With a smile appearing on his face, he opened the door to let Mindy in. “Hey. Come on in.” He said opening the door all the way.
Mindy smiled and passed by Brandon taking in the view of his room and the decor, which was much different than her basic room. She especially loved the way the doors opened up completely to the lanai which overlooked palm trees, the beach and the ocean in clear view.
“You definitely got the better room I’d say,” she said laughing softly.
He laughed along with her. “What - they’re not all like this?”
“Definitely not!” She followed him as he led her to the patio. “But then again my room was free so I can’t complain.”
“Please, have a seat.” He pulled the chair out a bit for her to be able to sit comfortably then sat across from her. “But you forget I do know the head Chef.” He smiled as he popped the cork and poured Mindy’s wine and then his own.
Grabbing her glass and lifting it up as if to toast. “To new friends and making memories.”
As she gleamed at Brandon, he clinked his glass to hers and immediately felt a tingle. “Definitely! Hopefully more memories than we can count.” He gave her that soft, caring smile of hope she hadn’t realized until then she wanted to see as both of them sipped their wine.
They sat back in their chairs, that Brandon had positioned about a foot and a half from each other facing the beach, and breathed in the fresh ocean air. Taking another sip of her wine, Mindy turned towards Brandon. “So tell me about your family.”
“Well . . . my parents divorced when I was a teenager and my mom pretty much raised me and my two sisters. My dad was there off and on when it was convenient for him, though he’s gotten better at keeping in touch now that we’re all grown with our own families.” Sipping his wine he continued. “Mom was all about stability and making sure we had a normal, full childhood. - She’s the rock that held our family together through the divorce and our teenage years. She kept us involved with various activities to keep us out of trouble.”
“Do they all live in California?”
“They do. Mom remarried about five years ago to a really cool guy named Logan. They live in Malibu. - My dad lives in Santa Barbara. He’s had several girlfriends since the divorce but nothing serious. He can be a bit controlling at times. - My sisters are both married and live in Santa Monica. We’re actually a pretty close family thanks to mom. She has regular get togethers to keep us all in touch. And if you don’t show up, you better have one hell of an excuse!” He laughed.
“That’s awesome. I’ve learned over the years that family is everything. No matter who comes and goes in your life, family is usually there for you through the hard times as well as the good.” Mindy smiled at him.
Smiling back at her, “So how about your family? Where do they live?”
“My parents live in Celebration, Florida. Not too far from me. They met when mom was in her final year of college and got married right after she graduated. They’ve been happily married ever since. - I have a younger brother in the Air Force. He just re-enlisted. He’s thinking of making a career out of it. Thankfully, we all get along good and try to stay in touch. My mom’s sister, aunt Julie also lives in Celebration. She’s an awesome aunt. Her and mom are very close.”
She took another sip of wine and sat her glass down on the table crossing her legs before continuing. “My mom has family dinner every two weeks so we can all stay in touch, despite our busy lives. It was always important to her when we were growing up that we had our family traditions so she’s been pretty adamant about keeping them up. My brother takes leave when he can to spend a little time with us too, especially near the holidays.”
Brandon poured Mindy another glass of wine. “Your family sounds pretty great. I’m sure you’re all proud of your brother for helping protect our country. That’s a very brave and admirable thing to do, especially these days.”
“Thank you for saying that.” Mindy sipped her wine. “Of course, we all worry about him but the pride we feel in his decision gives us some comfort. He’s got a good head on his shoulders and can damn well shoot a gun. He used to hunt with my dad growing up and he rarely missed his target.” Mindy shivered a bit as the wind started blowing a little more.
He looked over at her. “Do you want to go inside and sit on the couch? Or I can get you a blanket to put around you - or maybe one of my jackets?”
“Do you mind if we head inside? My feet are actually a bit chilly too. I didn’t realize it would get this cool out or I would’ve dressed differently.”
Brandon got up, grabbed the bottle, his glass and looked her body over with a sexy smile. “I like what you’re wearing.” He stood up the rest of the way waiting for her to stand.
She smiled back at him, stood up and headed inside with Brandon right behind her. She walked over to the couch and sat on one side turning slightly inward as she waited to see where he was going to sit.
Brandon sat the wine bottle on the coffee table in front of the couch before sitting next to Mindy, instantly feeling the heat between them. “Is this OK?” He asked looking at her eyes.
“Definitely.” She looked at her glass and took another sip. Damn it. She didn’t mean to say that. Why can’t she control her mouth around him?
Brandon took another sip of his wine, lifted Mindy’s glass out of her hand sitting them both on the table. He sat back again turning a little more towards her and putting his left arm on the back of the couch, almost touching her shoulder. He looked intently in her eyes when he slowly leaned in a bit, building the anticipation.
Not breaking eye contact when the heat started to intensify, they looked at each other until Brandon leaned in more closing his eyes as Mindy closed hers. His lips gently brushed hers and the electricity sparked through both of them. He pressed his lips to hers kissing harder, more passionately as his upper body leaned in even more.
