Reapers and Angels

  “After a few years passed, you changed and I did not see you as much. You started taking your job seriously and although young reapers were still not getting everything they needed from you they got more than I expected.’

  “I watched you one time while you taught your class and although you taught much different than I did with some of the most flamboyant outfits I had ever seen, you were an excellent instructor.’

  “Eventually you gave up on being so into yourself and grew up I guess. You stopped chasing me and started chasing others. You did not throw yourself at people, well except for Sebastian and you seemed to take things much more seriously. I found myself slowly becoming more attracted to this new you.’

  “Problem was there was no more overtime, there was no more time for me to complain about you. You were becoming everything you should have been. I realized then I kind of missed the old you. I missed the man throwing himself shamelessly at me and I felt jealous of your suitors.’

  “Part of me wanted to be as wild as you, it really did. When I saw how much fun you and Ronald were having at reaping I found I missed that part of the job. I found I missed you though the most.’

  “It wasn’t until you confronted me that I realized I was about to make the biggest mistake in my life and let you slip out of my fingers. I wanted to hit you that day, but instead I kissed you and I haven’t been able to stop kissing you Kingsly.’

  “The only thing I really hated about you and still have issues with is when you become too into yourself you forget others. You are getting so much better at that though and when you are with me I feel like the luckiest man alive.”

  Kingsly sighed wondering if he could ever fully change. Kingsly loved himself to the point he was his own religion, but he also hated parts of himself. Mainly he hated how he could forget William’s feelings some days. Kingsly knew that he would change anything for William just for William to love him. If that meant he had to give up some things, he would.

  “William, I always loved you. At first, I hated that I was stuck with someone who was below me in grade, but when you fought with me and beat me I felt something I never felt before in my life. I felt like I was free and alive. I felt such love for you and I never stopped that love.’

  “I like Bassy for his good looks, but the man only intrigued me because I couldn’t kill him and I did try. If he had been human, he would have been dead. I did cut through him before he beat me and tried to kill me. I don’t know what it is about men who can kill me or beat me, but I love them.’

  “Even with Bassy, I did not love him like I loved you William. I adored you and any time you were near I wanted nothing more than to be with you. I never told you, but you know why those women left you don’t you?”

  Kingsly asked and William looked up at Kingsly in confusion.

  “I told them I wasn’t interested Kingsly. I left them. They were mediocre at best.”

  William said and Kingsly chuckled.

  “I am glad they were since I told them they had better not lay a paw on my William. I told them if they ever gave you more pleasure than I could I would tear them apart with my scythe.’

  “Also, when you broke up with them I set them up with some of your friends to keep them away from you. I wanted you for myself and I wasn’t going to deal with competition.”

  Kingsly said with a wicked smile. William’s mouth dropped and he was a bit pissed off. No wonder he had no one to compare to.

  “Kingsly that is underhanded and wrong! I cannot believe you would do that…….”

  William started to say and then he palmed his head with his hand realizing this was Kingsly he was talking to. Of course, Kingsly would fuck up his love life. When Kingsly wanted something, it was a given he would get it.

  “William, I don’t put up with competition. I told you that once and you did not believe me. I warned you that you were mine and if anyone so much as laid a hand on you I would rend them limb from limb. Did you forget that or are you simply surprised?”

  Kingsly asked as he sipped his wine and waited for William to either blow up at him or kiss him. Either way it was going to be fun.

  “So, you had your grand affairs and left me to deal with timid women who were terrified of you so they gave me lousy sex. Well, I really appreciate that Kingsly. Perhaps you can finish dinner by yourself.”

  William said angrily as he went to leave only for Kingsly to grasp him pulling him back down.

  “Sit your ass back down William! If those women were so worthy of you they wouldn’t let me get in their way! Half of them dated you because they wanted you for your career! You never heard the cruel things they said about you behind your back! I did which is why Judy has a scar on her face that won’t heal!’

  “I wasn’t having the time of my life either! I was miserable, but you wouldn’t come around and I was tired of being alone! My first time with a lover I screamed your name at the top of my lungs when I came for the first time and it was mediocre at best! All of them were! They left me because of my obsession with you!’

  “The only female that had been worthy of you or so I thought I left alone because I loved you that much! I wanted you to be happy! Ruth was a bitch though and she was using you! Her death was no accident William! I tore her apart and I don’t regret it!’

  “I don’t know how many days I had to spend in that cell for killing her, but when I told the Grim Reaper about what she was going to do to you I lost all sense of reason! You do not know how to pick them!’

  “A god damn woman was not going to give you the love you deserved! They were all users and pieces of shit! They wanted you for one thing and that was to move up the corporate ladder or to look good on your arm! Not one of them loved you as I do! Not a single one!’

