  Just a kid

  Chapter 1

Clearing my throat, I lean against the cold brick wall in the basement as I look at the girl in question.

“Let’s shoot her in the head and go.” Her little blue eyes widen when Mikey speaks.

“You’re the enforcer, Blaze, get it done.” He says. Cutting my eyes to his, I grin before pulling a cigarette out and sliding it between my lips.

“That I am, but I didn’t sign up to kill any kids.” I say with a shrug. I light my cigarette before I take a deep pull of that nicotine into my lungs, hoping it will settle some of the nerves that are eating away at me.

“I’m not a kid!” The little girl screams. My eyes drag back over to the girl as I take in her womanly body. She’s right, she isn’t.

“See, she said it. Finish this shit, I wanna go home.” Mikey huffs. My eyes connect with hers, and I find myself wondering why a pretty little thing like her would even open her mouth, when there are two good sized men wanting to shoot her between the eyes.

“How old are you?” I ask. She lifts her chin and I can’t help but smile at the pure courage the girl seems to have.

“Nineteen.” She says. I snort before turning back to Mikey but never move. I don’t need to say it either, he can see it all over my face.

“That’s an adult, Blaze.” He roars. Shaking my head, I wonder what part of this man’s brain is completely wasted.

“Did you catch the teen part?” I ask, blowing out a ring of smoke. I take a moment to consider my options here. There are two, that I can think of.

“What the fuck, Blaze! This is ridiculous!” Mikey screams louder. Pulling my gaze back to the girl, Mikey takes a step toward her.

Her eyes widen but when he pulls out the gun, and places it to the side of her head, she loses every ounce of strength she had.

“You don’t have to do this. I have no idea where my dad is. This isn’t his house anymore.” She cries. Tears roll down her cheeks. I can tell that they’re real, too. Not like some of those fake bitches.

“The problem is leverage, sweetheart. Since he isn’t here, and we can’t collect, killin’ you is the best option for us.” Mikey tells her. Her focus remains on me, but the gun at her temple is making her nervous.

“Put the fuckin’ gun down, Mikey. She’s gonna play nice, aren’t you?” I ask. Nodding her head, Mikey huffs and stuffs the gun back into his jeans. I knew he wouldn’t test me on this.

“You’re comin’ with me for now. Don’t do anything stupid. Understand?” I tell her. She nods her head. Mikey roars with rage.

“BLAZE! This is a bad fuckin’ idea, brother!”

I shrug my shoulders before I reach for the girl’s hand, which she offers before leading her up the stairs.

In fact, I don’t even know if this is the worst idea I’ve ever had.

It may be a bad idea, but it’s mine never the less.

  The Wrath of the club

  Chapter 2

“You don’t fuck with my stuff. I don’t know where the hell I’m gonna put you yet, but for now, you stay in here.” I tell her in a matter of fact tone. The girl nods her head before sitting on the edge of my bed.

“Nina.” She says softly. Running my hand thr
ough my hair, I look at her in confusion. What the hell is Nina?

“My name is, Nina.” She says. Her confidence level has boosted significantly since we’ve gotten back to the clubhouse. It’s strange, yet intriguing to me.

I’ve never had a hostage be so compliant with me. In fact, I’ve never really had a hostage, so this is all new territory for me.

“I’m, Blaze.” I tell her as she gives me a sad smile. I head out of the room, locking her inside behind me.

“Lord kill me, now.” Mumbling under my breath, I head down the long dark hallway before hitting the staircase in a jog.

I need to talk to Pres before shit boils out of control. I guess that meeting will be sooner rather than later, seeing how I caught a glimpse of him out of the corner of my eye.

“Get your ass over here, Blaze!” Damion snaps at me as soon as my boots hit the last step.

All eyes are on me as I walk across the room and drop into the chair across from our club President, Damion.

“Lay it on me.” I tell him with a grin. Damion doesn’t look too pleased with my sense of humor, but then again, he never has been.