Before she knew it, both of Brandon’s hands were framing her face, pulling her into him so he could deepen the kiss even more. She couldn’t help but put her hands on his muscular chest, rubbing them along his pecs before moving around to his back. She needed to touch him. Her body wanted to be closer while her senses were going crazy with anticipation.
Brandon excited her more than she remembered being excited by a man. She couldn’t seem to get enough of him. She felt so good, both inside and out, and so at peace around him despite the short time they’ve known each other. She knew it was pretty strange but she couldn’t deny the way she was feeling. - She felt nothing but sparks with him. Sparks that seemed to rock her to the core.
Brandon knew he could kiss Mindy for hours but his body was wanting more. He needed to be closer to her and the only way to satisfy the need was to peel her clothes off. He wanted to see every inch of her body, starting with her ample breasts then slowly make his way down her body. That is if he didn’t explode before he made it all the way.
The excitement building in him was unlike no other. He was in unchartered territory because he’s never felt this out of control with any woman. It was driving him crazy trying to hold it together.
When Mindy’s hands and arms reached his back, she knew she wanted his body touching her so she eased back onto the couch pulling him with her so he landed on top of her, repositioning in the process. Rolling over her right leg to be more comfortable, he landed between her legs as his tongue explored her mouth deeper. She had to fight to keep her excitement under control or she may have an orgasm long before she wanted to.
He lightened the kiss just enough to tease her tongue. He slowly started sucking the tip of it, pulling it deeper in his mouth then easing up. He did it several times and it seemed to be driving her even more crazy, which was exactly what he wanted to do. Mindy’s hands seductively rubbing up and down his back was taking it’s toll on his self control.
Grabbing his shirt, she started pulling it up until it was at his shoulders. He stopped kissing her and looked in her eyes trying to hide his gr
in and excitement. He wanted to make sure he was reading her right. When he saw the need to continue in her eyes, he knew she wanted him as much as he wanted her.
Brandon ducked his head a bit so she could pull his shirt over it. Mindy pulled it off and flung it on the table. He kissed her teasingly again. “We'll have more room on the bed.” He said as he kissed his way down her neck and over to her earlobe.
“I agree.” She whispered in his ear, which gave him goosebumps. But before she could move, he slid his arms under her and picked Mindy up as she put her arms around his neck. He kissed her while he carried her and gently laid her down before climbing half on top, gazing at her beautiful face.
Mindy wanted her hands on him again. He felt so good. Holding his gaze, she lifted her left arm up to Brandon’s chest stroking it slowly as her right arm went behind him with the left arm following. She pulled him down on top of her chest pressing her lips passionately to his. She was ready to end two long years of celibacy.
After that ravenous kiss ended, Brandon started kissing his way down her throat, across to her left ear then to her right before licking and kissing his way to Mindy’s upper chest. He licked the top of her breasts which were exposed by the cut-out of her shirt. His right hand moved from the bed next to her, up her left side and under her shirt. As his hand slid up higher and higher, he couldn’t take his eyes off her face. He wanted to watch her when he touched her and massaged her breast with his hand. He needed to see how he made her feel. He was hoping she felt half as good as he did when he touched her.
Mindy let out a soft moan when his large, masculine hand grabbed her right breast and made it’s way inside her sports bra to touch her bare skin. He pulled her bra below her breast causing it to stand firmly in the air. He fingered her nipple with his thumb, cupping her with the rest of his hand. God it was as beautiful as her face was. He had to taste her so he leaned down and kissed all around her breast, using his tongue to heighten her senses.
Brandon was so damn aroused it hurt. His previously spacious pants were suddenly feeling very confining and his boxer-briefs felt like they were going to split open any minute. He wanted and needed her sooner rather than later and as she wiggled under him, he knew she felt the same.
His mouth made its way up to hers again as he slid his hand slowly over her ribs, down her abdomen and into her pants to her underwear. Mindy pushed her mouth harder against him as his hand slid inside her thong. Brandon felt his manhood throbbing as he felt the heat between her legs.
He excited Mindy so much more than she thought a man could and now she wanted to feel him - all of him with no clothes between them. She was craving that raw contact. “Clothes - get rid of them.” She barely got the words out as she fought to breathe normal.
That excited Brandon all the more. He rolled off the side of the bed and put his thumbs inside the waistband of his pants and underwear but before he could pull them down, he heard a noise at the door. He listened again and looked at Mindy who was sitting up about to pull her shirt over her head.
Knock, knock, knock. Oh shit! Who the hell has bad timing Brandon wondered? They both froze, waiting to see if it stopped, hoping someone had the wrong room. But they heard it again, followed by a familiar voice. “Hey Brandon. You in there buddy? I just left Faith and wanted to talk a bit.” Stephen yelled.
Shit - shit! Brandon couldn’t believe his timing. Should he answer it? He knew he better because Stephen had one of his room keys so he might just walk in if he thought he was relaxing on the lanai.
Mindy jumped off the bed fixing her clothes and hair, trying to gain composer as Brandon yelled, “Just a minute.” He grabbed his shirt off the coffee table and put it on to help hide the large bulge in his pants.
