Slowly, she opened her eyes and looked into his. She didn’t just want him. She ached to have him. The feel of his body on her own, filling her up and then coming undone around him. She spun around and ground her ass into him, enjoying the delicious groan that followed.

“You’re killing me here,” he said in her ear. His hand snaked around her waist to keep her movements still against him.

He breathed hard as he planted open-mouthed kisses along her neck. When he reached her earlobe, he nipped it a few times before sucking it into his mouth. This time it was Olivia’s turn to groan.

Olivia turned again in his arms and wrapped her hands around his neck, drawing him nearer to her. “Fuck going slow,” she said and planted a searing kiss on his lips.

She could feel the surprise as she crashed into him, but Reed recovered quickly and was soon in charge of a commanding kiss. When his tongue started to fuck her mouth, she moaned. Her insides clenched with need.

Reed ripped his mouth from hers and looked down into her eyes, searching for something. She reached up and cupped his face, enjoying the feeling.

“We’re going,” he said and pulled her through the crowd, back to the table in the back room.

Three sets of eyes looked back at them. Olivia flushed. Her lips were raw, and she knew it must be obvious what she had been doing.

“Did you drive?” Reed asked Irene.

  She shook her head confused.

Reed turned to Ryder. “Take her home when she’s ready using Liam car. Then get him to take you and Meg home.”

“Leaving so soon?” Jess grinned at Olivia, and the heat on her cheeks spread.

Reed nodded and started to pull her back through the room. Just before she disappeared through the door, she saw her friend mouth to call her.

Olivia smiled. Hopefully, she would have something interesting to tell her friend.

  Chapter Thirteen

Reed strummed his fingers on the wheel as they drove home. Olivia had been strangely quiet since getting in the car, and he worried she might be changing her mind. His foot punched the accelerator, and they surged forward.

“I don’t…” Olivia started and then stopped. Reed glanced over to see she was twisting the material of her dress, the hem of it rising dangerously high.

He sighed when his driveway came into view.

“I’m not…” she tried again. Her cheeks were bright red when he finally brought the car to a stop and turned to face her.

Reed took one hand in his own. “Are you changing your mind? I’ll understand if you do.”

“Hell, no,” she said with such conviction he nearly laughed with relief. One hand cupped her cheek while his thumb stroked her lower lip.

“Well what’s the problem?” he asked.

“I don’t have any protection.” The blush deepened. “I mean I’m not on anything.”

“Oh well I have loads,” he laughed.

Olivia pulled away. A look of revulsion on her face.

“Oh it’s not like that,” he said, taking her hand once again. “Cage thinks it’s funny to buy me condoms for my birthday every year.” Reed paused and debated what to tell her, but the truth was the only thing that came to mind. “It’s been a while. A long while actually.”

This wasn’t the conversation he expected to be having before all this.

  “Me too,” she said quietly.

His eyes widened at the revelation. God, how he wanted to know this meant as much to her as it did to him but didn’t know if he was ready for this step. It had been a long time, and the last time hadn’t really worked out like he expected.

Without a word, he got out and moved to her side of the car. When he came around the side, she was already climbing out. She looked amazing all night. The low-back dress was driving him crazy. All that exposed skin was just begging for him to run his mouth over her.

He watched her back as she walked up the stairs to the porch. Once inside she turned to stare at him. Panic sparked in him at the determined look on her face.

“I’ve been thinking about this,” she said dropping her purse on the table in the entrance. “You know all of my secrets, and I don’t know any of yours.” She sighed and stepped closer to him. “I know something happened.” She furrowed her brow. “With Niki.”

Reed closed his eyes for a moment, shutting out the things he really didn’t want to have to rehash. Opening them, he tossed his keys next to her purse.

“It’s not important,” he said and stormed off into the living room.

No, this was not how the evening was supposed to go down. They weren’t supposed to be having a heart to heart.

“It is important,” she said from behind him.

“What do you want from me?” He glowered at her.

“What do I want?” Olivia folded her hands across her chest, frowning “I want to know you! I want to not be the only one who’s putting things out there.”

“Fine,” he said, crossing the room and slammed his hand on the wall behind her. “You want to know what happened? I killed her!”

The gasp from her was exactly what he expected. Heart racing and breathing hard, he squeezed his eyes shut.

“We met during a job. She was involved and needed our help.” He looked away. “Needed my help.” Reed laughed bitterly. “Well that’s what she said.”

He pushed away for the wall and turned away. Emotion still choked him up.

“She and Neil were involved at some point. Niki said she’d cut ties with him, but Ryder warned me she hadn’t. I didn’t believe him. Didn’t want to think she would hurt me like that.”

Reed grasped the back of the couch and leaned forward. Small hands circled around his back and came around to his chest. He let out a sigh and enjoyed the feeling.

“Ryder and I were casing a place. We’d been working with Niki on getting information about Neil. The owner of the warehouse thought that Neil was up to no good, but there was no proof.” He sucked in a shaky breath. “He was right. Niki said there would be a shipment that night. When we walked in, we were ambushed. Niki was there…with him.”