  “They said you were too cold for anyone to love, but they did not know you like I did! They did not deserve you! If you leave me fine! But you will know the truth William! I always loved you and still do! Those women who said they loved you lied to your face! They loved themselves more than I love myself and you know for a fact how much I love myself!’

  “So, go William! Leave me like everyone else! But when you are in your bed alone with some woman you think loves you, you will find out how big of mistake you made by leaving me! No woman will love you like I do!”

  Kingsly sobbed out as he fell to his chair as the restaurant people all looked in their direction. William was slightly embarrassed since he hadn’t meant to cause a scene. He was pissed off, but not so much at Kingsly anymore.

  William sat down trying to ignore the people staring at them. Kingsly was sobbing like a baby as his mascara ran a bit, but he didn’t care. If William wanted to leave he would let him, he loved him too much to torment him with his presence.

  “Kingsly, I did not want to fight with you on our wedding night. I am sorry I doubted you. I did not know why Ruth died other than the rumors I heard and I did not love her. I was actually going to break things off with her since it wasn’t working out for me.’

  “When I found out she died and you had killed her I was furious with you. It meant more work for me, but I did not know you did it for me. What did Ruth do or say that was so bad that you would kill her?”

  William asked as he held Kingsly’s hand who was still sobbing trying to get himself back in control. Everyone at the restaurant waited for what Kingsly had to say.

  “She said she wanted you for your career and that you were a lousy lover that was so cold hearted that you were probably still a virgin and most likely gay. She was going to tell the whole office you were gay and everything secret you had told her about you personally she was going to tell everyone! I don’t know what those secrets were William, but I did not care!’

  “I knew at the time you were not gay and I knew how important your image was to you. I couldn’t let her hurt you! I did not give her time to spurt out anything else negative about you. I learned that spell you have on your scythe to kill a reaper and that night I found her get
ting things together to ruin your life. I burned everything of hers not reading any of it so I don’t know the secrets she was going to reveal, but they are gone now. They are burnt and I killed her slowly. I made her death legendary.’

  “The Grim Reaper pleaded insanity for my case which was partially true. I did go insane for a while. After killing Ruth, I found myself in the arms of Justin who claimed his undying love for me for about a year. I thought I was over you William, but I wasn’t. I claimed my love for him eventually, but fact was I did not love him like I loved you. He used me so badly.’

  “That is when everyone at work started hearing those rumors about me being unable to perform in bed. He called me impotent and I couldn’t kill him because of the Ruth incident. He said such horrible things about me, but I figured it must be true then. I must be defective. If I couldn’t even get you to love me, what good was I?’

  “That was when I changed. I decided if I couldn’t have love I would do as you did and love my career. I got a new suit and started teaching. I became everything I thought you would love although I had given up hope you would ever see me as more than a nuisance. I dated still, but because of that rumor I did not sleep with any of them. I didn’t want to be hurt again.’

  “That was when you came and told me to be more serious about my reaping. I did so and I was confused why you would reprimand me for something I was already doing. I was so angry with you. I had almost lost everything because of you and you stood there all smug thinking I was not being serious.’

  “I wanted to smack you and tell you what an asshole I thought you were. I wanted to say you were cold hearted, but I could not. Instead I finally said what was on my mind. I wouldn’t let my career turn me into a lonely old man. I would find love again, but I figured that you would never change so I was ready to give up on you. Then you kissed me and I hated you for it.’

  “I hated you for kissing me and making me think you might love me even a little. I had to smack you. I had to. You have no clue how much I have given up for you! How much I wanted you to kiss me so many times I lost count!”

  Kingsly sobbed out since his heart was breaking.

  “I would have given my life for you William! I can’t pretend I am some nice person who won’t stop at anything to get what I love because fact is I would do anything for you! I have done everything I can possibly think of for you!’

  “So, go ahead and go! You are married to a lunatic who cannot control anything especially my heart! I killed people, maimed people because I loved you too much to allow them to hurt you! I am a bad person William…….”

  William came around the table gripping Kingsly’s hands and pulling Kingsly into his arms.

  “You are not a bad person Kingsly. I love you. I love you so much. I was angry, but I did not know what you have done for me. I love you more than ever and I am sorry I was so cold to you. I am sorry you were hurt by people.’

  “You know I never did believe any of those rumors Justin sprouted out and those secrets that Ruth had, were nothing. I did not tell her anything important and so what if everyone thought I was gay. I don’t care. I am above rumors and so are you.’

  “You really did not think I can handle myself, silly woman. I am a big boy and you do not need to save me my love. I appreciate that you have, but I don’t need it. However, know that Justin did not get away with his crap.’

  “I put Justin in the mail room for the rest of his career. He shouldn’t have hurt you. You are not the only one who cares. I saw what he did to you and I fixed him good. That was way before I confessed my love for you my dearest.”