Damn it - the timing couldn’t be worse for his friend to come knocking. He thought of sending him a message earlier to tell him not to come by without texting or calling just in case things went well but he was so into his time with Mindy that he totally forgot about it.
“Come on man, open the door.” Stephen yelled again. Mindy half-assed straightened the sheets on the bed then pointed to the lanai and walked that way to sit in the chair as Brandon made his way to the door. He opened it and Stephen asked, “Were you already in bed? It took you long enough.”
Cocking his head slightly to one side and giving him a funny look as Stephen walked halfway in the room. “No, Mindy and I were out on the lanai enjoying each others company.”
Mindy yelled inside, “Hi Stephen.”
“Hey Mindy. Sorry I didn’t realize you were here or I wouldn’t have bothered you.” He looked back at Brandon as if to say he was sorry. “Hey man, we can talk tomorrow. I’ll let you two enjoy the rest of your evening.” He started to walk away.”
“Stephen - no stay.” Mindy stood up and looked at Brandon then Stephen. “It’s getting late and I should really be going, especially since Faith is back in the room.” She started walking inside the room. “Nice to see you Stephen.” She said smiling at him then looked at Brandon.
“I’ll walk you to the door.” He started to follow her but turned to Stephen. “If you want to grab a beer, I’ll meet you on the lanai in a minute.” Then he continued following Mindy as she grabbed her room key off the table and walked to the door.
Brandon couldn’t believe the night was ending this way. They were both so into each other and he wanted nothing more than to be close to her in every possible way.
Mindy stopped before opening the door and turned to Brandon as she saw Stephen walk outside to the patio. “I wish the evening had ended differently, but maybe it’s best for now. - I had a really nice, memorable evening. Thanks again.” She gazed up into his eyes so she could feel that connection she'll be craving all night.
Brandon gave her the same deep look of want and attachment. He wanted to take her into his arms and carry her to the bed again but he knew he couldn’t. “I’m sorry our night got interrupted. I guess I should’ve text him to say I’d see him in the morning. - I really wanted more time with you.” He leaned down as he wrapped both arms around her waist pulling her into him and planting a sexy, ravenous kiss that seemed to last several minutes. He wanted to give her something exciting to remember when she thought of him and their evening together. “Have sweet dreams.” He sucked on her lower lip and gave her one more brief kiss. “Maybe I’ll see you at breakfast.” He smiled and opened the door for her.
As Mindy walked through the doorway into the hall, she turned to look at him one more time. “That’s a very good possibility.” She flashed another sexy smile as she walked down the hallway without turning around again.
Chapter 8
“Come on lets go.” Mindy yelled as Faith finished brushing her hair and putting on some lip gloss. “I told Brandon I’d see him this morning.” She grabbed her purse and keycard heading for the door.
She looked at Mindy as she passed by her when the door opened. “Wow - I like the new you - and I’m really glad your evening with Brandon went so well. You deserve it Min.” When the door closed, Faith slid her arm through Mindy’s as they walked down the hallway to the elevators.
“Thank you. Now that I’m not fighting the feelings as much, I’m kinda looking forward to more time with him.” The thought put a big smile on her face and she squeezed Faith’s arm to her side, “I’m glad you and Stephen had a good time last night. You deserve some happiness too.”
Smiling at her friend, “I think it’ll be nice for both of us to have some good male companionship for a change. It’s just crazy we had to come to Hawaii for it!” They both giggled at the thought but knew it was true.
When they entered the restaurant, they noticed it was starting to get a bit crowded. Waiting for the hostess to take care of the parties ahead of them, they both looked around for Brandon and Stephen. No sign of them but there were some areas that weren’t within view, including the lanai.
Stepping up to the hostess desk, the hostess greeted them. “Good morning ladies. Two for
- “ Pausing and looking down briefly, she continued. “Are you Mindy and Faith?” The attractive brunette with a flower in her hair looked at both of them.
They looked at each other confused and wondering how the hostess knew who they were. “We are.”
“Please come with me.” And she lead them through the restaurant out to the lanai where they saw Brandon and Stephen off to the side sipping coffee and talking. Brandon looked up at Mindy as Stephen followed his gaze but looked at Faith.
Mindy felt her heart skip a beat when she locked eyes with Brandon. He gave her a sexy, approving look as he scanned her up and down. Not looking away, he stood up when they approached the table. Mindy walked over to the chair next to him as he pulled it out for her. “Thank you.” She gave him another glance with a soft smile but before she could sit down, he leaned in to kiss her on the lips.
“Good morning - and you’re welcome.” He tore his eyes away for a minute to look over at Faith, who already struck up a conversation with Stephen. “Good morning Faith.” He smiled at the two of them. He really wanted Stephen to find someone nice to date and he already approved of Faith. The only problem was the distance between where they both lived. Which was the same problem he would have with Mindy, but he wasn’t ready to face that reality yet. He knew it wouldn’t stop him from wanting to get closer to her so he was trying to put it to the back of his mind for now.
“Brandon?” Mindy had her head cocked looking at him as if he missed something.
“Did you say something?” He sat back with his cup of coffee in his hand.
Laughing at him, she repeated her question. “I was just asking what you guys had planned for today.”
