"Maple syrup." His lover moaned, fingers sliding through his hair. "How's Lesley doing? Still Super Secretary?"

"Lesley got fired four days after you left." If she'd kept her stupid mouth shut about T, she'd have still been working for him. "Helen's the new Super Secretary." And she never once mentioned his private life, even when she had to do things for it. Smart woman. "But why are we talking about my secretaries?"

"I haven't the foggiest." Thaine rubbed, tongue sliding over his bottom lip.

"In fact I'm not sure why we're even in the kitchen." He grinned and started walking backward, bringing Thaine with him.

"Pancakes." Thaine went easy, moving along with a hop and a limp.

He stopped, raised an eyebrow. "We could stop and eat pancakes. Or we could go to bed and eat each other. Your choice."

"We can go to IHOP later."

He laughed. "Yeah, T. We can."

Jerry walked across the hall and to the left, leaving kisses on Thaine's face with every step, rewarding every successful move. The bedroom hadn't changed since Thaine'd left. It was still dark, black shot through with gold and silver and bronze.

"Mmm. Our bed." Thaine's smile widened. "No more hospital."

"Yeah. Our bed." And fuck, didn't that sound good? Almost as good as the look in those eyes. He grinned. "No more hospital but you were only released today -- I think you should lie down."

"Do you now?" Thaine's fingers started working on his buttons.

"I do. I wouldn't want to be accused of not taking care of you." He returned the favor, working Thaine's clothes off, slowly but surely. Thaine was still bruised as hell, but damn, five years hadn't faded that strength at all. "Beautiful fucking man." He let his gaze move head to foot and back up again, admiring. "You make me want. God, nobody has ever made me want like you do."

"Good. You're my one true thing." Shit, he hadn't heard that in too long.

  "Thank you, baby."

He pushed his lips against Thaine's, would have pushed the man right back onto the bed and followed him down, but figured Thaine was too soon out of the hospital for that. He stepped them right over to the bed though, tongue tangling with Thaine's.

Thaine sat on the bed, casted leg stuck out, drawing him down against him, hands warm on his back. He hummed, his own hands finding Thaine's skin, stroking across the little hairs on Thaine's chest. Thaine's nipples drew up, tight and hard. Oh, he did love the way Thaine's body begged for every touch. He'd missed that, missed having someone who wanted him as hard as Thaine wanted him. Of course he didn't have to miss it anymore.

He pushed Thaine back to lie on the bed, fingers passing lightly over those sweet little bits of flesh.

"JJ..." Thaine arched, groaning low, belly tight as a board.

"Right here. Gonna love you all over."

He shifted, tugging on Thaine, encouraging the man on up into the middle of the big bed. He was going to explore and reacquaint himself with every fucking inch. Thaine stretched right out, legs spread, all those muscles offered over to him. The sweet cock was hard and dark, leaking for him.

"So fucking sexy. God, look at this." His fingers slid over a six-packed belly, one ridge of muscles after another.

"Just an old cowboy." Thaine moaned, fingers tracing his shoulders.

Jerry chuckled. It was an insult he'd hurled more than once at Thaine. It was also the truth, but it wasn't really an insult, not one little bit. Thaine's skin was hot to the touch, muscles giving it amazing definition. And the scars. There was something sexy about a man who could tell the tale of his life in the lines on his skin. There were some new ones and Jerry let his fingers explore them, learn them.

  "A sexy old cowboy."

  "Mmm. Your sexy old cowboy."

He chuckled. "Yeah. That's right. Mine." He slid his hand down and grabbed Thaine's cock. "Mine."

"Yours." Oh, look at that man arch, the left side going higher than the right as the cast interfered.

He leaned in to lick at the skin beneath Thaine's ear, then nibbled the lobe. "I want to fuck you, T. I know it's just like yesterday for you, but I haven't fucked you in five long years."

"Want you. Now. Want to feel you." Thaine nodded, moaned for him. "Come on. Please."

He shook his head. "I think this falls under the heading of strenuous activity." But he could take it slow, nice and easy. “Of course they didn't want us to leave, either."

  "We'll be fine. I'm a big boy."

"Mmmm. You sure are, T." He pumped Thaine's cock a few times, grinning into those crease lined eyes.

Bending, he brought their mouths together, sliding his tongue deep. Thaine moaned right into his lips, one leg wrapping around his thigh and drawing them closer together. He rubbed his cock against Thaine's, rocking them together.

  "So fucking hot, T."

  "Burning up. Need you."

"I'm right here, T. But I don't want to put out your fire." Stretching, he reached into the side table drawer for the lube. "It's gonna be amazing."

  "It always is."

"Yeah, yeah, T. Always." It hadn't been amazing for him for five years. Not since he last had this man in his bed. Groaning, he pushed his hand between Thaine's legs, fingers skating over Thaine's hole.

"Mmmhmm. Just like that." Thaine moaned, body reaching for his touch.

"Like this?" he asked, sliding his finger over Thaine's hole again. "Or like this?" He pushed the tip inside, groaning at how tight Thaine was.