  Kingsly grasped William in his arms holding him. People then went back to their conversations shaking their heads at the two reapers seeing this all as drama that was probably made up since none of the humans had ever heard of anyone getting off from killing someone because of a rumor.

  Kingsly ignored everyone and held his dearest love. His mascara was probably a complete mess and he for once did not care about his appearance. He just wanted William to love him forever and always.

  “I am still not sorry I killed Ruth, William. I am not sorry for hurting those women.”

  Kingsly said as he started to calm down.

  “I know you are not. I am just glad I am on your good side.”

  William said with a smile as he gave Kingsly a tissue for his eyes.

  “Oh, William I am such a mess now.”

  Kingsly sobbed out as he grasped his compact mirror trying to fix his makeup.

  “I am sure you can go to the bathroom to take care of that. I believe there is a women’s room in the back. Just don’t be long darling.”

  William stated as Kingsly nodded taking his purse with him to the restroom where he cleaned his face a bit and reapplied his makeup. A woman came in and sneered at him.

  “Was that display really worth it? I mean this is a nice restaurant! You and your boyfriend need to take your acting lessons somewhere else!”

  She sneered out as Kingsly fumed. He did not have to put up with this shit. Pulling out his scythe Kingsly looked murder at the woman who freaked out running into a corner of the bathroom as Kingsly approached her.

  “I am a grim reaper so you better be damn careful what you say to me!”

  Kingsly fumed as he went to murder this bitch only to stop himself since he was dressed rather nice and did not want blood on his dress. Still he cut into the woman’s shoulder a bit to prove this was not a game as one life record came out.

  “I am giving you your life so be grateful bitch!”

  The woman saw her life pass before her eyes in the reaper’s phosphorescent eyes.

  “You weren’t lying at the table, were you? You really killed a woman!”

  The woman cried shrilly.

  “Yes, I did! I killed lots of women! I was like Jack the Ripper at one point! Don’t get me started lady since once I do you will wish to god I had stopped!”

  Kingsly snarled out as he then sat up laughing manically before looking at his reflection in the mirror.

  “Now I have a dinner date waiting for me and I plan on looking fabulous. If you even mention anything we talked about in here, consider your life over.”

  Kingsly said as he adjusted his lipstick in the mirror and walked out leaving the terrified woman alone in the bathroom as he put his death scythe away in his purse. No one pissed him off like that.

  When Kingsly came back to the table, William was holding his head down with one hand completely embarrassed since he had heard everything in the bathroom from where he was sitting. People were of course ignoring all this, but William sometimes couldn’t believe his wife. Then again, the woman in the bathroom was still alive so that was one good thing for Kingsly.

  “Sorry I took so long dear. I had to deal with a problem.”

  Kingsly said and checked his hair one more time in his compact mirror.

  “Maybe tomorrow we will go someplace else to eat.”

  William said trying to keep the blush off his face. He was so embarrassed and he did not know that coming here was going to be such a problem. He really did not mean to cause a scene and now that woman in the bathroom needed to be dealt with. They would need a cleanup crew out here for damage control.

  Picking up his cell phone, William called Ronald and told him the issues they were having. First thing Ronald did was start laughing his ass off saying an ‘I told you so’ to William. Kingsly couldn’t go anywhere without causing a scene, it was impossible.

  “Ronald, I need your services right now not your advice.”

  William said over the phone and Ronald just said he would send the team. There were some cleanup crews in the area as it was.

  Both William’s and Kingsly’s dinners were brought to the table with Kingsly’s eyes going wide at the delicious smells of food. The one thing William could count on with Kingsly was the man would eat his food like a woman. Daintily cutting the food down to small bite sized pieces.

  “William this
is so good. Thank you for bringing me here.”

  Kingsly gushed as he took a bite of his shrimp then sipped his wine. The two ate dinner in silence and then William hoped to take Kingsly for a drive up the beach to a secluded area where they could make love.

  Driving up the road quite a way, the two finally found an empty beach where the waves came up, but it still could be seen by the road. However, traffic wasn’t too bad and it was late so perhaps William figured he could find a spot that wasn’t so well lit.

  William took off his shoes and socks having Kingsly take off his shoes as well as they walked along the sand hand in hand. The water came up kissing their bare toes since Kingsly took off his stockings and laughed a bit as the water seemed to chase them along the beach.

  Kingsly looked so beautiful in the moonlight and William felt so good about tonight. He wanted this to be perfect so he led Kingsly over to a spot a bit further away from the main road. There he pulled Kingsly down to sit with him.

  “You are so beautiful tonight. I like your hair up like this.”

  William said as he kissed Kingsly who kissed him back. Soon the two were kissing so passionately nothing else seemed to matter. They fell to the beach floor and William moved over Kingsly and kissed him then devoured that long gorgeous neck.
