you I don’t scare easily.”

I draw her closer to me, her legs tangle with mine, “Oh, is that so?”

“Yep,” she says a wide a grin on her face as her eyes sparkle with amusement.

“You may not scare easily, but I bet I can still make you scream,” I tease as I quickly flip her onto her back causing her to squeal as I begin to devour her body one delicious inch at a time.

  Chapter 5

  September

Pulling up outside of Isabel’s Café, I put my Rover in park and turn off the engine. Reaching for the vase filled with baby’s breath and four red roses, one for each month I’ve been seeing Isabel, I step out onto the sidewalk and pocket my keys, before walking inside. At just after one o’clock, the lunch crowd has died down and the only customer left is clearing their table and preparing to leave. Dropping her trash in the receptacle near the door, she calls her thanks to Isabel and wishes her a good day, before stepping out the door.

“Delivery for Miss Velez,” I say to get her attention.

She turns and looks over her shoulder, a wide grin lighting up her face when she sees me standing in the café. Wiping her hands on her apron, she makes her way around the counter, nodding towards the flowers in my hand, “Hi, taking a second job delivering flowers?”

“I have a very limited delivery route. In fact, this is the only address I deliver to.”

“Is that right?” she asks, taking the vase from my hand and setting it on the counter.

“Yep,” I reply as I pull her into my arms and against my chest, “Happy anniversary, Isabel.” Placing a gentle kiss on her mouth, her lips part allowing my tongue to sweep inside in a tantalizing kiss.

The sound of the bell over the door interrupts our moment and I slowly pull away with a chuckle when I hear the amusement in Molly’s voice as she says, “Well, I should say I’m sorry for interrupting, but we all know that wouldn’t be true.”

Embarrassed, Isabel buries her face in my chest and laughs, before sliding her arm around my waist and turning to face our friend and the woman, who bears a slight resemblance to Molly, that’s with her. “Hi Molly, how are things going in the world of interior design?”

“Going really well. We’ve picked up several more clients so I can’t complain,” she says as she moves closer to us.

“That’s great, we’re so happy for you Molly,” I say as I give Isabel a squeeze.

“Thanks you guys. Now I have to know, how long have you two been seeing each other? And more importantly, why haven’t either of you told me sooner?”

Looking down at Isabel I smile, then look back to Molly, “Actually, we met at your open house and we’ve been seeing each other ever since.”

Isabel smiles up at me, “I think we were afraid to jinx it.”

Molly squeals and claps her hands, “That’s wonderful! I knew there was something going on between you two that night, I’m so happy for you two! I can’t wait to tell Travis!”

“Did you need to order something?” Isabel asks as she starts to move away from me, only to have Molly stops her.

“No, well maybe, but that wasn’t the reason we stopped by.” She brings the woman that accompanied her to her side and continues, “I wanted to introduce you to my sister, Shelby Burch. Shelby, these are my friends, and evidently newest couple, Isabel and Logan.”

“Molly, I didn’t know you had a sister,” Isabel says as she moves forward to shake Shelby’s hand.

“Neither did Molly, until recently,” Shelby says in a sweet southern drawl as she takes Isabel’s hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Isabel,” then taking my hand says, “and you too Logan.”

Molly laughs, “It was quite a shock, but a pleasant one, now that I’ve gotten to spend some time with her. Shelby is photographer, and I think I’ve convinced her to open her studio on the third floor above Emily Jack Designs.”

“That’s great! I hope it works out for you Shelby. We’re always glad to hear of new businesses opening.”

“Thanks, Logan. I’m looking forward to getting back to work.”

“Feel free to drop off some business cards or post flyers in the window,” Isabel says as she glances up at me, “we’re both happy to help with advertising.”

“Thank you both,” Shelby says looking between us, “I really appreciate that.”

Looking at my watch I politely excuse myself, “Well ladies, as much as I’d love to stay and chat, I need to get back to the store.” Turning to Isabel, I give her a quick kiss, “I’ll pick you up at seven for dinner.”

“Sounds good, I’ll see you then.”

Then turning first to Shelby I say, “Shelby, it was very nice to meet you.”

  “Thank you Logan, you too.”

“Molly, always a pleasure,” I say giving her a quick hug, “say hi to Travis for me.”

“Will do,” Molly says and then gives me a little push. “Now get out of here so I can get the details on this relationship you two have been hiding from me.”

“Yes ma’am,” I reply jokingly while giving her a mock salute. “Have a good day ladies,” I call as I walk out the door.

