We.
“I can stay here, can’t I?” I murmured. “Even if the mortal world is going to be healing now, don’t you all think I belong here?”
“Where else would you be?” Owain said practically. “You have too much magic to be let loose on anybody.” He winked at me, looking more carefree than I’d ever seen him. “You didn’t still want to be Queen, though, did you?”
I shook my head vehemently, trying to keep a straight face. “Not since I’ve seen what it does to power-hungry mortals.”
As Finley and Evana tried to pass through the door, they ran into Lily and Thorn. The latter two were holding hands as well.
Lily poked her head into the room, wrinkling her nose at me when she saw how rumpled I was. “We just wanted to check whether you are all ok. After that terrible jumble Ciara made of saving the world just now.”
Thorn stood so close to her that it was obvious they were on their way to bed as well, too. He spoke in his usual authoritative way, but there was an underlying softness there as well. “Ciara. I just want to say...well..thank you.” He looked at Lily with undisguised adoration. “Thank you for what you did to clear us all of our oaths to Hellebore. Without that, we can truly embrace our elemental mating bonds.” When he bent to kiss Lily’s neck, he said, “I did tell you you’d be having company in your room soon, didn’t I?”
Both couples left, their footsteps hurrying along the hallway until we could hear them no more.
I couldn’t help it. I laughed. Before I knew it, we were all in gales. “It does seem like saving the universe gets people a little excited, doesn’t it?” I began to fiddle with the top button of my school shirt, knowing it would make my men crazy.
Although my seat on Alder’s huge lap was more than comfortable, I still rose, straightening my plaid skirt around my hips. I’d been right. The four of them couldn’t stop looking at my body. Seized by an imp of unbridled lust, I ran my hands down myself, touching my breasts, pulling my shirt tight at my waist. When I reached my hips, I heard Alder’s spell that turned the lock of the door to his study. He wanted to keep us all here.
“I forgot to ask,” I said huskily, looking from one of them to the other. “Who was it that carried me when we came up here? I don’t remember anything after reappearing in the classroom.”
Alder stepped toward me, his broad shoulders reminding me of how powerful they each were. They were mine, my strength and my support. “It was you, Ciara,” he said softly. “You cleansed us all of our false oaths, then brought us all back to life, and still had enough magic to teleport us all up here. It was astounding.”
“She is, isn’t she?” Breze looked at the other three men, checking in with them. He was not afraid of anything. Cleansed of their past misdeeds, they could bond with me as never before.
“You truly don’t want to be Queen?” Rook was direct. “Will you allow control to revert back to the family lines from before Hellebore?”
“I’d be terrible at it,” I said, not even needing to stop and think. “I don’t want to govern, and I’m too strong in my magic to be allowed to anyway.”
“You’ll be more powerful when we make love to you, all four of us. Right now.” Breze’s blue eyes bore into me, but with love rather than desperation. He stepped toward me and ran his arm around my waist, pulling me to his hardness.
Alder, not to be outdone, moved behind me and brought his strong hands to make gentle sweeps across my breasts. I caught my breath at the sweetness of it, and the wet heat that was flooding me below my skirt.
Rook was behind me too, his hands sliding up my skirt. “What will you do, then?” It took a moment for me to be able to speak, as what he was doing stole all my concentration.
As I bent forward against the very chair where I’d spent so much time in private tutoring, my four men roved their hands over my body. My breath came in gasps. Owain kissed me, his lips urgent with desire.
I couldn’t help wanting the last word. It had been that sort of a day. “Do? I suppose I’ll put all my energy into finishing at the Academy. I still need to, you know.”
“With honors, no doubt,” said Owain.
“I’ve got my sights set on the academic prize, if you must know,” I said, returning his kisses, even as I relished the touch of three other men on my body. They were working together to bring me pleasure, to make sure our bonds were eternal.
Owain chuckled. “We’ll see about the prize. You’ll need to have a pretty amazing end-of-year project, you know.”
As I surrendered completely to the touch of my lovers, aware that my magic was building within me again, shining from me with abandon, I laughed. “Oh, I do. It’s something to present to Professor Thorn. If I’m right, he’s the most senior faculty member, so he’ll be in charge from now on.” I paused, hearing my voice waver as I began to drown in sensual overload. “Something about elemental bonds, and oaths, and remaining focused.”
“Focused on…?” Breze chuckled as he used his hands to make me wild, even as Rook did the same with his cock.
I had found more than I ever sought. They filled me, body and magic.
I gasped. “I can’t remember…”
Alder smiled. “We’ll help you. Always.”