I’m the enforcer in this club. I take the grunt work. I make the kills, but at the same time, I have a sense of humor that I don’t know how to stop. It’s like a gift.

“Shit ain’t funny, Blaze. You brought that woman into the club house?” He asks. Narrowing his eyes at me, I shake my head and correct him. How could I not?

“Girl. I brought that girl into the club house.” I can see that I’m working his nerves and it makes my dick rock fucking hard knowing it.

The muscles in his jaw jumps, but I contain my laughter.

“Whatever the fuck she is, she can’t be here! What the fuck was goin’ on in that head of yours!” He roars loudly. I lean back in the chair before looking back at him.

“What I was thinkin’ was, why am I sent to kill a kid! I don’t kill kids, Pres. Not my motherfuckin’ job! Beside the fact, that her daddy wasn’t even there, why waste a valuable asset?” I say with all honesty. He knows I’m right, so why he bothers to argue with me is beyond my mental capacity.

“FUCK! You’re in charge of that woman!” Damion grunts. Shaking my head, I make it clear once again. Maybe I do it just to watch that vein in his forehead pop out.

“Girl.” There it is. The smile that pulls across my face pisses him off further.

Standing up in front of me, he leans onto the table, close to my face.

“I’m warnin’ you, Blaze. She so much as flips her tit in the wrong direction, I’m comin’ for your ass. Make no mistake that I can put someone else in your place.” He threatens. When I don’t acknowledge his threat, he slams his hands onto the table in front me before stomping to his office.

Damion is a cold-hearted son of a bitch. The only lenience he has is with this club and the guys in it. Anyone outside this club, you better bet your sweet ass he will fuck you in ways you never saw coming. I suppose that’s why most people don’t come to him asking for help or favors. They know the payment will be more than they are willing to pay. Never the less, that makes him a good goddamn president.

  But still.

He knows I’m not replaceable around here. No one else wants to do the job that I do.

“Way to go motherfucker!” Roger chuckles. I turn around and grin at him.

“You love my people skills.” I push myself out of the chair before heading toward the bar for a beer.

“Who the fuck knew you had it in you?” Jab, another brother grins as he slides me a beer.

  “You knew it all along.”

“Hey Blaze. You heard about that killer?” Jab says before I look over at him.

“No, what killer?” I ask. Now I’m interested since it clearly isn’t me.

“I don’t know. News said some shit about ingredients bein’ stuffed in the goddamn body’s.” He says. I let out a laugh. What kind of sick shit is that?

  “Not my style, brother.”

  Real life Houdini

  Chapter 3

I talked with the guys for a little while before heading back up to my room. I need to figure out what the hell to do with this girl, now that I have her here.

My heart literally stops beating when I make to the end of the hall, and see her sitting in front of my door with a cigarette between her lips.

“How in the fuck did you get out of there?” I question. She tilts her head to the side, studying me the same way I am her.

“It wasn’t that hard. I don’t like to be locked in rooms alone.” She says in a calm tone. I snort out a laugh before I move toward her. Isn’t that great?

I cross my arms over my chest as I take in her small frame. The way she holds herself, carries herself. She isn’t afraid of me. Not in the slightest.

“So, you can pick a lock. Good to know for future reference.” Taking the cigarette from her fingers, I slide it into my mouth as she watches me.

“We need to talk. Can we do that in the room?” I ask her nicely. She nods her head before pushing herself up the wall. That’s when I notice the shirt she has on.

“What the hell did you think I meant, when I said don’t touch my shit?” Standing in front of me with nothing but one of my Iron Claw MC t-shirts on, my dick leaps in my jeans. It’s not that I don’t like the way she looks in it but damn, she doesn’t listen. I suppose it isn’t her fault since we took her out of her house in barely anything.

Nina shrugs her shoulders before walking back into my room. Oh, this girl is going to be fun.