Stepping up onto Isabel’s porch, I ring the bell and wait for her to answer. She opens the door with the phone to her ear, and a smile on her face, “Hi,” she mouths as I step inside and kiss her cheek. “Sure, Javy, one-thirty should be fine, the lunch crowd has died down by then so we’ll have time to visit.” She pauses to listen to what he’s saying, then laughs before saying, “Yeah, I love you too, bye.” Ending the call, she turns to me, “Sorry about that,” she says as I wrap my arms around her, as she nervously toys with one of the buttons on my shirt, “Javy and Maya are stopping by for lunch tomorrow, maybe you can join us? I’d love for you to meet them,” she says hopefully.

Her face lights up when I tell her, “I’d love too, but I might be a little bit late. I’ll be the only one at the store until Carmen shows up.”

“That’s fine, I’m sure they will be there for a while.”

“Then, I’ll be there. Are you ready to go?”

“Whenever you are,” she says trying to pull out of my arms.

Holding her firmly in place I reply, “Just as soon as I do this,” I capture her mouth, teasing her lips with my tongue until she parts them, allowing me entrance to her mouth. Reluctantly pulling away, I grin against her lips, “There, that’s much be
tter.”

“Mhmm, yes it is,” she purrs as she slowly steadies herself.

I chuckle, and place a kiss on her forehead, “Come on beautiful, let’s get out of here.”

Over the past few months, Isabel and I have spent a lot of time together, getting to know one another. With both of us owning our own business, we tend to spend more time quietly relaxing at home, rather than going out. When we reached the one-month anniversary of our relationship, I insisted on taking her out to dinner to celebrate. Though we do go out to dinner occasionally, it has now become customary to celebrate each month together with a nice dinner.

Arriving at the small Italian restaurant, the maître‘d shows us to our table and gives us menus to browse while we wait for our server. Within a few minutes, the server arrives to take our order then returns moments later with a bottle of wine. With our wine glasses filled, once we are again alone, I ask, “Molly didn’t give you too hard of a time today after I left, did she?”

Isabel laughs and shakes her head, “No, Molly was thrilled we were seeing each other. Although she may have mentioned something about naming our first born after her,” she says with a shy smile and a slight blush.

Laughing I say, “That sounds like Molly. Did you find out anything else about Shelby?”

“Her mother passed away earlier this year, and left her a letter telling her who her biological father was. That’s how she found out about Molly. She moved here from Louisiana to be close to her dad and brother.”

“Wow, I’m sure that was a shock for both of them.”

“Yeah, I can’t imagine. Especially since she didn’t get to meet her father, since he and Molly’s mother passed away a year earlier.”

“Yeah that would be rough. But it looks like she and Molly are getting along well.”

Isabel giggles, “It’s hard not to get along with Molly. She’s one of the most accepting people I’ve ever met.”

“That’s true,” I say as our server approaches the table with our meals. Sitting our plates before us, she tells us to enjoy our meals and leaves the table.

“This looks delicious,” Isabel says as she places her napkin on her lap.

Our conversation is light through dinner and after sharing a piece of tiramisu, I pay the check and we make our way out of the restaurant. We wait for the valet to bring my SUV around, Isabel, steps up on her toes and kisses my cheek, “Thank you for dinner.”

Leaning down I place a soft kiss on her lips, “Thank you for the last four months.”

When the valet arrives, I help Isabel into her seat and close the door. Making my way to the driver’s side, I tip the valet and climb behind the wheel. Pulling out into traffic we make the drive back to Isabel’s, our fingers entwined resting on my thigh. Putting the vehicle in park, I move around to open Isabel’s door, and walk her to the door. Looking up at me through her lashes she asks, “Did you want to come in?”

“Yeah, I’d like to, if that’s okay?”

“Of course,” she says as she unlocks the door and we step inside. “I like having you here with me Logan.”

“That’s good, because there’s something I wanted to talk to you about.”

  “Oh? Is everything okay?”

“Yeah, everything is perfect actually.” Taking her hand, I lead her over to the sofa and sit so we are facing each other. “I was thinking about how well things are going with us, and I was wondering, if you would consider moving in with me?”

Her eyes widen, and I can’t help but notice how shocked she looks, “Move in with you?”

“Yeah, Isabel, these last few months with you have been amazing. I never thought I would find someone so perfect for me to fall in love with.”

  “You’re in love with me?”

Letting out a heavy sigh, I mutter to myself, “I’m doing this all wrong.” Taking her face in my hands, my thumbs stroke her cheeks, “Isabel Velez, in the last four months, I have fallen in love with you. Would you please consider moving in with me?”

Her eyes search mine and begin to fill with tears, “Logan, I love you too.”

  “You do?”

She laughs nervously and replies, “Yeah, I do.”

Not being able to wait any longer, I crash my lips to hers. When we pull apart both breathless, I ask, “Does this mean you’ll move in with me?”