"Oh. That. Good. Please." Thaine's hips rolled, moving against his touch.

"Yeah, I thought so." He slicked up his finger and then slid it back into Thaine, pushing it in to the second knuckle. Thaine was so fucking hot and tight and his cock throbbed in anticipation. He leaned in and licked at one of Thaine's nipples, started nibbling.

"Your mouth. Fuck, yes. So hot." Thaine's hands tangled in his hair, held him close.

Jerry hummed, opening his mouth wide around Thaine's nipple, using his tongue to tease and lick. He slid a second finger in, stretching him out. Thaine arched, good knee drawing up, exposing more and more to his sight, his touch. The man just gave it up all up to him, and that was the sexiest thing of all. Jerry shifted his fingers, searching, looking to send Thaine flying.

"Want you. Need you. Fuck, it's good." When he hit Thaine's prostate, the man groaned, shoulders rolling.

"You'll have me. I'm gonna fuck you nice and slow. Take all night long, T." He pegged that gland again, taking Thaine's cock into his mouth at the same time.

"Oh, sweet fuck. Love you. Jerry. More."

A shiver went down his spine at the words. He'd never thought he'd hear them in this room again. Especially not from this man.

He bobbed his head, mouth sliding along Thaine's heat. His cowboy twisted, bucking, hips rolling, words of need and love just pouring out of him. Jerry pushed in a third finger, eager to bring Thaine off. The man would be looser if he'd come, more relaxed.

Thaine's good foot pushed into the mattress, cock throbbing, swelling in his lips. Yeah, that's what he was talking about. He sucked harder, fingers finding that gland and working it hard. His name filled the air, sharp and needy, Thaine's come filling his mouth. Salt and bitter, and Thaine. The perfect combination.

Moaning, he swallowed it down and then carefully cleaned that pretty prick, fingers turning and twisting, looking to keep Thaine hard.

"Oh, God. You're gonna kill me lover. I swear."

He slowly pulled up off Thaine's prick and grinned. "You'll die with a huge grin on your face though." He moved his fingers again, stretching Thaine wide.

Thaine reached for him, grinning. "It's time, Jerry. Now."

"Hallefuckingluia!" He grinned right back, settling in between Thaine's legs.

Taking one, he put it up over his shoulder, letting the other one lie across his thigh, spreading Thaine open without putting too much pressure on the man's middle. He got his cock pushed up against Thaine's hole and just held there for a moment, just taking it all in. He
pushed in, moving slowly, surely, filling Thaine up.

Sweet Christ, that smile he got. That was enough to cure all his ills. He stayed right there, buried in the tight, beautiful heat, looking down at Thaine. Just staring into those bright eyes.

"Feels fine." Thaine reached up, stroked his face.

"Feels like fucking heaven, T. Fucking heaven." He nuzzled into the touch and started to move, just slowly, moaning at the feeling.

Too long. It had been too long since he'd felt this, felt T tight around him, wanting him. He shook his head and bit his bottom lip. He wasn't going to be able to hold back. With a whimper, he thrust in hard.

"That's it. Fuck me like you mean it." No shrinking violet, his T.

Figuring his rough-and-ready lover wasn't so lust-addled he wouldn't say anything if it got too rough for his injuries, Jerry fucked Thaine like he meant it. He fucked Thaine like he wanted to: long thrusts, a quick pace. It was hard and fierce and five years in the making.

"Yeah. Yeah, JJ. Oh..." Thaine's eyes rolled, ass tight as a fist around him.

He grunted, beyond words at this point, beyond anything but feeling how fucking good it was, how fucking tight and hot and just what he needed. He got one hand wrapped around Thaine's cock, his hips and hand working together.

"Love..." Thaine reached up, dragged him down for a fierce kiss.

Jerry met the kiss head on, tongue tangling with Thaine's. His hips kept snapping, his hand kept tugging and it pushed everything else away. There was only cocks and ass and hands, mouths, heat and pleasure. Thaine just gave it up for him, spunk pouring over his hand, muscles milking his cock.

"Baby!" He shouted out, hips jerking as Thaine's body pulled his come right out of him, the pleasure making him feel like his head was going to blow right off.

His hips kept moving, his body shuddering with aftershocks. Thaine's hands stroked his head, his shoulders, holding on. He shifted enough to get Thaine's leg down off his shoulder, and then settled down carefully, most of his weight held up on his arms.

He slid one soft kiss after another on Thaine's lips, the touches making him practically arch and purr like a cat. Thaine moaned into his lips, all melted and boneless, blinking sweet and slow. He rested against the man until his arms started to give out and then he shifted again, sliding out and moving to lie next to his lover.

He pulled Thaine into his arms. "I'm glad you're here, T."

Thaine snuggled in, the hard muscles solid and hot against him. "'s good to be home."

  "Yeah. Where you belong."

And if Thaine changed his mind about that once he remembered the last five years, well Jerry would deal with that when it happened.