“I’m sorry,” Olivia said quietly behind him.

He turned to look at her.

“When I came to, they were working Ryder over. The cut on his face is only a part of that day he has to live with.” He clenched a fist at his side. “She was right there watching with Neil. The woman I’d trusted over my brother had not just cheated but betrayed me in every way.”

Reed felt her hands grip his shirt hard, and he looked down at her. He was surprised to see anger lacing her beautiful features.

“When he threatened to kill me, she begged him not to,” he said, emotion clouding his voice. “He tossed her to the ground next to me, saying he was through with her. She hit her head on the hard concrete with a sickening thud.

“I could hear the crunch of gravel as the patrol cars filtered in. Kace and his men raced to us. Blood pooled around her on the floor. It was too late when they showed up.”

Olivia gasped. “Why didn’t they go to jail?”

“Neil rolled on some guys to avoid time, and the district attorney said the charge might not stick since it was an accident.”

He watched her as she thought over things and wondered when she’d walk out the door. No, this was not how he thought things would go tonight.

Olivia’s heart ached for Reed. He had put himself out there, and she hated that he’d been hurt by doing it. Love wasn’t supposed to be like that. She didn’t know exactly what love was, but it wasn’t what he’d been through.

Tilting her head back, she looked at his face. Strong in every way yet not able to stop the death of someone he loved. It explained so much about how he dealt with her. A lump caught in her throat as she thought about his reaction to her being in danger.

Olivia ran her hand up his chest and placed her hand over his heart. The strong, steady thump picked up as she looked into his eyes. Confusion flashed across his face, and Olivi
a nearly laughed at how things were turning out.

  “Love me,” she said quietly.

“What about…” he started but stopped when her finger shot out to cover his lips.

“Quit thinking so much,” she said. This time she did laugh this time at his surprised face.

Not waiting for him to follow, she turned to and went into the bedroom. Once there, she pulled the pins from her hair and slipped out of the barely there dress. It pooled on the floor. She stepped out easily. When she turned around she caught sight of herself in the mirror. Her hair curled softly around her face. The dark blue bra and panties only seemed to enhance the blue in her eyes. Flushed and soft, Olivia was shocked by how erotic it was.

She moaned when Reed came up behind her and slipped a hand down her stomach to the apex of her thighs and rested just above her panty line.

“Look at me,” he said in her ear.

Her eyes shot open as she looked at him in the mirror. He’s stripped from the t-shirt he wore previously. The crisp hairs on his chest abraded her back and sent shivers that went directly to her clit. His dark green eyes blazed with the same passion she was feeling inside. They were connected.

Watching her in the mirror, Reed leaned over and placed a few open-mouthed kisses on her neck and shoulder. She wiggled in his hold, but he held firmly to her. His fingers dipped slightly into her panties, brushing the hairs there.

“Please,” she moaned to him, bucking her hips forward in hopes he’d slip lower to where she wanted him.

“Please what?” He smiled at her in the mirror.

  “Touch me, Reed.”

She moaned when his fingers plunged through her panties and slipped past the folds of her pussy lips. Moisture coated him. She rocked against the delicious friction. When her clit bumped his finger, she shuddered and pushed back harder against him. Trying to get him where she needed him most.

Reed slowed the frenzied movement of his hand and she groaned in frustration.

“Lay down, Liv,” he whispered, unhooking her bra and dragging her panties down her legs.

More exposed that she had ever been, Olivia remembered the lights and glanced over to the switch.

“No way,” Reed growled out. “I want to see your face when I’m inside you.”

Her pussy clenched at the thought.

She sat on the bed. Olivia watched, hoping he’d undress but squeaked out some surprise as he sank down on the floor in front of her. A forceful hand pushed on her stomach and pressed her back against the bed. She gasped when he put her legs on his shoulders and leaned in to kiss her inner thighs.

The rasp of the growth on his face made her clit pulse with need. He teased her with open-mouthed kisses, drawing closer and closer to her aching heat. Stopping just short, Olivia could feel his short breaths hitting her like a wave.

His tongue snaked between her folds, and she moaned loudly as he stroked her clit, the gentle pressure building until she was desperate for release. She grabbed his hair when he pulled back and moaned when a chuckle vibrated on her clit.

  “Can’t wait anymore?”

Olivia sat up on her elbows and looked down at him.

“If you don’t do something…” she groaned as a thick finger slid deep inside.

He began pumping her. His teeth and tongue grazed her sensitive clit as the pressure began to build. When he slid a second finger in, she felt her insides flutter as she climaxed. Breathing hard, she relaxed as the world went back to normal.

Reed moved and placed her thighs back on the bed. She watched him lazily from the bed as he stripped off the rest of his clothes. She was glad he had kept the light on. Every ounce of him was solid male. Her nipples tightened at the sight of him.

She made her way off the bed, her legs slightly shaky from the previous orgasm.

He watched her apprehensively as she trailed a hand along his chest, and then behind his neck. Reaching on her tippy toes, she pulled him down for a searing kiss. She gasped when the broad head of his cock pressed against her clit. The probing of his tongue began to reflect the rocking of their hips.