Still looking nervous about agreeing to move in with me after such a short time, Isabel asks, “Are you sure it’s not too soon?”

Trying to put her mind at ease, I say, “Isabel, first of all you need to know, I don’t care what anyone thinks about it being too soon. I love you and I’d love nothing more than to wake up beside you every morning and fall asleep with you in my arms every night. You don’t have to answer right away, just think about it, okay?”

She smiles softly and I see her visibly relax, “Okay, I’ll think about it, I promise.”

  “Good, that’s all I ask.”

“In the meantime,” she says as she crawls into my lap, “I’d love for you stay here with me tonight.” Her lips connect with my neck as she begins leaving a trail of kisses, “Show me what we could have if I say yes.”

“Woman, I like the way you think,” I say as I scoop her into my arms and carry her to her bedroom.

  Chapter 6

Making my way to my Range Rover parked behind the store, I send a quick text to Isabel letting her know that I’m on my way. As I buckle my seatbelt, I see her response, a smiley face that does indeed make me smile.

Driving the short distance to the café, I park along the curb, and kill the engine. Stepping through the front door, I quickly locate Isabel at a table with a couple I assume to be her brother and sister-in-law. The bell above the door announces my arrival and Isabel quickly rises from her seat to greet me. “You made it,” she says a smile on her face that doesn’t quite reach her eyes.

I lean in and place a soft kiss on her lips, “Everything okay,” I ask softly before I pull away.

“Of course,” she replies, but I can tell, something has her troubled. Taking my hand, she leads me over to the table and begins to introduce me. “Logan, I’d like you to meet my brother Javier and my sister-in-law Maya.”

Though they are seated, Javier appears to be about my height, with the same dark hair and sparkling brown eyes as his sister. Maya, his wife, is just as beautiful as the smile she warmly throws my way. The love they feel evident in the way their eyes light up when looking at each other. Shaking both of their hands, I say honestly, “It’s pleasure to meet you both.”

Isabel squeezes my hand, and I turn to give her my attention. “I have a sandwich ready for you, let me grab it.”

I smile at her thoughtfulness, “Thanks, babe.” I take a seat as Isabel scurries behind the counter and returns with a sandwich and drink for me.

“Logan, Isabel was telling us, that you own a resale store,” Maya says.

“That’s right. My parents and grandparents have been in the business for as long as I can remember. My parents are beginning to think of retiring, so I’m transitioning to take over for them.”

“Sounds familiar,” Javier says causing us all to chuckle.

“Oh stop,” Maya teasingly chastises her husband, “you love being in charge of the Phoenix office.”

“I never said I didn’t, it’s good to be the boss,” he says as he pops a potato chip into his mouth, causing Maya to roll her eyes.

“Isabel says you work for your family’s law firm.”

“That I do,” he says with a nod. “Actually we both do,” he says as he lovingly looks as his wife. “Maya is in charge of the paralegals and I oversee the attorneys at the firm, and take on a few select cases just to stay sharp. Though I prefer family law over the corporate law that my parents and brother practice.”

We continue to talk during lunch, and I find both Javier and Maya easy to talk to and very personable. After about an hour, Javier looks at his watch and turns to his wife, “I guess we should be going. I didn’t real
ize we’ve been here so long.”

“Are you sure you can’t stay longer,” Isabel asks. While I’m certain she is being sincere in wanting to spend more time with them, something still feels, off.

“Yes, unfortunately, I have a meeting in forty-five minutes. But, next week?”

Isabel smiles softly at her brother, “Sure, next week sounds good.”

“Good,” he says as he kisses her cheek.

Turning to me Javier offers his hand and says, “Logan, it was a pleasure to meet you. I hope you’ll join us for dinner next week as well.”

“I’d love too. It was nice meeting you both as well.”

After another round of goodbyes, Javier and Maya wave as they walk through the door and Isabel immediately switches into clean up mode. Gathering up the trash from lunch, she quietly takes everything behind the counter. When she comes back to the table, I catch her hand and tug her down into my lap at the table. “Isabel, tell me what’s wrong.”

She closes her eyes and releases a heavy sigh, “Remember when you asked if Javy and Maya had children, and I said not yet?” I nod, unsure of where this is going and wanting her to continue. “Seven years ago Javier was diagnosed with cancer. He and Maya had only been married three years, and planned on waiting a few more years before they had children. The doctor told them that the cancer treatments he needed would diminish their chances of getting pregnant. So they decided to freeze some embryos, so they could have them implanted later.”

“That sounds like a good plan. But if they are expecting, I would think you would be excited for them.”

“Oh I would be, and I was when they implanted the first one right after Javy hit his fifth year cancer free and the second one a year later. Unfortunately, Maya’s body rejected them and now they only have three embryos remaining.”