  Chapter Twelve

There was nothing like good, honest hard work to cure a man of what ailed him. And if Drew wasn't exactly cured of his love for Thaine and the hurt of being entirely forgotten by the man, at least he was too busy to think on it too much. And he mostly fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, utterly exhausted.

He wanted to make himself as useful as possibly because Jesse was really helping him out here, taking him in when he had nowhere to go. And this was work he enjoyed, work he loved, really. And Jesse was a good man, good to work for, too. It was the ideal job.

And if he worked hard enough, he didn't have time to think about Thaine and how the man must have not loved him all that much to be able to just wipe him out of his memory like that.

And if he worked even harder, he wouldn't notice the way Jesse moved, the tall body oddly graceful, hands capable and strong, well-lived.

Drew finished up a bunch of morning chores and headed in for breakfast, knowing Jesse would have it ready, just like he had for the last week. A whole week he'd been here, a week without a word from Thaine. Not a single call. Not a "I finally remember", not even a how do you do.

He'd spent the first few days jumping every time the phone rang, but now he wasn't expecting it. Somewhere deep inside he knew Thaine wasn’t ever coming for him. He pushed the thought away and the pang that came with it and took his gloves and boots off on the porch, and headed in.

  "Morning," he called.

"Mornin' glory." He got a warm grin, a wink. "Biscuits and gravy. You sleep good?"

  "Oh, yum."

Jesse was damned handy in the kitchen. The food was always filling, good.

"Yeah, I did. Like a log." He grinned back and went over to the coffee maker. "You want a cup?"

"You know it. Warm me up." Jesse stretched. "It's a pretty damn day."

Drew nodded, eyes on the patch of skin revealed as Jesse's shirt rode up. His body tightened a little, belly warm like he'd already drunk some of his coffee. He cleared his throat and nodded, turning to pour out two mugs. "It is. Warm already."

"Good deal. You up to going fishing? Take a look at them bulls in the back forty?"

"Oh, that sounds great! I haven't gone fishing since..." Not since he'd gone out in the beat up old metal boat with his father the day he'd come out to his folks. "Not for a long time."

"Yeah? Let's go." Jesse's shoulder bumped his. "This time it'll just be all good, yeah? Won't be something to make you stop and think."

"Yeah, that sounds really good, Jesse." He nodded and smiled, shoulder warm where Jesse'd bumped him.

He brought their coffee to the table and grabbed a couple of biscuits.

"I'll make us up some sandwiches and stuff. We can ride out, make a day of it."

He nodded, amazed at how good that sounded after the long week of working his butt off, even if that had been his choice. "Sun, water, fishing. That sounds really good, Jesse." The company sounded really good, too. He couldn't think of anyone he'd rather go fishing with -- Thaine had never had the patience for it.

"Yeah. Hell, yeah." Jesse grinned wide, sort of bouncing a little. "I'll get the sunscreen."

"What're we going to use for bait?" he asked, wolfing down the first biscuit and starting in on the second one.

"I got some bloodworms yesterday when I ran up to the feed store."

"Oh yeah? Cool." He smiled over at Jesse. So the man'd planned this. That warm feeling was back in his belly, though this time he could blame it on the coffee and biscuits. "We've got some beer at the back of the fridge I think. And I know there's ice in the freezer. Where's your cooler?"

"That little foam one's in the top shelf in the shed."

"Great, I'll get it. Oh, we have some of that pulled pork left, don't we? And barbeque sauce? They'd make great sandwiches." And he knew they had apples left, too. He made short work of his second and then third biscuit, and drank his coffee down quickly, eager now to get going and enjoy the day.

"We do, yeah. Some pickles and onions, too." Jesse grinned at him, eyes warm. "Let's go play, buddy."

He returned the grin, not sure which had him happier, the company or the fact that he was actually looking forward to something as much as he was this outing. "You got it."

They worked together well, him getting the cooler and filing it with ice and beer, adding in a couple of little pots of pudding he found at the back of the cupboard, and a couple of cans of Coke, just in case they got tired of beer. Or ran out.

Jesse made the sandwiches and threw in the pot of leftover store-bought coleslaw they'd had the other day, and Drew found the apples, rescuing the three good ones and tossing the other two out, they were that black and soft.

He bent to get into the crisper, pulling out the bag of carrots and a couple of plums. "There. We've got enough to feed a dozen fishermen now."

"Nope. Just you and me. This isn't an open invitation." Jesse chuckled. "Man's got to protect his fishin' hole."

"Your secret's safe with me, Jesse." He smiled, looking up into those eyes. "And I appreciate the invite."

"Anytime. My house is yours." The words seemed... true.

"Thanks." He bumped their shoulders together again and nodded at the cooler. "Well, I think we're all set. We taking the truck out to this secret fishing hole of yours
?"

"The old Chevy, yeah. The boat trailer's hooked up to it."

"Cool. Let's go." He grabbed the cooler and headed out, face lifting to the sun. What a great day.

Jesse grabbed a boom box and a straw hat, whistling away, just happy as a lark. Drew put the cooler in the back and climbed up into the truck, eyes on Jesse, just watching the man move. There was something about Jesse that made him happy.