Olivia reached between them and stroked him slowly, her small hand not quite able to reach all the way around. Reed pulled his mouth from hers and groaned loudly as she continued to stroke him.

She loved the feel of him in her hand and the sounds he made as she moved up and down. Never before had she felt so much control when with a man.

Reed pulled away quickly. “I’ve got to stop,” he said, placing a few more kisses against her mouth. When her eyes met his, she felt the pull once again.

“I want you inside me,” she said. Her voice was raw from emotion.

For a moment, she thought he might be reconsidering but squealed as he picked her up and tossed her on the bed.

She giggled nervously when he switched off the overhead light and turned on the bathroom. He shut the door, so just a sliver of light came in.

“I thought you wanted to see me,” she said playfully from the bed.

She heard a rustle from the drawer beside her head. The bed dipped and she was suddenly surrounded by him. His arms framed her face while he made room between her legs.

He stilled and looked her in the face. She could make out a few details, but much of it was lost in the darkness.

“I’m so close,” he said quietly. “If I see your face while I’m inside you, I’m not going to make it more than a few minutes.”

He leaned down and kissed along her collar, moving to the shoulder. She moaned when he rolled her aching nipple between her fingers.

“Yeah, I’m going to want more than a few minutes,” she said. Her breath hitched as his lips found her other nipple. The rumble from his laugh caused her hips to buck up and rub against his cock.

  “Reed,” she groaned. “Please.”

Lifting up he placed his mouth on her other nipple.

When he bit down gently, she felt her nails bite into the flesh on his arms.

“Reed,” she said more forcefully this time. “Fuck me.”

He pulled back to look her. His eyes blazing with the hunger she was feeling.

Reed sat back on his knees and tore the foil packet. Then he was back leaning over her. The head slipped against her throbbing clit. Her thighs slung slightly over his.

Reed placed a tender kiss on her lips as he pushed fully into her.

Olivia moaned as her body made room for him. He was larger than she expected and although it wasn’t painful, she felt filled in a way she never had. Reed adjusted his position causing the head to bump her cervix.

Olivia wrapped her legs around him to keep him still.

“Am I hurting you?” Concern was evident in his voice.

“No,” she said breathlessly. “It’s almost too good.”

As she said this her muscles fluttered around him.

“Oh, Liv, I can’t hold off much longer,” he said and pulled out slightly.

When he pushed back in, Olivia bowed to meet him, each time pulling out more and more until they were rocking hard against one another.

Reed reached under her with both hand and lifted her hips so he could slide unhindered into her.

  “More,” she whispered.

At her urging, he lost himself in the feel of her soft heat around him, slamming himself into her as deep as he could go, he reached down to rub her clit. He was so close he had to summon up all his will not to end before her.

“Cum, baby,” he said. He panted as his thumb on her clit became a flurry of motion.

Shouting her release, Olivia tensed in his arms. Her pussy clamped down on him milking his own release.

He lowered her back to the bed and framed himself over her once again. Breathing hard, he placed his forehead to hers and enjoyed the last flutter of her around his cock.

As their breathing slowed, he pulled from her slowly and got up to get rid of the condom. When he returned she was snuggled warmly under the covers. Reed sighed as he moved in next to her and pulle
d her small body into his own. Fighting exhaustion, he listened to her steady breath until sleep finally overcame him.

  Chapter Fourteen

It was hour before sunrise when Olivia woke. Wrapped in warmth, she hated to get up for the bathroom, but she was at the point of bursting. Easing out from under Reed proved to be more of a challenge than she expected. His big frame had her thoroughly cocooned . Slowly, she wiggled out from one of his massive arms and slid to the edge to swipe Reed’s t-shirt on the floor.

She raced from the bed to the bathroom. Once she had finished, she took a look in the mirror and blushed from the last time she’d been looking in a mirror.

She smiled at her very messy hair and slightly smudged makeup. Just a sign that she’d had a very good night. She brushed her hair and teeth. A few splashes of water on her face, and she was good as new. Or as good as she was going to get at four in the morning.

Drying her face, she thought about Niki. It was hard to hate a woman who was dead, but Olivia certainly didn’t like what she had done. Now it at least made sense why Ryder was so obsessed with knowing her background.

She wondered if Reed had loved Niki. It seemed like it, but maybe her death colored his actual feelings for the woman. Olivia sighed. Competing with a dead woman for a man’s heart could lead to trouble. There was no way she could win over a memory.

Olivia switched the light off and raced back to the bed. When she climbed in, two large arms circled her. She squealed as Reed hauled her back against his warm body.

“Can’t sleep?” He nuzzled her neck and yanked his shirt up over her head.

“Just needed the restroom,” she said through the shirt.

Reed sighed in her hair when they were once again skin to skin. One massive hand spanned her stomach while the other massaged her breast in light caresses.

She pushed her ass back and found him hard and wanting.

“Can’t sleep?” she asked, surprised by her husky voice.