I follow her in before closing and locking the door behind us as she giggles softly to herself.

“I’m glad I could be of some kind of entertainment for you.” I mumble. She spins around and God help me, those blue eyes look brighter than before. My breath catches in my throat.

“Can I just say something?” She says. This girl is really something else.

I drop on the edge of the bed before raising my hand up, motioning for her to speak. It isn’t like she’s going to shut up until I let her talk.

“This isn’t my first go at this. In fact, I doubt it will be my last. So, here’s the deal. I don’t want to be locked up in a room, or chained to bathtub. I follow the rules like a good little girl. I want free reign of the place. I don’t like being stuck in just one place.” She states. Raising my hand, I have to cut her off there. Is she serious right now?

I shove myself off the bed and make the short distance between us in two strides.

“Back up to the, this isn’t the first time. How many does this make?” I ask as a smile crosses her face that seems genuine. She isn’t lying to me.

“Seven.” Raising my eyebrows, I take that in.

Seven times she’s been kidnapped for ransom? What the fuck is her daddy out there doing?

“First of all, I don’t take orders, I give them.” I tell her. She crosses her arms over her chest as she glares at me.

“What’s second of all?” When she opens her mouth, I almost lose my load in my jeans. This girl is all kinds of mouthy, and hell fucking help me, I like it.

“Don’t test me.” Clearly that one amuses her. I can see it all over her face.

  The devil herself

  Chapter 4

Nina stares me down. It’s like she wants to test that theory already. She wants to test me, to see how far she can push me.

“I’ve had the unlucky chances of meeting some of the most vile people that you could ever imagine. I don’t give a shit what you say. I want free reign of the place. I won’t be held captive, not again.” She says. There, that little hitch in her voice when she said that, someone has hurt this girl badly.

“I am one of the most vile people you will ever meet, if you push my buttons. I consider myself to be a nice guy, Nina, but when push comes to shove, you won’t push me.” I state. Feeling that anger that has been hidden so well for a long time, I know I need to diffuse it. She is pushing me to a new limit, one I’ve never had to be pushe
d to before.

“I don’t give a shit. I’ve been there and done that. You don’t scare me, so let’s skip the empty threats.” She says gritting her teeth. I move in a little closer. I can see her swallow hard before holding her head high. I like that look on her. The one that says she will listen to me regardless of what she thinks, but there is that doubt in the back of my mind.

“You better give a shit. I didn’t get my title for nothin’. I said I wouldn’t kill a child, but you are makin’ it damn hard for me not to take another woman’s life.” I state a fact. Her eyes flicker briefly with fear. A fear I knew was in there somewhere.

“I can’t handle being locked in a room. It makes me crazy.” She says, her voice softer with her eyes fill with tears.

“I’m not the typical kidnappin’ type here, sweetheart. I also don’t trust freely. You can’t stay here. I’m takin’ you somewhere else, I can’t promise that you won’t be locked in a room.” It’s the truth. Shaking her head, she steps back away from me.

Her eyes go wild with the words that left my mouth. She looks like her fight or flight instincts might kick in, so I move in on her again. Damn, I need to diffuse her as much as I need to diffuse myself.

I grab her face in my hands and force her gaze to meet mine.

“Look at me, Nina.” I say. When she shakes her head, I yank her a little rougher. She finally drags her eyes to meet mine and there it is. The pain that someone has inflicted on her is clear as day.

“You need to watch that mouth of yours when I take you over there. Not all the guys are as nice as I am.” Her tongue comes out slowly dragging across her lips as my dick aches.

“Then you might as well kill me. I will not be caged like a fucking animal, ever again. I’d rather die than live that way.”

My mind wanders to all the things that could have happened to her, but it’s really none of my business.

I just need to get this handled and get her out of here.

  Blowing off some steam

  Chapter 5

I asked Nina nicely to stay in the goddamn room until I came back. I can only hope she does it.
